You may or may not have notice that there's been a few changes around here. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you're probably one of those players who never logs out. So try logging out.
This new theme is now the forum's default theme - meaning it's what guests and new members have automatically. For everyone else, if you want to use it while you're logged in you're going to need to change one of your settings. Go to where you Edit your Profile, click on the 'Settings' tab, and then click the 'Layers' theme. I'm not going to force anyone to use it, but I STRONGLY suggest that you do - I don't intend to keep the older themes updated, so over time they'll probably become broken.
Now, a few things have been moved around and some features have been added. Let me go through them:

Now, a few things have been moved around and some features have been added. Let me go through them:
- One of the biggest changes is that we no longer have a sidebar. However, everything that was once in the sidebar has simply moved somewhere else.
- You can still reach the chatboxes by clicking on the tabs at the bottom, and then hide them by clicking the tab again. They'll still make the little noises indicating that someone is talking even when you can't see them.
- The Affiliates links are at the bottom of the main page, just above the forum's statistics.
- The list of staff members is now on a fancy new page, which you can find in the drop down menu under 'Members'. Note for staff: I intend to expand this page with more information in the near future - if you'd like to use a different picture instead of your avatar, let me know. If you'd like to write up a little blurb about yourself, I can stick that in too. If you'd like to wait until you see what I do with mine, you can do that too.
- The current season information is now beneath the reply boxes. I picked out pretty new pictures!
- The fancy charts with the current character statistics now appears at the top of the page when you're looking at the Character Creation board. If there's another board that you really think it should be on, let me know!
- You can still reach the chatboxes by clicking on the tabs at the bottom, and then hide them by clicking the tab again. They'll still make the little noises indicating that someone is talking even when you can't see them.
- There is new setting for you to play with for your mini-profile! While there's only one that is new, I'll go through all of them really quickly in case the new people especially don't know how to use them. To change these settings, go to where you Edit your Profile, click on 'Personal' at the top, then scroll down to the bottom settings.
- Player Name - If you'd like people to be able to identify you, the player, by a specific screenname, put it here. This does not mean your real name, unless you're not at all paranoid about crazy internet stalkers finding you somehow.
- Profile Link - Throw the url for your character's profile page in here and then everyone can find it easily.
- Relationship Status - Here you can declare your character's current relationship status from a number of fun options. (Let me know if you'd like to see more.)
- Partner Name - Here you can flat out say who that relationship status is for.
- Profile Decor - Throw a link to a pic in here and it will display behind everything in the bottom left corner of your mini-profile. Note: This theme handles these pics quite a bit differently than the old one, so you may want to check to see if it still looks okay.
- Custom Color - This allows you to choose a custom background color for your profile. This requires a very specific format - NOT a hex code (like 8112c0) and NOT a named color (like purple). Instead you need to list the RGB numbers, separated by commas (like 129,18,192). You can convert a hex color to an RGB color here. If you need further assistance, let me know!
- MP3 - Here you can put a link to an MP3, and it will play right from your mini-profile. Note that it has to be an MP3, hosted on a site that allows hot-linking - it's very difficult to find a site that does this, so I suggest bothering someone who has a working song to help you figure out how to set this up. Please remember to keep your selections in line with our PG-13 rating.
- Player Name - If you'd like people to be able to identify you, the player, by a specific screenname, put it here. This does not mean your real name, unless you're not at all paranoid about crazy internet stalkers finding you somehow.
- For those of you who have earned backgrounds, now you get a fullscreen background! For best results, it needs to be at least 2000px wide. You can choose something black and white, something that just has a trace of color, or I'll photoshop it for you. Just get me the URL and I'll take care of the rest.
