Gotham city was in need of a good boost of Joy and Starfire was just the tamaranean princess to deliver it to the people. With the help of some very special children from the orphanage, Starfire had arrived bright, but not too early to the park to set up on the saturday. Thats right, a day for people to be out, about and hopefully enjoying the coming warm day. From the weather forecast it would be sunny all day.. Starfire picked a nice grassy area to set up, wouldn't take too much of the park, just enough and left a lot of space to run around. Play games. Firstly Starfire set up the free cotton candy and free lemonade stand. With a little help from Roy and Dick, to get a generous bunch of water balloons set up. There was no telling how many would be needed, so Starfire said as many as possible. With a few other fun things, there was little else left save the donation jars. Placed poised on the stand, any donations made would of course go to the orphanage. Let Gotham decide what joy was worth, just the fun and games alone were hopefully at least gonna put some smiles on some innocent faces. That was winning all in itself. As generous little hands aided her in stirring the lemonade and pouring the sugar in her cotton candy machine, she really liked putting it to good use. Before watching it do its magical spin with the bright colours.
"Free Cotton Candy! Free Lemonade!"
Called Starfire, in a rather kind, yet with enough volume to hopefully attract some interest and by the looks of some approaching faces, there was definitely a little interest. Perhaps a little cautious as they approached the tamaranean. There was little need for the sunglasses today, she was the hero. The symbol of hope, at least for some. Leaving her suit behind or possibly close by. Starfire wore a white dress, came just above her knees, nice little lace detailing about her shoulders and nicely tugged in by a sash about her waist. Her golden legs were met with beige toned sandals. No other accessories. Keeping it simple. Her hair was kept out of her face by two braids, leaving the rest to tousle down and around in fiery red curls. Starfire met the first few people with her kind, sweet smile and soon handed out a couple of free cotton candy. A lemonade here and there.
"And what would you like?"
Starfire asked in due kindness as a young girl approached. Seemingly in search for something sweet, aren't we all? As Starfire's smile grew a little more as the girl shyly pointed to the cotton candy.
"Certainly, what's your favourite colour?"
"Purple… Please!" The girl chimed in!
"Wonderful choice!"
Starfire complimented, with a sweet wink and a smile. Being her favourite colour, there was definitely no shortage of purple. As Cassie, one of the girls from the orphanage helping, handed Starfire some of the purple. Starfire popped it in her machine and began working its magic. With a little wooden stick in hand, it soon twirled around…. As it twirled Starfire felt the young eyes on her, sense the innocent curiosity, before hearing the young girl maybe not even 7 speak up.. "Are you're eyes real?" Came the innocent question. Starfire took no offence, she was rather used to being asked that question and she very much enjoyed children generally spoke their minds. Starfire responded with a delightful yes with a smile and nod. "There beautiful" The young girl then added sweet. Causing Kory to beam that little more from such a compliment.
"Thank-you, you have beautiful eyes, too. Here you go… What is your name?"
With kind gratitudes in response, Starfire sweetly handed over the fluffy purple ball made of candy. Catching a even better glimpse of the young girl's big brown eyes. Before Starfire kindly asked the girl's name… "Abby" The little voice spoke up, as the little hand took her cotton candy with a smile.
"Its was a pleasure to meet you, Abby.. I sure hope you stick around, and join in on some of the fun activities… Hey Roy… How did you go?"
Starfire smiled in response, she would remember that name. That innocent face. Before Abby turned to go back to mother, Starfire hoped to encourage to join in some of the fun. The games. Even simply to take a small moment and laugh. Smile. Hmmm, she was pretty sure she just caught a smiled as Abby gave a small wave and turned. Enjoying the free cotton candy… As Roy shortly approached the stand, a little rest for ware, oh he wasn't that beat down. What was a few hundred balloons?
"Hey Star… Well, I don't think you're gonna have to worry about running out… If you don't need me, I'm gonna go set up."
"X'hal, very nice, thank-you again. It really saved some time… Sure no problem, Roy… Where's Dick?"
Roy certainly wasn't exaggerating as Starfire motioned a glance not to far in the near distance of lump sum of water balloons. She knew she could count on the two boys, lending the hand… Thanking Roy with the broadening of her bright grin. It truly meant a lot and hopefully would be going a long way. Kory nodded when Roy wanted to set up, get down and play a little music on his guitar. Least for a little while… Though she asked Roy just before he turned, as she didn't see Dick. Briefly looking around. Getting that tingling feeling, that something called.
"Oh yeah, he had to go. Fix his hero hair or something along those lines… Not sure if he'll be back."
Oh! Starfire looked simple in response, her eyes glimpse a little off in the distance, but shared a simple smile. Something always got him busy. Sure she was hoping he'd be here, but it was no harm. Starfire would carry as Roy left, she motioned back to the cotton candy machine. Just when she was feeling the brush of a little disappointment, there came a buzz from her phone on the table. Checking to find Dick had sent her a text, wishing her luck. It made her smile and warmed her heart. If there was ever a feeling she was crazy to do this, totally went out the window. Little could really stop her from following her heart and her hope to put smiles on peoples faces. 'Thanks, kisses' Starfire zoomed the text back to Dick. If he didn't come back, she be sure to catch him back at home, with so much to tell him. To fill him on… Seemed there might be quite a lot. As Starfire noted as more people entered the park. Hopefully if not freaked out, they would be welcomed to come join the fun. Despite the alien a little front and centre at the stand… As the next figure approached. Starfire greeted them with her kind smile and warm bubbly strong personality.
"Greetings. Would you care for some free cotton candy? Or lemonade."
