Forced to rise before the sun, the pretty redhead woke from her slumber at the sound of the alarm on the nightstand. After untangling herself from the tangle of sheets, she adjusted her eyes to the dark room and began to start her day. It had been a late night, but with modern make-up to cover up the dark circles under her eyes and soften her prominent cheekbones, her gaunt expression would quickly be returned to its typically, stunning self in a matter of minutes. She went through her normal routine, only pausing at times to compare the length in her same-colored pencil skirts before deciding on what she wanted to wear. Still in a bit of a daze, she arrived at her beloved studio with a smile, prepared to start her hectic and busy day.
This day would be just as exciting as her last – especially with the interview she had managed to arrange for her show. In fact, the moment she had arrived to the studio she ordered her usual request of hot tea and began helping with the preparations. Her staff seemed to be in a chipper mood as well, especially those who had spent 4 years in college hoping to pursue a career in the film industry with a passion for special effects. Because – you see, her guest this morning was a vampire. And that was only one of twhe labels that had made the woman amazing. She was also a valuable member of the JSA and asset to society. Recently, she had written a book that was nothing short of a best seller.
Of course, the vampire aspect of it all made things a bit difficult considering that her reflection would not appear through the lens. Thankfully, her capable studio had considered another way to make the woman’s slender form appear across from Summer Gleeson during the interview. Thousands of dollars in equipment sat prepared for their guest to arrive and the young host only seemed to doubled with excitement. It was rare that those who voluntarily served and saved the city without worrying about hiding their identity.
Her eyes continued to dark toward the double glass doors to her home in studio B on the second floor. The moment she laid eyes on the woman, she was going to insure that she was the first to greet her – impressions were everything. Not to mention, she only had so much time to win her over before the cameras started rolling. The moment her eyes fell on the intimidating looking woman, she displayed her most charming smile before sliding out of the director-styled chair she had perched herself in. Leaving the diva disposition behind her, she tried a different approach as she waved toward her, sending a look at several of the interns and personal assistances to inform them that she had this under control and they were not needed.

Carpenter knew that the first thing people were going to do when she came in and took a seat was place uncomfortable dots all over her face; she was use to it, by now. After the first time she appeared on a talk show, she appeared to be nothing but a floating set of clothing. She was only glad that it had to be on her exposed skin, which was just her face and knees, since she was in her usual day walker attire. Carpenter was dressed in a brown duster that went down to her knees and flared out, black leather gloves, and drab brown knee high boots. She took off her hat, as it would have just been rude to do that at this point indoors, and the sun couldn’t harm her with its deadly rays from that point. Deep breath. Okay, go. The News Station was akin to what she’d expected, though this wasn’t her first time here, once showing up on the Ryder show, but only briefly to explain that she wasn’t going to kill anyone or suck their blood, if they saw her on the streets. There were people, too busy to notice her walking about with papers, coffee, and other such items found in a news station. Her day wasn’t actually a real day, as she had been up and awake for the last week and a half. She wouldn’t feel as tired as she would normally get, but it was probably just the vampirism kicking in. Blood and synthetic plasma was her fuel, now. Although, the crafts service table looked enticing as always; being presented with baked goods, coffee pots, and elegantly placed fruits. Finally, an enormous sign that had the title “ Studio B” was behind a glass double door. Seeing and recognizing Summer from the television as she walk through the doors of studio B, Summer got out of her seat and offered a great big smile, and the vampire returned the favor. She smiled little too much though, as it showed off sharpened canines. “Summer Gleeson, in the flesh.” She greeted and shook her hand with both of hers, “It’s a real pleasure. Don’t worry, I don’t bite.” Carpenter winked playfully at the news reporter.

The woman alone was intimidating but after recently finishing her book, Summer was incredibly excited to meet her. Finding herself in a better mood and even sending her famous, white smile in the direction of her lowly interns, Summer informed everyone to alert her the second that Noelle Carpenter walked in. However, it wasn’t hard to notice the tall, pale woman once she entered the studio. “The pleasure is all mine,” she informed, shaking the woman’s hand and giggling at her comment. “As reassuring as that is, I wouldn’t make any promises until you meet the make-up crew. They can be a sinister bunch.” The redhead teased in return, sending a wave in the direction of her producer who was quick to join them.
“This our lovely producer, Hal” She allowed the pair to have an opportunity to great before Summer continued. “Okay, so I think they ran you through the process on the phone, am I correct? I’m going to go with you to make-up where they will apply those green dots and then Tim over there,” she pointed in the direction of the man who looked up and waved at the mention of his name. “Is going to CGI your face in for the live showing. Does that sound alright?” The perky redhead asked, eager to get started. “I figured that seeing as this could be an uncomfortable process, you can share my dressing room. I have the most comfortable chair and it’s the biggest.” She winked upward at the tall woman, “And you can put all your things in there if you would like while were are filming”
Summer turned to insure her staff was on their best behavior and most seemed to be buried in their work. Despite the title of ‘vampire’ that followed the woman around, she wasn’t afraid of Carpenter. In fact, she was a bit of a fan to be honest. “If you would follow me, we can get started.” Summer said with a smile, prepared to lead the way.

“Oh well,” The vampire smiled devilishly at the thought of unruly make-up artists, “at least I won’t bite you.” Standing straight and following Summer through the active station; the producer a portly man nodded to her offering her a “Hey how’ya doin’.” In an East Gotham accent then wandered off in another direction, it seemed as if he refused to shake her hand as Carpenter had retracted it after it became obvious he was too busy to make pleasantries with guests. “Okay, he seems nice.” A sarcastic tone came from her voice as soon as Hal was out of earshot.
Turning her attention back to the reporter, she nodded as she trailed along “Yeah, we spoke in detail about the make-up. I’ve been on a few talk shows before where we had to do the same thing, though this is the busiest station I’ve ever been to.” She mentioned at the look of other production assistants walking around, the station seemed to be a well oiled machine, and was always the busiest in the morning. Eventually when things began to peter out and die down. “I’ve never shared a dressing room with the host though.” Carpenter smiled, and looking over to the special effects guy; Tim and waving at him as well, “Make sure to get my good side!” She called out to him before returning to her stride.
Keeping close to Summer, for the simple fact that she didn’t want to lose her in the mess, Noelle was excited to get to some place quiet—or rather quieter—so she’d at least have some time with Gleeson before the cameras began rolling. “I’m ready when you are.”

Summer could help but giggle at the comment, pointing her manicured finger jokingly up at her latest guest. “I’ll hold you to that.” As she began to lead the vampire through the studios and continue with her informal tour, the petite redhead tried to suppress her excitement. Now that a lot of the fear of the fake she was a vampire had been cleared up in prior interviews, Summer could focus on her career and some of the matters past the pale skin and blood sucking. This was sure to be a great turn out and it was rare that she had a member of the JSA willing to come on her talk show. A small smirk played on her lips as she when she pictured the faces of her competitors. They could suck it – no pun intended.
“He’s a gem.” Summer replied, matching the sarcasm. “I think he’s fired a dozen interns in the past few months. It’s almost impossible to keep all the names straight anymore with so many coming and going.” Sauntering through the crowd, the finally reached the door of one of the make-up rooms. Rather than the usual women sorting through their wide array of brushes, there was a duo sorting through equipment and a great presence of green. After a proper introduction and closing the doors, Summer slid into one of the extra chairs. “You can go ahead and sit there.” She said, “And feel free to tell me to leave, you’ll have to forgive me. I am just excited.” Summer admitted. And she was!
Her eyes fell toward the materials that were going to help the crew bring the image of her guest to the viewers at home. “That does not look very comfortable.” She said quietly, her gaze slowly switching back to her guest. The man who was overall in charge of effects even laughed himself. He was a quiet, larger man who began to sift through his materials for the first step of the application. Summer watched him for a moment before the next question for Carpenter left her lips. “What other shows have you been on?” She knew about her interview with Ryder. That tool. But surely the others would be retrieved from her memory with a little prompt.

Shit. The glue was being placed and dried on her face as blue dots were being placed on her face. and neck. She sat perfectly still unsure if it was okay to talk. Summer being the one talking to her indicated that she could at least attempt to carry the conversation along.
"Please, by all means; stay. You're the only familiar face here. After what had happened back at the Haunted House a few days back, it's only great to know you're doing well." Carpenter half smiled as more dots were being applied to her left cheek. "I'm sure they were all fired for valid reasons. Or at least, that they didn't meet the high demands of this..." She looked around using her eyes, still hearing the busy stamping of feet and commotion going on outside, "demanding job." She commented.
It was just then when the make-up artist had pricked her skin that Carpenter jumped; more out of surprise rather than actual pain. "Ow! You're a nazi! Christ..." She expressed, almost kicking her feet out into his stomach. "But uhh yeah I've been on several programs before. Ryder obviously, I think that was the worst one. I was more of a stand-in than a guest. At the time, we didn't know my vampire properties would affect the cameras. I ended up just being a floating dress who didn't say anything. People could mistake me for Gentlewoman Ghost." She laughed and thought of more shows she's been on.
"When I released my book I was on Leno, but that was before I turned into a vampire. I guess he just really liked my book, because when I got Ev to try to get me on Oprah it didn't bode well for us. How many guests did you have on your show? Ever have Bruce Wayne?" She asked with the curve of her lips tugging upward, sure that she got some dirt on the smug faced billionaire.
