It had been a long night. Jason had been running around trying to solve a murder case all night. Not to mention it was raining. Rain always made bad nights worse. Jason always found that if you were having a good night rain made things fun, but rain on a bad night was like hell. After six long hours of hunting, Jason had tracked down the killer. By what Jason had found out, he was an old assassin trained by the League of Assassins, the ecoterrorist assassin league led by Ra's Al Ghul, one of Batman's trainers and the father of Jason's suitor while he was returning from the dead.
Red Hood pulled his binoculars off of their hip holster and looked down on the street below him. He walked closer towards the edge of the roof. He examined the street below him. There stood the assassin. Right where Jason thought he would be. He put his binoculars back, and took a deep breath. He exhaled and jumped off the roof. As he landed on the ground, he rolled and launched himself off the ground and punched the assassin. He threw a flurry of fists and kicks at the man, trying not to let the assassin get an opening to attack Jason. Jason slipped on the wet ground and fell. God damn rain. The assassin jumped on the opening. He went down behind Jason and began choking him. Jason elbowed the assassin in the gut, causing him to let go, and rolled out of the way. He ran and hid behind a nearby newspaper stand. He peered around the stand to see where the assassin was.
Gone. Where did he go? Jason wondered to himself, before he felt the cold steel blade pass through his side.
Jason yelled in pain. He rolled turned around and ripped the sword out of the assassin's hand. After that, Jason reached down to his hip holster, and in anger, pushed the pistol against the assassin's head. The assassin moved quickly, grabbing the pistol out of Jason's hand. The assassin turned around shot the gun. Jason's heart dropped as he saw what had been shot. It was some homeless kid just walking around. Jason ran towards the kid, as the assassin fled into the shadows. Jason examined the homeless kid. The gun shot had entered his chest. It wasn't deep enough to kill him, but he definitely needed medical attention. Jason turned around and looked for the assassin.
Gone. For good this time, Jason assumed. He winced as the adrenalin wore off and his stab wound began to hurt more and more. Jason squatted down, pulled off his helmet (With a domino mask under), and put his hand on the crying kid's shoulder. God dammit... Jason hated when innocent kids got involved. To think, this kid might die, just because an assassin needed a distraction to get away.
"I'm going to get you help. Just stay with me kid." Jason said softly.
Jason lifted the kid and talked to him as he jogged. He had to go to someone he trusted. Leslie Thompkins. Not to mention, Jason didn't know if the poor kid could even pay for a real organized hospital. Jason breathed a sigh of relief as he reached the clinic. He barged through the door.
"Leslie! You need to help this kid!" Jason yelled, running into the room the older woman was in. Thompkins was definitely someone he could trust. She knew about the secret identities of all of them, and she obviously hadn't ratted them out yet. Jason set the boy down on the table. His vision blurred and he got sweaty. It was probably from the mix of physical exertion and the loss of blood.
"Leslie... Y-you have to... You have to help him..." Jason managed to sputter out, before he fell to the ground and fainted.
