Jervis sighed heavily as he felt his nerves beginning to get to him. He hated Arkham and more so hated therapy sessions within the oppressing walls of the Asylum, but he was required to make an appearance to review his progress in the rehabilitation program and to determine of he should or is capable of remaining in the public. In his own mind, Jervis believed he was doing well, all things considered.
He had been sitting alone in the rather dull office for a few minutes now, he had dressed in what considered 'casual', his black and white checker pants, his green button up shirt, his black vest and his fine velvet gloves. The gloves, as anyone would know,w ere partly due to his OCD and inability to touch things that were not clean in his mind.
He wasn't exactly sure what to expect. he pondered on this for a moment while waiting, Was he going to be tricked into saying something? Was Arkham just waiting to have him back? Was he dressed well enough? All this went buzzing through his head and made him nervous, he began to kick his leg slightly.

Though Mr. Tetch may be nervous about their upcoming session, Iris certainly isn't. Partly because the last word on the man indicated that he was doing extremely well, and partly because she certainly isn't a small blonde woman. And though she's never met him before, according to his file that would be the main case of worry. You never get complacent or put your full trust in the file around here, but you also don't assume that anyone's going to suddenly behave wildly different from their usual. Well, unless such random behavior is their usual.
When she reaches the room where he's waiting, she puts on one of her friendly smiles as she says, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Tetch - I'm Dr. Iris Ledford." She offers him a hand for shaking, if he'd like to do so. Though he's probably just as familiar with the facility as she is, for her it's a workplace and for him it's probably full of too many bad memories to be completely comfortable with this visit - she'll not blame him for not enjoying this simply because any sane person is likely to feel that way too if they've been a patient here before.
But in an effort to put him more at ease, she starts with a perfectly normal question as she takes her seat, "So, how have you been?" There will be plenty of more pointed questions in a moment, but it's better to work up to those and hopefully make it more like a normal conversation than an interview.

"How have I been?" he repeated, his nerves making him seem a bit slow at the moment. he starred at her offered hand for a moment then just gave a weak smile, He then shook himself mentally and tried to speak in a more confident voice," I am doing well, I suppose..I mean I haven't had any troubles as of late.. though I have heard that things in Gotham aren't so pleasant lately..."

Unbothered by his neglect of her hand, Iris simply lets it fall again, and her head tilts curiously at his answer to her question. "What do you mean by that?" she asks politely, adding, "To be sure, Gotham always has its troubles, though I haven't heard of anything especially unpleasant happening lately. Unless something has happened that I don't know about?" Though of course it could simply be something that has affected him and not her, or perhaps it's something she does know about but didn't reguard at unusually terrible. Either way, the answer could easily have some significance.

"S...s..something?" He repeated, Jervis then felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise up as he shifted in his seat. There had not been much going on with him, well aside from his nightmares and..foggy.. moments. Jervis inhaled deeply and paused for a moment as he tried to reset his mind and also ease his nerves," I haven't been well as of late, I mean..Nightmares..n..n..nothing serious..."

"Oh, I see," Iris says with a nod, as she casually picks up her notepad and makes a brief note - only one word, actually. She always tries to be extremely conservative with her note-taking, as she knows that even she would be a bit disturbed if she was talking to someone and they suddenly seemed to feel the need to write too much down about what she just said. Unfortunately, she just doesn't have the memory to avoid it completely, which would be ideal, but at least she can make it as short as possible. Especially since any real analysis on her part shouldn't be taking place while she's talking to him anyway.
"What kind of nightmares?" she asks now, though it sounds merely like a curiosity question. Which is mostly is, actually - some therapists read far too much into the content of dreams, but she's not one of them. While it can provide a small window into the state of someone's mind, it's not as if the details can be easily interpreted and there's no use in trying. She's had enough of her own bizarre, nonsensical dreams to know that they're not necessarily a sign of something being wrong with a person.
