Lois had been wandering around the city for about an hour now. Her office had started to get stuffy and she needed to get out before she went crazy. The incessant ringing of phones and people running around had started to set her nerves on edge so Lois decided it was time to get some air. Out of the corner of her hazel eyes she spotted a little diner she'd been to a couple times. She paused before going in and pulled out her phone. Lois quickly dialed Clark's number and put the phone to her ear. It rang a few times before going to his voicemail. "Hey meet me at the diner about a block from work? That is, unless you're too busy for me." Lois grinned before snapping the phone closed and then walked over to the door and went inside.
The diner wasn't really busy. There were a few customers here and there but otherwise buisness was slow. The hostess seated her immediately in one of the little booths. "Can I get you anything while you wait?" the women asked. "Just a glass of water for right now, thanks." Lois replied and then watched as the women nodded and hurried away.

Clark was still at the Daily Planet in his office doing work at his desk. His head was into it recently. Cause the city seem to be quiet with minor crimes that police can take. It's not like he would go but, Nothing too serious happened. With cops on patrol, they were on top of they're game keeping Metropolis safe. Clark was just happy to not fight strengthen villains and wreck part of Metropolis buildings just from fighting it out. Also, he didn't have to mind for Lois safety that much. Clark would still, Since he knew she would go after that story where that criminal would strike next as her next scoop.
Clark grabbed his coffee finishing what was left of it before tossing it in the can besides him. He got up and stretched his arms as he looked at the time on his watch. It seemed like he was done for the day. "I think it's time to turn in." He checked his silence cellphone since he didn't want to be talking while at work. He clicked a button to his voice mail to see if anyone left a message. Clark couldn't believe he missed her call. He would have to just let her know that he was busy working.
He got up moving his chair into his desk as he close his door leaving. To say his byes to a few people at the company as he left it walking outside to the diner that Lois had mentioned about earlier. Clark soon got to the diner and opened the door. He saw a person who worked here asking about a table for him. "No thanks I'm here meeting someone else." As he said that, the person moved they're hand in a gesture meaning he can go and look. Clark was in Lois view now as he waved sitting down in the opposite of her. "Sorry I didn't answer your call a bit busy at Daily Planet." He did wonder if she noticed that he was at work a bit more than often.

Metropolis had certainly been a lot quieter than usual lately. No enraged super villans had attacked, intent on destroying half of the city before being smacked down by the elusive Superman. A small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she thought about the man of steele. He'd rescued her so many different times, she'd lost track. Her inquisitive nature was forever getting her into trouble. She'd never have admitted it, but she'd developed a little crush on Metropolis' mysterious Hero. But these were nothing more than meaningless emotions because she had a real relationship with someone. A man she was growing to care more and more about.
Lois had been staring out the diner's window when she heard the door open again. A bright smile spread across her face, reaching her hazel eyes, as she watched Clark make his way over to their booth. "Well at least you got my message so I'll let it go...this time." Clark had been spending more and more time at the office lately. He'd work later than even she would sometimes, which was unusual. Lois has her suspicions about why he was suddenly more present at the office but she didn't question it. If and when they're relatioship escalated to that point, Clark would tell her all his secrets when he was ready. Until then, she'd keep her suspicions to herself. Lois opened up one of the menus in front of them and scanned through it.

Clark asked for a menu just as she forgive him on being late. He did the same by opening his menu as well. His eyes were going as within minutes he finally knew what he was gonna order as he closed his menu down and looked at Lois. He was gonna order after she done with hers. "I'm happy to see that you finished your work unless if this is your break that is." Clark said as he give a friendly smirk on his face looking at her Hazel color eyes as he continued to speak his last sentence. "Besides the Daily Planet, How's your day? Anything new lately happen?" Clark was concern on hearing how she was today.
Lois did always on the job look pretty yet, professional at the same time. She's very well-knowned reporter for her reputation. Clark knew if anyone heard her name they would know who she was. That's impossible at least in Metropolis. One thing is for sure that, He was happy that she contacted him just right in time before leaving off work. He just hoped she wouldn't think too much on Superman. If it come to it, Clark knew he would just have to play it out while keeping it quiet. He knew if he tell her at least soon enough that, She could be in danger since anyone who wanted to take him down could use her as an hostage to get to him and he wouldn't forgive himself if something that serious would of happen.

Lois' eyes looked carefully through the menu before her as she listened to Clark speak. There were the usual hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads, all of which sounded delicious. "You and me both. I finished a lot earlier today than I normally do. I'm glad you could get through your own work and join me." She said as she finally decided on the chicken salad. Setting her menu down, Lois flicked her eyes up to his bright blue ones. She could get lost in those eyes. "My day has been relatively uneventful. There haven't been any super villains bent on destroying Metropolis lately so I haven't had too much to do outside of the everyday average story. What about yours?" She sighed heavily as she spoke. Lois hated being bored at work. She loved action and the thrill of getting a good story so when all there was to report on were everyday happenings around the city, Lois bored easily. "Oh, I almost forgot! I was visited by a Detective Jenkins from the Gotham City police department. Apparently, our former co-worker, Jeremy Dirama, was murdered two nights ago and guess who their first suspect is?" She baited him.
Her thoughts of Superman were pushed to the back of her mind as she sat there talking with Clark. He always looked to handsome and professional in his work suits. She especially loved his glasses for some reason. While the man of steel was just a silly crush, the feelings she was developing for Clark were all to real and that was a little startling to Lois.

An all-American hamburger with fries. It was basic meal but, Everyone loves hamburgers unless if you were that person who didn't eat meat. Clark said to the person taking the orders for Lois and him. He looked back at Lois focusing his attention in her as he smiled. "It's good that we both finish than our normal times." He then laughed while she talked her day with no Villains being around causing mayhem with normal stories from around the city. While she asked about his day.
"Hey, I'm just happy that there's no damage been done...Atleast yet that is." Clark would knew soon would eat those words. Even though it has been peaceful times in the city, He still had his guard up. "Superman can get a break too." Saying that at her smirking laying back in his seat. "My day been good. I enjoyed it like everyday being in the office longer than my usual time." It really was to Clark as he just haven't to defend the city yet as Superman. Relaxing him more but alert.
Clark was shocked when he heard about Jeremy Dirama. Clark knew that guy can be mean at times but, he still enjoy working with him. When she said who the first suspect was he replyed. "You?" As he pointed at you with his eyebrows were up. Clark doubt that Lois could of murder that man. Clark think. He did remember that Lois was with him on the day. "I think he should consider on rechecking his work, You were with me that day." It was good that Clark was having more free time since he get's chances to spend more time with Lois than before. He knew if he talked to this Detective Jenkins, He could tell Lois was with him. Clark maybe could also help out as Superman with this Detective on helping find Jeremy's killer. He knew Lois could also get this story since she probably found out first than anyone since it was new to Clark when she mentioned it to him.

Lois took a drink of the water the waitress had brought when she had first arrived as she listened to Clark speak. "I am too. I thought you'd never leave." She teased. "Someone said you had your head buried in a story and you'd been closed up in your office all day." Lois was usually the one obessing over a story, spending hours pouring over her notes trying to get the article just right. It was almost amusing that Clark was now the one going over everything just so.
"I guess those are two pretty good upsides to things being quiet around here. Still...I wouldn't mind having an interesting story to report on, not that my recent story about the mayor wasn't thrilling." Lois' dripped with sarcasm. The Mayor had started up another chariety to save blah blah blah...While it was a good deed, Lois disliked reporting on acts of humanitarianism. Stories like that lacked passion and fire.
She couldn't help but grin as Clark caught on. It had been less of a shock to her though. After what Detective Jenkins had told her about Dirama's journal entires and having actually read one, it didn't come as a surprise that the Detective considered her a suspect. "Apparently, Jeremy Dirama was obsessed with me and constantly wrote down his fantasies in a journal he kept. The Detective allowed to me read some of them. Clark I was so disgusted I wanted to rush home and take a shower. Dirama was a pshycopath who believed he and I were meant to be together." Lois shuddered as she recalled the conversation. "I told Detective Jenkins that we went to dinner that night and then went back to my apartment. He might try and talk with you too." A sneer started pulling at her lips as she thought about Detective Jenkins. She reached a hand up to her forehead and moved the hair that had been covering the cut she had. Lois gently pressed two fingers against it. She could only imagine the bruise that was starting there.

With a smile on his face as she teased him. "Well, I was just bring out my potential into this story than it is.. Clark did he could make into that or it was just work that didn't mind on doing if he was at the office. He wasn't surprised Lois knew about it, Word does get around the Daily Planet fast like wildfire. At Daily Planet, it was a shock to some people to see Clark walking in his usual time and stay longer. Even though If Lois know, Mostly some other people in the company will catch on.
Even though, It was a good story Lois did, He feels from her sarcasm in her voice that she wished for a better one than this. "At least you had a good story. It was in the newspapers hot off the press." It was within no time when Clark noticed that story in the currently new newspaper earlier when he glanced over taking a look as he was doing his own story. Nothing much but building being built into franchises. As there was enough buildings in Metropolis already.
When Lois talked about how Jeremy Dirama was obsessed with her, Clark was starting to worry about her. "I do feel sorry for the man's death but, His actions I don't." He wouldn't guess about Jeremy being a psychopath since he hardly ever pay attention to him or maybe he was just good at hiding it from others. "I'm just happy that his twisted ways are over and done with." Clark wondered if she feel a bit relieved herself from this. When she mentioned about the Detective Jenkins might question him, Clark nodded and smiled.Lois wouldn't have to worry since Clark would put him in his place with evidence he has. Clark lean a bit up to the table after Lois showed her bruise on her forehead that her hair was covering up. "What happen there? Do you want some ice for it?" Clark had a feeling that Jeremy was the first one came in mind who did that to her. He would order some ice wrapped up for her if she needed. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. Especially the pain.
