It was a rare opportunity when the redheaded heroine got the opportunity to enjoy the little things. Deciding that it would be a much needed dose of stress relief to enjoy a day away from the library and spend it exploring the city she called home, the perky teenager started through the streets with a smile on her face. It wasn’t too often that she took some time to herself, and it was almost unusual for her to walk through the streets without a cause for once. A good portion of her day went to window shopping and she stopped at various little refreshment stands to sample some kind of cart food that Gotham had to offer.
Holding her bag to her closely, she took a trip to the park and walked around with no purpose. The summer breeze blew through her long, red hair and the commissioner’s only daughter smiled as she came upon a fresh flower garden that she hadn’t noticed before. The fresh aromas and fragrances that each blossom emitted were refreshing, though the sun was starting to set. The city sky was a mix of orange and purples, signaling that in a matter of hours the moon and starts would replace the pretty pallet of colors.
As she started home, she noticed something horribly wrong. The bag that she had on her arm previously was no longer there. Her eyes grew wide with fear, the realization of how severe this situation only seemed to increase by the second. Not only did a great deal of her personal belongs reside in the bag, but one of the most personal of all – her Batgirl suit. Heart racing and palms sweating, the young redhead hurried to retrace her steps, knowing that if she didn’t find the misplaced bag her carelessness could lead to some drastic consequences.
Trying to calm herself as she started frantically toward the last place she had been, Babs ran her hand through her long, red waves. It had to be around here somewhere – then again, she barely remembered setting it down. After all, the crime in Gotham city was substantial and she was not new to the cities thieving ways.

"Barbara, is that you?" a familiar voice as she walked through the park, looking around. The Commissioner was talking to two uniformed officers, who were making out a quick report. They all held hot dogs, sold by the nearby vendor. A good number of people were walking around, Gordon was smiling a bit as he waved to Barbara.
Officer Barbosa and Martin looked between the doting father and the wandering daughter and rolled their eyes a bit, eating their hot dogs. Gordon smiled as he said "I was just telling officer Barbosa and Martin about when I used to walk the beat out here, and how I used to go to this very hot dog stand every day for lunch. I used to just stand around here and meet my arrest quota for the day here, that's back when we had quotas. I'd just stand there and people would usually do something arrest worthy, that was back when there were more gangs in the area. There used to be all sorts of crime in this park. There still is. . . one time I had some young dealer try to sell me LSD right over there. I was even in uniform at the time." he shook his head "Have I told you that story before? Or about the hot dogs? Wait, what are you doing here? I thought you had class today. . ."

It was hard for the young woman who was typically very collected to hide the panic in her face. She ran her hand through her long, wavy hair. Swearing lightly under her breath her blue eyes scanned the park. While she had started out retracing her steps, she was now just looking throughout the entirety of it. The severity of the situation was only increasing with each passing moment that her bag remained missing. Not only would she have to obtain a new suit if it stayed separated from her. However, she could not simply discard it. It was a part of her – not to mention the other components of the bag were sure to give her away instantly.
The moment her father’s voice reached her ears, it was already too late to pretend that she hadn’t heard him. The red-headed beauty turned around and forged a quick smile. The flaws in the situation had quickly multiplied with the presence of her father and the addition of the other officers. Escaping a conversation would prove to be impossible and both rude. Despite her limited time and nerves, she started toward the trio enjoying their lunch, knowing she had no other choice.
“Dad, oh hey! What are you doing here?” Oh, did she have to ask? The moment the question left her lips he was sure to reply with a long-winded story reflecting on the glory days. She adored her father more than anyone in the world – in fact, she practically idolized him. But this was not a good time.
“I think you might have mentioned it once or twice.” She said with a bit of a chuckle, desperately attempting to conceal her nerves around officers that were trained to protect it. “Class let out early.” Babs was quick to confirm. “I was going to go brush up on a bit of light reading by the fountain. But I seemed to have misplaced my bag.”
