"UGH!" Artemis let out a scream as she felt her own pierce her arm. She could tolerate the pain. When you were trained to sleep on a bed of spikes, this was nothing. But the nerve of this witch. Using her own arrow on her, she ought to maim the living daylights out of--
Artemis angry mental tirade was cut off her ears picked up the window breaking and a mace shooting through the air to strike the living corpse, sending her rocketing off her. Artemis immediately flipped back to her feet as she felt the weight disappear from her frame, though the suddenly jolt of pain that shot through her body due to inadvertantly moving her twice-injured arm.
"Shit," her arm was incapacitated, Artemis realized. She could ignore the pain, but being able to ignore pain didn't make you stronger. Quite the contrary. Pain was a warning signal your body gave, that there is only so much more damage that can be taken by it. Ignoring it increased the chances of you failing. And Artemis' warning signals were going haywire in the case of her arm.
And she couldn't exactly shoot arrows with her feet.
Wait...
Artemis watched as Hawkgirl took on the woman, but as more of the skin seeped of Jane Doe, Artemis realized she was probably going to try and pull an escape. Improvising, she quickly put her bow in her mouth, clasping it in her jaws. Pulling out about three arrows from the container behind her back, she inserted it and pulled them backwards with her good arm.
Her aim wasn't gonna be perfect, since she hadn't really practiced firing with her mouth before, and she was wobbling. But that's why she had pulled out three such arrows; her high density polyurethane foam arrows. The moment they struck, they would release foam which would inflate and solidify around Jane Doe, capturing her and preventing her from moving. Considering her aim was loose, she would fire three arrows, their foams would combine and perhaps cover the entirety of the wall by her estimates, leaving Jane Doe nowhere to run to.
'This is what she gets for stabbing me with my own weapon,' Artemis thought, obsidian eyes narrowing in anger. She watched Hawkgirl deal with Jane Doe, and she would let her deal with her. The moment Jane Doe tried any funny moves, though, she was gone.

Jane observant eyes watched the woman proclaim her name and the small girl stand up from her position. The pathetic teenager was pulling her bow back with her teeth. Jane didn’t let the threat effect her. She got too much pleasure from the amount of blood on the girl’s face: the crush nose, the sure to be black eye, and swollen lip. It was somewhat impressive the girl even had the energy to move. Jane’s eyes fell to the arrow in the girl's thigh.
Ah.
“I should have pulled that out,” she calmly stated. If she had pulled the arrow out it would have ripped through her artery. The girl would be bleeding to death on the ground in pain. Instead, Jane had been too distracted by the idea of puncturing her heart she had left the bow in. It kept the wound from being too dramatic. Jane smirked knowingly though that the girl would eventually have to pull it out.
Her eyes traveled up to the arrows in the girl's bow. There was something on the tip of it, meaning whatever it was it didn’t have to hit her directly to be effected, similar to the smoke arrows she had shot at her before. She focused back on the…Hawkgirl…as she called herself. Hearing the false name didn’t give any joy. A false name was similar to a mask. It hid the true value of the person’s life. She wanted the actual name, but doubted a woman who knew about Jane's false name would give it. The woman was the true threat. She appeared strong with those wings and that intense expression. Jane felt strong, but Jane wasn’t strong. No, Jane was far from perfect. Jane was empty. She had lost her life. She needed to find it again. She needed to escape.
She kept staring at the threat in front of her as her peripherals took in the people near them. The club was still crowded with people, yet strangely silent as they all watched. Whatever was in the girl’s arrows couldn’t be that drastic because it would engulf all the innocent people as well. That meant it had to be something to stop her from escaping.
Jane adjusted the arrow in her hand then spoke, “It seems you have made a mess of me. For that reason I will be walking out of here. I will state right now, I will kill one of these citizens if you attempt to stop me.” She heard a few gasp and a sob in the background. “It will be a waste of life, and I do hate wasting life.”

Listening to the girl behind her causes Hawkgirl to half-smile in approval. Tough one - she likes that. And that means that she's free to keep her attention on Jane for the moment, and she matches the woman's gaze with her own. And she doesn't like what she sees at all. Not that she's at all creeped out by Jane's current appearance - Hawkgirl has seen many, many things in this universe that are more disturbing than her and wasn't creeped out by them either - but she sees the intelligence there. Intelligence is a problem.
And Jane proves that to be correct by what she says next, and Hawkgirl's eyes narrow at the threat and she quickly evaluates the situation. If it simply boiled down to a fight between her and Jane, Hawkgirl has absolutely no doubt that she would win. And not only that, but that it would be easy, even with Jane armed and her not. In fact, she'd have to hold back just a bit if she wanted to keep Jane alive. But this is not that ideal situation, and Jane's words reminded her of that. While she's a bit skeptical that Jane could manage to kill someone before she reached the woman - few can match her speed - that would still be a gamble and that intelligence she read hints that Jane just might be able to pull it off.
On the other hand, Jane's stolen identity is clearly in shambles and, given Jane's M.O., that means that she'll try to kill again soon if she gets away anyway, so that she'll kill someone now is less of a threat than it could be. But back on the first hand, even if she manages to prevent Jane from carrying out that threat, it would still be tricky to balance fighting the woman and avoiding hurting anyone in the crowd - Hawkgirl's fighting style can be rather destructive to the surroundings in such close quarters. ('Close quarters' for Hawkgirl meaning anywhere indoors that is not a warehouse, atrium, or other such space.) Of course, there's also Artemis to factor in. An archer doesn't have that problem if they're good enough. But the girl is hurt and if she misses the consequences are too great.
In the end, there are just too many people around. "If she leaves, now, and doesn't try anything - let her go," Hawkgirl tells Artemis with no small amount of authority in her voice, though her eyes don't leave Jane. The decision rankles, but she's certain it's the correct one. But rather than relaxing now that she's decided this, Hawkgirl tenses - clearly she's literally ready to attack Jane if she sets so much as one toe out of line. And it's easy to tell from her stance that she's almost hoping that Jane gives her a reason to. Hawkgirl is a warrior first and foremost, and not fighting when there's an enemy in front of her requires a lot of restraint on her part.

Jane smirked. Heroes were too predictable. Their predictability was one of the reason she was rarely drawn to their lives. Yes, she would love to kill them, but to take their place would bond her to their estrange moral values. Jane had better things to do with her life then follow the whims of the weak and innocent.
She kept the bow in her hand ready to throw it at the innocent person she had took aim on in her peripherals. She brushed back a strand of Elizabeth’s dark hair with her free hand. “Since you’re being reasonable, I’ll give you part of Elizabeth so there’s something to bury,” she nodded to the mobster cowering in the background before gripping onto the dark brown hair and ripping off the skin on her face with a swift movement. She held out for everyone to see before dropping it on the ground. “Unfortunately that is all there is left.”
She felt the bare air against her skin and felt naked. She would need a new life soon, but first things first she must leave. “We will see each other again,” she said with a smirk to both heroes. Not that either one of them would recognize her or pick her out in a crowd, but she would see them again. With that, she started backing away to the door to the kitchen behind her. Her focus staying on the threats in front of her until she pushed the kitchen door back and walked in. Once the door swung in front of her, Jane turned and bolted. She dropped the arrow and pulled out two knives on the kitchen counters. He heard the chefs scream as they saw her face. She only ignored them and ran to the exit. She wasn’t stupid enough to believe Hawkgirl or the green person would leave her alone once she left. She needed the cover of darkness. Hopefully, the green child would be in too much pain and Hawkgirl would be forced to take care of her.
Jane frowned. She still wished she could have killed the girl’s wasted life, but there was always time to accomplish it in the future. For now she needed a new face. She ran out into the dirty alley and bolted off into the darkness making sure to steal the trench coat off the homeless guy as she slit his throat..

Watching the woman leave with those eyes that seem sharp enough to not miss anything, Hawkgirl finds herself almost annoyed that the woman is smart enough to give her no reason to attack. Still, it's probably the best idea at present. She makes no reply to the woman's words, though based on the way her eyes narrow at the statement about meeting again would lead one to believe that Hawkgirl too is of the same opinion and would very much enjoy that. Especially if it's in a nice, open area without a lot of people around.
Remaining still until the woman has exited the room, Hawkgirl's first action is to retrieve her mace. Jane had been smart enough to not try to steal it, but she doesn't trust the people remaining in the building to know better. While she may not be all that familiar with Gotham, she knows a bad part of town when she sees it. And between the young hero's injuries and men caught by the trick arrows, there's obviously too much that she needs to do here for her to chase after Jane like she really wants to - she may have said that she would let the woman leave, but she didn't say anything about what she'd do after that.
But no, she's not going to leave someone barely able to defend themselves among a group of people who might try to take advantage of that. Once again, duty before desire. Reattaching her mace to her belt, she turns back to Artemis. "I assume that running into her wasn't expected?" she asks rhetorically before she continues, "If you tell me what your mission is, I'll help you finish up here and then we can see about getting you patched up." And then she can see if she can pick up Jane's trail, if it isn't too late by then. No doubt Jane is smart enough to make it difficult, but Hawkgirl has brains to go with her brawn.
And really, putting the priorities in that order is rather kind of Hawkgirl. The cautious thing to do would be to worry about the girl's injuries first, but then she'd no doubt ruin whatever the girl had been trying to do when she ran into Jane. And she can easily imagine how she'd have felt if that had happened to her at that age - too much discouragement at once. Besides, the last thing that Hawkgirl is known for is her caution.
