Like Lana said, the new additions wouldn't hang themselves. The joys of underpaid employment, getting all the crappest jobs for half the price. It seemed that Lana liked the crabby and tormenting Shanai to operate the register while between three and seven, Charlie was stuck with hanging, restocking and tagging while Lana worked in the back. 'Aphrodite' was a good place to work, but talk about draining! Lana was a good boss though, like to her. It was usual that when they closed up, Lana would spare ten bucks for a taxi for Charlie. Not that she needed, in the blink of an eye she was home anyways but it was the thought that counts. And if Shanai wasn't the owner's daughter, Lana would have had passion in firing her. Shanai used the register as a way to judge people openly and question their purchases. This stuff was vintage and if someone wanted to spent one hundred dollars on a pair of patched jeans, then so be it. Charlie was not going to question them, but it wouldn't stop Shanai.
As she sat in the back of the store on a stool, fitting hangers into the shirts she thought. Last night was a close call, it was the first life or death situation she had been in. But she was here, alive and kicking with her wounds having healed over night. But the case was that if she wanted this for her life - superheroism - she was going to have to up her game. Maybe a costume? Batgirl did it, why couldn't she? Maybe a bit of blue, some fun cape and an eyepiece. Maybe some connies also. But maybe she would wait for that, she was just trying a bit of freelancing before maybe someday, following in her heroes footsteps. "Just in the back. The monola blonics are half price". Another customer sent to buy four hundred dollar shoes for two hundred. How amazing! Turning back to the clothes, she was hanging a shirt when she saw it between the shifting material. The glisten of metal.
No way! A robbery! Aphrodite was being robbed? Maybe it was the overpriced leather jackets that let people know about the excessive amount of doe in the register. Charlie was taken back, slowly adjusting the clothes to make her look busy until she realized it. Three or four shifty looking people in Aphrodite alone. What the shit? Her heart pounding, she looked at one of the hangers and thought. She needed something, a weapon or something. Looking at the plastic and metal things, she pulled the scalf from around her neck and wrapped it around her fist, stabbing the end of a broken hanger through the tip petruding a pointed tip that could cause some damage. Here we go, it was up to Charlie. She just needed to wait for the right moment. That was until the loud bang rang in her ears as her head whipped to the side. A shot through the shoulder and black masks were casted over their faces. Shanai screamed as she fell to the ground, and guns were directed at customers. Whimpers and worry filled the store as Charlie stood, jaw-dropped and looking at the men. On instinct, Charlie gripped onto the rack of clothes and shoved it as hard as she could. The racks shot across the ground on their wheels, and hit one of the guys by the register. They were jammed between metal and the counter, grunting in pain as guns whirled towards Charlie, and she could do nothing but bounce.

Superman was in his customary place above Metropolis. Eyes closed he floated in the air listening to the sounds of the city below. It had been a quite day so far. Not much had happened, he wondered if maybe the criminals had decided to take the day off. 'That would be nice.' He thought.
He waited for abit longer until he decided that maybe he could do a quick patrol around the city one more time and then he could go make an appearance as Clark.
Just then he heard gunshots and knew that they meant bad news. He flew down to the source of the sounds and found a store, it looked to be one of those clothing stores, with all the designer clothes and the like. He personally didn't understand it but that was no reason to sit this out.
He knew that it would take the police awhile to make it on scene so he decided to spring into action.
He blasted through the door and then gently set down in the middle of the room. He noticed first noticed someone on the ground with a gun shot wound, then he noticed that one of the clothing racks had been thrown across the room. And a pink cloud. "Well here's something you don't see everyday." He commented before turning to the robbers. He didn't feel like giving a speech today so he simply stood before them and gave them a harsh look. Knowing that wasn't going to stop them he sprang into action flying to the ones holding up the patrons he tackled them into the wall. Causing them to drop their guns and knocking them out with the force of the impact. He then turned and gave the rest the chance to surrender.

In a mist of pink smoke, Charlie appeared behind the register. Holy crap! Guns whirled around towards her once again and bullets flew. She had never been shot at before, and even though she ducked behind the register just in time, it was a sound she could definitely go a day without hearing again. In a crouch, she looked down to Shanai on the floor. Blonde locks dampened with the blood that shot from her mouth, but it was too late now. Touching her cheek, Charlie looked down at the lifeless corpse. This was a part of being a hero? Seeing people die? Charlie felt sad and pissed, but as she went to rise she heard the doors blast off. Did these guys have rocket launchers too? Talk about overdoing a vintage store robbery. Charlie shot up quickly and saw him. The 'S' said it all as Charlie looked at one of the most heroic icons next to the Bat symbol. Metropolis' red and blue knight, Superman.
Charlie was impressed that he came, but when didn't he. Giving the dead body another glance, Charlie knew she had to do something. Guns were directed at Superman, and even though they would bounce off of him Charlie definitely had to bounce into this scene. She watched Superman fly and tackle some guys into a wall, and Charlie decided to just into action. Grunting, she rolled over the cash register as one of the guys stood in front of it. Rolling, she swung over a leg and kicked one of the guys in the back. They slid to the ground as she stood up. A long shot gun swung to point at her, but she was already ready. Swipping a kick across her body, she felt her foot connect with the barrel of the gun. It shot out of his hands, sliding across the floor as Charlie shot at him and sent a side kick to his ribs.
The criminal winced in pain, but Charlie wasn't finished as she punched him across the face and dropped him like a bad habit. It was the man that shot Shanai, and that one was for her. As a far away gun swirved at her, Charlie bounced as quick as she could. The bullet whistled through a cloud of pink smoke as she reappeared behind him and barged him in the back with both hands. He hit the wall, but then a shot was sent at her again. Did she have a friggin' target tatooed on her chest? She went to move, but the bullet grazed across her arm. She squealed in pain but bounced straight after, appearing behind him on the ground. She swipped a foot and kicked out his feet, sending him falling to the floor as she stomped on his face to knock him out. "How's that for some dark vengeance?".

By the time Superman was going to spring into action and end the robbery he saw another pink cloud. He then saw a teenage girl appeared. She proceeded to beat the remaining thugs into submission.
When she finished them off he took a quick look around making sure there was no one else that could possibly cause trouble. He also looked for anyone who looked as though they would need medical attention. When he used his x-ray vision he saw a body behind the counter. He looked and shook his head sadly when he saw that the person behind the counter was in fact dead.
He may have been the Man of Steel but even he couldn't fix this. He then looked around once more. He once again looked at the clothing rack and then reached to pick it up and place it back were it looked like it belonged.
When all that was done he looked at the teen who was apparently able to teleport. Normally he would have left by now. But he decided that he should stay just long enough to compliment this teen, "You handled yourself good there." He said turning to face her. "You should do more good like this." He said now turning to leave. Seeing as the situation seemed to be contained. And that Metropolis had been rather quiet lately... He wondered why Luthor hadn't tried anything lately. So he was going back out to patrol one more time before finishing for now.
