Diana was walking beside her new friend Julia who was pointing out the shoes in the windows of a few shops continuously chatting about how they would be cute and which outfit that she could 'totally' wear that with. She was pretty sure that a few times she mentioned outfits that Diana had worn a few times herself and how the shoes would match those too.
It was nearly a block later that Julia pulled her by the crook of her elbow into a shop where she made the most high pitched squeaking noise that Diana had to rub her ear for a moment to be sure she could still do it.
“Do you want to try a pair on?” Julia gushed and Diana shook her head.
“I think I have enough shoes already.”
“You mean the same two pairs that you wear everywhere?” the woman frowned.
“Yes. What's wrong with them?”
“Nothing,” she said waving a hand to dismiss the conversation.
“I'm going to leave you to your shoes Julia as I have to make an appointment in an hour. I'll see you later?” Diana asked as she smiled at the woman. Julia bobbed her head and held out her hands to give a hug which Diana accepted gratefully before she turned to walk out of the shop.
Promptly turning she nearly knocked the person walking in the opposite direction over, barely catching them as they started to fall. “I'm sorry,” she said holding them until they got settled, “Are you alright?”

Mid morning to late. There had been little track of time, as Roy had found himself somewhere now in the midst of the Monolith Square… Shockingly not for shopping. He was a little too broke for that and could make a cheap tee look half decent. Which pretty much upon leaving this morning. Roy had grabbed a pair of jeans hung over a chair and red t-shirt half sticking out from under his bed. A gentle spray under the pits. Comfy no name shoes. Scruff and quick play of his brown hair… Of course the most important thing… His guitar… Yep, he had some practising to do with his band, his pals… One of which had rented out a small like hall, perhaps a previously being a cafe, somewhere in the mix of the Monolith Square… It had decent acoustics, but most of all it was cheap and had power to plug in… It hadn't taken a long warm up, before they were making some cool sounds. Playing with a couple new tunes, for an up coming gig. The practising up until now was certainly going well, a few little tweaks, but that was expected. Perhaps the up coming gig, added a little more excitement and good amount of pressure. That always got the mind going. The vocals. The strings. Ah, yeah, such a pleasure as music could never get old for Roy. So yeah, time kinda went however it did, but after a decent run. They took a break.
Roy stepped away from the mic and propped his guitar somewhere to the side of the stage. Left the venue and took a break outside. Almost rampaged by the stampeding of shoppers. Heads in every which way. Possibly starring at the next window, or heads down with fingers on the phone. Only made Roy feel a little more longing to get back into the swing and potentially lose himself in music. It was one of few things that made sense to him and yet in someways it didn't need to make sense. It just was, but sure he was feeling somewhat accomplished by the practise so far. In his head going over a couple of tunes. Was joined by Jared, who handled mainly the keyboard…. Chatted a little… Pulled out and lit up a cigarette. Leaned against the wall of the venue. Relaxed. Chilled. Carefree in a sense… Before the sun came a little to glaring over top, to which Roy grabbed at his sunglasses hanging at the front of his red t-shirt and promptly put them on. Shading his brown eyes. After a few minutes. A little back to back chatting, about work, life and so on. Jared turned and left to get some coffees.
Leaving Roy now by himself. Least momentarily and now after a decent amount of drags from his smoke. Roy turned in direction of the bin closely by and put out his bud… Oh yeah, he was all about the environment, didn't you hear? Well, one could say he somewhat tried… It seemed almost on point in turning back, maybe he lined himself up for it. However it happened… It happened… Usually he was the one making the ladies weak at the knees… As the impact, almost quite directly half barrelled Roy over… It was the glimpse of the 'woman' as he motioned to look. To see, that pushed Roy to the ground and practically landing on his ass. Hopefully more manly, than gracefully, but he was a little distracted to care… Feeling the slight sway of his head and blinking. Half shaking his head in near disbelief. His hands fell either side to the pavement. Slowly he looked. He was guaranteed who he thought he saw would be long gone, but that didn't seem the case. For another brief moment… It was like a wash over him. His sunglasses fell off. Allowing his eyes to show a little bit of the shock and a little of left over pain. His mouth partially like with a mind of its own fell open… No, he wasn't quite having a near death experience… He just saw the striking similarity… Naturally it would hit the wind out of him… He heard, but was a little too taken to responded right away… On point, but soon as reality sank back in and ghosts fled. His partial opened mouth, now closed into a somewhat growing smile. Subtle, yet charming. It was just natural.
"Thanks! Oh yeah… I'm quite alright, I probably had it coming… This is a pleasant surprise… I hardly expected to see you in downtown Gotham… How have you been?"
Roy in kind responded as Diana helped him to settling on his feet. He brushed a little dust off his jeans, taking his sunglasses in one hand… It wasn't a hard fall, so there was a chance tomorrow his ass wouldn't be bruised, but in his role. Bruises came and went faster than pimples… His ego was hardly rubbed, despite maybe the faint tint of red to his scruffy cheeks, but easily brushed it off. Grinned with a little more amusement as he joked a little. Laugh it off. Although it wasn't the first time an amazon tumbled him over, so yeah he probably was due for it. Smirked a little, before collecting himself to more directly speak to Diana. Sure there was some rushing back of memories of Donna, but with all the similarities, they were also quite different… Meaning very much what he said. His hand catching upon her dark, delicate yet strong hand to motion for a kiss. He lingered a little before he took a step back. Held her hand in simple a gesture and covering it with his other hand, with his sunglasses somewhat between his fingers. Asking how she was. In general. From since he last saw her at the memorial. A charming expression on his face, yet his throat certainly caught a little.

Diana waited, patiently, for the man to confirm that he was alright. She was hoping she didn't unintentionally give him a consussion. Perhaps he didn't hear her? He could be deaf she assumed but he looked familiar. Someone she hadn't seen in a long time and someone she wasn't specifically anticipating meeting on the street at that very moment. As she stared at him giving him a smile about ready to ask him if he was alright again and if she needed to take him to the hospital, his gaping mouth closed and turned into a crooked smile.
Diana continued to wait patiently but patience was turning into one of those awkward sileneces that you didn't know when to break them because you weren't sure what to say. Whether she should apologize again or if she should just move on. Her decision was that if the man didn't respond in the next few seconds she would apologize to him and offer to take him to the hospital.
“You speak! Oh good,” she said jokingly as she gave him a smile and greeted her like he knew her. She knew he looked familiar but she was still having a hard time placing the face to the name. “I've been good. You? I hope I didn't hurt you too much, I was fleeing the scene of shoe shopping,” Roy! That was his name she was pretty sure. It was when he kissed her hand that she remembered the gesture. It was another ceremony that men did that Diana wasn't so sure about. She was told it was supposed to be sweet and affectionate but it just seemed odd to her.
Ignoring the gesture as she pulled her hand away to let it dangle at her side as she awaited the response from the man.

Somewhat bawled over and pretty much Roy had fallen square on his ass. It certainly wasn't the first time, but who had seemingly ran into him… Was as he reacted, was most unexpected. No doubt and Roy could hardly blame her for thinking there was something truly wrong with him. Who knows, maybe there was something mentally wrong with him. Its not like he hadn't been accused of it before, but no. No. In a city like Gotham. He was more put together… As he now with little effort dragged his ass off the floor, enough to greet the too familiar face… Diana. Wonder Woman. Princess. Amazon. Certainly somewhere was less overwhelming, but Roy was a little at a loss to control the subtle lump on his throat. There was less avoidance of the fact she had reminded him of things. Of someone of the past. For a moment sprang almost right into the present. As Roy stumbled a little, quickly regained his senses and his feet. Though possibly left a little bit of his pride on the pavement. As his cheeks went a little to the famous red and chuckled in response to Diana.
"Yes… Hopefully it isn't coming out all gibberish like…?"
Roy began most confidently with his words, before his hand caught a little at the back of his neck… It was rare he was tongue tied, thankfully no one saw Roy's less than impressive encounter with the ground. Joking whilst with an apologetic tone in his voice, if Roy was being less than himself. Whether lack of speech and lack of well awareness. He was sure he was fully aware now. Beading off a single smile. A gentle sigh. Before his hand drop. Along with naturally dropping any guard he had. Though he noted the almost puzzling look in Diana's eyes. Perhaps he made even a worse impression last time. Maybe it had been a stab to think she'd remember his name… He wasn't flashy by any means and last time she saw her, was probably around the time he had recently been in a ditch… So… Less impressive… Though there seemed to be a peak. Perhaps of recognition. As Roy pointedly listened to hear how she had been. It seemed like months ago. Some days it had seemed like yesterday and other days potentially years. It could be fricken terrifying.
"You look good… Oh you know. Keeping myself busy and I can attest I've been doing a lot better, since you last saw me, Diana… Hurt? You kidding me. I'm almost like a brick wall… Almost. I suppose I tumbled like old humpty dumpty…!"
Roy responded initially quickly, though sincerely. Meaning of course as far as health, as Roy mindfully glanced over her healthy filled cheeks. Of course it could be easy to mistake for him checking her out, he was Roy Harper, but in this case. He was just pleasant to see her. To be in her company. Roy offered a friendly smile, before his eyes dropped for a moment before returning and responding to how he had been. Especially since the last time she would have seen him. When he was struggling to get to his feet in a totally different fashion. Keeping it lighted heart enough and well 'keeping busy' it was kinda broad. Being a hero. Leading the outsider. Enrolled in AA and making music in between it all. Jamming here. Jamming there. Playing off a little as Diana hoped she hadn't hurt him. Joking lightly, but mostly in suggestion he be fine. He could deal with hurt. He dealt with it daily, but at the most he may feel a slight strain in his lower back tomorrow. She wasn't the first super strong woman he had run into before and possibly not the last. Laughing subtly, at himself… Stopping momentarily as Diana mentioned shoe shopping… For a moment Roy has a flashing image being stuck in a shoe department with screaming women. Almost like the last hour of Pearl Harbour, particularly on a sale day. He loved women, but even he had to shiver. Giving Diana a sly teasing look...
"Ah, shoes! Nasty buggers. Don't tell me your super speed is on the fritz and you came running to me? I do know a few things about fleeing a scene, I wasn't called Speedy for nothing… Where were you fleeing off too? Maybe I can, help!"
Lightly Roy amusingly commented shortly after he let go of her hand, shoes. Yeah, he never understood why people need to over do it… Not that he could admire a good pump, but it was more down to the foot in the shoe. He was sure, and less heels stuck in his guts… Of course in his teasing suggestion that she came running into him, because well he was Speedy, he expected to get his ass whooped for that, of course given he was being overly serious. Given the sign in his too perfect grin to Diana right now. This was hardly a place for super powers, but hey he couldn't exactly resist sometimes… Before with a slight forward shift of his head, asking where she was fleeing off too… His eyes briefly looking from where she came from. Contemplating if it was just the shoes of also a somebody she was fleeing from. Either way, he was all up to fleeing with her. Not that he was trying to offer a little hint of a cheeky smile. But, maybe catch a beverage somewhere or even so her his guitar. He had to wonder had she ever seen him play before? That was a thought.

Diana smiled and laughed as he said he was fine again and mentioned something about, “Humpty Dumpty?” perhaps she didn't understand it because it was something of this world. It was an odd phrase to say the least. Truly she was just glad that he didn't appear to have a concussion. She would have felt terrible and likely would have had to cancel her evening plans to make sure that he didn't have further issues. Knowing he wasn't a normal human was a good start to easing her worries.
“No,” she responded with a shake of her head as she pushed her hair behind her ear. “Just trying to get away to an appointment I have in an hour across town,” or in Metropolis, but who was keeping track of distances. “It's really no big deal. I was just in a hurry before my friend tried to get me to try on shoes. I'm pretty sure that the pair I'm wearing are just fine,” she pointed down to her sensible tennis shoes that were still pretty clean. “It would have made me late,” she explained.
“Were you on your way anywhere? Maybe I can walk with you for a few minutes before I have to go get to my meeting? As long as it has absolutely nothing to do with shoe shopping I think we will be pretty safe on the not looking where I'm going front,” she advised him with a smile.

Surely, everyone knew Roy Harper, was about being stealth. Smooth. Cool. Suave… Yep, he totally could de-sell that one, right? Laugh it off, as if he wasn't a complete moron. Insecurities almost flew away, even if some remained, in times you wouldn't even know. Because whilst Roy was good at stealth, he was possibly good at burying things. From time to time. Naturally he was good with a shovel, surprisingly. With his slight noticeable red cheeks as Roy had approached Diana, with a little more of himself together… He flashed another shade as Diana spoke his words back to him, with notable confusion. Nice, Roy, nice. He could almost mutter to himself, suppose it was a good thing Diana didn't know… Because, does Roy really strike as someone that sings nursery rhymes… He couldn't even begin to remember anyone had ever really sang a rhyme him. He must have picked it up from somewhere. "Don't tell me you are low on your earthly nursery rhymes, Diana? Basically, he was an egg that fell off a wall and like most mortals… We can be fragile, like an egg… Lame?"
Playfully Roy asked, with a slight raise of his brow and sure a tone he was partially making fun of himself, that he knew. The so called, JLA, probably didn't really spent the time singing. Roy couldn't even process without throwing up a little to think Batman could have a nursery rhyme in him. Superman on the other hand, wasn't he like a nursery rhyme. He sure had the whole, plane. Bird, charade. In most cases Roy would prefer a bird or a plane or well, Wonder Woman… Flashing Diana a slightly smile. He certainly wouldn't be against teaching Diana, nursery rhymes. Though it could either be an endearing thing or a little too insightful of Roy. As he span lightly the details of the nursery rhyme. Without sounding like a complete child. Motherless and in some cases no real family. Roy had grown up in ways faster and in ways he didn't grow up. He liked to think he grew up where it counted… As Roy un-shamefully called himself fragile, playfully as always. Perhaps it just made less sense, as Roy asked. One could certainly say he had an interesting relationship with words and often they could escape him… A half smile came to his lips as he let more of the playful banter guard down, as Diana responded and shook her head. It really was in all seriousness, good to see her again. No matter the reason…. He really didn't care if there wasn't a reason. Motioning a little to the side, as an almost rush of people came by…. It took little guess where a lot of their minds were at… His turned towards Diana as he listened. It was hard not to with the commanding, yet smooth vocals she had, it was easy listening… Roy stopped himself, as his almost natural nosy self was casually curious what was her appointment. Was she rushing simply not to be late for it or because it was a particular appointment? Suppose, she wouldn't be like him not eager to get his root canal done… Call Roy strong, but there are certain appointments, he wouldn't rush for. So he bit his tongue a little, feeling she probably would have told him, if he wanted him to know. It was certainly a surprise to imagine Diana shopping for shoes or really doing anything domestic like shopping. Roy smiled, nodded as Diana pointed downwards and Roy's eyes happily followed. Plain, simple, but did Diana really need shoes to over state her. No. She was the statement, if there was one to make.
"They look wonderful if you ask me… Then again I'm not exactly walking down any catwalks… Well, least not on purpose… I guess superheroes are in season."
Sincerely Roy commented as his eyes looked upon her tennis shoes, they were perfect for running in and unlike some of his shoes, were hole free. Thats how he liked his shoes, worn in. Ok, thats not entirely true, he wasn't really that hung up on shoes… He was never really trying to be fashion forward, he just rocked what he rocked. No catwalks, unlike Kory… Although as Roy paused before referencing, crashing runway shows as Arsenal. It shouldn't be surprising that the fashion world, would have the occasional nut job or some nut job wanting to bring it crashing down. Half painting the image of Roy and Dick walking down the catwalk. The applause for saving the day. As Roy lightly jested, flashing a playfully look and smile. It simmered a little as Diana then asked if Roy was headed anywhere, if she could walk with him? Talk with him? Ok, perhaps it was a natural reflex as the lump came to his throat… There was a lot that could be said and that a meant a lot could be avoided. He was game and somewhat nervous. He hadn't exactly ridden the straight and narrow.
"No, no shopping… Although I do love, Target… I wasn't really on my way to anywhere, just on a break from rehearsing with my band… Random place, but it was cheap… You can come in if you like or maybe grab a quick drink… There's a coffee joint just down there… I think we probably be safer if your friend doesn't find us, I've been hit with bags and countless shoes… You'd think I'd be numb to it… Suppose your friend couldn't forgive you for ditching shoes, for me….? I'd probably offer a little more than comfortable feet."
As simple as Roy could clarify it teasingly. No shoes, no clothes. No shopping. As he sarcastically mentioned loving Target. For the lame and obvious reasons… Before more seriously saying, he really wasn't going anywhere as his hand gestured to the building they were standing close to, where he was rehearsing with his band. Random, but Roy had played in far more random and rundown places. Any place could be a good place to play. Happily offered Diana to come in, chat… Possibly meet his guitar. Really shouldn't be a surprised he almost felt naked if his hands weren't on strings… Though he certainly had the time to walk somewhere… Get a drink, he was certainly up for, if Diana was… If she had the time, of course. Even if it was drinks to takeaway, maybe a few little minutes, was better than no minutes… Roy nodded with a smile in return as Diana mentioned they would be safe, he couldn't help play they'd probably be safe if her friend didn't catch them. Not that he was being completely serious, as he didn't know the friend personally, he was mainly guessing from past experiences… Leaping, yeah Roy could leap. Before Roy smiled with a little touch of his cheeky nature, that perhaps her friend could forgive her, as he playfully played himself up… Surely he was better than shoes, at the very least, as he offered a slightly more charming playful grin…

Diana's eyes widened as she joined Roy in looking down at her shoes and then back up to him. "Are you sure that we're talking about the same shoes? If we are then I need to introduce you to Julia. She would educate you on how if it doesn't have heels, it's not cute. Did you know that shoes sparkle? That's apparently very important," she seemed to sound just as confused at the start of her sentence at the end of it. The whole thing confused her, the shoes. Even his reference was a little obscure. She didn't know that catwalking was important for shoes. Why did cat's walking have anything to do with shoes?
Diana moved on though, to the walking and talking. He mentioned Targets then. How did Archery tie into all of this?
"I'd be glad to come in for a few minutes," she nodded as she indicated toward the door he said that he was practicing behind. "After you," she said. She wasn't a big fan of the ladies first thing.
