Adella was still relatively new to this asylum, though they had gotten her records from the last place she had lived. She was generally very well behaved, compliant and even friendly when she could manage. She simply had..."episodes", moments when she would seem to lose touch with reality, and these were frequent. According to her extensive file, at least, she was generally more of a threat to herself than to anyone else.
Today she seemed to be doing fairly well, or at least she thought she was, and she got to go to the recreation room! This was exciting, it meant she would get to interact with other people! Then again, it was kind of nerve wracking, it meant she got to interact with other people. As she made her way into the room, escorted by a very nice lady guard (at least she thought the lady was nice), Adella glanced about the room.
A couch. A television up high where no on could reach. Some love seats. A larger table and smaller one with chairs, all bolted to the concrete floor, and a few board games it looked like on the bigger table. It was rather pitiful, especially compared to some of the other places she had been to. She stood in the doorway, nervously tugging at the over-sized shirt she wore for a uniform, they couldn't convince her to wear those ugly pants. She glanced about the room wondering who to try and talk to or what to try to do, when he eyes locked on a piano.
She smiled, she had always loved music, and sometimes the spirits were nice and would show her how to play. She moved with the bright smile of a child with a new toy to the piano.
"It'll be so pretty!" she decided, taking a seat on the bench (also bolted to the floor) and then noticing it was locked shut. Someone had added a pad lock to it, keeping the keys out of reach. How sad! She turned a confused glance to the nearest orderly, pointing at the lock, but he ignored her. Slumping, she decided to give the lock a few tugs, but it wouldn't budge. she stared at it, and tried to think of what else she might do. perhaps she should talk to someone? Her therapy people had always told her it was good to be social. Hand still wrapped around the lock, she began to glance around the room and see who was there.
