BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Stephanie slammed her hand onto the snooze button on her alarm clock. She laid under the cover for a few more minutes, enveloped in the warmth.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Stephanie sighed turned her alarm clock off. She pulled off her covers. She shivered as she stepped up off her bed, her mother liked keeping the AC on low, and a blue short-sleeve t-shirt and purple pajama shorts were not going to keep her warm. Stephanie grabbed a blanket off her bed and wrapped herself in it. She was already in a bad mood, accidently leaving her alarm on on a summer morning, the cold air, it was enough to make anyone cranky. There was only one thing that was going to fix this problem. And that thing was waffles.
Her mother was still asleep, so she wouldn't object to her making waffles. Stephanie walked down the stairs and gathered her ingredients. Eggs, milk, flour, baking soda, and the secret ingredient. Sugar. It was a family recipe, and though it didn't seem like it would, the few tablespoons of sugar made a big difference. Stephanie plugged in her waffle iron to warm up and began mixing the ingredients. She finished mixing and was about to pour the batter into the iron when a knock came to the door. Stephanie rolled her eyes and sighed. It doesn't matter who this was, whether it was a homeless person or the president, whoever it was was getting in the way of her waffles. Stephanie still walked over to the door however. She reluctantly pulled it open.
"Hello?"
