To someone without a life like hers, it may be surprising just how bored Dionisia can be when she's a ghost. Yes, she has amazing powers in this form, but what good are they when you run out of things that you want to do with them and at the same time you can't exactly go do all the normal things that people do? Sometimes at night she's able to fill the time by running a few 'errands', like when she needs to 'take care' of a problematic person, but such tasks are generally easily accomplished and she doesn't have nearly enough enemies for that to occupy her full time. And while she was at one point immature enough to fill the time by using her powers to prank people at random or eavesdrop or spy on them, when you don't have a personal grudge against them that sort of thing gets old surprisingly quickly - instead she's found that doing such things only occasionally helps preserve the humor of it.
There are, of course, more productive pursuits - it's quite easy for her to do such mundane tasks as reading and studying things that she'd like to know, for example. But it seems to her that as time marches forward, the body of published literature continues to grow but the quality of what's available has gone down - reading all the books worth reading doesn't take very long because they're such a minority. And that and other forms of study can easily exhaust the mind of done too intensely for too long.
And it's that sort of difficulty in keeping herself occupied that has resulted in her drifting aimlessly and invisibly above the city, passively observing for anything that might be vaguely interesting to happen while letting her mind wander. Earlier in the evening she had a short list of things to do, but that list is finished, and though she has another short list of things to do just before sunrise and a much longer one for right after sunrise, right now it's two in the morning so she has hours left to kill. And it's late enough now that even most of the night owls have gone to bed, so Gotham itself seems to be resting and waiting for the impending dawn to wake it up again.
Still, there's got to be something interesting happening in the city right now...

Interesting! Interesting is an overstatement when it comes to this kind of life! Especially here in Gotham City, where it's very "interesting" indeed. The thug Canary was chasing on this beautiful night was on the rooftops of this jungle. He was leaping and rolling, this guy had some serious parkour skills. Jumping form building to lower building, fire escape to ledges. He really didn't want to get caught tonight. But Canary was just as fast and had her own skills as well. Is all this really worth a few jewels? Apparently yes, but Dinah didn't mind, she loved it! The obstacle course of skyscrapers, the wind in her hair. Bring it chump!
"I'm going to kick your ass so good when I catch you!" Then man just kept going not paying attention to Canary's trash talk. But finally the crook met his end, literally the end. There was no where else to run, a dead end. No more buildings below, no more ledges, just the ground below. There he stood on the ledge just looking over the city below. "End of the line! Ready to hit the ground from my beatdown?" Dinah chuckled to herself. The man then jumped... Dinah gasped. "No! I didn't mean the ground literally you dumbass!" Did this guy have a death wish? What was his plan?
As the man had leaped from the ledge Dinah then charged and lunged after him. Now with her arms around his waist Dinah and the thug were free falling. Dinah life was flashing before her eyes as the adrenaline and velocity made her nervous. Stupid Dinah, all this for some jewels? This bird can't fly, what was she thinking. Hope she has a plan!
"God I wish I had a grappling hook like Batman right now!"

Believe it or not, a chase across the rooftops isn't that interesting to Dionisia. It's one of those 'been there, seen it' things. Still, it's interesting enough that when she sees movement across a rooftop in the distance she teleports to it to see what's happening and then remains to observe the chase, at least for a bit - for her it's a bit like television, except she can watch it from any angle and as near or as far as she wants. All without being detected while she's made herself invisible and unsubstantial, unless they have some sort of ability to sense magic she doesn't know about - which is a rare ability, fortunately for her.
Of course, another difference between this and television is that she has the ability to interact with the action if she wishes. Usually she doesn't. Why should she care which person wins this chase? She doesn't know either of them. Even when they jump off of the building she doesn't immediately feel the need to intervene - why should she care if they die? They'll both be dead in a hundred years anyway.
It's fortunate though that the building that they're falling off of is quite high, however - this gives Dionisia a moment to realize that perhaps she doesn't want the clearly suicidal woman to die. Why she feels that way she doesn't stop to ponder about - mostly because she doesn't have the time to do so. Instead she acts.
Teleporting to a point directly behind the falling pair, she floats down with them as they fall and grabs the woman from behind with both arms around her waist. It's an odd feeling, being grabbed by a ghost - to be held by something quite strong and firm that doesn't have any weight to it. She's neither cold nor warm, but the temperature of the air around her. In fact since she's still invisible and only made herself solid, the only difference between her and the air around her is that the vigilante she's holding would get the distinct feeling that she's being held by someone even though there doesn't appear to be anyone.
"Let him go. I can't save both of you, I don't have the strength," she says as she starts using her ability to float to slow their descent. Which is true, because while she has many powers as a ghost, enhanced strength is not one of them. In fact she technically doesn't even have the strength to carry the vigilante. She can, however, slow their descent to something survivable - not unlike a parachute, actually.
If she lets go of the man, anyway - saving both is simply impossible for Dionisia. But she doesn't have enough concern for the man even to silently hope that he had some sort of a plan when he jumped off the building. If he'd been stupid enough to jump without a plan, then he deserves to die - her only concern is for the young woman who was stupid enough to do the same thing in order to catch him. She deserves to die too, but while Dionisia is famous for giving people what they deserve, she'll make an exception in this case.

Dinah's heart was racing, beating at what felt like a thousand times a second. All she could see was the street below and the hundreds of windows on the opposite building. Think fast Dinah, what can I do to save myself and the insane man. I mean anyone would have to be insane to jump off a building, yet here I am! They were half way down, getting closer and closer to impact. Think! Think! All of a sudden Canary felt a weird of sensation around her abdomen, a kind of pressure. Something was clinging onto her, the vigilante and the thug were now descending not as fast as they once were but still falling at a steady pace. "Let him go. I can't save both of you, I don't have the strength." A soft voice spoke.
What? What was that? Is it my conscience? Wow, even my brain thinks I'm crazy. I can't let him go, he needs help. A lot of help. Dinah then began to shake her head, trying to get the thought of letting go of the man. Dinah then began to scream. "Nooooo! I can't! I won't!" She then then thought quickly and tucked the man's head down and began to take a deep breath, while doing this she still felt the grasp around her waist of the unexplainable sensation.
Almost to the ground but still falling fast and rapidly for death. Dinah with the man somewhat out of her target range began to release her signature ability the canary cry at the ground. "Skreeeeeeeee!" Hopefully the supersonic force of her ultrasonic scream and the assistance of the unknown entity can slow down their speed and maybe save their lives.
Why couldn't this guy go down in the sewers or something? Why jump off a building!

When the young woman refuses, Dionisia can't help but roll her eyes at the sheer stupidity. While she personally can laugh in the face of death and come out good as new, if it weren't for that she would find anyone willing to sacrifice themselves in an attempt to save someone else completely and utterly ridiculous. Well, unless it was a mother for their own child - she's seen that one enough to know that even the perfectly sane do that sort of thing, but she can't identify with that feeling personally since she's never had any.
In any event, though she's tempted to abandon the falling woman to her fate, she persists in her own efforts anyway because she does have the hope that the sight of the quickly approaching ground may persuade a last minute mind change. It doesn't really matter to Dionisia how fast the ground is approaching because she'll be just fine regardless, so it's no gamble to her either way.
But instead of a mind change, what she gets instead is a sudden, over-poweringly loud assault on her ears. Since she's not in the way of it, it's merely a loud noise to her, but that's bad enough to make her curse and her grip loosens a little as she fights the urge to cover her ears. She manages to hang on though until the last instant, when her help against gravity no longer matters, at which point she abruptly teleports a little bit away to observe the impact instead of being involved in it. She has no idea if the physics involved slowed the other two down enough to keep them in one piece or not.
In fact she doesn't really care if she's talking to a living person or a corpse as she rubs at her ear and complains, "Warn me next time you do that. Or, better yet, don't do it again. You should have just let him go." Such is her distraction with her ears, she neglects to notice that she's forgotten to keep herself invisible - something she never does, but then again she's never been right behind someone who can do that while they do it either.
She's wearing a well-tailored skirt suit and pearl jewelry - standard attire for her during the daytime. Still, even if the young woman is familiar with the face of her congresswoman, her hair and makeup are different enough that she looks more like a younger sister of herself as she appears during the day than herself. And the fact that you can still see right through her tends to be distracting enough to give whoever is looking at her something else to think about besides the specifics of her features.

The sensation of someone holding her was now gone, but Canary really didn't really realize it because she was still falling for her death. She then heard the voice again and it was complaining about the sound. What? Definitely not in my head right? But after her efforts, the canary cry was working just enough to get them in close distance to the ground for a somewhat safe landing. But, the landing wouldn't be easy. Still emitting the supersonic waves they were getting closer and closer to ground until they crashed onto of a parked car. Was he still alive? Wait... I'm still alive!
The man beneath her wasn't moving, shit! Is he..? The man started to... beep? Wait... what is this? Canary slowly backed away as the man continued beeping smashed on top of the roof of the vehicle. Is he an android of sorts that is now a bomb? She then looked around looking fro who ever or what ever cause his trigger. She then noticed hovering in the sky a see through type woman, ghostly to be more blunt. Is she the voice? The man continued to beep.
"What the hell is going on?" She couldn't believe her eyes, what was she seeing. "I need to find out what is..." BOOOM! The car exploded throwing Canary to the side. Canary then looked to the destroyed vehicle where there once was a man she tried to save and then back to the ghostly woman. Canary was hurt just a little sore and shaken. "Hello! Do you have any idea what that was about? Are you involved?" Canary then paused. "Are you even real? Or am I crazy?" What would an android jewel thief and a ghost have anything to do with one another? Does she know something? Whatever it is, the woman helped save her life! "Thank you!!!" Canary then began to walk away trying to figure things out.

Probably because she wasn't the one in mortal peril mere moments ago, Dionisia is quick to notice that the man that the blonde had been trying so desperately to save is beeping. Really? "You'd better get away from that," she observes, though she thinks that the young woman is too distracted by trying to figure that out for herself to notice. When it all suddenly explodes, the ghost doesn't even flinch - she'd been expecting something like that would happen and the debris flies right through her with no harm done.
Between the fall and the explosion, she's a bit surprised that the metahuman is even still alive, but it seems that this young woman is all kinds of lucky today. When attention is turned to her, she's a little surprised for a moment until she glances down at herself and notes that she's visible. Ah, that explains it... "No. And no," she answers the questions in turn, her voice rather dry, "Yes. And yes - you just jumped off a building with no way to save yourself in order to save a robot who just exploded. Clearly you are insane."
When the woman gives her thanks and turns away, Dionisia frowns and folds her arms across her chest as she hovers in place asks, "You just had a ghost help save your life, and all you have to say about it is 'thank you'?" Not normally being one to help anyone, she's not sure what sort of reaction she's supposed to expect from such a thing. But still, she'd figure that there ought to be a bit more to it than that. Not that she expects anyone to throw a parade or money at her - she needs neither - but two words of gratitude seems inadequate. See why she never helps people?
