“You are completely trashed! Let me out of the car now!” Piper bellowed, clutching onto whatever surface she could to stable herself while the sports car served. “Please! Please! Look I’m not going to say anything; I just can’t get into any more trouble.” Having only been picked up a less than twenty minutes ago, she was beginning to reconsider the texts that the driver had sent her a matter of minutes before arriving. Now that she thought about it, he had been suspiciously misspelling a great deal of his words and most of the generic messages weren’t making any sense. Somehow, she managed to determine when he was outside the Mayor’s manor by the screeching of tires and series of vibrations issuing from the subs
Getting in the car in the first place was a complete mistake. But with his dark sunglasses and persistent goofy expression, it hadn’t taken much convincing before Piper climbed into the vehicle with him. He was an artist who asked Piper to accompany him to his show that evening. However, he had already sped past the art museum and started excelling over the speed limit. Looking out the window, everything was a blur and the blonde couldn’t tell where they were. Swerving yet again, he attempted to lean into Piper as he rounded the corner, missing her face and leaving a sloppy kiss on her shoulder. Absolutely disgusted at this point, she might have shoved him if he weren’t operating a vehicle.
“You are a pig! Pull over now!” She screamed at the top of her lungs, finally getting the reaction that she had wanted. The car came to a sudden stop, and Piper dramatically threw off her seat belt and pushed the door open. “Fine! Have fun walking home, bitch!” He shouted, his words slurring as Piper climbed out of the car. The blonde began to walk down the length of the road, looking for signs of where she might be so she could have someone pick her up. Unfamiliar with any of her surroundings, she reached in her clutch to find her phone, only to realize it wasn’t there. “Fuck, no way.” She checked the contents of her bag several times, but it was nowhere to be found.
The car had been following her for a few moments, but suddenly pulled ahead of her, speeding down the stretch of road and abandoning her on the side of the street. With no form of communication whatsoever, she threw her designer bag on the ground in a brief tantrum. She had no idea where she was and now she was forced to walk home – wherever home was.
Unfamiliar with everything around her, she finally picked up her clutch bag from the ground and began to walk in the direction that she assumed they came from. The area consisted of a majority of shops – most of them closed or shut down for good. A car would pass by randomly, but this side of the city neglected the typical spirit that the rest of Gotham possessed. Was she even in Gotham? She let out an annoyed sigh, running her fingers through her blonde hair as she walked in her stilettoes. How did you hitchhike? Stick your thumb in the air? Or was it a combination of fingers. Might as well give it a try.

Standing on one of the roof tops that was above the streets, Catman’s eyes scanned the area. He didn’t like this part. Being a hero meant you sat around waiting for something to happen. He could smell the scents of misery, well not really, but he could imagine that’s what it was. He heard a car down below, going a bit irradiate in this part of town wasn’t anything new, but he was dressed for action. And he was itching for something to do. When a girl was shoved out of it and left stranded down on the road he wondered if he should but in. It wasn’t like him to get involved with other people’s problems. But then again there were all sorts of bad folks out there and Thomas was trying to figure himself out. His body tensed for a moment as she wandered closer to a crack den he had spotted earlier. The police presence was lacking in this place to put it nicely. It was almost as if they didn’t care what happened here anymore. Years ago when Thomas was a young boy, Park Row and the surrounding East end had promise. But then the unthinkable happened. Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down and this place became a wasteland. He knew it wasn’t completely abandoned, but no single person could do everything in this area. He followed after the girl a few feet then silently jumped from the roof and used his cape to slow and silence his decent. He walked up behind her and cleared his throat as he didn’t want to startle her too badly. “You look like you’re lost, Miss…Do you need someone to help you?” He felt nervous. He’d never done this before. He wasn’t certain how she would react, or how he would react in kind. He just stood there, offering his least creepy smile behind his ginger stubble and waited for her to either scream and attack him, or scream and run. Either way, he really was trying to do the right thing here, right? Costume: Catman

Piper whimpered loudly as she hugged her slender frame. With the limited material her dress provided, it nowhere near shielded her sun kissed skin from the harsh winds. The blonde’s teeth chattered for a moment as she rummaged through her clutch for something that might assist her, though only her wallet, a cluster of various credit cards and make-up only consisted in its sleek contents. Shivering, she continued to walk, almost wishing she might have taken her chances with her impaired driver.
She heard a noise from behind her and whirled around, her blue eyes wide as she thrust her purse at the figure behind her. Assuming that she was being robbed, Piper was quick to back away. “Look, just take my purse; I don’t have anything else on me. I mean really, look how tight my dress is. There is no way I am hid-wait what?” She looked quizzically at the man before her, adorned in an orange suit that hugged his muscular frame. “Lord, you are like an orange Batman, aren’t you?” She released a sigh from her lips knowing that he simply was seeking to help her rather than steal her. Not bothering to apologize for throwing her clutch forcefully at him or her little ‘Batman’ comment, she quickly took him up on his offer.
“Oh my god yes. Can you give me a ride home? My daddy can pay you whatever. Where’s your car?” Piper obnoxiously insisted, looking over his shoulder hoping to spot where his vehicle might be. Piper didn’t exactly take the time to think her words – or actions for that matter – through all the way. The blonde had no idea who the man before her was, or did she exactly care. Instead, the spoiled young heiress just assumed that he was going to go out of his way to assist her. After all, didn’t everyone?

Tom stepped back slightly as she reacted to his voice. Had it really been that long since he spoken to another person? Did he really forget how to interact with people? Probably. Animals were so much easier. And she smelled like a party. A crazy party. Like the ones he used to keep himself occupied with before he found another outlet. One less illegal, but much less fun. He realized something about himself just then. Perhaps he was an adrenaline junkie?
He crossed his arms over his broad orange chest and narrowed his green eyes down to her and shook his head. “No…Miss.” He gave her his friendliest smile, which seemed more menacing and creepy to others than he realized. He probably took Huntress for granted since during their first meeting, she was more aggressive that he was. And here he was now, trying to make himself better. He let out a sigh and took his cape off, leaving the cowl over his face and offered it to her. “I’m actually Catman…” He paused and lifted his hand to stop the anticipated next question or statement. “No…I’m not related to Catwoman.”
He was inundated by more words from her and was suddenly missing the silence of the savannahs. She nodded slowly and then scratched the back of his neck, revealing more of his muscular form in the tight Kevlar weave. “I’m not exactly doing this for the money, Miss. But…I can help you find your way home…” He looked around, up and down the street. There were a few vehicles he could snag. And in the theater of his mind a little Huntress appeared on on his shoulder in the white told him it was a bad idea. He was about to admit he didn’t have a vehicle, well he did, but the Catmobile was in another part of East End. And then another little Huntress appeared in on his other should, who wore much less and it was all black, told him that being a bad boy got her motor revved up. He swallowed a lump and shook his head. He should probably see a therapist about this sort of thing. “I..uhh…” His Catmobile was his only chance and no matter what the tiny sexy Huntress told him, he had to go straight. “Yea…It’s up the street a ways…c’mon.” He nudged his thumb behind him and calmly placed his hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry. I’m not going to let anyone hurt you.” He offered another smile, trying to be as friendly as he could be. He was a good looking man, he should really try to play that up.
He looked over her outfit, trying to be as non-perv while doing so. She was not dressed to be on the streets. Well, not in the manner that she was. She should be lucky no one had approached her about prices. He had to look for a closer vehicle as she wasn't wearing shoes that were made for walking and she seemed like she could be a complainer. He stepped ahead of her a bit, seeing a blue GTO sitting there like a god send. He turned and held up his hand signalling her to wait. "Just wait here a second."

Miss? Piper nearly died laughing. “Miss? You are so cute. My staff doesn’t even call me that anymore.” In fact, most of the home staff for the mayor’s manor despised the young blonde altogether. They would simply grit their teeth and meet their demands for the sake of keeping her job, though the numbers of those employed still continued to dwindle throughout the years. Including gardeners and personal chefs, Piper could safely say there was less than a dozen who now worked for her father when it came to maintaining their household. After her mother passed, it wasn’t like Piper was going to step up to the responsibilities of being a homemaker. While she was a great hostess, she certainly was not housewife material.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you Catman…and that was actually my next question! Wow, so do you have powers? Like, can you read my mind? Oh, I’m Piper Hill by the way, you can call me whatever though, just no more of this ‘Miss’ business. I get it; you are one of the good guys.” She smiled as he handed her his cape, sending a playful wink up at him. “Well it’s not really my color….but thank you. It’s freezing and I am pretty sure my phone is in the pocket of my leather jacket…which I stupidly left in that douchebags car.” Her smile wavered and was quickly replaced by a look of annoyance at the recollection of the intoxicated artist. She accepted the cape and draped it over her shoulders, the material practically engulfing her. “Oh my god, can you fly? That would be so cool if you flew me home.”
His offer to help was not far from what Piper was used to. In fact, she was always very fortunate when it came to getting any type of assistance she needed. While her attitude was typically a turn off, her looks manage to help her quite a bit in that department. “Oh thanks! What kind of car do you drive?” She asked, simply to keep the conversation alive rather than letting it wither away like she typically did. “Well that’s good to know, but I mean – I don’t really think anyone would want to hurt me to begin with.” She said almost arrogantly. Piper felt as though she ran this city, her age, money and overall influence making her feel almost invincible. “Do you know where we are? Is this even Gotham still?” The blonde asked cluelessly, looking around as she walked alongside him in the darkness. With a pout, she silently obeyed as he signaled for her to wait. God she hated waiting.

Cute? He smirked a little at her. He wasn’t attempting to be cute, he was really only trying to be polite. Even if his father had taught him that women were merely objects to be used, and Thomas himself used to believe this way, he was making up for his past sins, really. She was getting excited over things and he couldn’t help but smile and chuckle inwardly about them. Powers? Sure he had powers. The power to make a woman swoon at the sound of his voice, well that was really just in his imagination. Huntress had once commented that his abs had the power to distract passing women, but that was really just rude to pull his shirt off right now. It may also send a very wrong message. But if there was a day were no consequences mattered, he figured he’d give that theory a whirl.
But back in reality, he waited to ensure she was finished talking as he tested the door of the vehicle he had set his sights on. The blue GTO had some rust spots, and not entirely all that roomy in his opinion. It needed some work on it for sure, but it should get them to where they needed to go. Not glamorous, but she wasn’t going to make the trek back to the Cat-Mobile without a bit of complaining. He really needed to change the name. The Predator? No. But something has to give. “No, nothing like that, just an ability to be very good at tracking people down. And if you want, I could call you by your name if I knew it?” He was of course acknowledging her teasing him about referring to her as ‘Miss’. The car door gave and opened to him as he spoke. It was impossible to keep the look of shock off of his face, but when he reached up in the visor and found keys sitting there, well if felt like that was just Christmas. Okay, yes, stealing a car is still illegal if you do it for a good reason, but he had plans to bring it back, full tank of gas and everything.
“You’re in the East End. So yea, you’re in Gotham, just not the friendliest part. Hence why we should get you out of here very soon.” He slid into the driver’s seat and was hesitant to rev the engine for fear it wouldn’t start. That would be just embarrassing. Being a hero and the car doesn’t start. He was certain Batman didn’t have to deal with this. He placed the key into the ignition and with his good fortune it started. It sounded as if it needed a tune up, but it should get them to where they needed to go. “This kind of car.” He spoke with a bit of smirk, before pulling up to her and as he looked over to her, waiting for her to slip in to the passenger side. “So, where am I dropping you off?” He had to admit, he really had no idea who he was talking to, but that was sort of the point, doing good for the sake of it.

She couldn’t wait to return to the comfort of the manor. This evening she had actually tried to represent herself positively amongst the rest of Gotham Elite. Hoping to possibly redeem somewhat of her name by showing up on the arm of a familiar male artist and compose herself for an entire evening in the museum, her dreams quickly came crashing the moment he had attempted to drive her heavily intoxicated to the venue. Piper didn’t even consider him more than a friend, though most of her male friends often took her affection the wrong way. Despite how selfish she was, when there was someone she considered close she was sure to spoil them endlessly. This particular friend took advantage of her rare generosity. Regardless of how unpleased the situation had ended, things certainly seemed to be looking up for her now.
She blinked when she spotted his vehicle, clearly not up to her standards – but the blonde bit her tongue from making a comment. After all, he was helping her out of a very tricky situation that most others in this area wouldn’t even consider. “Blue, huh. Is it bad that I was expecting it to be orange?” She suppressed a smile as he informed her he had no idea who she was. Silently surprised that she was not instantly recognized, the vain little blonde smirked for a moment. If he didn’t know who she was, maybe this was like a fresh new start. Then again, it didn’t really occur to her that maybe he just didn’t recognize her – she really didn’t take the time to think things through obviously.
“Shit, I didn’t tell you? Sorry, my name is Piper umm Hill.” The perky blonde flashed him a white smile. “So you mean tracking like…hunting people? I mean if you are in to that kind of thing.” The young heiress shrugged, listening as he informed her where they were, though her eyes scanned their surroundings. “I have lived in this city all my life and I don’t even think I have ever been to this side of town before. Why does it all look so dead?” Piper opened the door, relieved that no one was around to see her slip into such a vehicle. However, she knew she couldn’t be picky when only moments ago she was forced to walk home. “I live in Richland Manor, the little subdivision on the North side. You can just drop me off at home” Little was surely an understatement.

He grinned slightly as she referred to the orange on his costume. “Well I have been thinking of a paint job.” Well this was at least good news, she wasn’t suspecting that he had stolen this vehicle, and he held onto the idea that his conscience would be cleared when he returned it. He drove a little bit and slammed on the brakes as she announced her name. He hadn’t been back in Gotham that long, but he was aware of who the mayor was. But Thomas only continued to drive a head, though he was curious what someone like her was doing in this area. “Alright then…” He shook head, starting form his own opinions of the reasons. He remembered when he was younger, and very bored with his life he would seek out danger. But Piper did not seem to be that type in his opinion.
He pressed his foot on the gas as they sped along. This car had a good engine. It liked to purr. Similar to another himself and another feline he knew. He smirked as they drove along, abandoned and disheveled buildings with the post-apocalyptic outline that seems to mark most of the East End. It had seen better days and those had long since passed. He approached a light and as it turned red, he slowed to a stop, and he looked over to her with a concerned eye and a tilt of his cowled head. He didn’t care much for the idea of hunting that most people conjured in their minds. He had hunted for food, but it was never for the sport of it like his father did. “I don’t really hunt. I track. I find people or animals that need to be found.” He didn’t want to reveal too much else of himself and then gunned it through the light once he realized that no one else was coming. “Now, what exactly were you doing in the East End? You don’t strike me as the type to go looking for trouble for the joy of it.”

She couldn’t help but grin at her own comment, stifling a giggle at his reply. “I mean, hey, the color works for you. If I had a body as fit as yours I would wear skin tight clothing every day too. Oh wait.” She did. Well, not particularly athletic as his, in fact, her slender frame was a result of various diets and somewhat drastic methods of keeping her frame. The modeling business could be very self-destructive and Piper’s limited confidence always seemed to get the best of her. It seemed the only gigs she was offered would be lingerie shoots to capture her curse of curse and ample chest. The consistency of her work was also starting to affect her head. Piper wanted to be so much more than a lingerie model, especially seeing as her more recent gigs seemed somewhat sketchy.
Trying to wipe the stuck-up look off of her face, she knew that she should be grateful. After all, if it wasn’t for this man she would still be stuck wandering the streets, looking incredibly out of place given her location. Despite being born and raised in Gotham, she could honestly say that she had never been on this side of town in her entire life. So while it didn’t exactly process to the young heiress how fortunate she was to encounter this hero rather than others.
“Really? Like who?” She asked curiously. Completely oblivious as to whom would needed to be found in Gotham. But based on his physic and hypnotizing eyes, she was sure he didn’t need help finding a female. Though he wasn’t exactly her type – well, gender, Piper still had to admit he was a good looking individual. A devilish smirk played on her glossed lips at his comment. Clearly, he didn’t know her. “Well, I was supposed to go to this showing at the art museum. I posed for one of the artists and he wanted me to accompany him to the opening of the exhibit, or whatever. I want to be a model, so I took him up on the gig because posing for art sounds pretty classy on a resume, right? But the greasy asshole reeked of whiskey the second I got into his car and didn’t understand the concept of keeping his hands to himself. So I made him pull over and let me out.” She recalled easily.

Tom felt a bit of guilt knot form in his stomach as Piper was talking to him about how the guy had treated her. He had been that guy once. Women were just a play thing to him. God, was he really that stupid? Yes. Yes he was, and he knew it all too well. He was young, and stupid and the worst man in the world. No, not the worst, his father, though dead was still the front runner in that race.
“I…uhhh…” He didn’t really know how to answer here at first. “Who? Umm…no one specific. Just whoever needs to be found I guess?” He was trying to step around the part about him being a cat-bugler because he was bored and spent more than his inheritance than he should have. But lives change, and he, like Selina, had nine of those to muck about in. Which meant he could spend time wallowing in his self-pity for a while longer before he decided what kind of man he wanted to be.
He titled his head for a moment, not certain why he’d offer this to anyone. Maybe it was this new leaf he was turning over, or maybe he understood how the girl felt. “I could drive you there…if it’s not too far off.” He offered a friendly smile, at least he hoped it looked friendly. He was a bit too much like a lion at times and had the teeth to prove it, so he hoped his pearly whites didn’t scare her off.

Piper couldn’t help but roll her eyes at his answer, somewhat annoyed that he hadn’t provided her nosy self with some kind of satisfying answer that could lead to some sort of conversation. “I mean, give me an example of someone, throw some names out there. I won’t tell.” She winked playfully in his direction with a pretty little pout that would get the blonde her way with most men.
She sighed when he offered to take her to the Art Gallery. As much as she was dressed to go and prepared for the events to progress of the evening, she was also incredibly irritated. Unwilling to run into the tool of an artist that had so rudely attempted to lay his hands on her in hopes of some kind of booze-fueled kiss; she honestly wasn’t sure what to do. “Nah, it’s okay. I should probably just go home. I don’t want to run into ass face. Can you take me home?” She asked, a frown forming on her lips as she sank down in the seats. “My daddy will be pleased…this is the earliest I have been home in weeks.” She commented as she glanced at the time.
The brightness of headlights behind them grabbed her attention as she turned around. “Wow, they are getting really close-“ She mentioned before she released the slicked-back hair style and drunken expression of the man behind the wheel of the car that was following so closely behind them. The car’s slick black exterior collided briefly with the back of her hero’s car. A scream fell from the blonde’s lips as her slender frame was shifted toward the front of the car, her head bouncing off the dash.
“Oh hell, That’s him! He’s following us!” She panicked, rubbing her throbbing forehead and hastily moving to put her seatbelt on having learned her lesson. “What the hell do we do?” She shrieked.

“Uhh…I…” He didn’t take his green eyes off the road, though he knew that inflection in a woman’s voice. It often used to irritate him, but not it seemed to throw him off guard. God, how could he stand up to a woman like Catwoman or Huntress if some little pretty blond could do so much damage to his psyche in one flirt? But thankfully, she changed the subject and with a sigh of relief he nodded understandingly and cleared his throat. “Well. The offer still…What the hell?” He squinted his eyes to adjust to the oncoming bright lights that were reflecting in his face. He snarled and tightened his grip along the steering wheel.
When Piper surmised who it was, Thomas’s brain didn’t have much time to react to the revelation as the idiot ass clown’s car nudged into his. Thomas let out a low throaty growl, likening himself further to his chosen theme as he pulled his shoulders up more. He looked back, and then around. He didn’t much ask if she was alright, but his eyes tried to make sure she wasn’t bleeding. He sped the car up and growled with the engine, getting ahead of the pursuing vehicle. “Hang on…” He warned, but maybe not giving her enough time. He then grabbed the emergency brake, yanking it up quickly while turning the steering wheel to force the car into a controlled spin. This would have been much easier in his car, but even though the GTO wasn’t built like a stunt car, it performed beautifully as they now faced down their pursuer. “C’mon, ass clown…” He snarled through bared teeth. Was he daring the drunken idiot to play chicken? No.
Thomas stepped out of the car. His hand motioned down to Piper to stay in there. She was safer there at least. It was a metal constructed vehicle. He strode out in front of the car. What the hell was he thinking? He didn’t know, but he walked forward a bit, slipping on the claws he used when he meant business in a fight. This kid really didn’t know what he was up against.

It was refreshing to meet a decent guy in a city with so few, and the young heiress would even admit that she did owe the masked man from sparing her a terrible fate. Rather than walking aimlessly around the poor side of Gotham City who had clearly seen much better days, he was quick to whisk her away back to the manor that she so reluctantly called home. She beamed at his brief discomfort to her comment, but she didn’t have long to be in such high spirits.
She knew that sleek car too well as it severed recklessly behind them, increasing dangerously in speed. After quickly securing herself in the seatbelt that she had formerly rejected, tears pooled into the blondes eyes. A simple stream slide down both of her cheeks, but she quickly wiped them away in fear of ruining her make-up. Pain blossomed and erupted throughout her forehead, causing her to groan in agony as she brought both her manicured hands to the source of the pain. “Ahhhh. Ow!”
Piper’s hands quickly left her face as the pain began to subside, though frequently reminded her of its presence with a pain of agony every few moments. The adrenaline helped her ignore it as she held onto the cushion of her seat, her perfect pink nails into the material as she watched the scene unfold. Shrieking every so often, her heart was pounding when the eventually pulled over. “Holy shit…” She said her blue eyes wide as she was instructed to stay. “Wait, what? Are you serious?”
Only taking a moment to pout, she quickly disobeyed his orders and grabbed the clutch of her purse. Hands shaking with undeniable rage, she strutted past Catman in determination to give her former suitor a taste of his own medicine. She clutched her bag so tightly that she was practically shaking, reaching inside the contents as she glared through the deep tint of his windows.
