Though she reluctantly resigned from her post with her father’s recent return – she knew better than to oppose his instructions. The Falcone family had taken a very large role in the new developments undergoing Gotham City. After standing on the sidelines for a majority of the deals that had been made, Sofia quickly slipped back into the role of socialite. Schmoozing, wining and dining anyone that her father considered worth their time, the charming young woman began to miss the powerful role within a matter of weeks. Each task she was assigned, she took willingly with tight fists clenched at her side. Angelo was her only confidant in the process, enduring a majority of her screaming sessions and drunken outrages.
Turning to the glass very frequently in the free time she had accumulated, Sofia went through bottles of wine like they were bottles of water. Unless, however, she was instructed to host a dinner or make an appearance with an underlying motive from her father. With Rocco still in Italy, her flirting was a little less harmless than it had been in the past.
Still, her life was black and white without enough red in it to keep her happy. That was – until one particular task seemed to be to her liking. With the recent purchases that her father had made, several stretches of slummy apartments were now theirs. However, some of the more stubborn tenants were not willing to leave. Finally…it was time for some fun.
Several sleek black cars pulled into the makeshift parking area. Sofia sat poised with the hint of a smile on her dark lips at what was to happen. The proper documentation sat in a neat, collected file next to her just in case the equally annoying and unwanted police were to arrive. Though it didn’t justify the hostility that Sofia was directing toward the squatters, it would shine some legal light on the situation. This land and everyone on it was officially property of the Falcone’s, with the intention of turning it into something.
Her men began to exit the caravan of vehicles – each an impressive size. Sofia watched from the backseat of her own car with a devilish smirk on her face. The men were to remove the squatters at all costs necessary. She was only here for the show.

It wasn't long before the police finally arrived. An angry civilian didn't like the fact they were getting pushed out of their home. They weren't hurting anyone, they paid the rent on time before the property was purchased. They didn't see why they had to leave. A lot of those that stayed behind by the time the Falcone goons arrived almost wished they would have leaved. They knew that it might have come to this. They just weren't ready. So the police ended up being called. This kind of call wasn't out of the ordinary, although it was usually because some hoodlums were causing trouble, disturbing the peace. It was hardly because of a crime syndicate attempting to push people out.
Two squad cards pulled up, four uniformed police officers exited their vehicles and started to approach the property. The two men from car #63 decided to see who was in the back of what seemed to be a luxury car. The others were empty, however there was someone relaxing in the back of one of them. A figure that was decided to be that of a young woman. Officer's Valdez and Tito knocked on the window, the officers of car #61 decided to approach the property to try and get the Falcone soldiers to cease and desist. "Ma'am? Please roll down the window." Officer Valdez requested, the big guys in the suits probably wouldn't like that they were trying to talk to their boss. As long as everyone kept calm and weapons stayed concealed, then it wouldn't be a big problem.
Officer Bruno and Officer Fey of car #61 stood in front of Officer Valdez and Officer Tito. They waited for the men to take notice, they stood guard just in case they tried to stop car #63 from doing their job. "Everyone, please stand back and return to your homes." Officer Bruno said as loudly as he could. He then gestured towards the men issuing the eviction orders. "You guys stand back! Don't make me say it again." The four officers of car #63 and car #61 had their work cut out for them.

The brunette held the half-empty thermos to her lips. For once she was awake early enough for a coffee – Irish coffee, anyway. “You know, this isn’t as fun as I thought it would be.” She said with a sigh. Still, it was best not to head out early, knowing her father would greatly disapprove if he sent her out to do the simplest of tasks and she didn’t see it to completion. Angelo sat in the front of the vehicle, serving as her driver. The expensive car was on and blasting air conditioning on such a hot summer day. Seeing as Angelo was hardly one for a conversation, she almost drifted off to sleep until she head the man’s warning.
Nearly spilling her coffee, she sat up and looked at the window, rolling her eyes at their unwanted guests. “Damn it. Seriously don’t they have something better to do?” Gritting her teeth, she began to arrange the documents beside her into a neat file. This was going to be annoying. “Do you think it’s too late to pretend I’m asleep and just have you do it?” She asked, shooting a dirty look as they tapped on the window.
Sofia merely sat there, emotionless as she took her own sweet time. Honestly, she might have just tried to ignore them completely and see how long she could get away with it if they hadn’t of dared to touch her car. She cracked the window, literally no more than an inch so she could speak through the tinted glass. “Don’t touch the car, I just had it detailed.” There was much more that she could add, but she withheld her comments about grease covered hands. Leaning forward, she handed her drink to Angelo who placed it in the seat next to him after sealing the top.
Angelo ‘The Killer’ Mirti was Sofia’s personal body guard. While he was a man of few words, he was ultimately loyal to the Falcone family and had a soft spot for the young woman he was sworn to protect. The rest of her men stood, waiting for some kind of order. They already had numbers on the officers that had so rudely decided to crash the party. “If you are not here to help, I suggest you leave now. And take a very long time to maybe reflect on what you think you are about to do, officers.” The brunette stated in a condescending tone, extending her words as if she were talking to children. Her stare was cold and almost lifeless as she waited for a reply. She didn’t want to have to do anything dramatic. Really, half – if not more of the government was eating out of the palm of her father’s hand. Did the lowly pigs really think they had chance?
Looking down at her phone as if she couldn’t be bothered, she shot several quick text messages to her father, then one to a lawyer and then to several of the men standing in the lot before her.

The four officers of the GCPD were just doing their job, they dealt with people like this before. Young men and women that thought they owned Gotham city. While a lot of that was true, the Police Department wasn't nearly as corrupt as it once was. Commissioner Gordon and Batman were fighting back. It was easy to see that they were out numbered, they couldn't start a fight. Even if they wanted to, it wouldn't be doing the right thing. They would only fight back if the Falcone's started first. The two officers that were speaking to the woman in the fancy car sighed. They didn't want to deal with this sort of thing today. One of the officers noticed who they were dealing with was Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Mob boss Carmine Falcone. It paid to know such things. Officer Valdez sighed. "Ms, we're just doing our job. You can't force people out of their homes like this. Are you the landlord of this property? If you are I will need to see the proper documentation."
The way she spoke to the officers was humiliating. Neither of them worked their hardest to achieve mental and physical shape to become a police officer just so they could be told off by someone who was born with a silver spoon up her ass. That's what the four on-duty officers of the GCPD thought today. They knew they couldn't be vocal about their feelings, lest they wanted to be shot for 'Disrespecting' someone. The world has fallen from grace, and taken Gotham city right along with it. For Officer Valdez and Officer Tito, they had faith in the system. They had faith that Commissioner Gordon would take down Falcone one day. The crime families didn't have it as good as they used to, cops actually started to fight back for once. Even so, it was a long and hard fight.
Officer Bruno and Fey on the other hand, they were a little less reliant on the system. Bruno was a dirty cop, has been ever since he started a few years back. Dirty cops don't last as long as they used to, in fact Commissioner Gordon roots them out a lot faster now that he's in charge. However corruption spreads like wild fire, and Bruno had turned Fey just like a corrupt officer turned him. They stood guard, because they knew they were in danger. However they wouldn't frown upon being paid to look the other way.
In the long run though, it didn't matter all that much if the Falcone's owned this lot.

“Mmmm one moment.” She informed the officer, though she didn’t move for the documentation but only sent a heavily coded text to her man on the ground. They continued to keep their cool, standing by their cars, some even lighting up a cigarette while they waited for the time to pass. None of them were seriously intending to take the officers seriously. But with major changes to the city underway, it was a bit easier to comply rather than causing a scene. Of course, Sofia was much, much better at causing a scene. Time passed as she continued to text, her lawyer quickly replied. Show them the documentation. With a roll of her eyes behind her dark-tinted shades, she grabbed the papers and cracked the window a bit more.
Pointing to the officer who had the audacity to bark orders at her men, she commented quietly. “Let’s keep that one quiet, can we? I sure as hell don’t want any more attention, much less a tip off to the press all because someone’s big mouth is compensating for something else.” She handed an organized folder out the window. “These are the signed and violated leases of each tenant, there are also copies of each eviction notice that had been served and each resident has committed clear violations of said lease. Exactly thirty three ago, these notices were delivered giving them exactly 30 days to relocate however, some of the more stubborn inhabitants planned on illegally remaining behind.”
Pushing her sunglasses further up her nose, she returned her hands to her lap feeling as though her skin was crawling just for being in the same vicinity as the man lingering outside her window. However, before blatantly reaching for the hand sanitizer she decided to paint herself as a saint even further. “Now I, being that gracious landlady that I am decided that before turning them over to the authorities, cleaning them out in small claims court and destroying families that I would give them a chance to leave within the course of the next hour. So you see, I’m not forcing…I’m giving an ultimatum that they would be very wise to take.” And that’s when your fat ass came along in between donut runs.

Officer Valdez took the documentation from Sofia's hands. Officers Valdez and Tito opened the folder, looking over the papers that did indeed state Sofia Falcone was in charge of this group of apartments. There was nothing that the officers could do. Everything checked out, all they could do now is leave. Their job only meant answering the 911 call. Police are put in place to enforce the law. Since what was going on here was all within the law. There was nothing that could truly be done. Officer Valdez smiled, handing the file back. "Thank you, Ma'am. Have a nice rest of your day." The man said before he and Officer Tito started walking back to their cars. The other two officers, Bruno and Fey also motioned to begin leaving.
The tenants could be heard shouting out every cop insult in the book. It didn't hurt their feelings. Police Officers were held to the higher standard that people saying words wouldn't get to them. It couldn't get to them or everything would dissolve into chaos. Officer Bruno and Fey were already in their car. Officers Tito and Valdez were walking towards theirs. Today wasn't the best day but all they were trying to do was their job. That's all that could be done in the end. All they could really do. They would do their very best to enforce the law. Entitled brats like Sofia Falcone? They would't stop cops like Edgar Valdez from doing his job. From enjoying his job.
Corruption, crime. They would hinder it but they would never stop justice.

[Sofia’s loud cackle flew from her lips when the officer thanked her. The process had gone much smoother than she had thought even considering there were more than a few Irish coffee’s in her system. However, the feeling of power was once that Sofia loved to abuse. Unable to be satisfied with just that, she called to the retreating officers. “Oh no.” she began as she pushed open the door of the car. “You’ve just undone hours of my work by sending them back into what used to be their homes.” She shut the door, her heel clicking on the pavement as she moved toward the group. “I want each and every one of your names and badge numbers.” The brunette ordered, hands on her hips.
The young Falcone looked in the direction of the tall blonde man who seemed to be second in command for this operation. He had yet to stop smirking from the moment the cops had arrived, though he itched for some kind of a conflict. After Sofia’s reassuring nod, he returned with a handful back into the building to basically restart the operation after an annoying and uneventful distraction. Within minutes of being in the building, the group outside could hear and outburst of gunfire. Sofia instinctively ducked behind the safety of her car. Though typically emotionless, it was hard to hide the surprise on her face as she peered toward the entrance of the apartment building.
A lone man emerged, his entire body splattered with fresh blood. His breathing was harsh and erratic as he stood at the entrance of the building with a wild, crazed look in his eyes. He was not one of the Falcone’s men, but one of the tenants who did not seem eager to leave. His paranoia began to build when he saw the police cars arrive, assuming that they had been there for him specifically rather than to question Sofia’s tactics. Living under a fake identification, this man had been hiding from the law for several years now. After spending a majority of his life in and out of Blackgate, he was far from willing to return to such living conditions. The man pointed his gun once more toward the crowd. He didn’t plan on going down without a fight, though it seemed that before he attempted to make a leave he had his sights set on revenge for one person in particular.
Sofia pressed herself to the side of the car, hoping to remain unseen by the man who was now screaming at the crowd in Spanish. The only word that Sofia was able to make out amongst her chaotic shouting was her name; Falcone. Each time he spoke it the word was laced in hatred. Many of her men retreated to their vehicles, though the group that had entered the building had yet to return. The young woman rose slowly as she reached for the handle of her car. Inside contained her own firearm, but the police presence made her decision a difficult one. Her men awaited orders, though it was clear they were completely perplexed with the police sharing the situation.
The crazed man continued to scream her surname. His angry eyes catching a glimpse of the young woman attempting to sneak into her vehicle. He started aggressively toward the vehicle, weapon raised.

"We've got shots fired at the Yarota Apartments." Officer Tito relayed into his radio as he took cover behind his patrol car. Officer Bruno and Officer Fey drew their weapons and waited for an opening. This man that discharged a weapon. He wasn't a Falcone soldier. That much was clear. There was something else about him. He was a Hispanic male, middle aged. Probably got nervous for one reason or another when the police showed up. Or perhaps its was the Falcone crime family that rubbed him the wrong way. What mattered now was keeping the crowd safe and taking down this man. He had a handgun. Only one man with a handgun wasn't as bad as it could be. But it could always be worse. Officer Valdez initially took cover too when he heard the gunshots. That much was in his training. Although he noticed that the gunman wasn't firing at anybody in-particular. Instead he was going after Sofia Falcone. This was an opening. Maybe not for many other people but a trained officer was a different story.
The gunman was fixated towards the vehicle of Sofia Falcone. Officer Valdez holstered his weapon. "I'm going to rush him. Back me up on this one." The officer asked his partner. Officer Tito nodded, standing up behind Officer Valdez. Who then stood up and started to rush the gunman. He didn't even notice so that was a good sign. If he had his fixation on the police then perhaps it would have been a move that would be extremely reckless. Officer Valdez still made a choice though. That man was after Sofia Falcone, a woman that tried to make his life hell no more than seconds earlier. But her life was in danger. Her men's life were in danger too and while they wouldn't have let anything happen to her. The gunmans attention was focused on them. They probably didn't want to brandish weapons that were most likely unlicensed in front of the police either.
Officer Valdez charged as fast as he could. Tackling the gunman as hard as he could. What happened next hopefully meant everything turned out alright.
