For now, after realising what had actually happened. That Roy, along with the child, were ok. Kory certainly relaxed, apart from the quick extra shade to her cheeks. Having half tossed Dick in the process of the shock. Surprised, was certainly an understatement. Naturally,, Kory loved surprises. This was way up there in surprises she had not expected. Wondering how in the world had she not known. Having lived the past months with Roy under the same roof, would she have not realised. Hmmm, suppose she was aware enough of humans, to think this hadn’t been planned. On top of, knowing Roy even more personally, yeah she was counting on there had been no planning at all. Spur of the moment. Maybe more. The tamaranean princess gave out a kindly light smile, as Dick more than clarified her reactions were in fact 100% true. Whilst, catching the few strands of red hair that tried to escape across of her face, Kory couldn’t completely hide her fondness in seeing Dick amused. Despite knowing it would have probably helped her get there quicker, had he been a little more clear in text. Though, suppose now was as good as any and it probably took face time to actually believe. It was still quite a surprise.
”X’hal… He never mentioned… I can’t help feeling, I should of noticed… Do you know how this happened, Dick? Was… Is Kara…? No, it can’t be. I… I feel there is still a swirl of confusion, but I am joyed there is a baby…”
With ease in her initial response, Kory then continued to go inside. It was as she went that the questions came. Because why it was clear now, that Roy was a father. There was a baby. There was still a matter of how. Naturally, there be a mother, as Kory directed her questions and train of thought to Dick. Assuming he had some level of the answers, but she had to wonder how had she not known. She lived under the same roof and had it been Kara. Would she have not noticed? If there was one thing that would be hard to fault her on, was giving her friends attention. Occasionally even overboard, but she liked to assume she was as in touch as she could be. Maybe she wasn’t. That thought upset her slightly. She paused shortly after entering her apartment. Half collapsing on the edge of the chair in the living area. Feeling the swirl of confusion as she said. Though suppose, there had been the chance it was confusing for everyone. Kory honestly couldn’t imagine Roy keeping such a thing a secret. Least not unless for good reason. Nor, Dick for that matter, but she seemed sure from his reaction. He too had just found out. Whilst she sat in a brief moment of bewilderment. A smile did creep back subtly, as she did think of the baby. That was perhaps more important than anything, especially any doubts. Expressed the small delight in her voice, as her eyes beamed up to Dick. It had initially bring back thoughts of their own that could have been, but suppose the emotions of it all, were there somewhere. As baby news was still good news, Kory declared. Particularly if it was a friend. Her attention picked up a little more, as Dick responded regarding travelling. Her eyes softened and her shoulders more relaxed, as let out a sigh.
”This is big stuff, Dick… If Roy just found out, as we did. I am sure he is just as confused, his mind at a rush and probably didn’t even think to ask… It couldn’t hurt to offer… Unless you didn’t want to, I could…”
Kory responded softly, she reached out a hand, to his. Entwined her fingers with his own. Kory had not seen Roy to truly know, she imagined the possibility of any number of things running through his mind. Trying to process it all. Sometimes even as heroes, we don’t think to ask and need our friends. As Kory pointedly and gently put across to Dick. It might just make it easier if he had a friend to go with him and she knew in not doubt. If roles were reversed, Roy would be there. If not Dick, then she’d surely offer. Kory warmly smiled. Suppose, they could both go, but even at that thought. Her green eyes escaped the room. Whilst overly well decorated. It wasn’t overly set out for a baby. Neither, the baby nor Roy should be coming home to this. Already Kory was compiling a list.
”Uh, from the looks. At least one of us, is gonna need to go shopping… Does he even have a crib? X’hal forbid, Roy puts the baby in the laundry basket or the bathtub…”
With not even much of a glance around, it wasn’t hard to point out, as she did. Suggesting someone was going to need to go baby shopping, at least one was going to have to stay behind… Assuming this was all sudden, it explained the lack of baby belongings, but had Roy prepared at all. Her green eyes escaped towards the hall. At the thought of his room. Was there even a crib. Getting to her feet. Leaving the living room and took the short trip to Roy’s bedroom. Stopping at the entrance. Shaking her head at how unprepared everything was. Not that she could overly blame him, if this was in deed all sudden. That would certainly make it difficult and no wonder if Roy was flustered to say the least. Hmmm, suppose chances he wasn’t. As the echoes of Roy singing in the shower, seeped from under the door. Raising a brow. With a half concerning smile.
”Are you sure, he’s ok? Maybe, if you do go with him. I can get the place set up… Could you help start a list with me?”
Kory turned to Dick as she asked. Suppose, it could be he was happy. She could understand that, but she couldn’t be completely sure. Sometimes he sang in the shower randomly. Sometimes, he was drunk. Thankfully not for a while, she hoped. Resting momentarily against the doorframe and part of the wall. Suggesting she could go do the baby shopping and set things up. Kory was certainly up to help in any way she could. She half imagined Roy wouldn’t say no to Dick going with him, but otherwise she was totally down for Dick to come with her. Or he could go instead. Despite not doing much shopping, he wasn’t completely terrible at it, but in any doubt. Kory would make a list. Asking Dick kindly if he’d help her. Surely she could get a lot on there, but just incase she missed anything important. Kory turned back around and headed for the kitchen. Particularly the kitchen table. Pulling for a pad and pen. Taking a seat. Scribbling down crib to start. Bottles. Diapers. Onesie, babies looked so cute in a onesie. Ooh, bib. Kory’s attention broke as the coffee pot went off and suddenly she was half looking out for death traps. She was gonna have to baby proof this whole thing, right? As noted the slight worry in her eyes.
”Hmmm, maybe start a list of potential death traps… I maybe out of my depths on that one…”

"Come on, you only need four hours of sleep to survive," Dick said sarcastically. "Besides, Edison managed for the longest time to live that way, probably why he invented the lightbulb."
Dick was glad he was easing Roy's mind. The guy needed it. After a rock had just been dropped on him, the last thing he needed was more stress or worry at them moment. In ways, he was trying to change the subject for a while. Roy was going to get enough question out of Kory. Heck, Kory was going to hit him up with questions as well seeing as Dick had been with Roy in the apartment for some while now.
"There are ways and there is quite a bit out there. I can guarantee that Luthor has a collection of those stones. Maybe even the multi colored ones as well that the gov. doesn't know about," Dick added.
Dick was rather sure of that fact. Luther set up a lot against Superman. There was no doubt in his mind that he would do the same thing to Supergirl. After all, that was how Batman even came to learn about a few secrets of the weakness and extent of the Man of Steel's powers. Considering Superman couldn't see through iron with his x-ray vision.
"We can always find a iron mine and hide you in there with a glowing rock if things ever take a turn for the worse," Dick joked.
He laughed as his friend walked out of the room. Dick sat back on the couch in amusement over the thoughts. The conversation between him and Roy were rarely ever dull.
Dick looked on to Kory and her questions. Time for answers. And while Roy was out of the room, it was much easier to discuss these things. Roy didn't need any more to worry about at this time. Nor did he have the space in his mind to think about equipping his place for a child.
"It wasn't Kara. You remember a mission he was out on a while back with a certain assassin," Dick replied.
Dick thought about it for a moment. Maybe he should go with Roy. Mainly for moral support. He knew Roy would get the kid. There was no way he would turn his back on a child claimed to be his.
"I'll make the offer. In the meantime, you can take my credit card to deal with the items that he is going to need in the next few days for when he brings the child back. As for the safety stuff, there are a lot of those types of advice sites online, I'm sure," Dick spoke to Kory on that issue.

There was a chance that Roy’s mind was easing… Somewhat easing. Could it be possible for Dick to be interesting enough to let that happen? Suppose, Roy isn’t that surprised he lived with the dude for many years. Off and on. They were often referred to as the odd couple. Or brothers as Roy would rather prefer. They got along and they fought… Now they were getting along and Dick wasn’t the worse person to have with Roy’s mind in complete tail spins… He actually retracted his mind momentarily for whatever that was worth. Though how in the world they landed on Edison, it had certainly not be a mere thought of Roy’s, but here they were. Light bulbs and all.
”Exactly, as long as you feed me, I’m good to go. Don’t feed me and well ask Wally what happens…"
A slightly agreeing nod then came an added small grin as Roy responded. He really didn’t keep track of hours. Perhaps it was four most nights, sometimes it seemed less. That was when naps came in handy when one could find it and in any doubt food. Otherwise there be very little way Roy could imagine functioning or most people. He was certainly could be either a little cranky when hungry or quite out of it that one may need to drag him out the door. Roy hinted in his light joke regarding Wally stealing his food, they dude burnt far too many calories it was often he ate most and sometimes all the food. Making him not always the easiest to live with, although he certainly cleaned up splendidly it generally made up for it. The conversation had oddly taken a different turn, still subtracting Roy’s mind, but subtracting none the less, as it turned to Kara and Kryptonite. Strange was putting it lightly and Roy wasn’t too sure how to take to Dick’s ‘information’, overloaded much? Then it was Dick, it be surprising when he didn’t know anything.
”The Government doesn’t know, but of course you do. I’m not sure thats a fact you wanna go swinging around, one might think your a fan or something… Batman might get jealous."
Sarcastically Roy responded light heartily of course. Despite the obvious given how Dick became Nightwing. Even a subtle chuckle came from the back of his throat, but it didn’t come smoothly. Enough that he was mostly in the moment, of course Roy was slightly taking it else where in making the light joke. Of course when Roy didn’t want talk about him, reflect it to Dick. Not that Roy was avoiding anything. He did in a way finally land there, but to sit down and talk it out. Required much more attention and time. Least Roy was convinced. Of course give to Dick to then keep Roy’s mind at ease, well in theory anyway.
”Basically, you’d be putting me in a hole! Guess that’s one way to catch up on sleep. Woo!"
Roy summed up or more took from Dick’s words. Half wondering in such a case they might as well shoot him, if he’d be so useless they’d have to bury him, suppose either way there be a hole involved. Subtly rolled his eyes, before least came to the conclusion there be time to sleep. Either way, plenty of time to sleep, whilst other time spend possibly talking to a rock. Somehow insanity seemed highly likely in such a situation. Suppose he couldn’t completely say he was against being underground, he did build a bunker after all, but that was large. A small, even tight space underground. Hmmm, he could say it completely had him with shovel in hand. As he light expressed his semi lack of excitement to the whole thing. Before he’d dragged himself away from the balcony and back inside. Reality was still there, it just wasn’t as a crashing weight as it had been. Whether it stay that way was another thing, but Roy just kind stumbling through. Eventually landing into the bathroom. His shower kept his mind busy enough. His voice mildly loud as he had sang as he often did comfortably. Though random songs mind you… Eventually he found he was cleaned enough, it had certainly helped ease his mind and body. Before hopping back out and turning the water off. Wrapped a towel around, before he headed out and into his room to back whatever he needed. What exactly, he couldn’t be sure? He hadn’t much of a plan, of anything!

It is often said a hero's life is never dull. Kory certainly hadn’t expected to have been in the other side of the country ,dealing with titans business and come him to a baby? Roy’s baby for that. Though it kind made sense. Not that Kory would or could judge. Roy often had the adventurous life in and out of being a hero, suppose it could be a mix. Healthy, hopefully? Kory playfully smiled, whilst the shear brightness was all still lighting up her green eyes. Somewhat confused, but she was clearly bewildered by it all as she listened to Dick. Who certainly helped to make it less confusing? Kory nodded her full red head, but couldn’t say she completely understood it. As noted by the movement between her brows as Dick mentions assassin. Was she supposed to know this? Know who this is…?
”Uh… Do I? I do not recall Roy dating a ninja! That is kinda cute. Potentially unsafe, that sounds like Roy… Well, I’m overjoyed either way.”
Kory expressed with a hand tousling through her hair as she tried to recall. It wasn’t entirely popping in exact memories, with the countless missions one goes on, particularly Roy and there was a strong chance Kory hadn’t been entirely around at that time. Otherwise she certainly would have known… Nonetheless as she concluded, she was still quite joyed. There was a baby after all and to which she drew to kiss Dick on the cheek. As if in some means of congrats, even though they weren’t the ones with the baby. Kory was just overly expressive. With a soft bubbly smile and laugh. She led to the kitchen. To the table with the potential starting of a list. Taking a seat and made herself comfortable enough. Of course she grinned delightfully when Dick said he’d offer. She really would worry less if Roy didn’t go alone and Dick was one of his oldest friends. It be good for him, maybe even both of them. She smiled at the offer at his card. She took it as he offered it, but wasn’t entirely sure she needed it.
”Thanks, hon. I should have enough, that I won’t need it. Buying for a baby couldn’t possibly be that expensive… Could it? They’re so little. So cute… Ooh, booties…”
Kindly Kory thanked him for his help and his card, though she was sure she’d be able to pull enough out of her savings. It was a baby. A tiny tiny human, she could imagine it’ll cost that much, but then again she did recall Donna mentioning on more than one occasion about expenses. It didn’t dampen her spirits, as her mind was easily taken by the potential cuteness. Tiny hands. Tiny feet. Fingers. Toes. To which she add booties to the list. They were essential, no? Who’d let their baby go with cold feet. Particularly in a Gotham winter. Whilst it didn’t overly bother her, it sure would for a earthling. She looked up as Dick responded in regarding safety is somewhat subtle way of helping, but perhaps not completely directly. She couldn’t help as a warm yet playful smile came to her lips. Was there an unsureness in his eyes.
”Online? You’ve told me numerous times to not always believe what is online… Wouldn’t you think a more direct approach from someone that knows be better? It is ok, if you don’t know Dick, you’ve told me growing up in a circus is considered, different… Maybe, I could ask Alfred.”
A curious brow raised as Kory questioned Dick suggestion. Perhaps she could, but the internet could be a very expansive place. Not entirely always truthfully as many have told her. As she’d experienced on a few occasions, much to Dick’s amusement, that Kory was almost convinced pigs could fly. Hmmm, no. She was thinking more direct information maybe better. Her eyes played upon him as she assured he didn’t need to be expected to know this kind of information, least not in leaps and bounds. Anything remotely deemed settling down, seemed greatly from his grasp. Which despite his seemingly fear of having a family or kids. He was quite good with kids, more than he probably knew, least from the experiences with being a hero or vigilante. He was certainly far more warming to kids than Batman could be… Raised in a circus, though perhaps as Dick had mentioned it wasn’t entirely standard in way of how most lived in his world. Perhaps safety was quite different. Swinging from rooftops, doesn’t exactly scream child safety 101. So perhaps someone like Alfred could be someone to ask. If not Kory was certainly she’d find a friend to ask. With so many heroes and vigilantes they did know, somehow safety seem well taken care of in most places, right?

"Growing up with someone who keeps an eye on everything and everyone, it kind of rubs off on you over time," Dick replied. "Not like I haven't seen the information to begin with."
Dick rolled his eyes sarcastically was in to reference he knew he sounded crazy. Anyone who knew of the Bat-family seemed to think that they were a bit odd. Obsessive? Paranoid wouldn't be the right word. It was rather funny to think about it considering the Bat-family was well known at this point among the superheroes and vigilantes.
Turning his attention back to Kory, Dick shrugged his shoulders.
"Beats me. Check online site about that kind of stuff," Dick suggested to her. "There are good sites online. The reason I said that to you was because you were trying to look up some sort of political stuff or news. I don't remember, but there are a lot of sites that are just junk news to look like actual news. When it comes to buying stuff online there are a lot of mainstream sites you can look up."
Listening to Kory say about Alfred, that wasn't a bad idea, considering Alfred had usually ran the errands for the Waynes for some time. And Bruce, then himself, Jason, and Tim. Though, Bruce and Alfred were lucky in ways to miss out on all the early stuff in raising a kid. They mainly ended up with kids going into their teen years. That must have been so much fun for them to handle moody teams with issues, so to speak.

Ease. Totally feeling more at ease, but it was really Roy saying that in his head over and over. Basically, knowing he wasn’t fully at ease. Could he really? No. Dude. He was a father. There was no way this was totally easing, but evidently Dick certainly go close. Roy least felt less clouded. With Dick attempting sarcasm it was hard not to be a little clear headed. Or semi-amused. Catching Dick on his lighter sides, was a treat. Though, reference of Bruce were certainly nothing new. In ways Dick was so far past being Bruce and then he could be very much like looking Bruce dead in the eye. Which, Roy didn’t entirely like to do, even with real Bruce… Roy chuckled at the mentioning of eye.
”Ah… The all seeing eye… What a functional family that is. Suppose, who am I to talk. What is functional, anyways?!"
Roy responded with his slight amused tone, running with the image of Bruce seeing everything. That really wasn’t news, but it certainly made Roy wonder if he was suppose to be all seeing now with his daughter. Hmmm, maybe not as far as Bruce. Who really takes it that far? As Roy joked at the dysfunctional element of the Bat family, least in the actual family department. Would Bruce exactly win father of the year? Then, Roy hadn’t had the greatest run either with family. Whether death or simply being tossed out by jerks. Leaving Roy much to his own devices. Really the only somewhat constant was Titans and look at what happened there. Roy shook his head, with the slight dread of sadness in his eyes. He had so much experience and yet so very little. Was he really that ready for this? To be a father. He got up and took his lead to the bathroom. His shower. With that thought very much in mind. He was freaked out, sure, but somewhere. Roy wanted this. Actually, wanted this and that was alone somewhat freaking him out. Texting Kara again. 911. He sure had a lot to tell her, without possibly taking his head off in the process and perhaps. She’d actually help in giving some peace of mind. Not that Dick wasn’t some level of peace, just well. He wasn’t Kara, as cute as he could be in blonde hair, he was just not the right kind of cute and well he wasn’t Kara. As Roy mindlessly pulled at the clothes n tossed them in a bag to pack. He wasn’t exactly stealth right now as far as packing neatly. Just as messy as any possible plan not running through his head right now.

Baby. Now that was a joyous thought on Kory’s mind as she had pulled up a chair. Pulled out a little notepad and pen. Starting her list. Suppose, she could have used more technology in list making, but she went with more old school. Plus it was more convenient, as it was already on the table. Possibly, the tamaranean princess often made lists. Grocery lists. House cleaning lists. Candy lists. Random lists. This one was certainly the cutest. Tiny booties was a must. That was no doubt. Kory may have little experience in raising a baby, let alone a human baby, but she couldn’t imagine it be that difficult. Booties seemed an easy enough must. Oooh. Bottles. Diapers. Blankets. Wind chimes? Wait, as Kory began writing that down. Scratched that out. Mobile. Baby mobile, she was sure that was the correct name. She peaked out a look to Dick. Bright emerald eyes. Only to see him for a moment speechless and a shrug of his shoulders. Along, with that familiar uneasy look in his eyes, whenever there were talks of babies. Or X’hal even commitment. Kory amusingly smiled. Her golden fingers brushed against her lips, as to not appear completely amused by Dick’s response. Suppose, she wasn’t the only one alien to this kinda thing.
”That is fine, Dick. I suppose you can’t have all the answers… Baby, got you stumped, babe?”
Kory kindly responded with the lightness of her voice. Laced with a little sense of amusement in her eyes. Her little smirk to her smile. He was always the one filled with answers, but this kinda thing. Well, could she be that surprised. Not that it was something snicker at. For the most part, she found it rather adorable. Or rather just, Dick. Kory put her notepad away, for now. She could revisit this later after the boys have gone. Putting the pen down. Kory did not rattle her fingers along her chin for long before she pushed her chair from the table and got her feet. Motioned to where Dick was and extended a kiss to his cheek. Taking in his scent, was not hard and not hard to enjoy either.
”But, I’ll take your advice, Dick. I’ll search online, if that doesn’t agree with me, then I’ll find someone with some experience. You know I like more one on one approach. Your technology is in ways amazing, but it in other ways it is far far behind… Did you want some coffee? Tea?”
With a light play at his stray strand of hairs, Kory responded and agreed to go online. Or, well at least give it a whirl. What harm could it do? Oh, right viruses. Hmmm, perhaps she could contact Cyborg. He’d have the best intel when it came to computers and naturally be plugged into the internet. X’hal, that may in need be a good idea. As Kory thought of people she could ask for help. A bright smile beamed from her otherwise coloured lips. Then there was the sound of the coffee machine beeping. As Kory offered Dick a beverage. A hot beverage. Slipping from his side, as Kory motioned into the kitchen. To a row of cupboards and began pulling out mugs. The favourite mugs. Hers, naturally black with a stripe of blue. Was it really just a stripe? As she placed a tea bag, a mix of jasmine, green tea and a touch of mint. Motioned to the boiled water attached to the machine n poured in some water into her mug. Dunking and stirring the bag around in her mug. Bringing it to her nose. Hmmm, it was warm and inviting. A light taste. Refreshing. She placed the mug down on the counter in front of her.
”Do you know if this is going to be a long trip? Overnight? If you do end up going, there are some clean clothes I folded in the hamper, if you need to pack a bag… I feel I’ll miss you tonight.”
Kory turned and half rested against the counter. As she curiously asked. Whilst informing he had clean clothes if he required them. It certainly no surprise she had done laundry. Mind you much better than when she first attempted laundry. No overloads and no bubbles filling the carpet. No, mostly now clean clothes. So occasionally they go another colour. Kory smiled. She was indeed overjoyed for Roy and even more delighted to meet his baby. She couldn’t help playfully pout a little, that Dick would possibly be away for the night. Which really wasn’t anything new. They were often busy, even more so Dick. So. So busy. With the look she gave, she was hoping he’d make it up to her later. Perhaps tomorrow. To that delightful thought, Kory took a sip of her tea, she was sure with baby shopping on her mind, Kory would have plenty of distractions throughout the day.
