- Clark was in Robinson Park, enjoying the Christmas season. Dick saw him and tried to remember why he recognized him while Clark noticed that Pamela was carrying heavy bags and offered to help. The three ended up in a conversation and Clark found Pamela strangely attractive but decided to leave. That left Pamela talking to Dick, which was when they were spotted by one of Scarface's men - some pictures were taken.

- Selina headed home from a heist, followed by a stray cat. As she attempted to make friends, Superman found her. But before he could catch her, Batman showed up to object. Batman got Superman to leave, then made a deal with Catwoman to fix the cat's collar in exchange for the loot from the heist. Turns out that the collar allows the cat to talk. Batman also asked for Catwoman's help in learning more about Pamela Isley and the Ventriloquist.

- Bane broke into Blackgate, releasing the prisoners. He found Jane Doe and convinced her to go after Batman. Killer Croc then made an appearance and threatened Bane, who encouraged him to redirect his anger at Batman as well. Superman arrived but, by that point, the situation was so out of control that even he couldn't ensure that nobody escaped in the confusion.

But she didn't know about the obsession and was with Clark at the time of the murder. Jacob lost it when she praised Superman, though - and Superman came to the rescue when it got physical.

- Victor and Clark met up at the ceremony to reopen a bridge that had been destroyed by the Joker. The crowd attracted Phoebe's attention, as it was an opportunity to get pity food. But the gathering was interrupted by an explosion on the bridge, as someone was trying to take it right back down again. Superman and Phoebe teamed up to keep the bridge from collapsing while Victor caught a guy who was fleeing the scene and seemed to be involved. Once the bridge was stabilized, Superman noted the fight Victor had gotten into and broke it up, aided by Phoebe who told him who was lying. Fearful of Superman, she kept her presence hidden from him until he left, but she recognized Victor from before and knew she needed help so she talked to him after. He offered his place for her to stay, and she accepted.

- Nightwing was on patrol when Superman found him to ask him how he thought Batman was doing. Nightwing reassured him that if Batman needed his help, he'd tell him. When Superman asked if there was anything else he could do for him, Nightwing challenged him to catch him and then challenged Superman to a fight. Though the former wasn't completely easy for Superman, the latter was, but it was still good training for Nightwing to try. They exchanged some good-natured taunts as they did so, and Nightwing managed to impress Superman with his skills.

- Fresh out of life-saving surgery at the hospital, the Joker used the moment when they attempted to transfer him from the hospital to the asylum as an opportunity to escape. He killed everyone in the room at that moment, escaping into the ceiling, while Batman and Superman could only watch. Batman tried to chase him down while Superman tried to locate him with his x-ray vision. Batman got to him first, but the Joker managed to take him by surprise, cutting Batman with a penknife while taunting him. Remembering Jason, Batman was angered enough to do something he would regret, but Superman arrived in time to put himself between the two.

- Kory and Dick headed off to the holiday costume party being thrown by Oliver dressed as Jessica Rabbit and in a 1920s suit, respectively. Oliver was just finishing the last-minute preparations for the party, dressed as James Bond. Dinah arrived first, wearing a dress with shooting stars. Zahira, dressed as Pocahontas, was picked up by Victor, who was dressed up as a WW2 German soldier. Kara flew in dressed as Jeannie, landing just ahead of Hawkgirl who was dressed up as an angel. Clark was not far behind, dressed as Mr. Phelps from Mission Impossible. Everyone arrived, alone or in pairs, most of them nervous about being there.

- Lex and Selina held a press conference before the gala. Summer asked Lex questions about Metropham, while Aria watched and Vicki flirted with Clark. Both Lex and Selina answered further questions while Marc delivered the wine for the gala. After the press conference ended, Selina gave Aria a tour of the venue, expressing disappointment again that Aria would not be attending the actual event. Lex joined them afterward and got into a philosophical discussion with Aria about the nature of equality. So much so that Selina excused herself and left them to it.

- A writhing mound of flesh escaped from a lab and was eating people. Superman responded, but it took several attempts to figure out how to stop it, and all of his efforts seemed to only slow it temporarily. Until he picked it up, took it out into space, and threw it into the sun. Superman returned to the site, wanting a word with Lex. Lex arrived and explained that it wasn't his lab but one he did contract work with, that it had been working on organ regrowth, and that he didn't know what had happened. Lex went down into the underground facility to investigate, knowing that Superman would go with him and keep him safe. They talked along the way, and though Superman was convinced that something unethical was going on, he was also convinced that Lex wasn't responsible for it this time.
