Noah walked through the slums of Gotham. Prostitutes, gang members, and down-on-their-luck-citizens walked by him. That was one of the problems with society. They thought that all the inhabitants of this 'ghetto' were criminals. Most of them weren't. But Gotham assumed we were all scum...
He rounded a corner, looking at his building. It was a small, one story pawn shop looking building. The sign read "Knuttler Information and Advice" in big letters, slight italicized. The windows have overlapping diagonal bars on them, and the back fire-exit as locked with a dead-bolt and several other locks. The front door was just as protected.
Using two different keys, Noah unlocked the door, moving the metal gate back into its resting place in the wall. He flicked on the lights switch, illuminating the store.
He entered a wide room that looked like a bank. There was a large desk spanning the width of the room (Except for a locked door) and a chair in the center of it. There wasn't any bullet proof glass or anything, but, with his double barrel sawn-off shotgun located under the desk, he felt safer. Hell, he want as far as drilling two holes to fit the barrel of the gun in, the cover it with drywall and painted it. Anyone tries anything, two 12 gauge from Lucra will surprise you in the gut.
Entering the desk with another key, he sat down and ringed the bell a few times. He started to recite a word game he had recently learned from a small child.
1 is 3. 3 is 5. 5 is 4. 4 is cosmic. 2 is 3. 3 is 5. 5 is 4. 4 is cosmic. He kept going at it, deciding to share it with the next friendliest face.

The man given the appropriately dashing name of Roman Sionis watched carefully from his car as the tall, skinny man approached the slightly run-down pawnshop. It just so happened that this man held the key Sionis’ future in his calculating mind. He allowed himself a brief moment to take in his situation. He was wearing a pin-striped suit that didn’t belong to him, driving a car he had borrowed from a man who was now floating facedown in the bay, and the .44 Magnum in his shoulder holster was stolen from a very pompous detective who was convinced he was Harry Callahan. “Just like old times,” Sionis thought with a grin. He waited as the man unlocked his shop and walked in. As quietly as possible, Sionis slipped out of his car, and walked stealthily across the street. “Hey buddy,” said a thug from the shadows of a nearby alley. Sionis scolded himself for not seeing this coming. “I like your suit. I had one just like it before someone stole it. He looked a lot like you. How bout you give it back,” said the thug, taking a length of chain from the inside of his leather jacket.
Sionis grinned to himself. This man would never have the brains to help him. Personally, Sionis couldn’t see how this thug could make it past the age of three. “First mistake,” rasped Sionis to the utterly bewildered thug, “you screwed with me.” The thug didn’t seem to know what to do, so to compensate, he took an almighty swing with the chain. Sionis calculated its trajectory, and found he had to move to stop the chain giving him a nice whack in the head. Moving so fast he appeared to be a blur, he sidestepped to the right while bringing his fist up to sink almost six inches into the thug’s ample gut. With a sound like air being let out of a tire, the thug sank to his knees. “Second mistake, you decided to screw with me without any form of training.” Slowly, the man lifted his eyes, and looked into Sionis’. Possibly for the first time, those eyes showed fear. It would most certainly be the last at any rate. With slow deliberateness, Sionis drew the revolver from his shoulder holster and placed the barrel right under the thug’s chin. “Your last mistake? You screwed with me without any form of backup.” He pulled back the hammer, no longer caring about stealth. “Just tell the Devil Roman sent you.” He pulled the trigger. Sionis’ sharp eyes watched as the top of the thug’s head was reduced to a fine red mist. It was glorious.
Moments later Sionis walked from the alleyway, covered in blood. Now it was time. The police would be here soon. It was time to get his life back.

The first indicator that Noah had a visitor was the gunshot. He heard gunshots at night sometimes, but not so close. It seemed like it was beside him. He felt a feeling of dread come over him, and decided to arm himself. He slid the Lucra out of its slot and left the counter. With the gun aimed infront of him, his arm extended. Ready for anyone to surprise him. He peaked out the window and saw the victim of the shot. The mans head was too destroyed to make-out any details, and it would be hard to identify the killer. There was a shell casing set beside the dead man, and it looked like it came from a pistol.
Noah turned around, sweat starting to form on his face. He pointed the Lucra at the door, ready for someone to barge in guns-a-blazing. If that happened, the person would find a 'double barreled suprise.'

Sionis knew he had to move fast. Quite apart from the police coing to investigate the gunshot, he knew Knuttler would be alerted to his presence. He had thrown out the spent shell casing and put in a new one. He knew from his endless recon that Knuttler kept a shotgun under his desk, and that would put a serious damper on his plans. They did not include a chest full of buckshot. Sneaking around the back, he took out a plain old bobby pin. He allowed himself a moment to reminisce; those were the days. He shook himself and went back to work. Listening hard, he heard the the first tumblers of the first lock begin to click into place. One down, three to go.....
After several minutes hard work, the last lock lay open before him. Drawing his revolver, he vary carefully opened the door. It squeked rather loudly, but he wasn't concerned, it was not as if Knuttler had super hearing. He stepped inside and met a strange sight. It must have been nearly five minutes since he had sent that thug to the abyss, and Knuttler was still standing there with his shotgun, focused on the front door. "Probably comes from working in the East Side," he thought.
There was no more time to hesitate. At any moment, Knuttler might think to check the back door, cocking his revolver, he stepped from the shadows. "Hello, Noah........"

Noah felt a shiver go down his spine. He had heard that voice, and did not like dealing with that man. He spoke softly, but so the man could hear. "You shoot me and you don't get any information." He said, his body not moving from his crouched position. He waited a moment before standing up and pointing his own gun at The Black Mask. "You torture me... Well, I have a lot of clients." He told his, contemplating if he should just shoot. No, he needed the money.
"You know my rates. $1000 question." Noah told him. He hated the mask that the other man was wearing. It was uncanny how much it looked like a real skull. He gave him the creeps.

"Do you honestly think that i would go to all this trouble to shoot you?" Said Roman, lowering his own gun. "This is just to get your attention. I take it you saw what I did to that idiot that got I my way," he said, indicating what was left of the thug outside the window. "He was your warning to run; call it a test of sorts. Luckily you passed." Stowinh his revolver as a sign of good faith, he launched into his carefully chosen sentances. He could hear sirens.
"You and I both know that I need the Batman dead. You do too. I'm here to help both of us, do what I ask, and what I pay for, and you'll become a very rich man." As an afterthought, he added "And your clientle will increase ten-fold." Without any other words, he threw a very thick wad of cash onto the desk. "Don't ask how I got that, a simple 'yes' will do."

((This thread is on the day Noah ruined a cafe, but earlier in it, so there is no confusion))
Noah put his gun down, smiling slightly. He was about to try and outsmart The Black Mask. "What makes you think I want Batman dead? He never gave me trouble." Noah said, trying to RUSE The Black Mask. It would be best to kill The Batman. But he doubted the whole city combined could do that.
"You want me to be a accomplice in a murder?" Noah asked him, a slight smile going to his face. He walked past The Black Mask, going to his counter. "You're gonna have to make it quick. I'm not going to Blackgate. And believe me, I will be going to Blackgate." Noah said, leaning on the desk. He wanted this to be over as soon as possible. He had been ignoring the money the man had been giving him. If Batman died, Gotham would be in chaos. There wouldn't be a need for him, but, he wasn't going to bring this to the mobsters attention just yet.

Roman didn't know what Knuttler was playing at. He thought for certain that the hug wad of cash would be enough to Persuade the man to come over to his side. Roman was not a stupid man, but normally, he would just shoot Knuttler to simplify things. "I don't believe you understand," said Roman, his temper beginning to fail. "I didn't really give you a choice. You help me and I'll keep you out of Blackgate and Arkham indefinitely. If we fail, I'm getting a cell right next door." Roman decided he would play at the mans sense of pride as well. "Don't tell me that the great Calculator is afraid of the big bad old prison!" said Roman, int he most moc king voice he could muster. "Just think! Gotham in chaos and me the Boss of the whole city. And you my top advisor. I have to go, but I'll be back for your answer: make sure it's the right one."
Roman turned on his heel and walked from the shop. He would give the man one more chance to run, then the games would begin. He strode to his car and got in. The police had arrived, and one of them stopped him to ask him, "Sir, did you see who did this?" Luckily, Roman had had the forethought to remove his tell-tale mask before he had left the shop. "Sorry, no. I just got here" Roman allowed himself a rare smile. One more week......

Noah glanced at him as he left, then decided to go hide behind his the desk. The cops would come in and question him, and he would just say he was a guru of self-help and was holding his gun to protect himself. Nothing wrong with that.
He contemplated Romans offer. That was a lot of G's. But, then again, he didn't like being a right-hand-man Hmmph.
((Sorry for the length, got in a car accident and am a bit shaken up.))
