So, some of you know that I have a Sims 3 obsession. (And if you didn't know before, I suppose you know now.) One of the things I like to do with my game are these things called 'challenges' where you play the game a certain way, and I stumbled across one that just may allow me to merge my Sims 3 obsession with my Batman obsession. Let me explain further: In this challenge you essentially set up the game like one of those reality shows where all the contestants live in a house together and they kick people out of the house once a week - I believe this most closely mirrors Big Brother. And rather than telling any of these Sims what to do like when I normally play the game, I let the game's AI take over and all I do is document what happens between the characters. I'll probably start a blog or something to upload it to and give you guys the link for your viewing pleasure. But I thought that it would be a fun twist if, instead of making the 'contestants' randomly generated people, if I instead took the characters we have in our forum and used them. See, all of this randomly generated AI behavior tends to make fun things happen - things like people falling in love, making enemies, or leaving something on the stove for too long, which results in a fire, which results in someone burning to death. In other words, lots of fun random chaos! But what I need to do to start this is to build a fantastic mansion-style house for them to live in (not a problem!) and also make the characters themselves (which is quite a bit more work). I'll have to tackle the job of trying to make the characters look like they should myself - probably with mixed results, I'll have to warn you since I don't like to track down custom content for my game so I'll have to do my best with what the game provides me. Some Sims will probably only superficially resemble the characters they're supposed to be, and most will have to be their 'out-of-costume' civilian selves in appearance though where possible I'll go with the costumed appearance - Edward and Joker with their fancy colored suits shouldn't be a problem, but I won't be able to give Bruce a mask and cape. But the other thing, and what I could use some help with is picking traits. See - every (grown up) Sim has five 'traits' that govern most of their behavior, and would therefore make the Sim behave more like the character they're supposed to be. (Teenagers get 4, and children get 3 - though I think that Phoebe is our only 'child'.) And while I know many of your characters well enough that I'd feel somewhat confident getting it just about right, many others I'm not so sure of. So here's how I'm going to do this: - All FCs can consider yourselves automatically signed up for this as even without your input I can probably do a halfway decent job of creating a Sim, though I still very much would like their player to help me out by picking their five traits for them. Or, if their player can't/is MIA, someone else in the forum if you think you know the character well enough. I'll do the best I can with the rest.
- OCs are not automatically signed up, but are very much encouraged to do so. The reason why is since you created the character yourself, I don't want to force your participation if you don't like the idea of seeing a representation of your character possibly die horribly or fall in love with your least favorite FC. (And on the other hand, I assume that everyone's already used to seeing their favorite FC doing such things when in the hands of someone else, and that's why I'm treating FCs differently.) I promise that you're much more likely to have fun with this than hate it, but I'm giving you the option.
- I reserve the right to accept or reject any submitted characters for any reason - and I'm only stating this now because there are any number of reasons why I will or won't be able to accept a character for this, some of which I may not be able to anticipate until it happens and I don't want anyone screaming that I'm an unfair meanie.
Now, to sign up or help pick traits, simply give the character's name and list off the five (or four, if the character is a teenager) traits. I'll take care of all the other details.

Notes: - First of all, I know that this is a long list but the vast majority won't apply to your character so sorting through them should be a quick process. But it's easily possible for your character to have more than the five (or four, if a teenager) allowed traits. What you're looking for is the 'top five'. - I suggest quickly going down the list and noting all the ones that apply to your character and then picking out the five that seem most important to the way your character normally behaves from those. - Also, any trait that 'conflicts' with another means that you can't pick both of them at the same time because they contradict. - Please note that all of these are far more expansive than my descriptions suggest - I only wrote them to answer the 'What does _____ actually mean?' question.
