[/b] Babs said, with a smile. She leaned in again and this time she was the one to kiss him. She figured they could both stay in tonight, Gotham would be safe in the hands of Batman and Batman alone tonight. A single day off for the both of them would not result in the city becoming overrun and destroyed. They both deserved to have a night off once in a while. "Let me bandage your leg," she instructed softly, her right hand still around the back of Dick's neck, and she was looking up at him. "And maybe we can work on something to support it better," she suggested with a small smile. If they could make something to give his leg extra support when he was patrolling, Babs could rest easier knowing it would start to heal faster even if he was placing pressure on it. [/ul]

Dick was glad she had not pulled away from him. And when she had said thank you, he returned the kiss she given after her words. As he pulled away at the end of it, he looked down at her and smiled for the first time since they had gotten into the issue. He was content having her there with him. This was what he wanted. He wanted her.
He gave a light sigh of relief that things had come to how they were. The smile still on his face as he looked down at her. "That would be great," he replied to both her ideas. It would be great, he'd finally be able to spend some time with Babs and he wasn't going to protest about anything further that day.
What they had just gone through was too much for him. He realized just how easily he could lost everything. And yet, all this time, she had been there beside him. "I'll try not to be so insufferable," he said half jokingly with a small smile. He rubbed his thumb gently over the back of her left hand as he still held it in his right hand in a caring way.
He let go of her hand as he placed his back on the handle of the right crutch and supported himself again. He really hated to let go that time, but he needed to get around the place. Dick turned slightly ready to head over back toward the couch. He took a few steps forward, but seemed to be waiting for Babs to come along with him.
Never had he realized just how much he wanted her with him. Dick wanted to figure out something to show that he meant it. That he wasn't just talking and that he was going to follow through with trying to change the way things were. He stopped and turned back to her again. "Maybe between all this today we could find something to do together, that doesn't include an injury or the vigilante stuff," he said. He was going to give it a break for the day on the endless research. He was just going to spend time with Babs. "Maybe I could wipe up something for dinner just for the two of us and we could have dinner on the balcony outside your room," he suggested, referring to the spare room as her. He couldn't imagine anything better to do that evening than just maybe sit out under the stars with her.
"That's if you want to," he asked. Just because he was staying in didn't mean she had to as well if she didn't want to.

[/b] Babs countered, feeling bad for what she'd said earlier. She certainly hadn't meant to suggest that at all. Sure, Dick could be a pain, but it was a pain she was more than willing to put up with no matter what. Babs was perfectly happy to put up with it, in his small doses. That was just how Dick was - often overly chatty and incredibly endearing. It was unavoidable, and sometimes his chattiness wasn't always of the happy variety. "Something that doesn't include and injury or our vigilante stuff?" Babs asked. "Does such a thing exist?" she smiled. She looked across at Dick, the bandages in her hand. She unravelled them and looked up at him when he suggested that they eat dinner on the balcony tonight. She paused briefly, frozen in that position before a smile spread over her face. "Who are you and what have you done with Dick Grayson?" she smiled. "That sounds lovely, and potientally injury-free, depending on your cooking skills," Babs replied. She was taken aback at his offer, but she wasn't going to turn it down at all. It sounded great - they hadn't been able to spend a great deal of time with each other recently, and Babs was glad he was going to take up her advice and stay in for the night. She was even more glad to hear his plans about how it could all turn out. It seemed to her like the shopping she'd done today had been completely appropriate. She couldn't remember the last time she'd actually taken the time to have a proper meal rather than something quick. She was prone to eating things through out the day to keep up her stamina, but proper food - away from the Manor where Alfred cooked, of course - was almost unheard of. She thought of sitting outside on the balcony and enjoying a real meal with Dick sounded like the best thing she could ask for right now. "I can't think of a better way to spend the evening," she smiled. If she wasn't going to be shot at or beaten tonight, she might as well be sitting at home enjoying a meal with her boyfriend, right? Dick laughed lightly at her question who he was and stuff. He knew how different it was for her to finally get the chance for just the two of them to have some time together. Considering what he was offering, it was out of the ordinary for the two of them. Their lives had never been normal and never will.
"Just because Alfred cooked all the time doesn't mean I haven't tried my hand at it," Dick replied. "Besides the meal at campus aren't nearly as good as what Alfred could cook at the Manor." He had taken the time to wipe something up. But not all that often.
"Besides, what about you? I've never seen you cook before," Dick replied teasingly, trying to take a shot at Babs knowing how busy her life was. He made it over to the couch and set the crutches off to the side. He saw down once the crutches were out of the way. He left a seat for Babs beside him.
He went to reach to take on of the ace wraps from her to start working on his leg a bit himself. He was looking forward to spending the evening between just Babs and him. Actually, it kind of felt good to just relax for once. He couldn't remember the last time he had actually tried not to think about the vigilante stuff before. Thought, he did want to be on the streets, but what was one night going to hurt. There were others out there that could watch over Gotham for just one night. "Me either," Dick replied.
