High school had never been a high point in Edward Nigma’s life, so it was odd that he would ever reenter one. He walked in with a clean cut black suit and a dark green tie. He looked far too professional compared to the messy teachers around him. They all had on ugly sweaters and kakis, a sign they all had basically given up on their lives. It was a prime example why stupidity continued to breed like the black plague. It started from poor schooling. Now, Edward didn’t wake up one day and decide he was going to give teaching a chance. He had far large lessons to teach this city that couldn’t be contained for a mere school. However, this was the top private school in Gotham, the most expensive and small school in the city and likely in the entire state. It was the very school Batman’s new little Robin went to.
He had taken on a substitute teaching position for the week. A week was all he needed to require the information he was after. Of course, the administrators had been impressed by his knowledge of Literature, which the position was for. If they had taken more time to discuss other topics with him, they would have realized that Edward was knowledgeable in all topics, but why attempt to surpass their mouse like brains. They could only handle so much in a small period of time.
He arrived on school at the appropriate time and went the classroom he would be teaching in for the week. No one recognized Edward when he was out of costume. He appeared to blend into the crowd, except for his expensive suit. He ignored the brat kids, running in the halls, gossiping against their lockers, and yammering about nonsense like the latest X-Men movie. Oh kids these days. The future had no hope. He went into the classroom and up to the desk. He opened up the folder the teacher had supplied with the week’s lesson plans for each class. It only took him a few moments to look over and have memorized. It was quite dull, and hardly provided a challenge. If he was going to waste his time teaching, he certainly would not be following something so unproductive.
The bell rang and student’s started to fill the classroom. He would have three classes then lunch. At lunch, he could get the information he needed. Until then…he would try to educate them small minded children.
“Hello class, call me Joseph because I have no interest in wasting my time with names,” he stated flatly, looking around the class.
