The water lapped gently against the peer, a foghorn heard in the distance. Behind Bane, who was standing on the dock silently as he stared at the black water, the roughest part of Gotham, the East Side, was alive and well. Gunshots, sirens and blaring car horns could be heard coming from deep inside the city's belly. It was a typical night for this side of the sprawling city. It was a night like any other.
Or so it seemed.
Bane was waiting for the man known as Hush. He had a shipment for Bane, and the deal was going to be very beneficial for both of them. After the riot at Blackgate, Bane was ready for the second stage of his plan. The riot was distracting the city enough as it was, so what he wanted to accomplish would be easier to pull off now. The shipment contained a very special substance: kryptonite.

Bane. A mercenary. Was this really the sort of people that Tommy was now forced to deal with? Unfortunately, it seemed to be the only way to get into the crime world of Gotham, and that was all part of the plan. Bane seemed like the kind of guy who might have contacts, and could earn them in future, so he was his best client. It surprisingly wasn't too hard for Tommy to get a hold of the kryptonite, having got in contact with some business friends of his in Metropolis. He was owed a lot of favours in life, and he knew they'd come in handy.
He stepped out of the shadows of the docks, and eyed Bane warily, staying out of sight for the time being. He wasn't expecting him to be this...big, but it didn't put Tommy off. If he was going to be scared by some oversized drug dealer, then he wasn't going to get far. He made his way over to the man, making his presence slightly more obvious.
"Bane. Glad to see you turned up... have you got the money?"

Bane heard a voice from behind him and he turned around to see who it belonged to. A figure in a brown overcoat stood in the shadows, his face bandaged so no skin could be seen, no signs of a face except for two holes where his eyes were. Bane wondered if the man known as Hush had facial scarring that he preferred to hide, unlike the likes of Two-Face, or if he simply used it as his own disguise. Hush cut straight to the point, asking Bane if he had the money. Bane walked over to the dock and reached underneath it, pulling out a briefcase that he had stashed earlier. He brought it over to Hush, but did not open it, keeping a firm grip on the handle.
"I have the money. Do you have what I want?"

Tommy eyed the briefcase suspiciously, then looked back up to Bane, a smile behind his bandages. He had no way of telling if the case was empty or not. He could only assume that Bane was a trustworthy character, but it was hard to tell in this City who you could trust and who you couldn't.
"I have the money. Do you have what I want?"
Hush nodded, and rummaged into his trenchcoat, before producing the large green rock. Kryptonite. Tommy weighed it up in his hands, looking back down at the suitcase once more.
"I'm a man of my word. Shall I bother asking why you need this? I'm sure I can make an estimate," Tommy teased, returning his attention to Bane.
"Can you open the case? Just so I'm sure all the money's there..."

Bane stood silently as the bandaged man reached into his coat and pulled out a green rock, the very thing he was here for: Kryptonite. With this rock he would defeat Superman, but he needed a way to harness it better. But how?
Hush then inquired about the money, asking Bane to show it to him. Saying nothing, Bane simply opened up the case and turned the open portion toward Hush. The case was filled to the brim with cash, all one-hundred dollar bills. Just in case he was wondering, Bane said, "They're all real. You can check the serial numbers if you need to."
That idea still festered in his mind. It was too good to pass up this meeting without asking. "Do you have a way of taking this solid form of Kryptonite and convert it into a serum? This Venom that I use...is there a way to infuse Kryptonite into its makeup? If so...can you do it? Money is not a problem if that is a concern of yours."
The possibility of Bane actually being able to fill his veins with Superman's only physical weakness almost made him giddy. Almost. But he remained serious. He would break Batman, no doubt about it, but to break Superman? That would bring him power beyond anything he could possibly imagine....

"They're all real. You can check the serial numbers if you need to."
Tommy stared down at the notes, nodding thoughtfully. That looked like the right amount, and he had to admire the honesty of Bane. Most people in this place would have filled it with newspaper or something stupid. It was good to see honest crooks, if there was such a thing.
"No need, thank you," Hush replied, still weighing up the Kryptonite in his hand.
"Do you have a way of taking this solid form of Kryptonite and convert it into a serum? This Venom that I use...is there a way to infuse Kryptonite into its makeup? If so...can you do it? Money is not a problem if that is a concern of yours."
Tommy looked over to the bulky man, and smiled. That's how he seemed so big. The venom. He wasn't as impressive as he seemed to make out then, obviously.
"I'm sure I can look into it, but as you guessed, it'll cost. Tell me though...do you really think you can take down Superman?"

Underneath his mask Bane smiled. Hush had no idea as to what he was capable of. He knew of Hush's reputation as a skilled killer, crafting his kills with surgical precision. He wondered how skilled the bandaged man would be with his hands broken, but that was for another time, just in case Hush tried to cross him down the road.
Hush then said that he would look into Bane's suggestion, mentioning price. Bane nodded in understanding, knowing that something so dangerous would always be pricey. Venom was a valuable commodity, and in the wrong hands it was extremely dangerous. But in the right hands...it could be used for amazing purposes. Hush asked Bane if he really thought that he could take down Superman. Bane did not move, simply saying "Anyone can be defeated. You just need to know how to do it and be able to obtain the resources needed to accomplish the task. In Superman's case...this kryptonite."
