Gotham city was yet again in the dark of night. With shadows looming and creaks around the corners. It seemed a still night. One had to be daring to walk the darker streets. Especially to hang out in the alleys. If one kept an ear out. Even an eye. Just looked. There was always more that what appeared on the surface. As a creature of the night, senses open and the mind aware. As The Serpent's hands took hold of the ladder. Silently climbing out of the tunnels underneath the city. The smell of the chillness and toyed at the hairs on her neck. Not bone chilling. Eyes zoned around the empty space. Though still picking up on the vibrations. As Serpent climbed further out. As she felt the ground move and bend. It told a map. A story. As she faintly put her ear to the ground. There was a haste. A chase. One footing so light, that she could just make it out. Close. A few corners. As she zoned in a little more. Got a feel of the direction. Soon disappeared into the shadows. As Serpent followed the trail. Her target. As soon. There were the screams. A cry of help. As the shadows had led towards a back alley area of apartments. The sounds were muffled to the rooms above. Catching the flash of a small child. A looming man behind.
Tailed closely. To wait for that moment to strike. Her dark eyes sense every next move. It wasn't much of a leap to see where this was going next. As the alley fell short. There was no way to run away. Not when faced with a brick wall. Just Serpent edged herself closer. The little girl was aiming for the stairs. The fire escape. That survival instinct. Her little hands managed the little jump to reach. This was the moment. As Serpent zoned in as the man wasn't going to back down. As Inch by inch. The Black Serpent came closer out of the shadows. The darkness. Still not lit with light, but her eyes sure gleamed a touch of reflection. Silently made some distance as she crawled along the ground. One faint moment she stopped. Soon the man aimed for the stairs. His hands upon the railing. The sound of a growling hiss curled lightly at the creatures lips as she leaped. Lunging herself and commanding a hold upon the guy from where he hung from the stairs. Her nails dug into his skin and flesh of his legs. Attempting to climb. As he echoed in a bellowed pain, but he wasn't without his guts. He hadn't expected this. Her. She was still out of his sight line, but soon came the kicks. The thrashing about. Even though her hold was strong. Eventually Serpent slipped from her hold and landed squatted a top of the ground below. At the moment the man above turned to look down. It was nothing but an empty space. As if she had never been. There was that last look of curiosity in his eyes, but regained attention on the child. Who stumbled up the stairs. There was some distance between, but not for long.
Serpent wasn't completely off her target. As out of the shadows. She hooked a leg around a post. A railing part of the fire escape. Swinging herself up with ease. As her hand soon found another as her knee came against the post that faced vertically. Hooked her ankle and wrapped her other leg in front. Fingers took hold before her. Pulling herself up with upper body strength as her legs followed. Climbing up. As her eyes pin pointed the movements and the near struggled. She could smell the fear. Even the tears. As Serpent swung over another pole. Just beneath the flooring where the man had the girl cornered. Watched the footsteps so close above. Her hiss from her lips echoed out again, but not that it be easy to exactly locate where it was coming from. As her hand took hold of the edge of the flooring above. Silently save for the low hiss. Pulling herself up. To crawl a small distance on the flooring. Appearing shortly behind the man. As Serpent slowly grew to her feet. As the man turned to look at her. Serpent cocked her head innocently to the side. As if to playfully toy with him. Her hair was out tonight, which wasn't often, but strands of black hair fell over her face. Framing the faint glimmer of danger in her eyes. She bore an attire of black. Mostly leather. With black boots at her knees. A black skirt that cut mid thigh length. A small top, her stomach bare as well as her arms. Hints of studs. A leather jacket that covered her top and skirt. Hands half bound with black fingerless leather gloves. The moment the man saw her. He hadn't taken her seriously. As soon he turned back tot he child. At which Serpent growled deeper and with her fast reflexes. Matched his movements.
Coming between him and the child. The half dangerous smile and silent laugh. As quick without much of blinking. Serpent had lunged out of a coiled position. Her weight crashing upon him. As her fangs between his stumbles and bad attempt to throw her off. They soon sank into his neck. As she made some savage sounds as she injected just enough venom. Felt him stumble again. No it wouldn't take long. As Serpent felt the limpness. As she let go. Feet back upon the ground. The man lingered a little with what he could, but Serpent merely had to put a hand to his chest. His body fell backwards. Breaking into some railing, before they snapped and he fell upon the garbage below. Where he belonged. Serpent growled lastly at the sight, before settled the muscles in her face. Upon the whimpering sounds behind of the child. Turning to help. This still wasn't the safest place in the city. Not for someone so innocent. Though the moment she turned. She was faced with look of fear. As motioned closer to help. With the faint blood trail at her chin. The child whimpered more, before a scream echoed again. "I won't hurt you!" Though even as Serpent said with all the truth she could, it wouldn't be that easy for the little girl to believe her. As girl coiled further away into the railing as Serpent took even a step. That look. Was all too familiar. Of when she was first faced with being what she was now. This apparent creature. The Black Serpent!

So far not much had happened while Wulfen was out on his patrol. he was mainly trying to get used to his new costume. He felt that he needed to get a new costume that would be easier to replace if he were to change into the Werewulf and tear it up. it was still a work in progress but he had settled on a style he liked. He wore a pair of jeans with a belt and an old surplus battle dress top that was a dull grayish color. Over this was a Native American cloak made of a wolf pelt that was draped around his shoulders and had a small latch around his neck keeping the cloak from falling off. On his feet he wore a pair of moccasins designed to have a vaguely wolf like appearance. And to top all of this off he wore his ever present cowl like mask that had the form of a wolf's head. Complete with glasses built into them. He had also picked up two weapons. A Native American bow and arrow set withe wolf fur on the bow. And a Native American warclub with a rounded ball on the end. The handle on the club was curved much like a hook and it had a wolf's head carved into it biting down on the ball end of the club. The arrows were blunted and were more meant to stop those who were out running him. The reasoning for the Native American style he had adopted was because as Victor he was always getting his hands on things that were historical in some way. Even if they were replicas of the real things. And so no one would question him for buying all of these Native American items at one time. Or at least they wouldn't question him any more then they normally would. And if they did all he needed to say was that it was for a hobby or an act or something along those lines. And he knew he could use a bow due to the fact that he had used one at a colonial fair his uncle had brought him to one day.
As Wulfen patrolled the area and practiced with some of the new moves he could try he heard a cry. He quickly stopped and looked around trying to figure out where the cry came from. When he heard it again he realized it was actually rather close. He moved over to the side of the building he was on and crouched down keeping himself low. He saw a man lying on the ground after having been bit by the woman that was down there. The woman was now turning to the little girl.
Wulfen made his way down to where these things were happening. When he made it down there he placed his club into its loop on his waist and made sure his bow was in a place he could grab it easily. "You might not want to scare her to badly ma'am." he said clasping his gloved hands in front of him. "Now if you wouldn't mind telling me what happened and what you plan on doing to the little girl?" He asked keeping himself polite and calm but not wanting to seem like he wasn't capable of fighting back if he needed to.

Black Serpent was still upon one of the platforms, just above the mid level, but not exactly at the top. So there was no really clear sight, save a few motions of shadows and perhaps a glimpse if one was to pay close attention. With the night surrounding them and the silent Alley, it was seemingly dead, but one was wiser to know better. As with one foot Serpent took in ways to comfort the brown headed girl, curled in the corner of the railing. Serpent was in the way of the stairs. There was little ways for the child to go, but to simply let the girl run freely on her own, would most likely be the death of her. Especially in a city like this at night. With little ways though around it with her getting this reaction even another step wasn't helping. Serpent lowered where she stood some feet, squatting closer to the ground and more eye level. As her eyes tracked the ground before trailing upon the helping child. Hugging her precious companion. Just the sight of innocence made Serpent smile and a little less creepy. She was still human and a girl. A faint breeze blew, just enough to tousle her hair and a reminder that she was life. Spirit. Very much so. "I'm not going to harm you, but it isn't safe here… Do you know where you last saw your parents? Guardian? I can help find your way!" Zahira again reassured the girl, there seemed to be that faint look in her eyes as if the child was trying to believe. Whether it was something Zahira said or how, but there was still the hesitation and Zahira couldn't blame her. She was a stranger, but who knew how friendly the next stranger would be. Zahira needed to least get her to somewhere safe, no matter how long it took. As Zahira slowly spoke up asking of her parents, a guardian, but the girl merely shook her head.
Whether it was to that or when Zahira offered to help her as the child clamoured a little more to the railing. "No? Well, I'll just wait with you. If you don't mind? Incase you change your mind." Zahira in a slightly more warmer way of speaking to the girl as she would wait with her and Zahira took a seat where she had crouched. To keep her safe. Even though the girl didn't reply or even exactly nod. There was something with her eyes, that seemed a little more relaxed. Trust? Was maybe over putting it. There came a warm half guarded smile of Zahira. Of Serpent to the child. A little lighter side of the creature and a small smile came from the child. It eased a feeling in Serpent's chest. There was still fear in the air, but less. That she could smell. See. "What's your name?" Came warmly and oddly causally from Serpent's usual darker tongue. As if there was a hint of an ease between the two girls. 'Amelia' Came softly and sweet. More a whisper, but Zahira caught it easily. As if a simple gesture to properly introduce themselves as such the child struggled with a shake in her voice. To ask in return of Serpent's name. She couldn't say Zahira. "The Black Serpent, though where I come from the children sometimes call me, Cobra." Zahira didn't hesitate as she responded in a more friendly tone. There was the little etching in the child's seating at her name, but it was less surprise given Zahira's state. It made more sense. In Egypt as Zahira had meant, she had a few known names. Of course The Black Serpent being the proper and most know, but she has sure been called or nicknamed others. Cobra seemed a more popular with the younger people, which seemed to ease the girl a little more, but she was still warming to the fact The Black Serpent was before her. At least she seemed less likely to find a space to run. Zahira didn't want to chase her, it would only make things worse not better. As if her mind a little off track, but her sense soon picked up the trail she hadn't managed to focus on. Something new within the space. Another presence? The Serpent smelled an odd scent. Her ears to the slightest sounds and movements. Her eyes sharply trailed curiously around the fire escape beneath where she sat. Following the echoes. The sounds thumped within the beat of her chest. That approaching sound. Almost like the soundtrack of jaws, but slower. More unpredictable. Least for now. As her instincts went into alert and protective mode. "There's someone coming! Just stay here… You'll be safe! Do you trust me?" Serpent spoke in a much lower voice directed at Amelia. Motioning her hands subtly to keep Amelia where she was now, there was no telling if there was only one coming now and not a gang that followed. This could be a trap. It could be nothing, but when did that ever happen in Gotham City. There was hardly such a thing as a night off. Softer as Serpent asked, there was still hesitation and sure the smell of fear, but Amelia nodded at least trusted her enough. Because there be less chance of her kinder side exactly shining through and more the serpent side. The dangerous side…
Serpent had subtly motioned to a crouch still facing the child. Her simpler facial expression became more hard and stern, as a voice came from behind. One should never. Never. Sneak up on a snake. Who hadn't been taught that cornering one was also very dangerous? Ma'am! Well, that was maybe a first. It defiantly was least at to how Serpent was greeted. Not paying overall attention. As her fingers faintly scrapped her nails along the floor, before turning on her feet. Facing the unknown man. Settling more in her crouch. Her right knee bent with more of her weight upon that side, but not greatly as her left leg was a little more out at her side along the ground to where her toes sat ever so lightly upon the ground as also with her right foot only the bottom of her toes ever so much touched. With slightly angular twist with her body. Her left hand out more before her. Her fingers upon her left hand touched lightly like a claw upon the platform of the fire escape. Her right hand/arm was more by her side for now as she was in formation for her *mantis stance. Dark eyes upon the target or at least man. Who the hell was he? As she felt him out, every inch of her skin crawled trying to wrap all her senses around him. Find the secret. The serpent didn't fall victim. As Serpent smirk with the faint glimmer of the clouds moving just over the moon to give a hint of light upon the surrounding darkness below, still a faint stain of blood, even of venom as her right hand motioned to wipe it with her thumb, before dropping her hand back in place. Calmly Serpent tilted her head to the side at his words. His more demand. With dark hair locks falling a ray upon her dark complexion. Her eyes pinned upon him. As her chest calming rose at every calming breath. As her eyes gently ran over. The cloak. There was a hesitation over the mask. The details. A Wolf? So for someone demanding. He sure wasn't sharing first. "I should warn you, I do not take kindly to being snuck up on or being cornered. Do not think to trick me Big Bad Wolf, you didn't even say please!" It was a great darkness to her voice, but there was the warning for sure. It sure had sharpness, but really who liked being cornered? She was just less likely the one you'd want to rub the wrong way. As her eyes ran over him with a faint expression of the discomfort that he had entered made her feel. To then demand. Like a wolf in a sheep costume. What difference was it to see a man in a wolves. As if please had been the most problem about this situation as Serpent brought a little amusement, perhaps a hint of mockery to what he had just come in and asked. To a stranger. Not just a stranger, but to her. "Is that pointed at me? I sure hope your aim is good… Do you like to play rough?" Serpent remarked the bow. The possible arrows as her eyes faintly danced with that hint of sadness. Was she that thing that needed to be hunted down? The whole pitchforks and torches? Though her eyes gently moved over them and the wolf with less threat. As if her eyes danced behind her lashes. With a touch of allurement. He was a wolf. His own instinct. Danger. A Predator. Was he really a big bad? Or did he simply want to play? Fetch? As Serpent's gaze danced with what she could make of his under the mask, a natural glamouring, as she spoke half as if she was welcoming him at his aim practise. Even half expressing a smile as she questioned his rough play. Save him taking his placement with Amelia. Keep him fixed on Serpent. He may just be harmless, simply a man in a mask, but it wasn't a good start to come from behind like he had. Less fear. He was seemingly smelt peaceful and calm. Too calm? It remained to be seen and if this wolf planned to blow down the fire escape. Were they just in the way of something greater he had in store? Looking Amelia did have a red jacket, hood. Really when did tales and reality become one? *Mantis Stance

Wulfen inclined his head slightly when she mentioned him not having said please and not liking being snuck up on. No one really liked to be snuck up on. Or at least no one he knew, He chuckled slightly when she called him the Big Bad Wolf. "Ok well........ I'll tell you mine you tell me yours. Deal?" He said keeping his ee on her and her fighting stance. Or at least that's what he assumed it was. "I'm Wulfen. And no its not pointed at you." He said tilting his head slightly at his bow that was on his back. "But I am willing to play rough if I have to." He said taking his club out of its spot on his waist and gripping it in his hand.
He stepped back with his right foot keeping his left foot where it was. And he brought the hand with the club back and held it behind him slightly. He was ready to fight but only if there was no other way. He felt somewhat odd with one foot being on a step above the other. But he didn't worry about it too much. Instead he simply kept his eyes on the stranger and kept himself aware of any sounds. He still had to work on keeping aware but he was getting somewhat better at it.

The Black Serpent remained in her calm state. Firm and yet intended way she crouched before Amelia. Her mantis stance. Dark eyes did not move much from their target. The man dressed as a wolf. The scent, it was a mix of familiarity and yet something else. The fainted smirk crossed her lips. So a wolf could find amusement? Was it generan or was it more sadistic? It really didn't matter. As in the slightest move Serpent jolted her head, the hair falling to show more intent of her eyes and the raising of her brow as he was going the route of asking her name. As if Serpent was the kinda to accept deals with someone she had just met, yes he was seemingly clever. "Oh come on hon, your smarter than that!" Serpent teased through the sharpness of her teeth. With the toying amusement upon her lips. Serpent hadn't asked for his name, he had offered... Serpent wasn't as forward, besides it shouldn't take him too long to figure it out. There was little rise in her reactions to hearing his name was Wulfen. It wasn't a great leap given the costume. As her dark eyes scaled to his bow strapped to him and Serpent shook her head slightly as she lowered her expression. Before regaining her own target. "So, it is just for show and tell?" Serpent threw the question at him as if the arrow was not pointed at her now, she knew he'd aim it somewhere and at the tilt of his head.
Serpent could almost catch the direction of his gaze... Too Amelia? of course, but not while Serpent stood between them. "You might want to pick your prey with a little more fighting chance..." Serpent toyed mildly, of course there was every reason he could not be the bad guy, but he shouldn't just pop up and be so demanding. He may have claims, but Serpent wasn't one of them. Just as soon as his words ceased out popped his weapon. The club, for whom really? Serpent had faced a lot worse as she settled a little more in her stance. As if in preparation. No weapon, Serpent was the weapon. Reached out her hand towards him with the teasing of her smirk. The dark tousled hair in and around her face. "Then let's play!" As if a voice out of the dark. The shear chillness down ones spine. There was still the faint whimpering sounds of Amelia behind Serpent. The little girl clutched to her childhood bunny, but exactly who was she afraid of now? Just as the serpent took to accepting the challenge or more intend it. Just as it seemed the black creature was about to be creeping and crawling all over his wulfness, she then melted further in the shadows of railing. The darkness with just the outline of her shape and the lasting glow of her eyes. Just abled insight to see. To know as Serpent took from her stance and with mild sounds, grabbed onto parts of the railing. Not needing the stairs as Serpent slithered and climbed her way. Disappearing upon the railing above. As if the faintest hint she may have ran away, save the little scattering sounds that echoed down below. To maybe offer him a chance, but in this life there was little room for chance. Leaving Amelia and the wulf alone below. Possibly a trick all her own...

Wulfen kept calm and held the club in his hands keeping an eye on the strange woman. He wasn't going to let her harm the little girl. He didn't want to fight her but he was willing to if she made a move towards the little girl. He wasn't going to harm the little girl either. He kept his gaze ahead and his club was held somewhat behind him. It could still be seen but he was holding it in his hand like a spring ready to lash out at her if things went bad. "Right now its just for show. But I'm willing to use if if you leave me no choice." He said looking over to the girl to try and reassure her that things will be safe.
When the strange woman vanished into the shadows Wulfen looked over to the little girl. He knew the woman was probably still there but he wanted to let the little girl know he wasn't going to hurt her. "Are you ok?" He asked crouching down slightly wondering if his new costume still scared people who saw it and thought of him as a monster. He hoped that it didn't scare this little girl too much right now. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'll take you down to the police station if you'd like. I don't want to scare you or anything." He said then he sniffed the air to make sure if the woman was still there. And it seemed she was still in the area but he wasn't sure if he was smelling it because she was still here or if it was just a lingering scent.

There was no need to go head first into this so deeply. Not so quickly. He was but an intriguing wolf in the cool dark night. Much as the Serpent could observes was masked in a great deal of darkness. The general fairy tale of meeting a wolf in the midst of the night? What generally was the rule of thumb there? Because for he was concerned he had stumbled in without an invitation with such demand. Such desire to claim. To claim that he had little stake in. Her scent couldn't quite determine the alignment of someone. In his case just in take of the furry smell. Despite if he was more man than a hairy wolf. Though he did attempt. Like the wolf in the sheep clothing. It half felt like that test that something so open couldn't trick you, but Serpent was always cautious. If no one else would, someone had to be. The more pressing thing. Rather poetic that she could almost gleam an amusing smile. Is his own stance and even in the slight jolt in his own movements. Her dark eyes pin pointed it. The angst. As if there was much of a riddle there, not that she was underestimating him. Serpent knew well that stepping into or out of the shadows like this wasn't completely false courage. But… His ready to lash out was expected. "We always have a choice." There was no hinder. No hesitation within the sense of the growl in her tone of voice. To see limitation was to create a facade. A mirage as it were, but to say she left him with little choice was someone playing a fool's game. In which Serpent smirked. Before she had coiled back into the darkness. Taken within the shadows above. Rather offering this wulf a choice. Perhaps a chance? Or perhaps not. As she echoed a dark laugh, but it too sank dead within the shadows above. Rattled away by the slight movements upon the metal. The creature lingered. Always aware.
As with little time wasted and rather little surprise. The wulf prompted himself directly at Amelia. The little girl that clung to the corner bars of the platform. It was a chill born night, but with the added fear in the air. She shivered in away her eyes shone upon a nightmare possibly becoming reality. So tiny and innocent. So out of place. The Serpent did listen. Halted in her judgement and lashing out. Upon the sincerity in his voice. The caring tone, but it was going to have be more than caring words that could truly convince her. Within the slats, Serpent could see the scene below. Just as well as hear and smell it. Even hag taste it. Her skin raised as he approached Amelia. Almost causing her to cling more, but realising she had no where to go… Cornering the child? Smart move… Smart move… That's not to forget she had, but she didn't push further, she came to her level…. Right now. It was plain to see that all this girl saw was a big bad wolf… Well a poorly disguised man, but it wasn't helping have a giant wolf head. Cowl! Leering down upon her. Because naturally one trusts the wolf. As she watched with care and intently. She could see Amelia hesitate, contemplate answering his question, but as she looked up. Looked at what was before her. The little girl whimpered and held her stuffed friend even tighter. She with that faint shake of her head, as tears of pure fright stained her tiny cheeks. She had shut her eyes as he approached half hoping it was a dream or he'd disappear. Then he did go to her level and that Serpent perhaps could see something. Even Amelia as she opened her eyes, stopped whimpering for a moment. Still hesitation, but there was an intriguing calmness about him. Then in his attempt of assuring words, there was an hint Amelia believed him, but as he spoke more. The more it seemed the words ran something else. She had wanted to believe the big man with the soft eyes, but that hadn't been first time she had heard those words that night, least most of them. In which her whimpering grew more and she screamed. It wasn't as if someone would come up and say I'm going to hurt you, now do you want to come with me? Not that Serpent thought the Wulf was speaking lies, but he needed better convincing. Shortly after Amelia's screams, there were additional sounds nearby and the scent or scents that followed…
Serpent kept herself aware of it, whilst a faint growling hiss came from above the wulf and the girl. She had given him his chance. Silently in her motions. With just perhaps a faint shadows if one was to look up. Crawling along the floor until her hand was at the edge. This was maybe more the spider side of her training. As within the depth of the shadows she clung now underneath the platform she was on, just inched above his head and a little behind. Her blackness made it easier to blend in. A little more promptly a hiss came from her lips, but in the shift motion if he turned his head. She wasn't there. In that time Serpent had motioned more directly above him and in a flash of darkness. She leaped down, wasn't far. Her knees coming at either side of his neck. To his shoulders. With the twisting grip she took and arched back with flexibility to her hands on the ground in the attempt to flip him over upon his back if anything. To promptly find a momentary seat upon his waist. To crouch upon him. With a smile and a hint of laughter. She could almost catch a little more light in the girl's eyes in the corner, but Serpent was still something one didn't easily be unafraid of. Her half gloved hand ran a bare finger up his neck to the tip of his chin. Just as she pulled her fangs out, she turned with a look into the darkness below in the alley. She could pin point the coming figures. With oddly weird shaped cowls of their own. "So the Big Bad Wulf, is really a pup!!! Friends of yours?" Serpent began with a hint of humour in her voice, she suppose she even got a rise out of Amelia with it as she looked upon the Wulf. Before Serpent asked with a rather dark tone about who was approaching, but from the scent of things. They may have nothing to do with him, but Serpent was guessing they were trying to find Amelia. For whatever reason that may be, it was involving harm, by the looks and that wasn't going to go down so easily. Perhaps the pup could be helpful… If he could play fair?

Wulfen put his hands up in front of him and did his best to show that he wasn't going to hurt her. "Don't worry. I won't do anything to you." He said before he just sat down. After all sitting down went a ways to showing that he wasn't hostile right? He smiled kindly and hoped that it didn't make him look scarier or anything. "I'd take this off but if I did I wouldn't be able to see that well." He said pointing to his wolf mask.
Wulfen noticed something strange in the air. Some scent.... Or was it scents? He wasn't so sure which it was. He looked around then heard the hiss and stood up slowly so as to not frighten the little girl any more then she already was. He proceeded to look around for the source of ht his then let out a yelp of surprise as he was knocked to the ground. The next thing he knew he was being straddled by the same woman that he had seen before. He looked up at her and got ready to try and fight her off before he noticed more smells. He looked over to see what it was she looked at then back at her. "I don't have any friends that- They're not my friends." He said in response to her question. Ok this was all strange. Here he was pinned to the ground by a woman... Something that wasn't exactly new to him. Just never in this way. And there was a little girl here in need of help or at least it seemed. And then there were these other people showing up. What else could possibly happen?

Standing or sitting. He was still a stranger in a mask, but then a real mask or not. He would still hold the card of mystery… Was it so worth the risk? Perhaps more so for someone wise enough, but who could really justify that with age? It was still there, but to not take any leaps. Was that not also a risk? Who could truly know. As Zahira had seen enough from the cracks in the flooring above their heads. The girl was certainly not any more terrified, but to say she was overly comforted was probably not the case. There was the faintest nod, perhaps in response to his words, but too a little wound up from the situation to speak. Not that there were few places for her to run and hide. Well, he did have touch on his tone… Genuine? But quiet and the quiet ones could just be as dangerous.
Or could they really? Zahira playfully questioned in a swift motion. With his simple yelp of having the wind knocked out of him as the slithering creature, had crept upon him. The upper hand hadn't been overly hard and with the closeness, she could smell. Hear the tightness in his breathing. Both from the position perhaps and her presences. A little taken by the action. In more ways than one. As if questioning what was happening. The whys. The hows and so on. He was newer at this. As her brown eyes coasted up the line of what skin she saw of his neck. Dancing a little watching the pulse, before eloping to his eyes. With an intended smirk. Seemingly less of a threat, before every blink. It was only the beginning for him. Her tilted a little, black strands of her hair fell around her eyes simply as she believed his words. Even with the scent close to her nostrils, she could sense his tension and from looking at the dark clothed men… No, defiantly wasn't one of them. Her eyes snapped to Amelia, who's whimpers now grew. As if of knowing. This wouldn't be the end. "I believe you, but you might have one for now… Truce?" Serpent then said simply, stating as her dark eyes fell upon his with more warmth, than the cold blood. Keeping her tone low enough, so not to spook a cat or otherwise below. She wasn't one to really team up, not that she was against it… It well, the opportunity hardly arose and it wasn't as if she often needed one, but it wouldn't hurt. As she questioned an temporary alliance. They were potentially here for the same thing… To save the girl, that seemed hardly a thing to keep bickering about. He didn't appear to be the seeking glory kind… She wasn't one for credit, not that she didn't leave something behind, but generally she was gone before she was seen. "Now I'm not going to convince you can trust me… How ever you came to be here, whether you looked up in the sky and saw bird or you fell into it… I just hope you know what you're getting yourself into…! Not that I will hurt you!" Serpent didn't want to lecture or really go down this conversation, much. Some clarity needed to be there before they started. Particularly there was no telling how long he'd been a hero, whether it was just an act for impression or he real skill and if those skills were in checked. Naturally it wasn't her problem, she could deal with it, if it became a problem and it wasn't so much about trust. For her, trust was proven and earned, but there touch of honour extended. As she teased mildly about not hurting him… Maybe a little test.
As her lips drew in his breath ever so subtly and her eyes pulled his in. Whether a kiss was expected or not. Sweet nothing, turned into her fangs aiming for a little jab at his bottom lip…. A nip if you were. No venom involved. Just a little adding this wasn't about trust and how little the words, I won't hurt you really meant. Also to show she toyed, she was serious. "As for question… I am Black Serpent… Now that we have officially met..." Leaning back off of him, but kept low… It appeared they hadn't been spotted. As the sounds of metal was heard. As the men looked through the bins and piles of trash. Any possible hiding spot, it was only a matter of time before they came looking up here and it might be best to keep that from happening… "Do you have a game plan, Wulfen?" Serpent asked extending him a chance to work with her if he want and if he was one to seek a leadership. Not that she had a few suggestions of her own as her eyes looked to him questionably. "I would suggest going to them, before they get to us! Keep it grounded!" Serpent subtly suggested to the big bad wolfman, not that she was about to put a collar one and lead him through it… Sticking mostly to what they knew, probably work for the best and who knows. Maybe in the middle they may work decent together. Her eyes shifted to the little girl after she spoke, as if a way to say to lessen the risk of her being taken or frightened more. She had seen plenty tonight as it is, but Serpent knew they wouldn't want to take eyes off completely. So far she knew she was aware. To do this correctly.

The closer the Serpent got to his face the more Wulfen tried to pull his head back and away from her. He didn't even know this woman! He was just here to make sure the girl was safe and to make sure she got home safe and then this woman attacked! And now these other people........ What was going on!?!?!?
When she nipped his lip he tossed her off quickly. Not in an aggressive manner, but in a manner that showed he wasn't all to comfortable with this situation. Then he got up and stood to watch the men approaching. "I don't have a plan. I didn't think any of this stuff would be happening." He said in response to this 'Serpent' asking if he had a plan. This was only the second time actually having someone else around that was wanting to be on his side.
He turned to look at the little girl and gave her a reassuring nod. Or what he hoped was a reassuring nod. "Stay here. You'll be safe." He said before turning around and drawing his club back out again getting ready to fight. He kept his eyes on the men but spoke to the Serpent. "I'm not much one for attacking. So I'll let you take the lead." He said keeping himself calm and ready to defend.

There was inches. Even had there been a lot of space between the two. The Serpent could have smelt it. No even felt the fear lingering in so many ways off his flesh and much deeper. More closer to his bones. Especially the veins and muscles surrounding the big lump in his chest. The way he breathed it was not a new rhythm for her, but whatever cards he may have seemed lesser and lesser. It was more questionable now… Why was he here? If only to curl in a corner at the first sight of a threat and Serpent was sure she was not his worse threat in this City. Her lips seeped a chuckle though at his forceful shove. Generally she wasn't easy to push, but damn least he was showing something. Some fight within him, even if it was only short lived… Could he live up to more? She could feel the potential, but what was it if he did not seek to go to limits to obtain it. She remained low for sometime, before she risen and back shortly behind one of his shoulders. As not to create to much of a shadow for the men below. Light finger teased almost at the touch of his neck, brushing the hairs that she didn't need to feel. With a low echoing chuckle at his ear, before she smiled. She had no time for scolding the pup nor getting into a conversation over everything. Could she really teach him? Certainly felt like the leash was in her hands, not that she was ever that controlling type, but if he was thin incapable as he claimed. "My dear, if you don't have a plan… Then go by instinct… I would have thought a wolf had more bite than this, but if you are not a hero nor a man… What are you? If you cannot own up to it, then prove it… No one will take you seriously… If you don't!" Serpent directly spoke to Wulfen. Offering him something, anything that may stir whatever drove him to be here. To through on a mask and play hero. Serpent was a little sharp with her words, but she minded only a little if they hit a nerve. Least get something other than fear. Why come this far only to stop halfway.
Her eyes looked from the Wulf and too the men below. There was maybe what? 5… Yes, seemed 5 was the lucky number tonight. With a little spread out as they looked through some of the scraps. Moving deeper into the darkened Alley as they go. In a matter of minutes. They be more directly beneath them. The act was needing to be sooner than later. If it meant she jumped alone or with an ally, it needed to happen either way. As her gaze from behind her new companion, looked to him and then the girl. Such heroic words, Serpent smiled more warmly. "If you came to save Amelia, then save her…" A little chosen words, perhaps a voice of reason, but he seemed to despite his fear, be making the choice. That seemed to be the driving force so far and he wasn't going to be saving her without going through the hurdles below. Not that she was someone that fought with emotions on the line, but she knew that many others did.. Her eyes barely blinked as he pulled out his club… It certainly was clobbering time. Her lips returned a more humorous smirk at him choosing to follow. Naturally so far he proved he was not one for taking many risky shots, but she'd happily make the first move. "I'll get their attention…. You go right! You'll see what I mean…." Serpent had faintly nodded at his words, but didn't entirely wanted to be holding his hand the entire way, but she did know they were out numbered. Not that it frightened the creature, but playing smarter usually worked. As Serpent motioned from behind him. Crouching at one of the railings of the platform. With a mild command or suggest how ever it was intend. For him to go right after she'd making her move. Keeping it short of words, but basically he'd be freer to choose to attack first or go on defines. Which ever was best for him. Even if he simply helped her fight them all, then so be it. As her feet balanced along the edge and disappeared within the shadows.
Hanging with as little sound as the creature could along the alley's wall. The shadows were defiantly her friend. Watching. Waiting as the nasty men motioned further in the space. Not quite directly beneath, but closer for sure. As in the bellowing night of all that creaked and a cricket there. Out seeped a mellow hiss. Bouncing from shadow to shadow. It barely raised a notion. It wasn't always required simply get the feel of the fear. Though in a little they're ears pick up. Eyes looked left and right. One simply saying its just snake, forget about it. Easier said than done, it seemed. Though as they motioned a step onwards. Out form the shadows. The Black Serpent appeared behind them after a heavier hiss. Landing at a crouch, before slowly rising to her feet. Moments the men did the same. Her lengthy dark hair half fell at her eyes as she looked upon them as if through them. As if they were nothing but an addiction to the game. In her left hand pulling off the ground the lump of a body of the man previously she took out… Not dead, but defiantly more limb. "Looking for someone?" Serpent stated questioningly with a dark smirk, as she toss the body with effort as the body wasn't exactly light. On the ground before her feet. Gaining their attention. Drawing them in as a Snake should. Leaving it open for a sneaky chance on the other side now. One way to at least split them up or least gain some ground going in. Appearing strong helped.

Wulfen did his best to keep some distance between himself and this strange woman. There was just something about her, he couldn't quite place his finger on it either. He didn't want to try and find out either. When she brought up the word 'hero' he raised a hand simply to make a point. "I've never once claimed to be a hero." He said simply. There was no aggressive quality to his voice, no stand off feel about it. It was just a simple statement. And he never once took his eyes off of the approaching figures. He may not have had a plan but he certainly was trying to think up one.
Before he could mention the thought that came to mind the woman was gone. He watched her leave and move off into the shadows and cocked his head to one side before crouching down. It seemed that the battle was on.
He crouched and put his left hand up on the railing keeping himself behind the railing so he wouldn't be seen. He held the warclub in his right hand and at the ready. As soon as the men were underneath him he would drop down and- Then he saw the woman step back put and start to draw their attention.
He calmly and slowly climbed over the railing and then made his way down on the ground. He looked at the men and thought the idea copying a wolf like movement. He crouched low and slowly moved up behind them not making any sounds...... Or at least not intentionally making sounds. Once he got as close as he thought he would he gave off a howling sound that sounded much like a real wolf, all thanks to Lupin, and then struck at the nearest one hooking the club around the man's leg and pulled it out from underneath the man. He then jumped up and rose the club into attack position ready for the men to advance.
