Rain poured hard and thundered in the distance. There was a certain billionaire sitting outside his balcony, alone. Letting the rain drops hit the top of his head and soaked his clothes. He sat in his seat, hands together rested comfortably on his lap, and legs extended out. The view of small drops of water hitting the world below him was a relaxing sight. Memories of the island, and the one thing that kept his mind of killing and dying, a relaxing storm.
Unraveling his hands he had a picture of Dinah and him posing in front of the flower shop her mom owned. Oliver gripped it at opposite ends, and ripped the picture to pieces. He held all the pieces in his one hand then let the wind blow them off and over the balcony, into the city. The decision was made and its final.
Oliver hadn't seen Eve in 2 days. They had an eruption of tension resulting in them sleeping together, and both left in a very emotional state. Oliver had intentionally requested that Eve not be around for a few days so he could think about what happened between them. Foolish he was not, the main thing on his mind was his alternate persona of the Green Arrow. Eve was sworn to hunt him down and kill him, but did not realize Oliver and Green Arrow were one in the same. He felt she should know, but had no way to tell her. Would she accept him for who he was? Or would she take him in for all the several charges he faced? Maybe the timing wasn't right and he was jumping ahead of himself. Oliver took out his phone and swiped it open. Neither Eve nor him realized that he had accidentally hit the audio record button while they were talking at the grave yard. Played her words over and over again on repeat.
Behind him outside the door, a man from Eve's team stood there looking at him. He opted not to stand out in the rain, so he stood indoors watching Oliver like a hawk, just in case. Eve should be on her way up to relieve him any minute now...

The rain matched the mood Eve Avery was in that morning, and the thunder was symbolic of the anger and frustration she was feeling inside herself. It had been two days since she and Oliver Queen had been together. At his request, she had not been allowed to report for her shift at his townhouse or have any contact with him whatsoever. Eve had been down this road before, and so the familiarity of the situation was depressing her. In the past, those relationships hadn’t ended well, and she was expecting the same to happen with this one.
When she got to the townhouse, Eve found Sully waiting for her on the front stoop. “What’s going on?” she asked, wondering if he was going to tell her to leave the premises. “What are you doing out here? Is everything okay?”
“No, everything’s not okay,” Sully replied with a heavy sigh. “Mr. Queen’s been in a funk for the past two days. He’s been a recluse ever since he returned from Star City. What the heck happened there? He’s so melancholy.”
Eve didn’t answer that question. “Where is he now?”
“He’s upstairs with Diego,” Sully informed her. “I called Diego to come over and try to talk to him. He had as much luck as I did. Maybe you can get through Mr. Queen’s defenses. He's totally shut down.”
Eve bristled. She had crossed a line with Oliver in Star City and had stayed there. She wondered if Oliver had retreated back to the other side. Had their time together been a moment of weakness for him? Did he regret it now and never wanted to see her again? It was time for Eve to face the music and find out.
“I’ll do my best, but no guarantees,” she said, patting Sully on the shoulder as she passed by him and entered the house.
Upstairs, Diego was still standing in the doorway to the bedroom balcony. When he heard someone coming up the stairs, he looked over his shoulder and greeted Eve with a smile. “Good morning,” he whispered, turning and giving her a hug after she entered the room. “Oliver's taking a ‘shower’.”
Eve shook her head when she saw Oliver drenched and sitting outside in the storm. “Can you give me a few minutes alone with him?” she asked Diego, who simply nodded in reply and went downstairs.
For a moment, Eve took Diego’s place standing and watching in the doorway. When she couldn't take it any longer, she pulled out an umbrella from her purse and opened it. “What is it with you and rainstorms, Mr. Queen?” she laughed sarcastically to announce herself. With a smile, she joined him on the balcony and held the umbrella over them both. “You’re soaked to the bone again, I see. It’s a good thing I’m here, isn’t it?”

Oliver was trapped in his own little world, pondering all the problems he faced. One with so much money really should not have these kind of problems, most would think. Then like a lightning bolt, Eve's voice sounded off. He had been so stuck in thought that he didnt even hear the door open. Her first words were asking about the rain storms
"Well, if im being honest, I learned how relaxing the rain was when I was stuck on the island for 5 years. I think of it as.. Little drops of therapy."
He stood up and turned around to face her.
She then made the comment that it was a good thing she was there. She had no idea.
"Yes.. It is a good thing you're here. In fact, that's what ive been spending the past few days thinking about. What happened.. It wasn't a mistake. Not for either one of us. You suddenly came into my life out of literally nowhere. Just showing up at my door step, saying you were here to protect me. You see, I had just lost a serious girlfriend of 4 years about 6 months ago... It was at a party I was throwing.. I was taking a friend upstairs to look at some world war 2 items I had been collecting. He had to go to the bathroom, and I suppose a woman had followed us up there. She tried to come on to me aggressively, and then my girlfriend at the time walked in. I didn't do anything, and it really wasnt my fault.. But she just wouldnt hear it, and left..."
Oliver wrapped his soaked arms around Eve in a hug and kissed her lightly.
"So many nights I spent asking for relief to this nightmare... You didnt come here to protect me, you came here to save me.. Like a guardian angel"
He looked off into the distance and saw Slade Wilson leaning against his counter. Oliver closed his eyes tightly. It was a hallucination, a result of his PTSD. Upon reopening his eyes, the apparition had disappeared. There were so many demons, and everyday they got stronger. It was only a matter of time before they got too strong for him to defeat anymore. He could not let anything ever happen to Eve
"Theres a lot I want to tell you... "
He whispered into her ear
