Returning to the sunshine city of Metropolis, a young girl can be seen walking the streets. Her long blonde hair as golden as the sun was tucked into a messy style bun. Summer was coming to an end soon and the some days were chillier than others. She wore a pair of faded blue jeans. A few tears in them down, one over the knee and on the lower thigh. Maybe it was fashion, maybe it was an accident.
She wore a plain white t-shirt and a mid-way denim jacket over top of it. Kara was still trying to get used to this whole secret identity thing. She had done quite well in her transition to school. And was now in transfer to Gotham and finishing well in her classes.
Taking her cousin's advise, she kept up with the wearing glasses to help throw people off. Where Clark Kent acted clumsy, Kara could be a natural at it. Something she had to control her temper over if something went out of hand. Not in a mission, but more of in society.
Kara Kent was suppose to be your normal teen figuring out the way of life. But she was more than that. She was the alien from another planet that had to figure out another race and life style. The powers were something she had had to get used to being on Earth. It was much different compared to Krypton, that much she remembered.
And now she found herself back in her cousin's city, walking the streets to met up at the cafe they always enjoyed stopping in for a meal and a chat. Away from the League headquarters. But still not where they can be a hundred percent honest over what was going on in their lives. Though it was a way to learn for Kara. One she was struggling to understand.
Kara walked into the the Metro Cafe. An older cafe that had been build back in the 80's and it seemed to be stuck in that time zone with a modern twist. It was a quiet place between the busy sector of town and the apartments. The perfect kind of quiet place to meet and catch up with a friend.
Making her way through the double glass doors, her blue eyes searched the place for the familiar face of her cousin. When she didn't see him, she sat down in a booth on the other side of the cafe. Not saying a word to anyone. She had been running late herself.
The disappointment was apparent as she walked over and took a seat. Clark seemed to always be on time. Doubt ran through her mind over him maybe having to deal with something with at League headquarters or maybe a dam broke in some town. Who knew? All she knew was he was running late and she was starting to wonder if maybe he had forgotten about their meet up.
She sat in the booth, glancing over the menu. Her eyes not in particularly looking for something to eat. Her mind had been filled with other concerns. So many and much more than the average teen might have to go through. But still she remain calm and collect over herself. Not letting the disappointment take over as the time started to slowly pass as she waited.
