Name: I Hacked the Security System Summary: Tim Drake, having recently discovered the secret identity of Batman and Robin, breaks into Wayne Manor to confront them and gets more than he bargained for. Characters Appearing: Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, possibly Bruce Wayne, and Barbara Gordon if she wants to -- The window of the main gigantic corridor in Wayne Manor opened and Timothy Jackson Drake came in from the inside, trying to be as sneaky as possible. He hadn't done break-ins before. He just wasn't that kind of kid, a delinquent he meant. But still, when you know who Batman and Robin are, and how their security system is just a computerized system that you could have dealt with when you were eight, well, you get tempted. Yes, as the dear reader of this post may already have figured out, Tim hacked the security system of Wayne Manor and disabled it. "Well, its been entirely easy, so far," the young twelve year old muttered to himself under his breath, as he looked around at the largely unoccupied empty space adorned with expensive gold statues of gladiators, knights and all those ancient warrior people lining the walls. It was like one of those creepy mansions Scooby Doo and Shaggy always ended up in. It didn't help that, it being evening right now, it was relatively dark, and the lights were largely off, with only a couple small lamps being lit at the far side of the room and the rest of Tim's light coming from the moonlight through the windows. "Looks Batman-y so far," he murmured to himself, feeling giddy with excitement. He then walked around the place, before spotting a door. "Must be my way outta here," he said to himself as he began to walk towards the door. EEEEEEK EEEEEEEEEK "What the hell was that?" said Tim, looking all around. He had heard something like a bird squawking echoing throughout the Mansion. Following the squawking noise, Tim found himself in front of an old Grandfather clock. Looking at the clock he saw a bat was trapped inside. "Hey little guy are you trapped…."EEEEEEEEEEK EEEEEEEK "Wait, you're a... Drake you are a genius! Bat equals Batman! Alright Alright… I'll let you out, but you better not bite me!" Tim spoke to the bat, as he grabbed the face of the clock and pulled, but as he pulled he inadvertently hit a secret button. The clock slide backwards and lifted up revealing a set of stairs leading downwards. "What the…" went Tim, as he saw the stairs. He turned and looked behind him to see no one there at all, the bat having escaped out of the room. Tim shrugged his shoulders and ventured down the stairs. As he went down the stairs he noticed that it was getting darker and darker. Feeling along side of the wall as he walked deep into the cavern he felt a lever towards the end of the stairs. Grasping the lever, he pulled it up and there was a spark of electricity. Lights began to turn on in the cave. "Whoa... repeat, Drake, you are a genius."Tim spoke to himself, awestruck, as the lights began to illuminate the Batcave. First it was the Batmobile, then the bat computer, next it was all of the souvenirs that Bruce had collected and then the final lights illuminated a set of cases. His grin widened in delight at what he saw in the cases; he had been so right! He saw the all of the bat suits. He started going down the line looking at each suit. He looked at the original Batsuit, the newer Batsuit, the Batgirl suit and the Robin suit. "I... but, where are...?" he began to wonder where the Dynamic Duo were. They weren't in the Manor, and he couldn't see them in the Batcave. Well, he hadn't searched the whole Manor yet but...

Evening had come on sooner than Dick had hoped. With all his classes that day, he felt wiped out by all the new up coming assignments. Yet, it wasn't enough to keep him out of the gym to work on his acrobat skills with a mix of gymnastics. That was the one plus side to staying at Wayne Manor rather than the college campus. You usually had everything to yourself. No one was ever around. And Dick knew that. It had been that way since he was a kid growing up in the halls of this mansion.
Sure Alfred was there, but Alfred was dedicated to his job and strict when needed to be. And Bruce, well...Bruce never seemed to be around unless they were working as Batman and Robin. And even then lately there seemed to be a wall built between the two of them ever since Dick had joined the Titans. Though, since he got back a while ago from everything, Dick wasn't helping to tear down the wall between them either. He only seemed to be reinforcing it. Even Batman and Robin where hardly ever together any more. It seemed Batman always stepped in at the right time, but it was always the wrong time for Robin. Especially, the whole thing with the Scarecrow.
With all his latest blunders, Dick had only pushed himself harder and gotten more frustrated with how everything was now a days. He couldn't talk to Bruce, he had a feeling he wouldn't understand. And With Babs, she had already made it clear that she did not like the idea of change and pretty much told him he needed to stop thing about what could be and just leave things the way they were.
The job of Robin was becoming less of himself and more of just keeping up the work and image of Batman and Robin. Speaking with Catwoman had show that to him more, and he had started to separate himself from the identity of late. Criminal or not, Selina was right.
Yet, there was still a bit of joy in the job and in these times, and that was Babs. Dick always looked forward to seeing her around campus and on patrol. Since they had started dating, Dick had put more time into making things work between them, She was about the only other person Dick really did hang out with any more.
Dick focused on performing one more act as he ran straight ahead toward a spring board. Dick jumped and landed on it, the force of the spring surged back at him from under his feet, helping to increase the air he could get. Instead of just doing a few twists and spins in the air, Dick had leaned forward more to almost dive at the block in the middle of the runway. Dick used his hands to meet with the block and helped to angle his legs pointed toward the ceiling as he pushed off. Perform a perfect back handed volt. He tucked and spun in the air a few times before performing a perfect landing on the mats a few feet way from the clock.
After sticking the landing, Dick walked over to a bench and grabbed a towel that had been sitting there and whipped his face. He had been working on his marshal arts earlier and had had just moved into the gymnastics dressing in a pair of black sweatpants. He had been to lazy to take the time to chance into the proper gear to do any serious work, but at least he had gotten some work done.
Even with all that work, Dick had hardly broken into a sweat. It paid to work out almost everyday. Dick looked at his watch, he hadn't heard Alfred or Bruce return yet from what ever errand they were running that afternoon. Dick stepped out of the training room, a cold draft hit him as he opened the door to the hall. Dick didn't both to look for the shirt he had thrown to the side earlier. He felt bad though about leaving it behind and if Alfred would find it first. He'd try to get it back before Alfred stepped into clean anything in there.
Dick stepped out into the cool dark hall way. There was no sound traveling besides the sound of the floor boards creaking underneath his feet as he walked. The darkness of the hall only seemed to bring comfort to Dick as he walked through the hall and down toward the main stairs. There was a sound that broke the silence for a slight moment coming from down stairs. Something of almost an object sliding. Then it was quiet again. He shrugged it off, maybe Bruce was back. Dick had grown used to the loneliness and darkness of the place.
Making his way down the steps, he was going to go down to the kitchen before something caught his eye. There was a window in the main corridor that sat cracked open a bit. That was weird, Alfred would never leave the windows open while he was out and Dick did not open the window either.
Looking around, Dick decided he'd go and investigate a bit. Something seemed off around there to him. If it had not been for the window cracked open, he would have thought nothing of it. Dick decided he would check the batcave, maybe Babs had dropped by without saying anything.
Dick walked over to the old grandfather clock and pressed the button to open it. The clock dropped back and slid out of the way. The lights were on down in the cave. That was odd, so that meant someone was definitely down there. Dick could hear the sound of an unfamiliar voice down in the cave filled with excitement.
He sneaked down the stairs barefooted and not making a sound. The concrete beneath his feet, cold to the touch. He crept down near to the end of the stair case and peeked around the corner to see a young boy standing in the batcave. The kid looked familiar, but Dick could not recall where he might have seen the kid before. Stepping out of the shadows of the staircase, Dick stepped into the light a bit more.
"Enjoying the sight," he asked sarcastically, standing their with his arms crossed over his chest and the towel still slung over his shoulder at the bottom of the stair case. He was a bit annoyed about this new situation he found himself in. He was not all that pleased seeing that someone had gotten into the manor and was not in the batcave. But of all people, it was a little kid. Great, Dick was never going to hear the end of this one. The one time he is watching over the manor and a kid gets in.
His sharp blue eyes seemed to scan over the kid from beneath the strands of his shaggy black hair fell into his face.. The kid could figure out why someone might be cross at that moment. Seeing as the kid now knew who Batman and Robin where. And what Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson were. The only person's identity that seemed safe at this point was Babs. There were no ties between the the three of them that was noticeable as far as family ties. Though unless the papers were now going on about Dick's relationship with the Commissioner's daughter. Dick did not pay attention to those types of papers. He hated being followed around. His life was not an open book and he aimed to keep it that way as long as he could.
"You shouldn't be in here," Dick said flatly. He was a bit curious as to how the kid had found out anything about any of this in the first place. Even the best of the villains had not figured it out. What was so obvious that a kid could have figured out the mystery of a century to some people?

Tim bit down his tongue to resist the urge to say 'wish granted'. He looked at Dick, and the teenager - almost adult - in front of him could probably spot the recognization in Tim's eyes. Dick had grown taller, Tim had to admit. Very tall, even the footage didn't do his height justice. Maybe because he was always with Batman, and Batman was plenty tall, so Robin always seemed short. Yet, he was around 5'9 to 5'11", Tim deduced. Then again, Dick had always been taller to Tim. When Tim was 4 feet tall, Dick was 4'5". Now Tim was 5'4" and Dick was 5'10".
Why is it that bigger people are always taller?
Putting aside the suddenly developed aim of getting taller than Dick sometime within the next six years, Tim finally spoke up. "Hey Dick! Or should I say Robin? Remember me?" he had a big, broad grin on his face. "And for the record, no, I'm not some thief who broke into this... cavern, thing... and discovered your secret identity. Its the opposite! I'm some kid who discovered your secret identity and broke into this place!... Though it seems kinda empty. Don't bats live in colonies?"
He spoke up, before shaking his head. Tim always got lost in his thoughts and rambled on. With his brain calculating ten different probabilities a second, that much was natural. He thought a lot per unit time, and he spoke a lot per unit time, though not as much as he thought. "Sorry, so, yeah. Remember me? I'm Tim Drake!... You may not remember me, its been years. But the Drakes and the Graysons... your family and mine, we took a picture together, the night your parents..." Tim trailed off, realizing the sourty of the concept. He had cried when Dick's parents had died too, so it wasn't just a sour memory for the man in front of him but for him as well.
Tim then reached into the small bag strapped to his waist and unzipping it, pulled out a framed photo. It was a young Dick, around 10, standing in front of a very young Tim, around 4, with a large muscular man and a slightly overweight man - John Grayson and Jack Drake respectively - and a slim but muscular woman and a normal woman - Mary Grayson and Janet Drake respectively - to their left. Overall, it was a group picture of the Drakes and the Graysons, taken minutes before the elder Graysons left this world.
He showed it to Dick.
"You really need to put a lid on the quadruple somersault," Timmy grinned broadly. "Its a dead giveaway, anyone of your fans with a half a brain would figure out you're Robin. I mean, you are the only person on Earth who can do that."

The first words reassured Dick that he had indeed seen this kid some where before. But that didn't answer right a way where exactly they had met before. He still stood their with his arms crossed watching the kid explain what he was doing. Boy, this kid jumps into a conversation like he was just meeting with a close friend on the way to a class. "You've got some nerve kid," he said at first.
Dick started to settle back a bit now. The kid just kept going, but he was explaining quite a bit without Dick having to question him further. "And yes, bats do live in colonies, but Alfred doesn't care for them much in the house. And frankly, neither do I," Dick replied to the simple off track question.
"But that's not the point," he said trying to keep the kid on track. He seemed to jump around quite a bit. And now the kid was going on about who he was and how he knew Dick.
When Tim had said about the photo shot their families had had together, the memory came flooding back to Dick of that night and everything that had happened. Dick had relived that scene so many times in his life since then. It never left his mind, but he had forgotten about all that had happened before the actually accident. Dick's eyes softened at the thought of that night and he did remember the Drakes.
"Yeah, I remember that night," he said as his eyes wandered to the floor a bit. It was still a touchy subject. Sure he had seemed to move on, but no one ever seems to move on from having their parents taken away from them that way. Even Bruce seemed to be that way. They just tended to hide it and not really talk about what had happened much to others about what had happened with either of them.
Dick looked at the picture that Tim was holding out for him to view. He did not take the picture into his hands, it seemed harder to look at the picture that had been taken just that day. Dick looked at the little Tim Drake within the photo with the Drakes. This was from years ago. Had that much time really passed since then?
Looking at his own parents in the photograph, Dick eyed it. The sweet smile on his mother's warm face and his father's firm, but friendly look to his face. Something Dick never had forgotten, but had not seen in a while. He hadn't looked at his own albums in a while. He wasn't trying to shut it out or anything. Things just seemed to hurt a bit more theses days. Every now and then it happened.
Dick looked back at the kid again, his attention on him as he spoke. He shook the thoughts from his mind. Right now wasn't the time. "It's kind of hard to lose a talent like that when you put your life skills into your crime fighting," Dick started. "But you might be right on that one." He was starting to show a bit more that he was lighting up a bit over the situation.
"Still you know you're breaking and entering," Dick said. "You can't just go around breaking and entering into places inviting yourself in. You could have knocked." Dick dropped his crossed arms. He was more relaxed now, but not looking forward to when he would have to tell Bruce, Babs, and Alfred about this kid breaking in.

Tim saw Dick become visibly upset at seeing the picture. He couldn't understand why he would. He had lost his mother too to some terrorists too, and every time he saw her pictures it brought back the good times. Sure, he missed her dearly and would give anything to have her back, but the pictures kept her alive and fresh in his mind. Tim liked looking at old photos. There was no point brooding over her mom's death; she wouldn't want him to. Then again, he knew the pain. So he wasn't going to judge. Tim then had a guilty look cross his face, before he laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "I, uh... well, I saw a security system installed. I could have knocked, but, then, that poor system was just sitting there, waiting to be hacked..." Tim dramatized the "poor system" as if it was some poor animal locked in a cage waiting to be freed. "I... couldn't resist," he admitted. "It was a tough nut to crack, which made it all the more fun," he grinned. "Gotta love it when WayneTech's challenging you..." yeah, he was probably sounded like a total geek right now. "Sorry," he said again. "I sorta have an affinity for computer stuff," he said. "I have yet to encounter a system I haven't hacked, a code I haven't decrypted. Its just... meh," he shrugged his shoulders. "So... where's Batman? For one thing, I want his autograph. And... whoa that is one big computer!!!" he practically yelled the last part, spotting the bat computer. Ten seconds later he was standing beside it, probably leaving Dick in the wind. "Oh my God, this thing is... whoa mommy," he said as he ran up the stairs leading up to the computer platform and stood in the middle of it, staring up at the bright blue screen. He had the whole Dee-Dee eyes right about now, you know, the one that screamed: "wat duz dis bttn duu?"

"I've noticed. It takes while a bit to get through those types of systems," Dick said. "You're not the only one that knows how to hack them." Dick was quite skilled at hacking computer systems. Probably no where near as good as Babs though. She knew how to get into any system no matter now own and ran it. Something Dick wished he had spend more time on. But in the right situation, he did quite well on his own cracking the codes.
Tim zipped on through his explanation. Gees, this kid jumped to one subject to another faster than anything. Dick could see that the kid was bright. Dick let him continue on. There seemed to be no stopping the him.
"The Bats out at the moment," Dick replied. He was not going to be happen to explain this all that much. "I can bet what he'll think," Dick muttered to himself quietly. He followed after Tim as the kid ran toward the main computer system. He figured Tim would want to take a look at the computer sooner or later. That had seemed to be the first thing Babs had gone after when she first came down to the batcave.
"How else would you expect us to figure our cases out and file them," Dick said as he walked onto the platform as well. The main system was on and locked. He looked over at Tim. A slight smile came to his face.
"Why doesn't you have a go and see if you can crack this code? Though this might be easier seeing as you got through the other one so fast," Dick said looking over at the computer. If the kid wanted to figure it out, he'd have to do it on his own. and Tim didn't seem to have any trouble with that kind of work.

[/b] Babs reached the bottom of the stairs, pausing only when she saw the scene before her. Her eyes immediately clamped on Dick, who was standing topless in his sweatpants, looking much like he'd just worked out. A smile spread across her face, until her gaze shifted to the other person in the cave - a boy, much younger, and very much not supposed to be there. Babs' heart jumped, and she glanced from the boy to Dick, as if she momentarily thought he hadn't yet noticed the boy either. It was quite clear the boy was making himself at home on the Batcomputer. "Dick," Babs said, looking at the boy, and immediately thought of all the consequences that was going to happen. The boy would undoubtedly know by now where he was, and who Dick was and subsequently who Bruce was - and now, he'd be able to figure out Babs' identity too. Babs thought about all the things that had happened lately and briefly considered Dick had actually lost it and was bringing strange children off the streets of Gotham into the Batcave. She certainly didn't recognise the boy at all, he wasn't a vigilante, that was for sure. "Dick," she repeated, slower this time. "What's going on?" she asked. It was a foolish question to ask, really, because it was all too obvious what was going on. Her heart was pounding hard now, and her gaze flitted from the young boy to Dick and back again. The one time Dick was home alone, and this happened, she thought. She knew he'd been flaky recently, impetuous and, at time, obnoxious, but she hadn't expected this at all. [/ul]

"REALLY?! ♥_♥" Tim's scream probably rocked the Batcave, and definitely sent the colonies of bats screeching and flying off in different directions. A second later one would find the young twelve year old with his hand firmly glued over his face, a light blush and a sheepish expression on his face. "Sowwy," he said in a tiny, squeaking voice, before he immediately set to work. He touched the Batcomputer's keyboard, turning it on. He immediately began to type random things across it. These random things included "Bruce Wayne", "Dick Grayson", "Two-Face" and "The Joker", however each time, a big flat message kept popping up. ACCESS DENIED "Hmm..." Timmy put a hand on his chin, in his thinking pose. Batman. Think like Batman. Or he could just do it the old fashion way. He began typing. Typing fast. Very fast. Tick tick tick tap tap tick tick tap was what Dick could hear, and he would be able to see a bunch of green computer language phrases having popped up on the large screen on top of a black background. "The guy has his own OS, his own computer language and I've cracked like 31 firewalls and still going..." Tim spoke up amidst typing. "How paranoid is this guy?" Somehow he felt as if he knew the answer: "very". Suddenly there was a small beep from the computer. The phrases stopped going up at almost untrackable speeds and one small phrase appeared at the bottom. Welcome to SimonTrent1042!"Why the Hell is the Batcomputer's name SimonTrent1042? I was thinking of something... I dunno... cooler," Tim said, an almost disappointed tone in his voice. Still, he typed up a few more buttons and the black screen was replaced by the normal blue one. A couple more words of typing and-- ACCESS GRANTED "Dun, dun, dun! Voila" Tim said, spreading his arms wide. That only took him about a minute. Would be easier next time, since he figured out Batman's computer language. His shoulders then dropped. "One hundred and ten firewalls?" he looked at Dick, a dubious and questioning expression on his face. He then noticed the girl in the room. He had been so engrossed about the hacking schmeel he didn't notice her, or her talking. That, who... "Erm, hi," he waved at the redhead, sheepishly.

He just stood there and listened to the kid talk while he tried to crack the system. And it didn't look like he was doing all that bad at it for a first time on the bat computers. Dick smiled a bit at the comments the boy was making about the strange computer system name and how paranoid Bruce was. So, Dick wasn't the only one to notice that some of the things that were build were a little too well protected. Well, with Tim hacking the house and the computer, that might force Bruce to kick the systems up a notch.
Dick turned at the sound of Babs's voice coming from near the stair case. He was a bit relieved that he would not have to face Bruce just so soon. Babs wouldn't be as bad as the Bat himself. The look on her face said it all. She must thing he was crazy. There wasn't much he could do, beside try and explain all this. "It's not what it looks like," he started and then saw that Tim had hacked the program. "Maybe it does look like what it might look like..." He sighed, great now he might be in trouble with Babs. For once couldn't their encounters not start off so awkward. The day that happened, Dick would have to mark it down as a first.
"Barbara, Tim Drake. Tim, Babara," he settled on just introducing the two. "Babs, meet the one person to actually figure out who the Batman is and where the cave was." He wanted to add that he still couldn't believe that a 12 year old out smarted the best of the best crime fighters and villains. Now that would be something to rub in the Riddler's face.
He was not smiling over this matter at all. The expression on his face was giving off a reading to Babs that he was not all that thrilled that the kid had made it in and it wasn't his idea. Though, the kid did grow on ya fast. Tim just seemed to jump around, it was just easier to just follow and listen then try and get him to focus.
Dick pushed the thought of what Bruce would do after this little situation. Though, it was going to haunt him until it did happen. Dick was just happy that it was Babs and not Bruce at the moment. Alfred would figure out soon enough that this was not Dick's idea. Though, if Babs thought it was, Dick was going to be a bit upset that she would think he would do such a thing to his friends and jeopardize their safety.
"This kid hacked all the systems to get in and I just found him down here walking about the cave," Dick said. Dick looked over Babs and saw that she was holding a pair of glasses in one hand. He decided he'd take a step and try to change the subject. "Are those new," he asked, his focus on her glasses.

[/b] she admitted. Her warmth for the boy had increased upon seeing his abilities, because that kind of intelligence at the very least deserved an ounce of respect, after all. However, Babs was still shocked to see them both. The boy - Tim, apparently - waved meekly at her, and Babs was momentarily struck by his nonchalance of the situation. He was in the Batcave, hacking the Batcomputer, and he was just simply giving her a bit of a wave. "He hacked the Batcomputer," Babs muttered, staring at the screen again. Her anger had subsided into shock, but it gradually building again as she realised the consequences of this all. Bruce was going to be furious, absolutely livid with Dick, and Babs was going to be stuck in the middle now, because she was instantly part of this. What was she supposed to do? Usher the boy out of the cave and hope he magically forget everything he'd learnt down there? Highly unlikely, Babs thought. There wasn't really much she could do, but she knew Bruce was going to go wild with Dick for this - and now for her. At least they had each other in this impending argument, Babs thought. They were both now sufficiently guilty. "Dick," Babs muttered, through clenched teeth. "This is going to cause trouble," she said, in an offhand voice, realising that was going to be the least of their worries now. Dick wasn't on Bruce's good side right now anyway, and now he was digging himself a deeper hole. A much deeper hole. Inxay any hopes of the pair of them making a loving father-son reconcilation sometime soon, Babs thought. She put a hand to her forehead, not quite wanting to deal with the reality of the situation now. She was impressed Tim had managed to figure out who Batman was, and that he'd managed to bypass the security. "We're going to have to up the security on this place," Babs said finally, her hand still on her forehead. If Tim could get past, then it left a massive hole for others to bypass, especially if he managed to hack the computer like that. She glanced at Dick when he mentioned her glasses, and she was actually pleasantly surprised he'd noticed, but she wasn't going to let the whole situation slide just yet. "Yes, they're new, Grayson," she muttered, reverting to referring to Dick by his surname, she glanced at the Batcomputer again and then back at Dick. "Did you let him hack the computer?" she asked, realising that Dick had obviously stood aside to let Tim try to get into the computer.[/ul]

Tim looked between Dick and Babs and noticed the looks on their faces, even though he couldn't understand why. Oh, and while he didn't know this redhead was the Comissioner's daughter, he did understand that she was that other person Batman and Robin often worked with - Batgirl. Same height, same apparent age and the only way someone couldn't notice the vivid red hair color would be if they were dumb. Or blind. Or both.
When Dick introduced them, Tim waved again, although this time more solidly. "Hey Barbara. Nice to meet you," he said, with a smile. "Don't freak out please." He added, almost as an afterthought, as Barbara brought up the point of him having hacked the Batcomputer. Not to mention both Dick's and Barbara's faces looked like something evil had happened. Had something evil happened? It didn't look like something evil had happened to Tim. Dick seemed cool, although rather nervous. Barbara was having a breakdown, but they did say that women were more emotional than men because they used both hemispheres of their minds to deal with emotion-laden events, and men only used the right side of their brain. At least that's what he had once heard on Animal Planet. So that could mean Dick was just trying to keep calm but Barbara was actually expressing herself fully.
Or something like that.
Wait...
"Lemme guess, Batman's gonna freak out a lot more than you?" he asked. Ever the little detective, he noticed that there was only one person who wasn't here right now. "... Oh." His shoulders dropped. He didn't want to get Dick and this Barbara person in trouble. He had just wanted to talk to Batman and Robin in person. It was not like he was gonna blow their secret identity - if he was, he would have by now. He understood the need of having one. Maybe he shouldn't have hacked the Batcomputer.
... Nah. He totally should've. It was calling him.
But still. "Well... if it makes amends, technically you're not at fault. Lucius Fox is!" Tim knew Lucius Fox was the CEO of Wayne Enterprises, so he was the one who made the WayneTech security system (or was responsible in its making somehow) that was installed (and currently disabled) throughout Wayne Manor. "I mean, you guys didn't make the security system that I hacked..." he added.

The way Babs was standing and the tone of her voice was enough to tell Dick everything. He knew she was on the verge of freaking out over this. And now she was going back to the unfriendly stage of addressing Dick. She was mad, stressed, and frustrated with him, who wouldn't be? This whole thing looked like he had sat back and allowed the kid to walk in through the front door and invited him in. Which was the complete opposite for the most part. What had happened happened, and there was nothing they could do about it now.
Dick had not been pleased at first either, but he knew it would do no good trying to kick the kid out. That and Dick had a feeling that if he did something to tick the kid off, he could very well used all that he had learned against the heroes he looked up to. From past experience, Dick did not want to run the risk. It was best to just wait until Bruce got back. No matter how furious Bruce was going to be at him. It was the smartest choice to make over a situation like this.
"And yes, I did," Dick said in a standoffish tone to Babs. If she was going to be mad, so be it. "I wanted to see what else the kid could do. Besides, he's already gotten this far. We've already over stepped the line." He stood there with his arms crossed again. But he was as calm and relax as he could be in a situation like this.
What was to come, Dick had a feeling, but was going to ignore it for now. He's main concern was to not anger Babs any further. Though with his last comment, he probably already had. There wasn't much he could do. All they could do was wait and see what happened. Dick wasn't going to let Babs take any of the blame for this. It was his fault, he was suppose to keep an eye on things. Then again, Dick wasn't going to waste his life worrying about someone hacking in at all times. He wasn't that paranoid. This was the first time anyone had ever hacked their way in. And Dick couldn't see Bruce becoming all that furious at this kid. The kid was smart, he had done what no one else has managed.
And knowing Bruce, Dick was probably going to be dragged him off somewhere else to continue this conversation elsewhere like many other times before. Bruce wasn't the type to explode in front of other, especially not in front of some kid that just happened to figure out who they were. Though with the look he gave, it was enough to send someone running for the hills when they knew they were in trouble. That's the one thing Dick had never truly mastered, intimidation of all time like the Bat.
At this point, he was just going to shrug it off. What has happened is said and done with. There was nothing that he could have done. This would have happened whether he was home or not. "Don't worry about it, Tim," Dick said to him and shot him a half smile to reassure him that he was not all that concerned about the situation...at the moment. "Someone was bound to sooner or later figure something out, it just so happened that you were smart enough to look at things from a different angle."
Dick looked back over at Babs, who was standing there with her hand on her forehead. Dick dropped the crossed arms and approached her. He looked at her fiery stressed green eyes. Once he was close enough, he placed his hands on both of her shoulders to get her attention and hopefully to get her to relax a bit. "Babs, I know this is difficult to face," he started. "But what is done is done. You took no part in this and I will see to it that it stays that way." He really hoped she would give him this chance and see it from his point of view. Sure he was probably going to face the wrath of Bruce and maybe be force to training hours or something, but he didn't want Babs to get so furious over this. And no matter what she said or tried, Dick was going to keep it that way.
He knew it was going to take quite a bit to even get her to calm down, but he was going to try. Even if she did push him away. They had been through worse than this. Things happen for a reason.

[/b] Babs growled when he used that all too familar obnoxious tone she'd grown to despise. She was hearing it a lot more recently, perhaps because Dick was finally beginning to assert himself, and, consequently, felt the need to assert himself to Babs, even when she was clearly in the right. "Those files aren't supposed to be public knowledge, there's way too much in there," she added. Babs was the kind of protective person, whose thoughts meandered somewhere between concern for humans and concern for the sensitive nature of the information locked in the Batcomputer. However, it didn't seem like Tim was in any rush to go through the files anyway. Her posture relaxed when she saw Tim wave at her again, something about the boy made it virtually impossible for her to stay in such a stoic, angered position. He was bright, and had the kind of warm charm about him that Babs found all too endearing. Her anger subsided more when Dick placed his arms on her shoulders, and talked to her, looking into her eyes. Her face broke into a small smile, realising for the first time that when Dick used that kind of body language on her he could tell her to jump and she'd ask 'how high'. Well, within reason. Babs was still a very assertive woman in her own rights, and she didn't let anyone tread over that. Sometimes even Bruce found it difficult to deal with Babs own impetuous and hotheaded personality. "No," she said, still smiling. "It's fine, I'm part of this now - I'm letting him stay, aren't I?" Babs said pointedly, and she switched her gaze to Tim and then back to Dick. She smiled at him, and then glanced down at him. "I think you should dress like that all the time," she added in a quiet whisper, a wry smile playing on her face as she removed herself from his light grip and headed toward the Batcomputer, where Tim was. There was no point in letting herself get into a fuss about this, because it was far too late, and where as Babs knew they were going to regret this, she wasn't about to kick Tim out. She wanted to talk to him first, actually get a feel of what his intentions were and whether she could trust him, but there was something so endearing about the kid that made Babs instantly like him. "Well, Batman's not the greatest party host, so, no, he won't be thrilled," Babs said. "But it'll be okay... So, Tim, where did you learn to do this?" Babs asked, glancing up at the screen of the Batcomputer. Part of her was still scared for the boy, but she tried to focus on the present, rather than allow herself to be clouded with the 'what ifs' of the future. "That's pretty impressive," Babs said, stopping herself before she added 'for a kid your age', simply not wishing to appear patronising to Tim.[/ul]

If this was some kind of anime, Tim would have sweat dropped at the sudden Dick and Barbara romance scene that sprung up. He coughed into his hand, loudly, to catch their attention and then proceeded to shout: "Get a room!" Honestly, couldn't Romeo and Juliet here mind the fact that there was a kid in the room? Or cave, whatever? "This what?"Tim responded, turning around and looking over at where Barbara was indicating, looking at the Batcomputer with the Batwave signal on it still pulsing. He blinked a bit, and squinted his eyes. Where had he learned to do it? To be honest, he didn't remember. "I don't really know," he replied. "I've uh... been able to do that since as far as memory lane goes." There were really very few things Tim had actually forgotten, even from his years as an infant. While he didn't exactly have a photographic memory, his mind was just sharp enough that he rarely ever forgot things. Still, he couldn't recall where he had learnt hacking from. As far as he remembered, he had always been able to do it. The earliest memory was of him hacking into his Dad's online bank account for him after he had forgotten the password. He didn't, at the time, register that there was a "Forgot Your Password?" option in the lower corner, and had just hacked into the page. His Dad had been absolutely livid, he recalled. Tim was six, then. Tim reached out and pressed two buttons on the Batcomputer and the options and Batwave icon on the screen disappeared, being replaced by a pure light blue. He had shut if off. "If you don't want me to peek into your files, I can understand that," he said to Barbara and Dick, before his attention shifted elsewhere. Where elsewhere? Namely, the costume cases. "Oh yeah!" Tim leaned against the railing of the platform where the Batcomputer was, before flipping over and landing over in the middle of the dark cavern on his feat after a somersault. Tim was good at gymnastics. Good, not excellent like some and not a prodigy like Dick, but good. He was fit for his age. He ran over and was immediately by the costume cases, once again leaving Dick and this time Barbara in the wind. "This is so cool," he said, as he applied some minor force on the glass somewhat and it opened, revealing the dummy containing the Batsuit. Tim began to touch it, and feel the material. He discovered it was hard, like metal. It was armored. "How do you move around in this?" he asked, to no one in particular.

Dick decided to shrug off the argument he could have started with Babs on the whole issue of taking the blame. There was no point, once Babs made up her mind, it was made up. But that won't stop Dick from standing up more for the issue when the time came. Babs could be just as stubborn as he could. There were days that it bugged him to no end when fighting, but in other times, it was sometime amusing. It seemed all the bats were support in this family. Though others more hot headed than others.
Seeing Babs relax as soon as he approached her, made Dick smile a bit. He was glad to be able to get her to calm down. Besides, throwing the lid out would do no good. He knew way too much and for sure it was better for Bruce to know in the first place what was going on now. The sooner he knew, the better.
At Babs next comment, Dick's face got a bit red, a little embarrassed at her comment more than for the fact that he was still walking around that way. But when Tim yelled out at the two of them, he came back to the situation. Gees, this kid had only been around a few minutes and was fitting in like he had been there all his life. Dick gave a half smile to Babs and a look of disappointment as she walked over to join Tim near the computer,
As Babs tried to talk with Tim, Dick walked over to one of the countered areas and laid the towel on it for now. He said over there for a bit until he heard the excitement rise as Tim yelled out something. He looked over just in time to see the kid flip over the rail and land easy. Watching the kid run across the room, Dick saw were he was headed. For someone off the streets, Tim had some skill.
He watched as Tim's eyes seemed to become glued to the suits in the cases on the other side of the cave. Of, course, he should have figure that's where he would head next. Dick walked over to the cases as Tim got one to open. "You get used to the weight after a while," Dick answered his question. "Besides, it does come in handy for defense of course."
He smiled a bit at Tim admiring the suits. Dick remembered his first time in the batcave. It was a time of disbelief and amazement. He could still recall the first time when Bruce had taken him under his wing to work with him and train him to become Robin. Since then, Dick had put so much work into becoming Robin and now it seemed it was time to move on soon. But Robin was apart of the duo, now the bat-family with Batgirl.
At this point, Dick had a feeling Tim was going to want to see the batmobile next. But the kid better not touch his motorcycle, was a joking thought that came to Dick's mind.
