Abilities/Skills:
Since Roy was a child he has had a great deal of training in archery. Leading Roy to become an excellent marksman. of course with his early idolisation Roy also learnt a lot from the already well known hero the Green Arrow. Which all aided in his now incredible accuracy. As well as being well equipped with a Bow and Arrow. Roy is also has excellent skill in nearly all if not any weapon that is put in his hands. Even so on occasion proven he could make any object into a weapon. When he become a titan, it also vastly improved his skills, especially hand to hand combat and martial arts, a lot aided by his best friend Dick Grayson. As Arsenal along with his bow and arrow, he carried arrange of weapons. Even known to carry guns. Also known to have carried a rifle with a kryptonite bullet at least once. Has carried a boomerang, to a electrified bold, but more often has knives and billy clubs. Roy has also very great analytical and detective skills. Which aids him in many fights and missions. As also shown and known Roy gets his arrows when he needs them, by sneaking into a factory own by Oliver Queen, so far undetected. He is also known to know Japanese and to at the very least understand Russian. Also on a more personal level, Roy has a skill with guitar, although its unknown as of now if that is the only instrument he knows, but it certainly is his strongest. Along with a decent voice to go along with it, which aids in him to make some money that he can whilst being a hero more often than not.
Weaknesses:
One of the greatest weakness Roy has, is just simply being human. With all his advanced training and knowledge. There is little escaping what is true. That being he is without any additional nor special powers that he can rely on. No super strength, so he isn't going to win every arm wrestling match. He may have a quicker step than some humans, but he is no flash. That is a race he would undoubtedly lose, least cleanly. No flight, which would allow easy mobility, he just has some equipment to aid him from building to building. There is no thick skin or immunity, save just the fact he isn't generally unhealthy, but he can fall victim to injuries as well as illnesses. That can greatly effect him both as a man and as hero. Roy wasn't born in an overly wealthy family, in fact its possible, he was given near to nothing when his father died and course when given by Queen, it was taken away. It has just often been opportunity that he's had at least a roof over his head, although there has been not overly long, but stints on the street. Given lack of funds, he's resorted to stealing in order to obtain his supply of arrows, though he's careful not to do it so often so he isn't caught. What money he does happen to make, he'll generally put to good use or try to save, but often his alcohol addiction will dry it out a little. His addiction is something thats been a little up and down, always intending to overcome. Usually when its there can come with a depressive state of mind. Even so much so as attempting to get himself killed. As not a well known fact, generally only the closet would perhaps know. Roy was diagnosed with Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in his early teen years. Much of which Roy has out grown as he's come into his young adult years, but he still suffers from symptoms on occasions, usually present in his personality and behaviour. It generally doesn't affect when he's on duty as Arsenal, but does come out from time to time in varies of ways. Whether from talking a lot, impatience or simply saying inappropriate things. Which he does have a tendency to swear, its unsure if it is down to his disorder or just simply his personality. As if needed to, he does know when not to swear and it isn't just tied down to anger. Nor does Roy really have a too outrageous anger, but doesn't mean he is always so peachy.
Appearance:
Arsenal is by all counts the hero persona of Roy Harper. He isn't overly dressed to hide in the shadows. Not that he cannot portray a little mystery, but with the main colour being red, it is defiantly not the hardest to miss. The red has a brightness, but there is also a deepness, so it would allow for a little blend in the shadows. The fabric is tightly against his body, but defiantly with the ability to still move. Pants, belt and a sleeves top, along with red boots. Red gloves to help balance those arrows. Most is covered by lets call it his 'Red Suit', but his arms are left bare with much display of his tattoos. To best help disguise him and put him under cover, he has as a thin, nicely contoured red mask, with white lens. A top of his head is not a red hood nor a feathered cap, but he wears generally a trucker style cap. The cap is generally dark in colour, but he sometimes changes the cap. So it isn't the same as often, but hardly anyone is looking at his cap to notice a great deal. As many maybe distracted with one of his arrows pointed at them. Which he generally seen with a decent amount of red arrows in his quiver strapped nicely upon his back. On his belt is arrange of usually tools and equipment. As he is known as Arsenal, he has a lot more hand held weapons than just his arrows, as of course no two fights are ever the same. Finally Arsenal is seen with a lengthy set of red hair, thats just a little unkept down a little of his cheek bones.
Roy harper is undoubtedly the man behind the mask of Arsenal. He is not as flashy, a lot more dressed down, although his dressed down kind of ways is reflected a little in his Arsenal look, but of course not to the extent. Roy is a tall man, but is certainly not a giant. He is roughly five foot eleven to about six foot. So average height for a hero. He has a pale enough complexion, though it does brown more than it will burn in the sun. Less often if it is winter. He has hasn't the most muscular body type when put beside many of the other heroes in the world, but he defiantly has the right amount suited for his smaller frame. He has an arrange of tattoos, which in the way he dresses will sometimes hide them or partial hide them. it will vary. At this point he'd lost count as too how many he has and he's not been the most up front with what each tattoo means, but they undoubtedly add to his appearance in both personas of his life. In his day to day life his clothing is laid back, although he has a natural way of making clothes look good on him. He is a good looking man, not overly glossy, but it isn't hard for him to attract the opposite sex. Generally jeans and tee shirt. Singlets. He can get formal when it is required. Simple jackets depending on the weather. Often his clothing can show a little wear, but just add to a little rock vibe or really just how Roy is. He can also been seen with a guitar from time to time which help support what musical career he is aiming for. Roy has darker hair closer to black, he tends to wear a red wig as Arsenal. He did used to have dyed red hair and its unknown whether or not he'll revert back to it, but it is always an option. Along with his dark locks, he also have dark set of eyes to go along with it, which he is quite known to given a very intense stare, that often melts the heart of women if they can handle it.
Personality:
If there be the simpler way to describe Roy Harper, in one word, it could possibly be a 'Underdog'. There has been a lot of up and down throughout his life, probably more down than he would like, but through it all he's managed to keep on going. With minor breaks along the way and even on occasion contemplate giving up. He is in his heart of hearts, a good person. Just like most if not all humans, he has made mistakes. Maybe more so than others. Having been generally a lone in various stages of his life, it has fallen upon him to make many of the decisions thats effected his life and because of certain things he's done, can often question his own judgement. He's probably not on the top of his list of who he trusts the most. Roy is quite loyal to his friends, though can hold a grudge if he is ever betrayed, but it of course will depend on the betrayal. Probably the biggest key is that Roy cares. He cares a lot that it could almost be too much at times. He tends to not judge others for their mistakes, but will often offer to help. Especially in relation to addictions, something that he's had experience with. He generally has a good head on his shoulder, he wouldn't say he's a brainy dude, but he's certainly sharper than many may first believe. There is undoubtedly a confidence he has, or least can project. He often will push people to get a rise out of them. A sort of playful way to poke fun at others, but not with the intention to hurt them, though when taken to far someone like Dick has certainly reminded him. He was diagnosed with ADHD which added to and effected his personality/behaviour as a teen. Most of which Roy has grown out of, but still effects his personality from time to time. Resulting in a need to move, often in his hand gestures. Can at times talk, ALOT. Be impatient depending on the situation. Say inappropriate things, such as swearing though it seemingly more just a case of being an adult, he can control in the proper times to do so.
Despite his set backs, it hasn't killed his pride nor ambitions. He greatly enjoys archery since he was a child. As well as weapons and has a lot of passion in being a hero. Everything that in entails. He would if he could be on his own, but with the lack of funds he has, its wise to stick with a group and friends. Finds joy in a more music format, which offers some way to obtain money in the tighter spots, but does it firstly because he loves it, also has talent for it. Often will be seen at a local bar or small gig from time to time if booked, or just on the street with his voice and guitar. Which generally adds to sort of rock vibe in his style, He isn't the most fashionable, but he isn't a complete bum, just laid back, but with a touch of sexiness that seems to just be a natural trait. He does have a bad boy streak or least the perception and when in a fight he sure is tough. When it comes down to the women, he defiantly has a lot of charm, that more often than not will go a long way. He's never truly hurt a woman, least not intentionally and would never be unfaithful. He defiantly loves women. When he falls in love, he can fall hard. He is very good in the passion department. He's had the more serious relationships, but has had one night stands when the moment has presented itself. Though commitment doesn't freak him out and has proposed in the past, marriage or kids isn't something he's going out of his way to seek. Though if presented he'll deal with it when its there, but just won't live in what could be. He just can't predict the future and often just wants to be in the moment. He has had his heartbroken in the past, which he still feels. He has been cheated on in the past, so there has been a little bitterness. He's not as mentioned been unfaithful, but will see no harm in at least looking at other girls, just won't act upon it. Can be guilty in stringing girls along, but he's generally good at taking care of women. Because of his great love of women and thinking they are deserving of being treated special. He does have a strong dislike against the jerks that do hurt women, doesn't believe in hitting a women, so often will find ways around it if he faced with the opposite gender in battle. When in the comfort of home, Roy is known to be more laid back… Upon return will often throw his gear of and just remain in his underwear. He can be a little messy and unkept, although its never gotten out of hand. Though with all his troubles and serious sides. Roy is in his heart a genuinely caring guy, that likes to make others laugh and smile.
Background:
Roy Harper was born in a small populated town in or around Arizona. For whatever the reasons before Roy was born, he has never met nor does he even know his mother's name. His father Roy Harper Sr a forest ranger raised Roy in his earliest years as a child in and around the Navajo reservation. He also began Roy's first introduction and training with arrows. Unfortunately a fire had struck the reservation whilst Roy was still quite young. Roy was unharmed and would survive, but it would take the life of his father. Roy would then be taken in by a navajo medicine man by the name of Brave Bow, it is unknown how, but Roy's father had saved the man's life at some point. With now living with Brave Bow, he further advanced Roy's archery and marksmanship skills. To which has lead to known mastery skill as we know presently.
In his growing years as a child to a teen, Roy had come to idolise The Green Arrow. Given the connection in skills and of course given the fact Arrow was a hero. Something that had come to be a desire for Roy at a young age. To best improve himself and worthy of the emerald archers attention. Roy entered into an Archery contest. Which though Roy had down well in, he evidentially lost. It did manage to grab Arrows attention. He praised and encouraged Roy to continue in his pursuits. When a situation arose Roy had helped Green Arrow in stopping a robber in which he had quickly drawn and fired an arrow. Which Green Arrow commented to the young boy at the time, that Roy had been "speedier" than he had been and made Roy his sidekick. To the public Roy Harper had become the benefactor and foster child of the billionaire pretty boy Oliver Queen. Of course behind the curtain, Queen was training Roy to become his sidekick. Eventually a time came when Roy was given his very own suit and would be dubbed "Speedy". Not long after receiving his mask at roughly aged 14, that Brave Bow died. Leaving Queen the only father figure in Roy's life. Roy certainly looked up to Queen and had great respect. Although as the time would reveal more of his beloved hero and idol, the more Roy would be open to seeing Queen's more addictive personality. Which initially withdrew some of the more ideal views Roy had in the older hero. To which as Roy was older enough to realise and see the uglier sides, the more wanting his desires came to want to become a hero more in his own light. Although not to discredit all that Roy learnt, but rather than follow to point, Roy took a lot more what was in his own heart. Even though Roy was still very much figuring that out.
In his mid teens, he however came by chance a run in encounter with the then Robin, Dick Grayson. With initially with already a lot in common. They naturally hit it off and would become friends, eventually best friends as they are today. Robin was sidekick to Batman much like Speedy to Green Arrow, seeking his own independence at the time. Eventually leading to the young heroes to start up the Teen Titans. Also would lead Roy to changing his name from Speedy to Arsenal, although often being called Red Arrow by others, but Arsenal is the more official codename. With other younger heroes. One of course being Wonder Girl otherwise known as Donna Troy. Roy was immediately drawn to the young amazon, it wasn't long that the two would date (It should be noted it is hard to say if this was the first girl for Roy, but was probably certainly the more involved relationship in his younger years). There was a couple of times the Teen Titans would split, which put an end to their dating, but would often get back together as the group did. Roy even one time in a spur of love, proposed to Donna, but Donna having been warned by a future presented by Lilith, that Donna's red headed husband would die, Donna turned down the proposal (although Donna would go on to marry Terry Long, who would become the red headed husband that dies). Roy though broken hearted, always would have feelings for Donna. Even so much still has the dreams of Donna being the mother of his children.
Roy would find an attachment to many ladies, often not lasting long. Although did meet a lovely girl at a gas station whilst in his high school years. He madly fell in love with Jane. With his charms, Roy sweet talked her into falling in love with him. It became a lengthy relationship, but also rather rocky. Very strained at any given time. Though still civil, Jane just doesn't like the man he was becoming and the hero side was a little too much. But for much of Roy's teen life was spent on and off with the Titans. Around four or so years. There was many time spent and many friends made. Though when the times got rough. Especially during a disbanding time, with Donna breaking up with him and not grabbing Oliver Queen's attention. Roy turned to alcohol, it came more harmlessly, but has come to be hard for him to control or even kick. It was up and down with the disbanding and trying to survive, given Roy had little money. Having Titans allowed a roof over his head. Donna as a few had helped him, sometimes it even worked. It was going good when the called Titans were together. Up until recently when tragic hit the group in a way that changed everything. During a mission which led the group to be in contact with Indigo, an android of the future. In their mission they also came in contact with a Superman android which would kill both Lilith and Donna Troy. With the damaging heart break and strain it put on the Titans. The titans leader, Nightwing ended the group. Whilst Roy would try to stop Dick, it is a no win battle. Though Cyborg, Beast Boy and the likes of Starfire, are all that remain. With the intentions of recruiting a new Teen Titans group… Roy aided for a while, but being distraught himself by the loss of the first he truly loved.
Roy was much left in limbo. For unknown reasons at this time Queen would kick Roy out of his position as benefactor and remove all stocks given to Roy. Literally disowning Roy and leaving him to his own devices. Taking a little solo stint, which generally allowed for his drinking habit to return and increase. As Roy fell into a more depressed state with little of a roof over his head nor a great direction. So much that led Roy into an encounter with a villain, attempting to basically get himself killed. A death wish! Not before the villain realises Roy's intensions and soon stops the fight. Although doesn't disclaim any future mishaps they may have, but refuses to do Roy's dirty work. Instead, offering Roy a little advice and pep talk. Which seemed enough to shake Roy up and realise he needed a change. A good one. Whilst also in his attempt to officially and hopefully for the last time to kick his drinking habit. Roy is in need of help, only friends he really has are former titans. With no group now, Roy looks to maybe start something new and different in a group. Upon hearing that Dick Grayson, may have similar intentions. Who is in Bludhaven, but not entirely alone. Roy in a spur calls up Kory also known as Starfire. Not one to ever give up on a friend in need. She insist he come and move in. To least give him a house for the time being, whilst still distraught by Donna and effects left over by the depression. Roy is currently in transition in coming To Bludhaven. With his guitar in hand and Arrows in the other, which are unknowingly stolen from a Queen Factory. Roy is on a path of redemption and to find at the very least his feet in this crazy hero world… Not long after arriving in Gotham, Roy begins the first roots in building a new team. A different team, group of heroes than that of Titans. Simply going by 'Outsiders'. It is suppose to be all business, not as close as Titans became. Least that is what Roy told and convinced Dick. Eventually assuming overtime, they would become to care about the teammates to a degree, maybe not like before. Of course a top of a new position as a leader, it would be a little shaken with a new arrival. One of which Roy certainly does not expect and changes him hopefully for the better.

Was this is? Was this all that was left? There were many more questions possibly circling in and around Roy's head. Mostly he could say there was just this massive black cloud. No matter how much he would hope for it to strike him, it just never did. There wasn't a lot of anything. More just unable to go back or forth. It was being here without feeling it or least not feeling what one wanted to feel. This was about the time he could laugh. Just say this was close to going down the insanity road, but general rule of thumb those that were insane wouldn't admit to it… No, there was grasp on it… Least somewhere. As Roy's slightly worn fingertips upon some random strings of his guitar. Other hand moved up the neck. Roy sat upon some stone steps, some couple feet away from a bus stop. Resting casually against a wall. Knees up which naturally helped cradle his baby, his guitar was really only thing left after so many years. He wasn't too much one for material things. As a little shown in his clothing choices, that he was dressed badly, it was just your basic, but there was just that little something from his attitude. Cool probably wasn't the word, he never overly thought he was, but he had always beat to his own drum. Ironically as he was playing with notes with his guitar. Just randomly mostly, it just allowed a place for him to do something. To simply sit still. Do nothing, just wasn't always easy for him to do. He always wanted a challenge. Something to pull at the thing in his chest.
This be the time when Donna would greatly compliment him and just be straight with him, he was just thinking nonsense. As it did then, he couldn't stop a hint of a smile. It had been some weeks? Or perhaps more so. It was hard to tell, Roy wasn't as much, but he was still finding himself thinking of her. Of Donna. As if like nothing happened. He could almost envision her. Right now. As his dark eyes looked in a space, that Donna almost filled. With the natural way her dark locks bounced with each eager graceful step she took along with the unique curve of her hips. Enough to offer a tightness in Roy's own throat. What could he say? Falling in love had been so random. Falling out, was just so much harder. As Roy almost looked down as Donna's own captivating eyes fell upon him. As if almost pondering his day dream, but as quickly as he looked back. There was no trace, save the shallow feeling he wasn't so good at filling. His chest rose as he took a deep breath and easily fell back into where he was now. Least physically, but he had very little. Not that he was used to having a lot, but not having a home off and on. It wasn't ideal, more he wasn't sure it was good he was getting used to it. Reaching out… it just wasn't him. To be the one admitting he needed help. Perhaps it was a bit because of his pride. Stubbornness to admit it. Often things had just be fallen on him. Though in the truth of it all, he just didn't want to be someone else's problem. Though someone you'd least expect reached out and this was why he was here. Although he had yet to make the call. He was going to take up a friends offer, of if he ever need someone, he knew he could count on her. Especially having been so generous so far as to allowing to use her place in New York. Roy needed support even he wouldn't say the words and he also need more direction in his life. Rather than the spiral downward direction.
The sight and sound of the bus finally pulling up. Was just the beginning. Least to something a lot better. Roy of course was more optimistic than one would think after all the slips he's had, but even it doesn't seem like to him, they have made him stronger. Every time he's soldiered on, he's become a better man for it. As Roy regained himself to his feet with his boots that have seen a few wears through the years. Swung his guitar over his back. With a small back in land, which what? Held his closet. A couple of shirts and an extra pair of pants. Shorts if he really wanted to change it up and maybe a jacket. He already wore his rugged dark hoodie for some protection, he wasn't much one to complain of cold. His arms covered so his tattoos which were like family to him weren't visible, save a little that peaked at the top of his t-shirt. He would on occasion allow his facial hairs to grow out, which generally didn't take a long wait. So he was a little rough around his chin and lower face area, but not anything wild or dirty. Hair dark with minority styled, but he hadn't taken a great deal of time into it. Just as soon, he stepped upon the bus. Fiddling for the ticket in his pocket he'd managed to obtain with what change he had. Got on the bus and soon took a seat a little past the middle section. It wasn't an overload of people. Least not yet. So it fell more on the quiet side. Then it was also late in the day. The sun was in the down direction if he was one to really take the time to watch a sunset by himself… Ok, maybe confessing a little… Whilst Roy unzipped a pocket of his travel bag. Pulling out a phone he'd managed to afford, although he was probably in need to get more credit at some point after reaching Bludhaven. With some natural scrolling, it wasn't long until he dialled the phone and it rang by his left ear. As soon as the bubbly voice came, with already with the knowing of who he was. It wasn't hard to feel a little relief. Along with a little more warmth. "Greetings gorgeous! I'm taking you up on your offer… If it still stands… I'm already on my way!" There was no need for a great conversation, although a small one did continue… Much would be left to later to discuss, but Kory was never a hard one to be inviting. Least not as a friend, just hard to understand, but really what human made perfect sense. Roy was certainly not close!
