To help warm up the growing chilly weather and in a way to welcome the fall. A party was arranged, a few weeks in the making by locals in Gotham. Mostly college kids and the young a like. Mostly heard of from friends, a flyer perhaps or a potential friendly yet weird stranger. Though it wasn’t set in any run down factory or Billy’s house or around the corner just begging for the cops to pull several plugs. This was set not too far out of the city, still very much there, but it was as you would say a little bit discreet. The buildings were in few and created quite the sky line from along the coast. Perfect location for a Bonfire and potentially wild party. Rather cheap too. With it being free. Along food, drinks and music. Not all overly good, but at a point it probably won’t even matter. The time will certainly be good if not epic. An epic night Roy certainly couldn’t pass up. Well, not the drinking part, he was still very much walking that line of staying sober, despite knowing it would potentially be pouring tonight and the beer kegs almost begging him, but no he wasn’t for that… He was here for the music mostly. Even though the gig wasn’t paid, but in this position any gig was a good gig. A place to be heard or simply to practise performing. Try out something perhaps different, this be the place to do it.
There was still a sun to set this time, but it was certainly closer to being dusk, as Roy arrived at the location. Dressed casually Jeans, white t shirt and red flannel shirt over the top. How he arrived there was rather subjectively, but you can be assured when in doubt Roy always finds a way or a friend. In a slight different fashion as a certain princess would… Not that he can’t say he never tried the kissing on the first day, but it was a little more hit and miss for him. Nonetheless, Roy was here and with instrument in hand. Shortly his band mates would meet him as he made way to an old boat dock, that would be used as a sort staging area. Not big, but hey why not use it whilst its there. There probably be other bands not just Roy’s, that be expected, but they were certainly prepared for it. Putting his guitar within the case down for the moment. He greeted Sara and Roxy shortly after. Along with some other familiar and soon to be familiar faces. Before helping to cart wood over to where the bonfire was being built. Carting the larger logs rather easy, breaking a minor sweat, impressing a couple ladies no doubt, even without super powers. Though of course somewhere, would be his Arsenal gear, where would be guessing game that be best not played.. Suppose with no telephone booth for that swift Krytonian change, he’d probably have to stick with slight wooded area from the coast… Well, it couldn’t be as bad as changing in a back alley, or lord like that one time… Yeah, Roy certainly didn’t need to relive that, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. Though his gut said there probably be less need for his equipment, at least here. He hardly expected to stay to late in the night, even if it made him sound old and going to bed early. When in fact its probably been a long time he hadn’t gone to bed before midnight, but insomnia more often than not suited him just fine… Sometime after offering hand to set up the bonfire and the kegs arrived. Aided a little in the starting of the fire. He was no boy scout, but he did grow up in a tribe. He knew a thing or two about starting fires, though he didn’t aid greatly, best avoid questions.
Roy motioned back to the little staging area, not far of course and greeted his band mates as they arrived. Setting up the instruments there wasn’t a lot of equipment given it be acoustic, as Roy then unbuckled his guitar case a pulled his instrument out. Ran his fingers along the strings and flick with a pick. It needed a little adjusting, so taking guitar in hand, Roy took a seat at the edge of the little dock and cradled his guitar on his lap. Began tweaking his guitar, taking his time to make sure it would be just right, it wasn’t the world’s greatest guitar and probably not even close, but it was his guitar. He knew it well. As he lifted his eyes off a little as the bonfire began to finally grow and almost roar. The heat was certainly a benefit as the sun was drawing to a close, the water some inches behind was starting to carry more of that chill over the surface and into the breeze. A reminder that summer was very much behind them and soon this will all probably be covered in snow soon. Which wasn’t all bad, if Roy could find a decent place to snowboard, but that would take some time… As Roy quietly continued to find tune his guitar and more people began to arrive at party.
