It was a sunday morning… A very early sunday morning. A time when most were probably still tucked in bed or perhaps at church. Roy was at neither. Friday nights and especially saturday nights were pretty hefty. That the night ended, well in the early hours of the morning. It could make it difficult to get to sleep. Roy had managed to put his head down on a pillow for maybe an hour. Two tops, but his consumed mind didn’t exactly allow him sleep. Just allowed his stomach to growl, all that more. Perhaps a hero’s life was similar to a rock star’s life, but it certainly wasn’t glamourous. Whilst still at the bunker, Roy pulled on previously worn old jeans and a dark vintage tee. Shades on and grabbed his leather jacket. It was spring, but the weather was still a little nippy in the morning. He did not bother to shave. He did this from time to time, mostly because he couldn’t be bothered. So he was graced with a light scruffy dark shadow across his jawline. He left the bunker. Secretly of course. Though once met with the chill of the fresh early morning in the docklands. He easily blended in. Before he eventually found his car. He was a master at hiding it so well, it could almost. Almost make it hard for him to find, but being the fine hunter that he is. Very little was without his capabilities. Now, now. It was no fancy looking car like the many that Bruce or even Ollie had. It was an old vintage car. A beautiful machine, Roy had found very cheaply and run down. He had been mending it back to health. Along with replacing the adjustable roof. It now covered his head without a massive hole. Although it perhaps could use a shine, but Roy wasn’t so fazed about that.
Going home, was an option, but Roy couldn’t be bothered by that trip… Least now. As the he gave a massive yawn, but managed not to run off the road. Not that there was really anything that a light post on the side of the road, but he was always cautious. Driving up a few streets. Making a few turns. It wasn’t far, down in the south east area. As Roy made a turn into the quaint parking lot next to a cosy little diner. It was quite popular for the truckers on the truck route through Gotham and of course a couple locals. It was no waffle house, but well. It was perhaps better than. At least the coffee was. Roy made his way from his car through the front door of the diner. With the gentle ring of his arrival… Oh, crap. Roy didn’t even think to check his wallet. Put that down to being half awake. His mind ran a little as to where he saw his wallet last, whilst his hands instinctually patted at his pockets. Before landing on his wallet in his back pocket. Whew. Must have been there since he last used it. Pulling it out and flipped through it lightly. Not a lot of cash, but doable. Slipping it back in his pocket, as Roy slipped himself onto one of the seats in a booth, by the window. With a couple of other people at the counter and another two tables down. Otherwise, it was rather quiet.
The lovely lady that was here most mornings, Rosie. Greeted him as usual and offered to bring him the usual breakfast. The big breakfast with every thing, plus extra bacon. And of course, coffee. Black as Batman. As it came swiftly after he ordered, but the food would take a little longer of course. It was almost similar to the remedy of a hangover, but that had been awhile. As Roy pulled off his shades and sat them down. Before running a hand through his short hair. Before running both hands over his eyes. Escaping a subtle yawn. His body certainly in a state of numbness and aches. Most of which he grew to get use to. It was generally expected in his line of work. Oddly, both lines of work. Bringing the hot mug of coffee to his lips. Blew the surface off enough to not burn his lips. Throat, badly. Strong hit, was certainly a step in the right direction. Sending almost a buzz down his spine. As Roy awaited his breakfast. He pulled out his phone. You never know what might’ve gone down. Oooh, wow. The dark knight saved the evening. Again. How, he wasn’t at all surprised, little mentioning of the hell the outsiders went through last night, but it was better that way. Anonymous. As a brief mentioned said. Whatever. Least the city seemed to have settled down for the new day… Checking messages, which of course. There was none. Well, thats not true, but Wally sending him literally the funny pages to his phone really didn’t count. He’d note to look at them later. His eyes scrolled at the names of his homebodies, but he saw them enough… Oddly how his brain, as much as he was mostly trying not to think of anything. His eyes kept straying to a particular name… One of few, he could tolerate at this time in the morning. Well, that was the excuse he made. As he sent Kara a text. Inviting her to meet him here. If she was a sleep, then no matter, but he imagined there was the chance she was also awake. She was after all, super. So she claims. With slight amused smile and put his phone down on the table. Sipped again at his coffee. Lounging back in his seat. Letting very little in his mind, perhaps it was lucky he didn’t really have much going on. Or sad, depending on how you looked at it. He didn’t exactly have a steady job to go to, but he did thoroughly enjoy his band. His team… Hmmm, with this extra time. Perhaps he could find a job? Hmmm, nah. Maybe later. As often he thought and let go.

Kara had managed to doze off for a few hours when she got back to the bunker, figuring she might just hang around Gotham and work on her school work. She wouldn't fall behind, school was quite easy for her. More of just filling more time and a requirement by law. She was almost finished with school at her age.
And with her powers should could speed through it. It only took her moments to speed read and learn the human language.
Kara lay in bed and heard her phone buzzing as it vibrated on the small table along side her bed.
She managed to bring herself to reach out for her phone and look to see who was trying to get a hold of her. At the message, a slight smile came to her face. Roy must not have been able to sleep again. Heroes don't tend to be early birds and Roy could be one of them with the nightlife he leads on the weekends.
Kara didn't bother to text back right away and figured she might as well not waste the day.
Getting up she sped through getting ready and changed. She liked being about to use her powers to get to places quickly. It was fun surprising people that knew you had powers. And her super speed, no one would notice her arrival anyways. She could be as fast as the Flash or maybe faster?
So in getting ready she grabbed a pair of faded jeans, a white tank top, and grabbed a blue flannel shirt. Hey, she lived in Kansas for a while. Pairing it off with a pair of walking boots.
And lastly, just putting her hair up into a messy bun and grabbing a pair of glasses. Ok, she was some what pulling a Clark there. Though it was best to still play it safe at times with her face being out there more in the fighting field.
Kara used her super speed to go over to where Roy was, only seconds before texting him that she would join in.
Timing it perfectly she would show up there when the text would hit his phone, as she walked up behind him. Slipping into the seat next to him she voice piped up.
"Couldn't sleep this morning," she asked him.

Bringing the hot liquid to his lips, blew, but it still didn’t exactly prevent a little burning in the roof of his mouth. Strangely it was too early to even curse, utter just a hint under hi breath, but more or less let it go. There was no point in fighting it. Placing the cup back on the table. Leaning back into the booth seat, in ways comfy and potentially in need of repair. Stretched his legs out somewhere under the table, he did after all have a whole fricken table to himself, for now… Stretched and flexed his fingers. Cracking knuckles back into place, it wasn’t a very good habit, but hard to break. He could almost dose off now, but the caffeine was just enough buzz, he didn’t quite get there. Half not expecting a response, but casually Roy’s eyes did wander to the window beside him. Perhaps to take a glimpse of the little blonde, if it wasn’t all in a weird blur… He did catch the back of a blonde hair, but it was not Kara. Though there was a subtle wave exchanged none the less, as the unknown lady oddly found him looking. It was only polite and Roy was always polite. Then as swiftly as the woman passed, taking his cup back in hand, a buzzing then came at his phone. His hand taking to it, pulling up the message. Before he even began reading it, there was unexpected motion beside him. Seriously how do you ever get used to it or be prepared for it. Roy did not completely leap out of his skin, but it sure startled him enough to spill some coffee on himself. To think he was usually a man of stealth. Putting the cup back on the table, as Roy patted what he could off himself. Well, least he was more awake now.
”You are always perfect on your timing, love. I’d pay you back one of these days, but I know I’d fail… Hmmm, if I did at all, it kinda all just rolled into one. Too much on the mind… How did you sleep or not sleep, Kara?"
Always abrupt, perfect timing. As Roy enlightened to the many times before and too come. Played light to it, as he honestly did not mind in the slightest and coffee was the least troubling thing that had been spilled on him. It was nothing… Even as Roy could play and think he could find away to repay her for her many appearing out of no where stints… He was perhaps at a little bit of a lose, even though he was named Speedy for reason, but he was never super speedy. Thank god, he could never have lived that down… Before Roy then relaxed again in his seat and responded to her question. He was often one to sleep in, but so often he just didn’t sleep. Sometimes he could feel he was awake for days, it was never a good feeling… He couldn’t even answer her question honestly. He recalled trying to close his eyes, but with his head racing, it was hard to know if he slept or was awake. Either way it wasn’t remotely long enough. Least now, his mind wasn’t rushing around so much… Reaching for his coffee again, taking careful sips. Before asking Kara about her sleep. Perhaps a little better than he did, he couldn’t exactly tell of any darkness around her eyes… Not that he purposely staring… Just at that, his food had arrived. Bringing a rumbling and jumping in his gut. He was most delighted to have food before him, not that he was an overly chipper kinda person, but he wasn’t really much one to pass up good grub. Practically living on the streets could do that to you. That and the smell of bacon. Wasn’t easy to pass up. “And would you like anything, my dear?’ The waitress asked and addressed Kara, if she was in need of breakfast or beverage. Of course Roy could offer to share. As he sprinkled on a little seasoning
