Lisa was furious, she had this problem in Manhatten but in Gotham it was ten times worse. The corruption in the GCPD was thirty seven percent. The cops who were corrupt just helped the mob beat the case that Lisa was convicting, they destoyed the evidence. Now it was time to tell Gordon that if he doesn't stop the corruption, Lisa will. As she walked through the door, people started staring and stopped what they were doing. Lisa didn't respond and kept walking toward Jim's office. She had seven files in her hand, her briefcase was at her office, and she was ready to play hardball with anyone who got in her way from Jim's office.
The secretary was almost baffled as Lisa easily walked past her, and opened the door to Jim's office with sharp attitude. The door closed just as the secretary was about to enter. "Jim, I have been a lawyer for eight years, corruption has and will always be a problem, but I expected more from your department on this issue. Seven cops just screwed up my case, destroying evidence and recieving pay from the mob." Lisa gave him the files. "You've read them, no doubt. If you don't do something about this, then I will charge them. I have the evidence, it's only a matter of who I can trust to get it out of storage."
Lisa knew the cops had families, some with children. But corruption and bias deameanors don't go past Lisa Novak. She told the Newspaper that she would lower corruption, the hard choices needed to be taken. The FBI would only do so much in this issue, the corrupted people will probably screw the FBI's plans too. Tiffany should cleanse them in holy water.

Jim looked up to her simply. He wasn't angry, in fact if he was taken aback, it was her passion. It was something he'd not seen in a long time. "If you have the evidence, I can get you it from storage. I want corruption to be stopped, and if you're willing to convict them, I'll support you. The only way they're going to see the error is to be punished. Jail time would make a statement, sure it'll make some view you with contempt, but I respect it. I'll help you."

Lisa was somewhat reluctant and happy that Gordon agreed to help her. "It will take time Jim to write seventeen charge forms. How are you though you seem troubled?" Lisa picked up some sort of exhaustion spewing from Gordon. Was it Tiffany? The man had been working with the most arrogant FBI agent Lisa had met. Gordon also had a wife and son to take care of. The man worked probably just as hard as Lisa did, if not more to keep the city intact. Lisa sat down and looked at Gordon, "Jim if there is something you want to tell me, tell me. Tiffany has been everywhere taking files from cold cases, etc. He has kept me and the D.A office out of the loop, is he planning something big?"

Gordon nodded, "Anything worth it takes time, but if you're willing to be patient, then I can be too." He smiled grimly. "Raising a family, keeping an eye on Tiff, and being forced to work with him...It can take a lot out of a man. That's what God made coffee for. I make my own." He grinned.
But at her final question he went quiet and looked around the room, eyes coming to rest on the door before he nodded. "He's planning something huge. And he's going to fail and Gotham is going to fall with him. Call it intuition if you want. There really no evidence to prove it."

Lisa knew what Gordon was saying and she was glad that he was on the same page with her so to speak. Tiffany was getting out of control especially since his plans were altogether too risky and people sided with Lawyers, Mayor Garcia, and Comissioner Gordon. People liked them more so than the FBI. Yet most people didn't trust either of them, it was Lisa's job to gain back that trust, she already had overwhelming support in her polls. Crime has dropped 5% in the past three weeks thanks to Lisa and Gordon. "Jim maybe you need to take some time off, how's your daughter Barbara?"
Lisa enjoyed small talk especially when she admired someone, she trusted Gordon more so than the other police officers. She didn't trust Tiffany at all, she was going to file a complaint with the FBI but it wouldn't do any good. She had called all her friends in Washington, Seattle, etc and they were saying the same thing. The Judicial System was kept out of the deal on purpose and the courts had too many issues to preside over. Lisa almost felt like she should apply to be a federal prosecutor, but then knew that she did more good here than in the federal courts.

Jim looked at her seriously before he sighed tiredly. He wanted to agree with her, wanted to take a personal leave of about a week. He rubbed at his jaw; he felt like he'd need a month in all honesty, but finally he shook his head. He couldn't take time off.
"If I leave, Tiff will not be monitored. He doesn't like me, I don't like him, and I'm not going to allow him to destroy my city in his own path of destruction. He might go down, but Gotham will not. It might have to limp, but it'll survive if I have any say in it." He told her gruffly and then his eyes moved to the picture of his family. "Barbara is doing fine. Absolutely fine, she's a smart kid." He smiled fondly.

Lisa wanted to get to know Gordon on a personal level, because they agreed with things that were simple and had similar theories on matter's with the law. "I'll need the DNA kits from Storage. I'll give them to the medical examiner to swab them for fingerprints on the files and evidence packets. And If you could get me the security camera tapes, that would be great." Lisa looked and saw that Gordon's coffee was out, Lisa remembered that she had just got some from Star Bucks and had an extra one that was still quite hot. "Would you like a cup of coffee, Jim?" Lisa rose from her chair and walked back to her office grabbing the cup and the walked back up the stairs. It took her five minutes. She walked in and placed the cofee which was hot yet smelled really good next to Gordon.
"If I didn't have coffee, I wouldn't be here." Lisa looked down at her clothes, she had scheduled another trip to Arkham to visit her Ex-Fiancee Chris Olliver's room. Then as she was thinking about it her eyes started to tear, she still blamed herself for his death. She didn't cry but her face was getting somewhat red. Her lips sealing and moving like the ocean waves. She closed her eyes, then opened them. She felt bad, especially because she was slowly deteriorating. The D.A. saw it, the detectives saw it, now the Comissioner of police was seeing it.

Gordon looked up from his perusal of his family photo and nodded, “I'll get them to you.” He'd have no problem with that. He too had his own methods and he'd not kept his job as long as he had without them. If corrupt cops could scare him, he'd have been out of the job already. At her question, his eyes shift to his mug, picking it up. She was right; it was indeed empty.
He smiled, “That would be-” But when he looked up she was gone. When she returned with the hot coffee, he took it gratefully. He was about to thank her, when her whole disposition changed. He knew a woman in distress when he saw one. He moved to stand.
“Ms. Novak, are you alright?”

Lisa was about to answer when the news was on the tv in Jim's office. " Breaking news, In a stunning turn of events Gotham Central has suffered a massive firebomb attack, people are rioting in the streets, no sign of Gotham police yet, though we can confirm that a thirteen bodies have been found in the river, one of them identified as Jason White who was being tried for rape in the second degree."
Lisa was shocked, she had promised to protect the boy who was seventeen, and now he was dead. Probably killed by some molestor or friend who was also being tried. Lisa was now in all sadness, no longer was it about Chris, she got up from her chair and walked to the other side of the room, where there was a window, she put her head down and began to quietly cry, even a few tears fell from her face, but she remained crying without touching her nervous eyes. A few sniffs of her noise reminded her that this was her fault.
She saw Jim come from the back. "I made a promise to him... and now I see his body on the news." She was mortified and was now beating herself up about it. "I should have done something gotten him a police escort." She shook her head subtly, her eyes and face had red highlights in them.

Jim's entire thought process stalled at the report. Immediately he was on the phone in his office, calling for back-up, putting on his own police gear, though his heart went out to the woman. He came up behind her, and placed a hand on her shoulder.
”You had no way of knowing this would happen, but the focus is now on those who could be hurt. You should stay here.” He told her softly, squeezing her shoulder, feeling bad, but he was needed in Gotham Central.

Lisa was feeling better already. Jim sentimental feeling was helping the mood, she shouldn't be beating herself up about something that she couldn't prevent. She saw him put on his jacket, and walking out the door. The man had left before she even realized it. And now she looked like a emotional wreck in an office that wasn't her's nor was it even ideal.
She left her office feeling different and complex. It was unproffesional to almost breakdown like that in front of a friend and fellow employee of the Government. Lisa walked past the police officers who were walking out and seeing riot police walk out of the office as Lisa walked out. She walked across the street seeing riot police hold back a crowd of people who were veryy angry, then molotov cocktail was thrown in a nearby shop and the flames engulfed the rock burning whatever was inside.
Her pace quickened and she got into her black Hyundai Elantra, closing the door and heading out of her reserved parking. She drove back to her apartment, taking out her hair dyer. Lisa was a natural red-head but it was time to change things. She called a local place, and grabbed the blonde dyer that she was going to dye her hair. The place was almost done, but she offered to pay extra for a hair cut and straightened hair.
It took about twenty minutes, now almost midnight. The riots were still going on, the woman was in her forties at least and was tired. Lisa looked in the mirror. "Thank you," She was impressed with the new look. She payed the woman extra and got back in her car driving home where she went to sleep.
The next day she took a shower soaking off that shallow outcry. Lisa Novak was a fighter, she didn't ever give up, and she wasn't going to leave because of that break in her armor. She drove down to Jim's office getting out of the car, noticing burned paper and trashed cars. She shook her head, but moved forward. It was a new day and it required a new look. She walked to Jim's office, some cops liking her new look because of the looks she got.
She opened the door to Jim's office, "Hey, Jim. I'm sorry for breaking down, but I would like to talk about the FBI, even though we hate talking about it I don't know how long it will be till either of us get arrested on some charge, but we need to keep our offices informed about things." She sat down looking at Jim with compassionate eyes.
