Real Identity Known By The General Public? Nora has been frozen for a long time so most people would not know of her.
Abilities/Skills:
Intelligence – Intelligent in her own right, though not the prodigy in cryogenics like her husband, she possesses great mental acuity. She can learn quickly and apply it with equal swiftness. Her knowledge spans medicine to business to the arts. She studied a variety of topics in her schooling but eventually focused on medicine, seeking to help others and make the world a better place.
Athleticism – Being a gifted dancer, Nora can move with extreme grace and agility. She is extremely athletic in that regard, and is very strong. She is also highly flexible and able to contort her body into extreme positions.
Victor – A fierce and fearless protector, her husband would do anything to keep Nora safe. Anyone who would wish to harm her will first have to contend with Mr. Freeze. As such, meddling with Nora is very much a poor idea for those who do not wish to meet with a frigid death.
Weaknesses:
Victor – Due to Victor’s associations with the criminal underworld of Gotham, the rogues and villains of Gotham know exactly who Nora Fries is and what she means to her husband. This makes her liable to get into deep trouble due to the people her husband knows.
Kindness – A kindhearted individual, she could scarcely hurt a fly. Her kindness can at times make her a touch naïve and gullible. Nora is the type who would hesitate to raise a hand to defend herself if attacked, unwilling to harm another person despite their aggression.
Mortality – Nora Fries, unlike her husband, is a normal human being and can die if shot, stabbed, poisoned or otherwise like any other human.
Appearance:
Being a dancer made Nora fairly muscular for an otherwise very delicate looking woman. She possesses bright blue eyes and silvery blonde hair. Her features are fairly gentle and her complexion is relatively fair. Nora, when at home, typically wore V-neck shirts and long pants or a very airy dress. In winter, she would wear her favorite blue coat as well as mittens and boots.
When dancing Nora’s apparel of choice was typically a long flowing dress, though she would wear whatever costume the dance called for.
Personality: Gentle and kindhearted, Nora is the sort to hesitate to even harm a fly. As a child, she would often catch bugs that she found in the house by putting a cup over them and sliding a piece of paper underneath them to allow her to release them outdoors. Compassionate to a fault, Nora does possess strength of character. She isn’t afraid to stand up for those she loves or her own beliefs, having rebelled against her family’s wishes to become a doctor though she did it with as much love and tenderness as possible.
Nora, above all things, loves Victor, though she has great love in general. She especially loves the winter time. The snow is her favorite. Its quiet beauty. How alive the cold makes her feel. Even as an adult, she would not hesitate to frolic in it, especially with Victor. In general, she is a very happy person. Nora wants nothing more than to be with Victor. That is her most dear, most solemn wish. And she would do anything to achieve it.
Background: In her early life, Nora Fields lived in the United Kingdom. Her mother was British and her father was Scandinavian. Around the time when she was thirteen, they moved to America, but by that time, she had already developed a subtle British accent. Her family was always well off and loving, but had a tendency to be fairly controlling with Nora’s life. They aspired for her to be a doctor and sent her away to a boarding school so that she could focus on her studies. Initially, Nora was fairly shy, but she soon blossomed and became very outgoing and sociable. She developed a keen interest in dancing.
As it turned out, Nora was quite the gifted dancer and steadily became more athletic and more beautiful as the school years went by. Her gentle, kind heart and good looks, however, attracted a bit of unwanted attention from the boys at the boarding school. She had many admirers, but was uninterested in all of them. It was at the boarding school that she met Victor. A shy, unassuming boy. Almost immediately, Nora began to fall for him. He was sweet and very intelligent, and Nora couldn’t help but love him all the more for it. To her delight, she found that the feeling was reciprocated.
After graduating college with her medical degree, Nora married Victor, becoming Nora Fries against her family’s wishes. Her family, disapproving at first, began to accept Victor after a time. What they could not accept was what Nora ultimately decided to pursue a career in thanks to Victor’s unyielding support. Dancing. Nora became a renowned dancer in Gotham and across the country. She could not have been happier.
Until one day not very long after she and Victor had been wed, Nora was diagnosed with a terminal disease. A rare malady with no cure. Joy turned to tragedy. Victor became immediately distraught and threw himself into his work. He went nights without sleeping, making Nora worry herself sicker. She tried to get him to rest. Begged him not to work himself into the ground. But Victor would not stop. Nora worried more about Victor than her own condition. Eventually, Victor came up with a compromise. She would be frozen in cryostasis until Victor managed to concoct a cure. Nora agreed and was put to sleep in the chamber.
Nora and her chamber would be damaged over the ten years that she would be suspended in her chamber. Her Victor had to put her back together again when the freezing process began to take its toll on her body. But after a long decade, Nora Fries awakens for the first time in a long time.
Current Associates:
Seeing as she’s been frozen for many years, Nora does not have practically any current associates. Her old associates would be among the upper crust of society from her dancing days and her professors from school and her family.
Current Enemies:
Nora’s enemies would constitute anyone who wanted to use her to get to her husband. Unfortunately, that could potentially include the entire criminal underground of Gotham City.
Other Relationships:
Victor Fries – Her husband and the person that she loves most in this world. He means the world to her, regardless of anything he has done.
RP Sample:
As Shanice spoke, Nora listened and swirled the soup around in the bowl with her spoon absently. Her stomach had not quite yet woken up as she had. She tried to choke back the sorrow threatening to make her weep. Shanice’s words didn’t exactly comfort her. As she lifted a spoonful of unappetizing looking soup to her lips, she heard something…mechanical in the distance? It was a familiar sound, but Nora’s powers of recall were greatly diminished at the moment.
She perked up almost immediately at Shanice’s comment about it being Victor. Nora lowers the spoon and sits up a touch more upright, though the effort was considerably taxing. Truly, she had felt the need to climb out of bed and run to him, but, with the tenderness of her muscles…that was obviously impossible. Oh, and of course, all of the medical machinery that she was hooked up to. Nora hastily rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, some still lingering and blurring her vision slightly.
She could hear him coming. Heavy footfalls and the mechanical whirring of his suit told her that much. Excited! Oh so excited to see her Victor. Her heart began to race slightly, causing the heart monitor to beep more swiftly, but she couldn’t be bothered to notice it. The footsteps got closer and closer and halted just behind the door to her room. Her eyes, wide, blue, and alert were locked onto the door, her breath held in anticipation.
The knob turned. The door opened. And there he was. Her Victor. Her beloved Victor. As he called out her name, a radiant smile burst out across Nora’s face. “Victor!” she cried in answer. Despite the suit. Despite his tragic appearance. Despite everything. Nora was overjoyed to see him. Nothing could damper that in this moment. And despite herself, she felt tears welling up in her eyes. But not of sadness. Of joy. She reached out toward him earnestly, almost knocking over the tray of soup in her lap doing so.
