Right on time. Perhaps even a little earlier, Kory Anders had arrived at the Park. The large park was usually filled with lush greenery, was mostly filled like a wintery wonderland, thanks to the more recent snowfalls. It was the perfect back drop for Kory's latest modelling gig. De Levi Jeans company. It was most wonderful the job was in Gotham, it was defiantly more than convenient. She had arrived in nice warm wintery coat. Black leggings tucked into lash up short black boots. Her red hair tousled casually down around her shoulders. Just ready for the make up station. First Kory met up with the photographer. Director. Designer Sergio, he certainly liked talking up his so called 'golden girl'. Kory of course always her kind and generous self… Kory was eager to get started. See the clothing, the go for the day, but the other male model had yet to show up. It of course wasn't totally unusual for a model to be a little late, but it certainly made things slow up. So Kory was shown to the hair and make-up crew, inside a cosy little tent in the park. Just off one of the sides of the lake. Not remote, but it was thankfully a quiet day in the park. Not a lot people, but still a small area had been taped off. Just incase.
Taking her spot in the chair. It soon felt like time was really going slow. As Kory remained patient as the make-up lady was busy doing her make-up. Wasn't a heavy amount, just enough to help enhance her golden unusual complexion. Looking at the clock. Another 15 mins gone, still no show of this male model. Whom Kory could say she knew his name. Least no one had told her yet. After another few minutes Kory's hair was messed with. One couldn't really say she'd ever had a problem with it. It was easy despite its length, call it the tamaranean genes perhaps. It was soon pulled up in casual nice pony tail that tousled lengthy down. Styled with a casual sweep across her forehead. A couple loose strands, it was more than likely to be changed depending on the photos, but this was a start. 45 mins, still no male model. This was getting frustrating for all and Kory was eager to get to work, but after some phone calls made. It was less than likely this male model would show. So with the time, there was a scramble for them to find another male model, if they couldn't in time then the shoot would most likely be postponed, though with costs already spent, they certainly would try. In the meantime, Kory was given the time for a break whilst they were looking and give her buzz when they needed her back.
Leaving the tent, Kory took a little wandering through the park, putting her sunglasses on. She certainly favoured the hotter weather. Sunbathing and feeling the direct rays, but winter certainly its perks as well. From snowballs to snow angels. Hmmm, even Mistletoe given the holidays. She took time taking that down. Today though it certainly was winter wonderland, it wasn't snowing, least not now, perhaps a little sleet, but nothing at all heavy. There was even the peak of a little more sun today. Causing that extra little sparkle in the day. As she was wandering. Kory wasn't too sure where to go. What to do with the time. It could be 20 mins, it be 2 hours depending how long it took to get another model hired. Just incase Kory defiantly wanted to stay closely, rather than perhaps go back to Bludhaven. Even the thought she was sure there be less than likely someone there to greet her, as much as she would crave it… Feeling a little tinge on her taste-buds. Kory settled for now, a cafe. There were couple nice ones she knew just the other side of the road. Opposite the park. Her green eyes gazed upon them as she walked towards them. Coming out of the park. To the sidewalk and soon the little crossing. Hmmm, maybe italian. They did have nice white hot chocolate. French? Sweet little pastries could go down a treat! They certainly were tempting. Finally Kory settled on a Cafe. It wasn't exactly international like, but it had good pies. Really good pies. You could never go wrong with a good pie.
There was a little cling of a bell above the door as Kory entered the cafe. All cosy. Warm. It was an understatement to say it had such a delicious aroma. With the smell of freshly baked pies. Ok, perhaps eating pie before a photo shoot was setting herself up, but a little something wouldn't hurt. Though she wasn't exactly you're standard model to begin with. She was certainly the kind with a little more shape and hip to her. Partially her taste-buds were doing half of the walking. As Kory approached the counter. With one or two people before her. She certainly couldn't just decide on the spot. Not with all the various options. The choices, seemed almost endless. Green eyes ran along the shelves. A lesser known fact was her sense of smell, so she was defiantly getting an extra hit now. After her moment of staring. Deciding. Still undecided. She heard a voice from behind the counter. Asking for her order… Ah? Kory thought. She was thinking certainly something sweet. That narrowed it down by a little… Perhaps something fruity. Key lime looked good. Apple too. Blueberry, hmmm. Ooh, plum. That's a maybe. Pumpkin pie… 'You ready to order, Miss?' The man behind the counter spoke up, with perhaps a little less patience in his voice. Oh… As Kory smiled kindly before glancing at someone behind her waiting...
"Oh, apologises… I'm still deciding, there's just so many wonderful looking pies… Please, you can go before me if you would like."
Kindly Kory apologised to the man behind the counter. With the subtle pause deciding if she was ready. No… Not quite. As she felt the little rush to choice. Before openly admitted she'd need more time. With the glance back at all the pies. Her cheeks coloured a little more golden, shifting herself a little out of the way, before she spoke to a man behind her, if he was ready and wanted to go before her, she'd be totally fine with that. She defiantly didn't want to be rude and hold anyone up. Moving subtly from the side. She began narrowing down her choices. Her eyes seemed to go back between the key lime pie and the plum tart. She'd not had key lime in a while and quite enjoyed it, but she couldn't say she had tried the plum before. It looked so pretty almost like a flower made out of plums, in cute little tart crust. Hmmm, she was defiantly also thinking of some cocoa with maybe little bit of mint or perhaps a chia tea of sorts. Kory sure she'd come to a conclusion, soon.

Jean-Paul Valley had just gotten off his day shift over at Wayne Enterprises and had desided he needed some coffee if he was going to go over to the Batcave later to speak with Batman about his training.
Still in his work security guard uniform which included his hat and sunglasses, he stopped at a little coffee shop before heading home, he entered the establishment and was soon hit with the wonderful smell of coffee. Mmm how he loved that smell of coffee and pastries....but then again what security guard wouldn't.
As he stood in line behind a tall redheaded woman with orange skin, Jean-Paul could see she was curious about most of the things they had for sale and he wonder if she was going to take a long time.
*Oh great she has no idea what to get* he thought when he heard her talk to the young man behind the counter.
"Oh thanks" said Jean-Paul in a surprised voice when the lady in front of him asked if he would like to go ahead. "Hey man ill have a coffee, large, black, no sugar or cream." he said to the man behind the counter "Oh and a blueberry scone"
"That will be $4.59" the worked said "Ok here, keep the change" Jean said as he handed the man a five dollar bill. As he walked away he could still see the woman wondering what to get so as he waited for his order he decided to strike up a conversation "Hey Miss, thanks for letting me go ahead, names Jean-Paul by the way. Would you like some help in choosing what to order?" he asked in a gentle manner.

Perhaps it was a little bad decision skills. As the tamaranean princess stood in the cafe in Gotham City. Though with the Aroma and even the presentation. One could say there wasn't these kinds of foods on her planet, then Kory couldn't really say she had gotten to try everything there. As much as she was tamaranean she had spent most of her life away from it. Whether as a slave or living on Earth and there was certainly perks on being on this planet. Many in fact. Filled with its own wonders. Shifted her sunglasses a little, as her golden finger curious played at her chin at the choices before her. Until of course she was holding up the line. Not a huge line, but Kory certainly didn't like to be rude. As kindly as she had offered. He was just as kind as her covered green eyes caught his Gratitude. Humans could really be so kind and not completely bad looking. As she noted the handsome man in the uniform? Security? It had to be, although she couldn't say she was always so familiar. Kory mostly kindly smiled in response as she stepped a little to the right. Also noting. Perhaps a little addition to her smile. He was not short. Not that height mattered to her, but it wasn't as common to meet humans nearing her height.
Her gaze soon returned to the choices of pies and tarts. Pastries lining the shelves. It would be a little something. Thus the decision before her. Almost she was sure. Over hearing a little at the gentleman's order before her. Call it curiosity… Black Coffee, she couldn't exactly say she'd found it a very desirable taste, hmmm, though blueberry scone? Still she was thinking more pie for whatever reason, call it the taste buds. Fiddling with then as she brought out her tiny purse she had tucked in her coat pocket. Just checking she had enough money out. Oh, yes! Thank! X'hal! In her little search, the gentleman approached her as he waited for his order… Certainly striking up that conversation. Kory kindly with a smile and looked as he introduced himself. Greeted her. Taking a more profound look and noted he too was wearing shades, although topped off with a hat, but with everything that was hidden. Kory could certainly tell he had kindness to face. Added of course by his words.
"Hi! Oh, it was certainly my pleasure, Jean-Paul! Oh and of course names Kory… Hmmm, well I guess I do… Do you know pies? I'm a little torn between the key lime which I know I love and the plum which I can't say I've tried. Though the lemon meringue looks good too… I have a job today, hopefully, so I'll have to keep it light."
Politely and kind Kory responded to Jean-Paul, she had to admit it was an interesting name. A nice name. Assuring it was no problem at all he had gone first. This choice could have gone on for at least an extra five minutes before she just randomly picked one. Kory reached out a hand. That seemed a general custom in meeting new people on this planet, to shake ones hand and introduce yourself. An extra glow came to her golden cheeks as Jean-Paul offered assistance with the pies. Rolling her lip a little, she wasn't completely hopeless, but she certainly wasn't entirely sure. As surprising as it may seem, she didn't have treats that often, just here and there. Certainly been awhile since she'd had a pie. Such things of course were popular with titans, so one could say she was partially influenced. Kory admitted innocently as her eyes covered scanned the pies again. Could she truly be blamed? As she returned a smile. Before an extra gleam and curiosity as she asked about his knowledge of pies. As if finding a hint of something common, but it probably be harder to find someone that didn't like pies to some extend, right? Before Kory dived a little into which had stood out to her. Certainly had tried her share in the past, but there be always something new. Looking between the two choices, but then there was always something extra to throw the doubt in, as her eyes scanned the lemon meringue. Her gaze returned, he probably glimpsed a little more in her dilemma. Of course mentioning her job. Modelling to be exact, if they did happen to call her back. She certainly had been looking forward to it. With her hair and make-up done ready to go. Kory knew it probably be a bad idea to fill up on too many pies and she knew how easy one could fall down that path.
"Let me guess… Wayne Enterprises?"
Kory played out the guess as she took in more prominently his uniform with a broad smile. Of course the guess was perhaps helped with a lingering 'W' Somewhere on the uniform. Not that she could entirely say she knew in details of such a place nor jobs. Even if she knew Bruce Wayne personally. That wasn't entirely a sit down and let's have an open heart to heart chat.

"Well Kory in terms of pie I prefer a nice apple pie or pecan pie, not a big fan of Key Lime as its a little too sour for my tastes, I never had a plum pie before but it sounds good enough for me." Jean-Paul responded to her question about the pie. As he returned the handshake he answered her second question.
"Yes I work Security over at the Main Headquarters of Wayne Enterprises" he said "Got the Job offer straight from Bruce Wayne himself" he said feeling a little proud to personally know Bruce.
"Jean-Paul, Coffee and scone your order is ready" the employee said as he handed him a scone and a cup of coffee. Excusing himself for a few seconds to get his items Jean-Paul walked over towards the counter and kindly thanked the man before going back to resume his conversation with Kory.
Taking a drink of his coffee Jean-Paul was delighted by the rich roasted flavor of his beverage. "So what line of work did you say you did again?" he asked Kory in a friendly tone.

The Tamaranean's eyes continued to roll up and down the rows of pies. Tarts. Perhaps even some cakes in between. Cupcakes down below, but she was not feeling any desire for cake. Not that she disliked cake, she was desiring something light. Not so much flour and well, mostly her senses trickled into the direction of pies. With a genuine soft smile. Call it a little indulging. Surprisingly Kory didn't do this as often as some may believe, but she certainly treats herself when she wants to. Partially could be habits picked up from friends in New York. Just a little bit. Although perhaps didn't aid in her decision making, but alas. There seemed to be help. From as far as Kory could tell was a charming man named Jean-Paul. Beamed a smile as Jean began to run down his preferences and lets face it, they were just as tempting. Delicious! Her shaded eyes looked from Jean to the pies he pointed out. A little in thought as she processed his suggestions..
"Oooh, X'hal… You do have good choices and i didn't even think of pecan pie… I love pecan pie… Warm caramel like taste, it might just be perfect for this chilly weather… You sure you don't want any?"
It certainly wasn't long before Kory half responded from the sensations trying to happen on her tongue, but now she seemed a little more clearer on her choice to order. Offering Jean a glad smile and assurance he was excellent in picking pies. Apple pie was certainly good, but from hearing pecan pie, her eyes quickly darted there. Thick layers, least the tamaranean assumed it was caramel like… She could somewhat cook, but of course there was a lot to still learn… As she talked about it, sensually talked herself into the pie. Her choice. Brilliant. As Kory then approached the counter. The man patient waiting whilst probably whisking up Jean's order… Though Kory kindly returned a look to her new met friend, if he wanted any pie. More than happy to pay for it, although knowing her, she'd probably have enough he could just share off her plate…. 'Are you ready to order?' Came the voice behind the counter, probably happier now she seemed assertive in her choices.
"Oh yes, please… If I may, I would like a regular hot chocolate and a slice of the pecan pie… Ooh, and the plum pie."
There was a pause at her almost completion, but that little stirring feeling left over… Well, she couldn't exactly help herself. Least try the plum pie, it was something new and well if she didn't like it, when she had back up pie or she could pass it off to Jean, if she content with the plum… There were options she was sure, even though she knew 2 slices were certainly more than enough… 'Certainly Miss and would you like to have it here or take it away?'
"Hmmm. I would like to have the pies here and the drink to go, please…"
Kory responded in kind to the employee and paid for her food. 'No problem miss, I'll bring out to you, if you'd like to take a seat.' Kory nodded with a kind smile and stepped back with Jean-paul, waiting for his to go food… Perhaps he didn't have time to join her? She wondered off the top of her head, before listening about his job. More importantly from Bruce himself. She beamed a smile, well she knew Bruce, but no they certainly weren't chess pals… Although that did give her some ideas… Though Jean-Paul as security, she wasn't much one about stereotypes, but looking him over, he certainly seemed to fill the role. The uniform, perhaps. Though protecting Bruce's tower, that certainly wouldn't go to just anybody.
"Wow, that is impressive… Congratulations… Bruce must have been impressed by your guns; May I? How long have you've been working there? By the sounds it is recent… You new to the city?
That certainly wasn't a job for just anybody as Kory happily responded and properly congratulated him, least from the sounds it was new thing. Despite knowing Bruce, Kory didn't exactly hang around his towers or was it tower. She really couldn't keep track as to what he owned or partially owned. X'hal, he could own this cafe for all she knew. Perhaps Bruce had a liking for good pies as well, there's a thought… Before Kory delighted Jean, with amusement in her voice, with the mention of his 'guns', mostly she meant his arms. As the tamaranean could lightly imagine how that job interview went and aren't security men usually have big arms. There was certainly no knocking strong arms. Kory kindly asked to touch his arms. Lightly of course, no this was not flirting. This was Kory just being Kory… Adding to her questions, mostly then out of curiosity if this was a new thing and possibly this could mean he was new to the city in general, but given she resided in Bludhaven most of the time, there was high chance, she just never bumped into him before.
"If you have some time before you have to go back to work… You are more than welcome to sit with me."
Casually and politely Kory suggested to Jean-Paul as he had taken his order in hand. Perhaps he was on the go, as her eyes looked him over quickly, but the offer was out there now. Even if for a short time, as Kory motioned to a table and two chairs, near the window. Not too far as all from the counter either, given it wasn't a massive cafe… Though Kory did hear in kind, Jean-Paul's question regarding her own profession… Of course she couldn't entirely lead into her being Starfire, but that wasn't a job. That was something she chose to do, not just something she had to do. It really came without saying… Modelling was certainly one way to get a little more grounded in this world and with the humans. Even if it could be faulted for not being entirely real, but it was something. There still were people mind it all and places to see.
"I'm a model! Probably not as glamourous as a security guard, but its certainly fun… I'm actually on a job now… Well, its on the cusp, I guess. The other model didn't show up… Thus I am here."
Kindly with a proud enough smile as Kory answered in toe, that she was a model. Certainly wasn't a job that could save the world, as she lightly amused it wasn't as glamourous as a security guard. Which she could imagine would bring all kinds of excitement, but being a model also had its excitements. Plus it was easy, pretty much look good for the camera, usually came easier for her than most. A natural or maybe she just didn't know what she was doing half the time. Before mentioning she was technically on a job right now. It wasn't exactly a 9 to 5 job. It was never the same time and always changed, but well her job now was very much on the rocks… Thus as she said, she was here. Waiting, whether they found the model or replaced him.

"I'm good with my scone thanks," he said "can't eat too much before heading over to Wayne Manor, Alfred sure is one hell of a cook" Jean added with a light chuckle.
"Thanks..sure just let me pull up my sleeve" pulling up his sleeve he revealed his biceps and did a little flex of his muscle, he did not mind Kory touching his arm, for it wasn't unusual for the ladies at Wayne Enterprises to ask him to touch his muscle.
"I been working for Wayne for about two weeks now...no im not new I used to live in Gotham a few years back but had to travel to Switzerland for my dads funeral, that's where I meet Bruce who happened to be a good friend of my dad" Following Bruce's instructions on not telling much about who he was or what he did Jean-Paul told this little lie.
Taking a sip of his coffee, "I actually just got off work so I guess I can join you for a chat." when hearing Kory was a model Jean-Paul wondered why she looked so familiar, maybe a magazine he had read or where had he seen her before.
Still drinking his coffee he sat down next to Kory and removed his hat and glasses "Man it sure feels good to take these things off."

If there was one thing this newly met friend. He was most certainly kind. Charming and undoubtedly handsome. Sweet. As Kory in her own sweet kindness smiled and nodded as Jean-Paul declined and was more than happy with his scone. She was possibly noting she might need to try that scone at a later date, but all in good time. There was no harm in offering, but as Jean-paul let on… She more than understood as he mentioned Alfred. Her imagination could almost escape, perhaps it would be stew, only these best tasting stew ever. Kory followed with her own light knowing chuckle.
"You know Alfred! Small world! He most certainly is. I don't think he'll let you leave not well stuffed. I've compiled a couple nice recipes thanks to Alfred, even though I am sure I fall a little short… I should call in for another lesson!"
Kory responded with the delight knowing tone in her voice, less questionable, but wow. Anyone that met Alfred, it must truly be hard not to like him nor grow a soft spot. Such a gentle man, filled with wisdom, warmth and a pure heart. It was natural to want to be in his presence and let the smiles come. Perhaps he was what truly kept Bruce balanced. Beaming a smile to Jean as they discussed Alfred's cooking. It made her stomach do a couple little back flips as she motioned from the counter. Her order made. Just waited for her drink and her pies. Mentioning the recipes, mostly recipes Dick favoured, to bring a little soul food at home, but she could hardly say they were exactly the same. There was certainly no shame it that. Kory could always go for more lessons. Always more to learn… Her covered eyes danced a little at Jean's as he didn't say no to the feeling of his arm. Even more he peeled back his sleeve. Kory couldn't hardly complain. She could admire another's physique. Wasn't entirely one woke up like that, in many cases it took a lot of hard work… Oh, boy. Had he worked out. Blushed ever so subtly. Before reaching out her golden hand and cupped his bicep. Squeezed it a little in her warmed golden fingers.
"Impressive… Those are some serious guns you are packing… I'm gonna have to see if I can match what you bench…"
That was an understatement, as the corners of Kory's cheeks couldn't contain her grin. Her eyes danced at the finely crafted muscle. Not that she was a massive per, but hey she could respect it. Admire it. With an wink, before possibly laid out a possible challenge for the near future. Even if she was not Starfire right now entirely, but her strength could be completely ignored. Lifting up her own arm, not revealed as she kept her coat on, but flexed the muscle. Left it out for him to feel it. It may not look as impressive, but there certainly was strength. This was not bragging at all. Merely sharing a somewhat common trait. Of course with soft amusing tone, could be taken with sarcasm, given looking at her one wouldn't assume she was stronger than she looked. Playfully smiled.. Before Kory took her drink order in hand from the man behind the counter. Turning on her heels and motioned to the small table and chairs. It was a quiet spot, not many seated by. As Kory listened to Jean as she walked and took her seat. Putting her bag securely beside her on the ground. Resting against her chair leg. Bringing her hot chocolate to her lips and took enjoyable sips, before placing it on the table… So, not entirely new. Kory smiled and nodded. Her smile parted and ceased at the mentioning of the funeral. Instinctually reached out a hand to anything in reach. His arm. His hand. A friendly gesture.
"I'm sorry to hear you lost your father, how did he pass? So you are originally from Switzerland? I have never met anyone from Switzerland before, what's it like? It must really be beautiful there. Especially if it holds such well built and handsome men…"
Apologetic and as sincere Kory reached out with her gesture of a hand. He tender words. Tragic, unavoidable things did happen in life. Death was certainly one of them. With a soft kind smile, perhaps her words wouldn't offer the comfort if he was still the phase to need it, but it was there. Resting her chin casually on her hand, as her elbow rested upon the table. Invested. She was always a listener, perhaps a little forward as she in her sweet voice asked how he passed. Of course that was more of an invitation. He could decline as humans sometimes do or if he wanted to talk about it, she was all ears. Losing a parent was certainly something she knew a little something about. Despite moving on, didn't mean she didn't miss her own. X'hal even when they were alive and she had been dragged away from them on several of occasions, but through sadness there was some joys. In the sense there were good memories to remember them by… Though at the sound of switzerland that also took her fancy. As her eyes shone a little. Her cheeks glowed. Curious if even though he had lived in Gotham before, if Switzerland was his birthplace or was it just where his family had moved. Whatever the reasons, she was deeply curious. Mentioning she hadn't really been and she was adamant she had seen most countries this planet had to offer, but there was always more it would seem. There really was so much to explore. Asking him in kind what the country was like. As it seemed from far different corners of this globe, it was always a little different. The mix of cultures was certainly intriguing. She had heard a little of it. Perhaps seen a photo here or there. Her imagination made the shear assumption it was beautiful, but most places were in some way. Now her eyes looked over him again, as if a native of that country. Letting out a soft sweet laughter and wink
"Oh, that is sweet. A family-friend, you could say? Do you know Dick? I'm surprised he's not mentioned me, if you do. I'm his girlfriend." Responded in kind to the mentioning of Bruce. The connection. It would seem more than a simple boss and employee kinda of relationships. Friends. No, perhaps family-friends, as Kory spoke her mind to Jean… Not at all contemplating that Bruce even had time for friends, but at this rate she was open to the surprises… Though she was curious for someone that seemed to be so close to Bruce. Been to the manor. Wouldn't he have met Dick on occasion. Even know him. Kory kindly and curious asked Jean-paul, he least had to know of him despite not exactly close with Bruce at this time, but he was still technically his adopted son… Joked that Dick would have mentioned her, but wasn't like Dick was the most opened up man. So should she really be surprised if she herself was sometimes his best kept secret. Well, he wasn't here… As Kory introduced herself this time as his girlfriend. Whether this meant Jean knew of the night time personas, Kory could only guess. At Jean-Paul's accepting her invitation to sit with her and offer up his company. She kindly with a smile, raised up her cup of hot chocolate to potentially raise it and gently tap his. Cheers, in some respect. Taking a warm sip.
"I'm curious… Can I ask the meaning behind Jean-paul? Its truly intriguing and beautiful name, but… I'm feeling its suggesting you either pull jeans off really well or you have good genes… I'm feeling both!
Not really one to sit on a thought nor her emotions. Perhaps this was a silly thing to ask, though she was generally curious in the most sincere and kind way. Running his name over in her head, she liked it, it was just not a name she had heard of before and in most cases tamaranean names were very different… Though as she in kind listed the two thoughts that came to mind, perhaps that wasn't why, but she could certainly see that being the case. Warmly smiled to him, before her eyes set behind her glasses watched him take his own off. Along with his hat. X'hal, he defiantly wasn't lacking good genes. Her golden fingers toyed at her glasses. She would so desire to take them off and in many cases she did roam the streets as 'starfire', although in any case she always felt the same no matter than name. She was Koriand'r, but she couldn't remove them. It was less about protecting her and protecting her friends. She could defend herself rather well. Though she in kind noted his blue eyes. Golden fair hair. He really was what they could say. The golden boy… No… Golden man. Defiantly a man. With that height and muscles… Good in jeans? Kory curiously thought.
"Do you have any plans before heading to the Manor?"
Tilted her head a little as Kory laid out the curious question. Perhaps he was model material. As if an idea was roaming in her pretty little head right now. Of course if he was indeed free and up for it… Her glasses perhaps slid a little of her nose. Maybe a glimpse of her fully bright green emerald eyes.
