Metropolis wasn't just Superman's town. Supergirl was finding herself in this town more and more. Even thing being in Gotham. Maybe it was just a super thing. Then again...she was the back up when Superman had Justice League business to attend to.
Speaking of the J League. Kara had done a few things for them in the past year. After she had train with Wonder Woman and that whole ordeal with the drain washing and being split into two people. The League seemed to keep an eye on her.
They were giving her a chance to work with them. But Kara wanted more from the missions. She felt and knew they were giving her the easy stuff. But she didn't exactly understand. Seeing as she had been getting better over time.
And she knew out of the Leaguers who were watching her and judging her performance. Wonder Woman had taken her ways to train her. Batman had been the one to find her and also didn't trust me most. And Superman....Well Clark was watching over her and trying to take care of her.
Well, Kara had a bone to pick with Clark. After seeing a few of the new members she was a bit annoyed over the choice. Though it was not hers to make. But she had thought she was a level ahead of them. What was the League looking for exactly?
Now she waited in Metropolis for Superman to get back she had told him they needed to talk.
And she told him where to meet her. But did not say what for.

Clark had just finished helping repair severe damage resulting from an earthquake in the Tottori province of Japan. There wasn't a major problem due to the people of Japan being accustomed to earthquakes. So all he had to do was help lift heavy and large objects.
Once it was clear that he wasn't needed in the area anymore he left to go meet up with Kara. He didn't know why she wanted to meet other then she wanted to talk. He didn't know the topic though he was afraid of what it might be about. But he was no Batman he could be wrong but it didn't really matter if he was wrong or not. He was still going to show up as Kara had requested. After all she was his cousin.

Kara's eye lite up when she saw her cousin coming her way. A smile came to her face. Clark was always on time. He never failed to show up.
"Superman," Kara said as she flew towards him.
She addressed him as such since they were both above Metropolis. As well as being in costume. All suited up for work as usual when it came to flying or doing anything in their line of work.
Supergirl caught up in speed to meet Superman as he came back to the city. She was just happy to see like usual he kept his work. And he had shown up.
The smile slightly faded when she caught up with him. "Can we talk about something? A bit outside of town? It has something to do with the League," Kara said.
She dropped a slight hint over the matter. And most information on that scale was best discussed away from the human population.

"Supergirl." He said in response as they reached each other above Metropolis. He nodded in greeting as well. After all he did have a reputation of seriousness to keep.
When he heard her say that she wanted to talk about the League he started to get ready. He knew she wouldn't be happy to learn that she didn't officially make it into the League. "Lead the way" He said as he followed along behind her.

Kara was silent for a bit as they traveled over the city. Ok, so now he knew what it was about. Now...What was he going to do about it?
She knew he was preparing himself for anything from her. They had already gone through this twice. She had been shortlisted for the missions the League did. But she was no where near the level like a few of the others that got the more difficult mission.
Sure, they used her for her strength on more than on occasion and took her on some missions that called for the muscle when the earth needed protecting or defending. But it was often second hand to any other hero that would take on a mission near Superman's level.
Kara wasn't asking to be on the line with the top dogs, but she didn't want to be stuck with trying to hold bridged of buildings up all the time. Sure it helped. But she wanted to be out there against the monsters and the aliens maybe.
Ok, maybe she was being impatient for not getting some work lately. But it had been the small stuff again...
Just like today, Superman went off to Japan to help a town. And where was Supergirl...in Metropolis pulling the grunt work. Catching criminals and speeding cars. Sure it helped the town, but Kara wanted something harder.
Once they had made it a bit out to the country a bit more. Hovering over corn fields that had been harvest for the fall. Supergirl stopped and stood straight up. Floating there, her arms crossed and looking at Clark.
"I know you have something to do with this," she said. Knowing fully well he'd pick up on her words. "I'm not asking to be on the front line. But why won't you give me a chance to step up my game a bit?"

When Kara confronted him about why he wasn't giving her a chance to move up in the League Clark stopped to think of the best way to say it. "It has nothing to do with your skill." He said calmly. "But you need more experience."
He put a hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eye. "You need more experience with how things work on Earth." He said keeping his voice calm and even. He didn't want to upset her at all.

"And how long do you expect me to be able to wait? It's not like the world is always going to stay the same," Kara said.
She looked at him. Annoyed by him just now. More so over the fact that her cousin was the leader of the Justice League.
Though she did not expect special treatment. It was just the fact that he seemed to be harder on her than most members of the League. She had been apart of it for about over a year now. And hardly saw any change in her standings in the membership.
"And how am I ever to gain that experience if you won't give me a chance to," Kara said. She jerked back a bit to lose his hand from her shoulder. She was annoyed at this point but not to a full extent of anger.

He looked at Kara and let go of her shoulder when she pulled away. "I know the world won't always be the same. But You haven't been here as long as the others have." He said with a calm and even tone.
"And you realize I'm not the only one who has to decide on whether or not someone can join the League." He said keeping his voice level and caring. "You need to show some of the others that you can function better on a team then alone." Not that he thought she couldn't. As a matter of fact she could. He just didn't know what else to say.

"Yeah, and I'm sure Batman and Wonder Woman both voted against the idea," Kara mumbled.
She knew there were other. And she knew Green Lantern was on her side a bit to help her out. Or at least he seemed to be. And Green Arrow seemed to also want to see her be able to do more than she was now.
And like Clark was saying about the teams and such. Kara looked at him. "You know I won't join the Titans. Already one super is enough. And with the League, the more muscle the better," Kara replied.
Looking him straight in the eyes, Kara said,"Tell me who else would you vote against to keep out of the League? Cyborg as been ready for years now and has been doing great with the Titans.'

Even though he heard what Kara had mumbled he didn't reply to it. He didn't want to tell her who wanted her to prove herself abit more before allowing her to join the League.
"It doesn't have to be the Titans. There are more teams then just them out there. But they're one of the others that gets more attention from the League." He looked at her hoping he was getting across to her. "And yes we could use more muscle on the team but it would be better if more of them knew that you could handle having to coordinate in a team like the League without running into problems." He let out a sigh when she brought up Cyborg. "You know this talk isn't about Cyborg." He said not quite sure what else to say on the matter.

"Seems to me I'm being compared to more than just that," Kara said.
Her arms crossed over her chest. That symbol of her cousins partly covered. She wasn't just saying that as well. But even Superboy was being looked over.
But she knew the reasons for that. He had a temper too and was still young and new to the world. And with the Titans was doing so much good.
Kara was on her own. Supergirl worked with others when the time came. Even Green Lantern knew she was a great help on missions.
"So all the work with Green Lantern doesn't count as team work? I've been on a few missions." she said.

Clark looked at her and sighed. "I'm sorry things didn't work out like you had hoped." He said looking at her. "I can't sway them just because I'm Superman." He added hoping she would understand.
"Yes the Lanterns are a team. But you not a full member of them. You don't have your own ring." He explained. He did want her to become a member of the League one day. But he wanted her to be accepted onto the team instead of forced. Besides he wouldn't be able to easily sway Batman.

"I wasn't suggesting that you could or even would put influence on the League to get me in. It's just that I have been working hard to try and prove myself. But it seems the League sees my work in a different way that when I actually am doing good," Kara said.
She was getting even more annoyed. Did Clark really think she would want him just pulling her onto the League without her working towards it. Sure he was her cousin, but even that would be abuse of power.
Kara only seemed to be compared to the Man or Steel. She was the Maid of Might. A super as well. And wore the same symbol. But that did not make her the same or even the same person as Superman.
She was from a world with technology so advance that Earth probably wouldn't reach it in maybe hundreds of years. And he grew up on Earth.
To her, she had been trapped for eighteen years in a meteor, But to her it was unknown and time did not pass for her. She was still young. Trapped as the day she had be sent out to Earth. But now growing as she had been freed.
"You're missing the point entirely!!! You guys give me group missions and I work with those people. I'd see that as team work. And especially with being along side other Leaguers. It just seems like what you guys see is as if it's over my head," Kara protested.

Superman let her speak. He didn't want or see a reason to interrupt her. It was best to simply let her speak. To let he blow off some steam.
"They want to know if you can be on a team for more then just a short while." He said calmly. "To be perfectly frank its mainly Batman you need to impress." He said when it looked like she was finished. There he had said it. Batman was one of the majors players she needed to impress. But only one. "I can ask them if they would be willing to listen to you plead your case to them........ Maybe you could prove your point to them." He said in a consoling manner.

"Something strikes me as to trying to even convince Batman would be rather difficult. Besides he's got the whole brooding gargoyle act going on," Kara said out loud.
She was being brutally honest on her thoughts of the Batman. She wasn't trying to be mean. But Kara had heard other things from some of the other members within the League. Well maybe more of other outside of the League.
"And to prove my point would probably mean to be put through more tests than missions...," she said.
Kara looked at Clark. "I'll go through the training sessions if that is what it takes. I can show them without having to take so long," Kara said.
Maybe she was rushing it. But she didn't want to have wait for years. Yeah...she was rushing into things. She just had short amount of patience lately. Especially when it came to the bigger leagues of work.
