Joker was sitting on his armchair, it looked old and not-well maintained, but the psychopath clown liked it because he had taken it from a dead man, one of his smiling victims. However, this day Joker was feeling particularly sick, he kept coughing and he was looking more pale than the usual...ok...maybe that was impossible to notice.
The clown was keeping himself very well, his suit was perfectly put on and his red smile looked very happy. He was looking very well outside, but inside his mind was trying to kill him, or maybe not, maybe the only reason why he was still alive was because his mind was trying to stay alive, Joker was still sure that he got some secondary effect from one of the meds that the Asylum kept giving around.
The clown had to use illusion to manipulate his girlfriend slash sidekick, to make her believe that he was fine and nothing was wrong with him. He didn't want her to know and for many reasons, she could become very possessive and the clown was trying to avoid that or Harley would treat him like a sick little baby...shivers came down Joker's spine just at the thought of that. Another cough. Another one and this time with some blood, bleah, Joker liked blood but not his own, he enjoyed his victim's blood on his hands. He looked around hoping that Harley wasn't around.

Lounging around on the sofa, dressed in an oversized t-shirt and underwear, watching television and almost ready to head to bed – Harley blows a bubble using the chewing gum in her mouth, it grows large before popping as she hears the sound of coughing in the building. She scoops up the television remote, pushing her index finger down on the red button, shutting the TV off and getting to her feet. Harley raises her arms above her head, stretching a little bit as her shirt rides up a little bit and making her way around the sofa, yawning slightly as she ruffles her hand through her blonde hair.
As her bare feet press against the creaky wooden steps, doing her best to avoid any splinters, Harley carefully approaches the doorway where the sound of the coughing had come from – the room Joker usually spends his time sitting comfortably. Suddenly a million thoughts start to run through her head ‘is puddin’ okay?’, ‘maybe he has the flu!’ and ‘I should pick up some medicine for him!’ being just a few of them. Harley raises her arm, pushing the palm of her hand against the door as it slowly moves open.
The sight the clown girl can see is the same one she usually does any time she comes into this room – the light is off, and the back of the head that can easily be made out to be Joker, the body seated in his usual chair. Harley bites down on her bottom lip, carefully tip-toeing her way inside and being unable to control herself any longer, she speaks at the top of her lungs, throwing her arms around Joker from behind the chair. “PUDDIN’! Are ya okay? I heard coughing! Have ya got a cold? Do ya need Nurse Harl to get ya some medicine to make ya feel better? What can I do to help, Mistah J? I’m tellin’ ya, this cold weather gets just about anyone sick!”

Joker was relaxing in the chair when suddenly Harley's voice penetrated his ears. That scared him, ok, maybe scare wasn't the right verb, even the Scarecrow couldn't scare him, but surely it was a surprise for the clown. The only reason why he didn't jump from his seat was because of Harl's arms around him. Joker tried to play it cool as he always did when Harley was around...he had to do a lot of things when she was around, but the crazy chick was worth the effort "Aren't you a sneaky sneak...eh...Harl" he mumbled with a little smile. Well, the fact that she could walk so easily without making any noise was a plus though.
Joker kept himself from sighing in annoyance and instead made a wide smile, one of those smiles that Harley liked so much "Ohhhh...Pumpkin' Pie! Don't worry, your Mistah J is fine!" he kissed her on the cheek moving his head to the right so that his lips could touch Harley's cheek. The clown really hoped that she believed him because otherwise...he didn't even want to think about that possibility. Harley was obsessed with him already, who knows what could happen if she started being over-protective. Actually, Joker knew because this wouldn't be the first time that such a thing had happened and the Prince of Crime didn't want to experience that again.
Joker looked down at her cheek seeing some of his red lipstick there, the clown brushed it away with his thump "Ah! Perfect!" he patted her on the head "Now go, go! Perhaps I'll have a job for you tomorrow so you need your beauty sleep, my darling!" this time the clown kissed her slightly on the lips then he pointed the door "Good night! Have crazy dreams so dream about me!" Joker smiled again hoping that she was about to leave now, he didn't know how much he could fake this because he was feeling another cough in his throat.
The clown kept smiling trying to not cough...but his body betrayed him and coughed "NO!" he thought with his hand over his mouth, his green eyes wide open "No, really, Harl, I'm fine...you shouldn't be staying around me if I got the fleu, I wouldn't want to make you sick" ok, this was hilarious, Joker was all about making her feel sick in every sense like her mental state, but Joker tried to not laugh with still his hand over his mouth "C'mon! I just need to think about this plan, go to sleep, see ya in the morning!" he waved at her with the free hand and pointed the door.
