Though she's been in Gotham for quite a few years by now, Iris is quite certain that she'll never get used to the cold and snow. She's still an Arizona girl, and as far as she's concerned even the rain in Gotham gets unacceptably freezing, so one can only imagine how she feels about snow. Well, except for the fact that it is, admittedly, very pretty to look at. Only if she doesn't have to be out in it, though, all wrapped up in her snow boots, snow pants, big winter coat, a scarf, gloves, and hat. If she only had a pair of goggles she'd be bundled up enough to ski, but this is what she does any time she needs to venture outside of a heated building.
And yet here she is, trying to psych herself up to take it all off. Underneath it all she has on a bikini because this is Gotham's annual Polar Bear Plunge. Which isn't an activity she'd normally volunteer for, but the proceeds of the event are being donated to Gotham's homeless shelters, and that's something that she's willing to support. Even if that support means jumping into a body of water that had to have the ice cleared off of it before the event because it's that freaking cold. She had to be reassured that it's a perfectly safe activity for a healthy adult, especially since she's definitely not going to stay in there any longer than it takes for her to be able to definitively state that she did it, but with that concern taken care of she knows that it's simply a matter of mind over body.
The venue for this event is the reservoir in Robinson Park, which Iris can appreciate because, though the city is surrounded and penetrated by many rivers and such, the water in them isn't exactly the most unpolluted place around. The reservoir isn't exactly drinking quality, but it's far less questionable and she has enough other things on her mind to not want to add that to it. On the shoreline the organizers have a tent set up, along with volunteers ready to welcome the participants on their way back out of the water with towels and cups of hot chocolate. She's standing in the area designated for people who will participate, listening to the event organizers thanking them all for coming, giving them a few safety instructions and such. Separated from them but surrounding them is a larger crowd of people who are here to watch and cheer them on, as it's much easier to find people willing to do that than to subject their body to extreme cold for a good cause.
OOC: This thread is completely open for anyone for any reason. Feel free to be very creative about what your character is doing, if you wish - I won't mind!
