(NOTE: This is Not Canon to anything that is happening at the moment. It's just a fun thread to celebrate one of my favorite people! Happy Birthday, Jonathan!! It is completely open, civilians, cops, villains, heroes. It's a Comedy Thread, but whatever happens in it does not affect what happens elsewhere in the site.
Rules: There is no order in regards to posting. If someone is talking directly to you then you can continue postings to that person directly. Be respectful though, if you are having a conversation with three people, don't just skip third person because it might be taking them longer to respond. Fairly obvious stuff, even though not as smart as me, I think you get it.
Without further ado, let's celebrate Jon's Birthday!!)
It had taken Edward a few weeks to get everything set. He completely gutted one of his warehouses, and then went to work on redecorating it. From the outside, it looked creepily abandoned, but on the inside it looked like something from a horror flick. He had divided main floor of the warehouse into a maze, which was full of random thugs he hired dressed as zombies and other strange creatures to jump out at people as they walked through. He filled the walls with real blood from the hospital, adding spider webs, and a real corpse. Within the maze, the lights seemed to flicker on and off with no pattern whatsoever. Nine Inch Nails played in the background, sometimes cracking as if someone had scratched the CD.
Edward stood in the back of the warehouse in the section the end of the maze led its participants to. It was a flat section, filled with drinks, food, and similar decorations, but the music was kept at a reasonable level, so you could still hear other speak. There was a giant cake in the shape of the Scarecrow’s mask, the candles surrounding the creepy smile on the bake good. He made a special orange looking punch that obviously had tons of mixture of alcohol within it. He invited everyone because he knew Jonathan wouldn’t do it himself, and even though he knew Jonathan hated parties, he wanted to do something fun for him, besides Edward’s genius mind suspected deep down, Jonathan actually liked the attention.
Normally, in these types of situations, you would invite the guests earlier and have the person come later to be surprised, but Edward thought Jonathan would prefer to hear the panic and nervousness as people went through the maze. Edward invited everyone, and by everyone, it meant citizens too, who merely thought this was some random haunted house, so he suspected a few people would truly be terrified, so he had told Jonathan to arrive at 8:30pm, even though it didn’t start until 9pm.
His text was simple. The time and address.
The public received flyers, while his fellow rogues received personal invitations from the great Riddler himself.
Edward felt giddy. Jonathan would have no idea of this birthday celebration. He did always love putting that man on his toes. He waited patiently and perked up as he heard the warehouse doors open into the maze.
"Yes, now the game can begin," he spoke to himself with a huge grin on his face.

The Scarecrow had come in costume, not because he was asked to, but because he thought it was appropriate for where he was told to go. It was a suspicious location, somewhere where Edward would try to have one of his death traps set up; he needed to be prepared regardless, so he came in costume. He walked up to the large where house doors and opened them. The atmosphere was immediately something that he expected from Edward, but it was different. Why was there…music? The walls were oozing with fog and lights were flashing. Everything seemed to be dark and old, it obviously had been put together but it reminded him of one of those houses on Halloween. Halloween was always his favorite holiday for obvious reasons, but he did everything way better than anyone else that didn’t understand the true meaning of it. But it wasn’t Halloween so…What was this? As he went further in a zombie jumped out and tried to bite him. He quickly jumped out of the way and rammed the man’s head into the wall. It was immediately clear that it was a costume. As the man fell over and grabbed his head in pain he didn’t apologize and he didn’t flinch. Instead, he decided to just step around him and move on. Another person dressed as a werewolf jumped out as growled at him but again he didn’t jump. This time he walked by casually, just trying to get to the end of this twisted maze. When he finally came to the end It opened up into a large presentation area. His eyes were immediately drawn to the man standing in front of a lit up object. It was none other than Edward Nigma. Things were starting to click into his mind immediately. His eyes were then drawn to the large cake with his face on it. At first he had no visible reaction. His eyes ran over the candles and the various tables and wine glasses set out. This was a party… He his head turned upward in his mask to gaze upon the DJ in a both high above that was visibly in the mood to the music he played. The song was something he related very closely to. It scratched and cracked every now and then making the lights spin and blink in the room. Slowly he took the mask from his face and looked at Edward again for the first time since he’d come in. His eyes reflected the light of the room even better than his mask did. It was subtle at first, but a large smile began to stretch across his face as he walked up to him. This was his party… The Scarecrow had never had a party thrown for him before. He wondered if this was Edward’s way of putting everything behind them. But they were always going to be two male lions locked in the cage together. He put his mask in his back pocket and sighed, adjusting the frame of his glasses. “ I would say you’ve out done yourself Edward Nigma…But that would be impossible.” He actually complimented him in the best way he knew how. Short of what he would never say it was the closest thing he could come to. Edward had actually thrown a Birthday party for him… He never thought anyone would ever do this for him. Dr. Crane looked around in awe and then his eyes came back to Edward’s to stay there. He didn’t have to say thank you to him, it was there in the awe of his eyes. He almost laughed when he heard one of the thugs he paid grunt out in pain, obviously getting hit. It meant he had actually managed to surprise him in a way, the great Master of Fear surprised. The rest of his journey in the maze stayed fairly silent, and he smirked when he watched the man come to the party area in full costume. Edward, himself, was dressed in costume, bright green suit, mask, hat, everything, except he had stained it in blood to give it a zombie looking look. He also painted his face a bit paler with fake zombie make up, but since Edward does everything perfectly, it looked fairly real. An undead Riddler. Edward Nigma never did anything less than a hundred percent, and if he was going to throw a birthday party, it would be the best damn birthday party.
He watched the mask slip off his face, and his eyes fell upon a real smile from Dr. Jonathan Crane. It wasn’t the first time he had been graced with such a look, but they were so rare, he always beamed with pride when he got one.
He grinned at his statement and brought Jonathan a cup full of the bright orange alcoholic beverage. “I’ve never heard a truer statement leave your lips,” he said, his ego getting large, “As you know, I have so many talents, perfection radiates off of me.” He handed the cup to Jonathan. “Happy Birthday,” he said, tapping his glass to his before taking a sip.
“I hope you didn’t spend the entire day alone doing boring task, but I suspect that was the case. You’re quite lucky to have me in your life because I invited everyone you know and everyone you might get to know to this. People should start showing up soon, but before they do.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a large envelope and handed it to Jonathan. “A present, and while I was debating about getting you a puzzle book, I decided against it.”
Inside the envelope was an picture of an X-ray of Edward’s arm. It was the X-ray he had the doctor take after Jonathan dosed him with fear toxin when he asked for help. It was the first day they really started to talk, even though, it had ended badly. Edward had signed his name in the bottom right hand corner of the picture.
He didn’t focus that much attention because he quickly moved on to the next topic. “The real reason for all of this is that I’m trying to solve a riddle,” Edward smirked, with an evil glint in his eye, “Riddle me this, what is the Scarecrow like when he is completely drunk?”

Dr. Crane took the glass from him when it was offered. He raised it to him to meet it with his glass and put it to his lips, but he didn’t drink. He merely tipped it to his lips but had no desire to take a sip. There were several reasons behind this, Edward hadn’t been the most worthy of his trust in being handed a glass, not that he’d ever earned that…..Or maybe he had. He had drunk from his cup before. After another moments thought he actually took a large drink from it and nodded as the spiked beverage warmed his throat. He tried to get used to the words Happy Birthday, but he had nothing to say in return to it.
It was good that he didn’t have to, even if he had wanted to say something Edward had already jumped right in to pry and then gloat about his own day that he had planned for him. Everyone was invited? Dr. Crane shifted at the thought and lowered the glass to his side in thought. Dr. Crane hadn’t exactly been making friends since he and Edward had begun speaking again. He doubted anyone would show up to this party, whether Edward invited them or not. Even civilians that were invited would stay away from this party.
He caught Edward’s eyes as he turned to give him a present, another foreign gesture. He set his glass on the table that held the cake of his image and took the envelope. Before he decided to open it he looked over Edward’s costume. He looked his regular self except much more from his own world this time. He studied the lines and depression on his face. Edward had looked as if he’d actually crawled out of the grave, as elegantly as possible of course, but his form was always perfect.
When his mind caught back up with what Edward was saying he quickly opened the package to see something he never thought he would. The Xray was faded and then lit at times do to the flashes about the room. He could see where the fracture had happened and how perfectly aligned he had put that arm. Everything was in place, right where it belonged. This gift to him meant more than just the results of an xray, and that’s why he had signed it. His eyes looked up from the page to lock with Edward’s. He never had the words to thank him and he didn’t think he ever would. Instead Dr. Crane took the xrays and put them gently back into the package. He put it under his arm and held it there protectively.
He stared at him as he spoke his riddle. The lights moved and bounced about the room, reflecting off of him and his suit and moving over it. He caught his look and simply tilted his head. “Come now Edward…simply giving you the answer would be far too easy. In my world, it is much better to be shown than to be told…” He flashed him a fleeting smile before he picked up his glass from the table again, rose it to him and then kicked it back. The warm fluid filled him up and he quickly set the glass back down. It was going to be a night to remember.
“But you didn’t come to do anything easy.” He continued and moved to the scaffolding that went up and passed the Dj’s booth to the top of the room. He wanted to see how thoroughly and vast his party was actually put together. Edward knew that his limit was three drinks, he’d never allow himself to lose that kind of control, but that was the challenge in it wasn’t it?....and he knew that one of them couldn’t resist a challenge. His hands grasped on to the first bar and he hosited himself up expecting Edward to follow or lose.
