Note: If you're one of those people who never logs out or visits the site on a mobile device, I suggest logging out and viewing the site from an actual computer (or at least in desktop mode) or the rest of this post will likely be very confusing.
In honor of the site's 4th anniversary, I've not only updated the theme - as is my usual habit for anniversaries - but I've also substantially changed the layout for the first time ever. Ooh! Ahh! Well, those of you who were around back when the site upgraded from version 4 to version 5 might remember it got messed with by Proboards quite a bit, but at the time I tried to give us the exact same layout we'd had before - and largely succeeded. This new thing with the sidebar being moved to the tabs is a first, though. All the sidebar things are still there (in fact there's way more Random Quotes), but now you only see them when you want to.
Now, as we're getting used to this new layout, please let me know if you experience any new problems with the forum or if something doesn't look right. I've tried to make sure that everything looks as it should on all pages, but I don't use many of them as often as some of you probably do so it's possible I missed a few things.
Note that this new layout only applies to the default theme at the present time (the one that you see if you're not logged in). If you decide that you want it all the time, you can change the theme you see when you log in by clicking: Profile -> Edit Profile -> Settings and then setting your Forum Theme to Bridge. If you decide that you hate it, this means that you only need to log in to get back to the old layout - the theme the site has been using this past year is called Daylight, though there's many other options with the old layout.
If you like the new layout and you're someone who has earned their own custom theme, it will still have the old layout for now. But once I believe I have the kinks worked out with the new layout (I'm hoping that'll be about a week), I will give you the option to update your old theme to have the new layout. It'll require some new pictures and color choices, but won't be much trouble. If you want the new layout, let me know - preferably by sending me a PM so that I'll have an easier time remembering. Once I'm ready to start updating themes to the new layout I'll send you a PM explaining what you need to do. Everyone who earns a new theme in the future will be able to choose if they want the new layout or the old one.
