They ended up being tied up in a room together, but as Batgirl was attempting to help their escape their attempt was spotted and Batgirl was knocked unconscious. Summer Gleeson, Jonathan Crane - Scarecrow
- Summer interviewed Jonathan but, instead of focusing her attention on more newsworthy subjects, she asked about the more personal subject of why he'd kidnapped Heather. He denied that it was a kidnapping and accused Summer of not being a real friend to Heather, saying that by going after him Summer would be ruining Heather's name in the process. This upset Summer, which only encouraged Jonathan, who became intent enough that the interview was interrupted by the orderlies.

- Summer and Selina met up at a coffee shop, planning to go shopping together. They both wanted to look for dresses for the upcoming gala, and Summer invited Selina to appear on an upcoming episode of her show to talk about both the gala and the renovations it would fund. They gossiped about people who were and weren't going as they looked at dresses. But though Summer found one for the gala, Selina found a keeper that was not quite gala worthy. They talked about the difficulties of romance, then headed off to the spa.

Summer Gleeson, Heather Glass - VerMillion
- Summer met with Heather, who had been Summer's lunch buddy before Jonathan kidnapped Heather. Summer asked Heather what happened, so Heather attempted to explain about the brave toxin and how Jonathan took care of her despite everything else that had happened. However, just as Heather was becoming more comfortable with the conversation she accidentally mentioned VerMillion, causing Summer to question why she did so. So Heather attempted to explain VerMillion, but was quick to insist that Jonathan wasn't at fault. She explained that VerMillion couldn't feel fear and that it was actually Oswald's fault. Summer asked if she could meet VerMillion, which prompted VerMillion to make an appearance. She told Summer that both she and Heather loved Jon, and then told Summer everything she could remember about Oswald's prison. Summer tried to tell VerMillion that Jonathan wasn't a good guy for her, but VerMillion agreed that another guy would probably be better but said that Heather wouldn't agree. Summer also said that she would investigate Oswald.

- Starfire was taking a break, relaxing on a rooftop, and Catwoman saw her and joined her. They caught each other up on their lives since they last saw each other, exchanging some girl talk. Starfire told Catwoman about her miscarriage, and Catwoman advised her to give Nightwing some space but not too much space. Catwoman suggested that they go out to lunch, Starfire suggested a Japanese restaurant but then suggested that they could go to Japan sometime. Catwoman noticed that they had been spotted chatting, which wasn't good for her because she didn't want to appear to be too friendly with a hero. Starfire challenged Catwoman to a sparring match to throw the onlookers off about what was happening. Their 'fight' drew the attention of Summer, who managed to capture some of it with her camera.

She agreed, but they didn't get very far before they were attacked by a shadowy man who seemed able to appear and disappear at will. Arsenal protected Summer, managing to chase him off for the moment. They discovered an alley with a couple of bodies and they both called for backup.

- Summer was avoiding certain people at a party and Marc noticed this so he offered a dance because he had the same problem. She declined but accepted his offer of some of his wine and a conversation. Though they hadn't met before, Summer knew a bit about Marc and his family's vineyard already, and she had a lot of questions about it. He answered them and also agreed to be interviewed for her show at a later time. Having already had a few drinks before running into Marc, the added wine left Summer tipsy enough that Marc insisted on seeing her home. Though he first took advantage of her state to convince her to dance with him before they left. However, when he went to drop her off there were emergency vehicles, and when Marc asked he was told there was a fire. He insisted on letting her spend the night at his hotel suite, insisting that his intentions were pure. However, after taking advantage of his shower, Summer indicated that her intentions were not pure and Marc was happy to oblige.

- The Joker went to the roof of the building next to the GCPD headquarters, set off an EMP blast, and used a pogo stick to get to the GCPD headquarters. Meanwhile, Summer was meeting with Harvey about the buildings Joker had destroyed, when the power went out. As the Joker attached explosives to the Batsignal, Harvey attempted to keep Summer out of harm's way as he organized the other police officers into taking care of the prisoners who managed to take advantage of the power outage to get free of their cells. But Harvey noticed something off about the door to the roof and managed to break it down just in time to see the Joker with the Batsignal rigged to explode. And explode it did, sending the heavy spotlight falling deep into the building. The Joker literally bounced away. Harvey passed out after being tossed by the explosion, but Summer was able to call for an ambulance.

- Summer had found a lead on where to find the Joker while talking to Harvey, so she arrived at Amusement Mile. However, she was immediately noticed by the Joker and some of his men easily caught her and brought her to him. As she tried to talk her way out of the situation, her phone rang with a call from her boss. The Joker made her talk to him but warned her against saying too much. When she tried to give her boss a subtle clue to where she was, the Joker noticed and got angry, branding her inner thigh to punish her for it. Joker then told her that she would be set free, but needed to broadcast a message from him on her show, or he'd kill everyone on her phone's contact list. She continued to try to resist him, so he threatened her best friend and she relented. He asked to be interviewed, so she asked him about the buildings and he explained that he was trying to get Gordon arrested for working with Batman because that's against the law. He then let Summer go, warning her that he'd kill people she knew if she did anything he didn't like.

- Harvey was having brunch at a Mexican restaurant, where Summer found him and asked to sit with him, pretending to want to do so to avoid a creep at the bar. Harvey saw right through the story, so she switched tactics and tried to flirt, which he called out. So she admitted that she simply wanted to meet him and confessed to her workplace but lied about her job and the reasons for doing it. He offered her a tour of east Gotham, then the rest of the city, before driving her home. Sometime later, Summer was getting ready to go out with Harvey, but she was visibly exhausted so Harvey suggested that they stay in instead. He got playful, but Summer killed his mood when he mentioned that they'd caught Dent and she immediately wanted to know everything. Harvey ordered pizza. Sometime after that, Harvey was taking Summer shopping to celebrate her new promotion.

However, immediately afterward Livewire decided to steal the spotlight, but her attempt was briefly thwarted by the Joker overriding her override to show that two police stations had been gassed with Joker toxin. Summer assumed that Livewire was working with the Joker, but Livewire said she wasn't and insisted on announcing her presence in Gotham despite the Joker's brief interference, and took over the show from Summer entirely when she wouldn't comply. But when Livewire mentioned that Superman had ruined her life, that caught Summer's interest so Summer agreed to interview Livewire. Livewire griped about Superman and her inability to get a normal job, as well as explained her powers a bit. During the commercial break, Summer offered to use her connections to help Livewire find employment. Livewire was so grateful that she apologized for frying Summer's security guards, and the two arranged to meet for lunch.

However, Catwoman was fully aware that Summer was there and swiped the camera, holding it hostage to get Summer to reveal how she knew about the meeting. Taking the letter Summer had found, Catwoman offered to answer a few questions but didn't appreciate the questions Summer asked. Summer got fed up and tried to get physical, but Catwoman ripped her clothes and threatened her hair to get her to stop. - Summer and Selina got ready to go out together, planning on going to Rooster's nightclub. However, Selina had asked Harvey to come along as well, only to find out that he and Summer already knew each other and their history wasn't exactly friendly. Harvey used the opportunity to get everything off his chest but offered to bury the hatchet, while Summer pretended the conversation never happened. They arrived at the nightclub, where they met Rooster, though Summer became increasingly uncomfortable at just how friendly Selina and Harvey were. To the point of pulling Selina aside to ask if they were together. Selina explained that Harvey was just a friend, though when she bent over to fuss with her ankle she noticed the brand that the Joker gave Summer. Summer didn't want to talk about it, but Selina coaxed the story out of her and offered to help. While they were talking, Harvey had gotten very drunk so he attempted to sober up while Selina and Summer danced to forget their troubles. Summer traded places with Harvey to get some water while Harvey was drunk enough to not mind dancing.

Then they stood at the doorway to welcome their guests. Babs snuck some champagne and was called out on it by Thorne, but Renee helped her hide from her father. - Edward was robbing a bank, but Summer was there and failed to take his directions as seriously as he would have hoped. Fortunately for her, she amused him, so he took her with him as he broke into the bank vault and ended up making her fall into the money there while he took some files out of a safety deposit box and then gave the diamond necklace that was also in it to her. Summer wanted the files so she attempted to get close enough to take them by kissing him, pretending that she was doing so to thank him for the necklace. It worked, but it was also more intense than either of them was expecting. Edward locked her into the vault and quickly finished robbing the bank, aware that the police were on the way, but failed to notice that the files were missing from his pocket.

Summer Gleeson, Edward Nigma - The Riddler
- Summer went undercover and got a job at the Iceberg Lounge as a waitress, hoping to expose Oswald's secrets. However, she ran into Edward while working in the back, who recognized her. He immediately tried to capitalize on the situation by reminding her how dangerous it would be if she were caught and demanding the files she'd taken from him. She suggested that they go into a private room. There Edward, believing that Oswald would be spying on them, pretended to be amorous until he realized that Summer wasn't concerned about it and she revealed that the camera in that room was disabled. Summer attempted to negotiate, but Edward knew he had the upper hand and refused any compromise or delay. So he took her away immediately so that she could retrieve the files and, on the way, he warned her against pursuing her story on Oswald, but when they got there Edward found she'd destroyed the original files and only had a flash drive to give him. That complicated matters for Edward and her continued refusal to listen to him about Oswald frustrated him, but he kissed her goodbye and left.

- Bivins was surprised that his attempt to flirt with Diana succeeded, but then everyone was called to be seated for the dinner. At Table 1, Jeremiah and Gordon made polite conversation until they were joined by Bruce and Diana. Diana had to remind Bruce that he was at the gala with her because he was too distracted by worrying about Selina. At Table 2, Roy and Joan attempted to make pleasant conversation as the rest of the table were couples. Kory and Dick talked pleasantly with everyone, and Iris and Nathaniel fawned over each other. At Table 3, Babs was drunk and Charlotte was both appalled by this and took an instant dislike to Piper. The feeling was mutual. Piper chose to talk to Bivins instead, and both Elise and Renee were slow to arrive. At Table 4, Rooster shared her booze with Rowdy, who flirted with Lola even though she was clearly with Oswald. Rowdy spilled a drink trying to share the booze with Oswald, so Rooster took it back from him. Oswald treated Rowdy like he was nobody important. Rooster tried to encourage everyone to tell jokes, with slight success. Zahira just tried to remain unnoticed while Vicki tried to keep Rowdy corralled while casting jealous looks at Table 1. At Table 5, everyone awkwardly agreed that Selina had put them together on purpose. Harvey was tipsy but happy. Edward didn't cause any problems. Thomas and Helena made so many eyes at each other that Summer felt awkward sitting between them and offered to trade even though they insisted that they weren't together. After giving everyone a chance to get started on their meal, Lex gave a long, ego-driven presentation about how Gotham was horrible, but Metropolis had been horrible until he fixed it up so, of course, he could fix Gotham too. He explained some of his plans, and Selina offered a comparatively brief statement of support.

- Jonathan had invited Summer to have dinner with Heather and himself. Both Summer and Heather didn't fully trust the situation, but Jonathan was on his best behavior. Summer and Heather made some awkward small talk, but then Jonathan told Summer that he was planning on turning himself in and he wanted Summer to cover the story. Summer had reservations but agreed to do so, and tried to encourage Heather to stay with her. Heather didn't want that but said she would be happy to hang out with Summer later. Jonathan told Summer when he would be turning himself in, and she left.

Unknown - The Joker, Summer Gleeson
- The Joker, fresh out of the asylum, decided to visit Summer. The Joker wanted to see the brand, so she pretended that her zipper was stuck, and when he tried to help she elbowed him and ran, hiding in a supply closet. He couldn't find her, but when he threatened to go visit Bullock, Summer came out. The Joker then saw that the brand was gone, but was only angry about it for a moment before inexplicably being cool with it. In fact, he offered Summer an exclusive interview with him. Which Summer tried to be professional about, even though he continued to threaten her.

Summer Gleeson, Pamela Isley - Poison Ivy
- Summer was undercover as a waitress at the Iceberg Lounge when Poison Ivy arrived for a drink or two. Poison Ivy became curious about Summer because she seemed familiar and insisted that Summer sit with her. Summer quickly became fascinated by Poison Ivy and encouraged her to talk. Poison Ivy talked about where she saw herself in the hierarchy of rogues and her goals. And as they talked Poison Ivy also deduced that Summer was frightened of Oswald and that Summer had met other rogues. Poison Ivy asked Summer why she worked at the lounge and called Summer out on it when she lied. Summer asked about what it was like in the asylum, and Poison Ivy revealed how aware she was of Oswald's attempts to monitor their conversation. Poison Ivy talked about her garden and Summer said she would love to see it. Poison Ivy also talked about the time she tried to kill Two-Face before they were rogues. Poison Ivy then asked Summer if she knew any secrets, but when Summer mentioned Lola Poison Ivy revealed that she knew way more about her than Summer did. When the conversation finally came to an end, Poison Ivy decided that she'd enjoyed the conversation enough to give Summer a huge tip.

- Despite the risks involved, Oswald put out an open invitation to poker night at his mansion. Edward, Poison Ivy, and Black Mask arrived first, the latter being quite a surprise to everyone because Roman was known to be dead. VerMillion and Catwoman arrived as well, but Edward immediately objected to VerMillion's presence. Poison Ivy and Black Mask both dismissed Edward's complaint. Lola arrived just before the Joker made his grand entrance, followed closely by Two-Face who also made a mess. Bivins arrived and tried to blend in while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. VerMillion recognized Black Mask for who he was and greeted him with kisses, confusing everyone but that didn't stop Edward from grabbing her and putting a gun to her head. Poison Ivy immediately threatened Edward, causing him to let VerMillion go again. Summer, undercover as a server, began helping with drinks. Oswald encouraged everyone to turn their attention to the poker game, though when Lola expressed an interest in Summer's pearls he told Summer to hand them over.

Edward Nigma - The Riddler, Summer Gleeson
- Edward, freshly cured, decided to visit Summer to make sure everything was in working order. Summer was woken up after falling asleep while working on a story. She was surprised to see him and even more surprised to hear him talk because she'd heard that he couldn't, but she didn't necessarily mind that he was amorous and impatient. After spending the night with her, Edward told her that he was sneaking into Wayne Tower and invited her to come with him. She agreed, and after they shared a shower, Edward took her to one of his houses where he disguised himself as one of her cameramen and they went to Wayne Tower. There Summer had no trouble talking her way past the guards because she was not an unfamiliar face there.

Summer Gleeson, Oswald Cobblepot - The Penguin
- Summer made one last bid for information for her story on Oswald, but he knew what she was up to and trapped her while she was in the act. Oswald offered to let her hand over everything she had on him and walk away, but she refused, so she was knocked out and taken to a secret location. There he broke down her confidence by threatening to kill the people she cared about instead of just her. That convinced her to give up everything she had on him, and he warned that if she acted against him in the future he would carry out that threat. However, he insisted that he needed even more for her to earn her freedom, and asked about her relationships with Edward and Poison Ivy. Summer told the truth about Poison Ivy but claimed that her relationship with Edward was purely physical. Oswald believed her, but before he let her go he sedated her and implanted a tracker and an experimental microphone into her neck.

Man-Bat was hiding on an upper floor and was disturbed by all the people at the house. Arnold had followed Summer and thought that he might try kidnapping her. Suddenly, Man-Bat attacked, injuring Arnold's henchman and a cameraman, causing almost everyone in front of the house to hide inside, but Nina managed to ground Man-Bat, who retreated. Summer Gleeson, Pamela Isley - Poison Ivy
- Poison Ivy drugged Summer and took her to her garden. When Summer regained her senses she immediately apologized for lying to her in the Iceberg Lounge, but Poison Ivy didn't care about that. Poison Ivy did, however, have a few insights into the lingering effects of that situation while also teasing her about it. When Summer asked why Poison Ivy kidnapped her, Poison Ivy pointed out that Summer had said she'd wanted to see her garden, and indicated that she was also willing to be interviewed by Summer. But as Summer was setting up the equipment for that, Poison Ivy helped Summer figure out that it was Edward who had told Oswald and also offered to help her get revenge. They also talked about Heather and her relationship with Jonathan, which they both didn't like. Summer then interviewed Poison Ivy, asking about her garden, being captured, her escape from the asylum, and her opinion about the Arkham City project.
