Where were they going again? A benefit? A birthday? She swore he had told her earlier, but hours had passed and the unconcerned young heiress was oblivious to where they were headed. The blonde simply sighed in the seat next to her father as they approached the elaborately decorated venue. Her younger brother Jordan and his fellow fourteen-year old sweetheart were driven separately, resulting in an instantly jealous Piper. “Why does the pimple-face prince get to bring a date and I don’t?” She demanded, popping her gum loudly. With one of her long, tanned legs crossed over the other, she pouted for the duration of the trip. It was rare that the Hamilton family as a whole actually went out for an evening together. Piper was sure that this had a high importance if he was insisting the entire family went together. “I don’t see why we all have to go, it’s not like elections are any time soon. I’m sure we can put the ‘well-rounded family’ act on hold for a bit. I had plans tonight daddy!” His abrasive retort caused the blonde to silently sulk for the rest of the short-trip. “I want to go home.” She said finally as they arrived to the large building, her arms crossed. Annoyed and running out of time, Hamilton didn’t have the time at the moment to put up with his bratty daughter and climbed out of the car and slammed the door, leaving the negative little blonde secured in the back seat. She watched angrily as he instantly replaced his frown with a false, look of content and happiness before starting toward her younger brother’s car.
"Um, miss…where would you like me to take you?” The driver asked almost nervously. Piper let out an annoyed sight before answering. “Just wait a moment; I am going to go in eventually. He’ll have a cow if I don’t.” She said, her voice coated with exhaustion as she leaned back in her seat. “Besides, I need a chance to show off this dress.”
After a good fifteen minutes of completely silence, she finally sighed dramatically and climbed out of the town car and headed toward the extravagant hotel unaccompanied. Pushing the large glass door open herself, she entered the empty lobby and her pretty face was masked with confusion. Where was everyone? Perhaps they had already migrated to the ballroom – at least, she was assuming that’s where the event would be held. Looking up at the desk, she noticed it was unusually abandoned, leaving her alone to discover where the group of Gotham’s elite had migrated. Starting down an extravagant hallway, she started down it until she spotted a door that seemed like it might lead to a ballroom. Piper ripped it open and stood in the entryway – needless to say it was not the ballroom.

The room is actually a very large banquet hall - a rather lonely one as it's not in use this evening. The tables and chairs normally present are currently in storage, leaving the room empty. It's lit only by a couple of emergency lights high overhead - serving mainly to keep the room from being completely dark. Quite conspicuous in the empty room are two figures. The first is a rather fat man in evening attire - perhaps he's supposed to be at the same event that Piper is looking for? He's currently tied up at the wrists and the ankles with some sort of decorative golden cord - clearly something improvised though the source isn't immediately obvious. He's sitting on the ground, his back pressed against the wall where he's quivering and sputtering uncontrollably. And quite understandably too, as the second figure is, to put it simply, a ghost. Specifically, a petite woman in an old-fashioned dress with long, dark, curly hair. Though if that fact along isn't enough to set a grown man to trembling, the fact that she's hovering over him with a silver dagger pressed to his throat surely is. And as the door opens, she's quietly saying, " I don't have the time or the patience to waste on you, Mr. Daniels, so you'd better..." At that moment, she sees movement out of the corner of her eye and spots the girl at the door. And promptly vanishes - as if she'd never been there. It only takes Mr. Daniels half a moment to recover enough from the shock of what's going on to realize that the girl at the door might be his savior from the ghost. " Help me! Help me, please!" he begs, struggling against his bonds as he tries to push himself away from the wall and toward the open door. The panic is very evident on his face, and a thin line of red on his neck where the dagger had been indicates that the threat of the ghost is very real indeed. OOC: Boo!

Piper took several confident strides into the room, only to come to a complete halt at the sight before her. The lights were dimmed significantly and the scene begins to unfold. On the opposing side of the ballroom, there is a man who is undeniably restrained to one of the elegant hotel chairs. There is an extremely pale, almost translucent woman that is standing behind him, a sharp knife to his thick neck. Piper released a squeal and then quickly moved her manicured hands up to smoother the rest of her screams. What the hell was going on? She blinked rapidly, her heart racing as she lowered her hands. As if by magic, the woman had vanished completely, leaving her alone with the man in the room.
The internal struggle as to whether or not the blonde should help him kicks in and she glances from the door to his pleading frame in the distance. While for most it wouldn’t be nearly as difficult and they would march to the rescue, the selfish young heiress was still deciding if she should leave the room suddenly to go get some real help rather than lingering in the dark room for any longer and simply forget what she had seen.
Just as she turned around to exit, leaving him there guilt compelled her to hurry to his rescue. “Okay-okay, look I am going to help you. W-where did that woman go and why the hell does she have you tied up?” Looking over her shoulder uneasily, the blonde began to fumble at the ropes as well as with her words. There was no denying how confused she was as she struggled to undo the ropes with shaking hands. “W-what is going on?” She asked, still having difficulty freeing him because she was looking over her shoulder ever couple of seconds, assuming that the woman would return just as quickly as she had vanished.
Finally managing to free the restraints around his ankles, the blonde stood up carefully, doing a quick circle to see if they were still alone. Her heart pounded in her chest rapidly as she attempted to suppress the undeniable fear that had crept upon her. “You are bleeding. S-so I wasn’t seeing things. There was a woman, right here! I know it!” Breathing a bit heavily from the sheer panic, she began to work on freeing his wrists.

"I don't know!" Mr. Daniels exclaims, answering both of her questions at once. Clearly more than a little bit terrified, he actually makes the process of untying him even more difficult than it has to be by struggling against his bonds while she's trying to untie him. "I know I've never done nothing to any ghosts!" he insists, his own eyes scanning the room for any further signs of the woman - he's completely sure that she isn't gone either.
And the proof of that happens only a moment later, when the door that Piper used to enter the room seems to close on its own with a click. And an instant later, there's a sudden string of curses behind Piper, where the ghost reappears, shaking her hand as if it stings. "Virgins! Always virgins!" she says to herself, clearly irritated and completely ignoring the startled scream that her reappearance prompts from Mr. Daniels.
But then her attention abruptly shifts to the girl. She moves, very quickly - as if she's made of a vapor caught in a strong wind. Suddenly she's floating right in front of Piper, her face not a foot in front of hers. "Listen, girl: just because I can't touch you doesn't mean that I can't kill you or stop you from leaving - I only need to be a little creative. And I can't let you leave until I'm done here. So I suggest finding a quiet corner to sit tight in and leave Mr. Daniels to me - I'd hate to ruin such a pretty little face..." she threatens, staring but not trying too hard to be over-the-top scary. After all, she's a ghost, and that by itself is generally all the scary that she needs.
It's plenty enough to convince Mr. Daniels that his potential rescue is now impossible, and he makes a rather pained whimper at that realization - just when he thought that he might get out of this in one piece.

Piper could barely attempt at undoing the ropes with her hands shaking at such an alarming rate. She knew what she had seen, but with the recent vanishing act she couldn’t suppress the fear and alarm that was bubbling up inside her. “Ghosts?” She exclaimed, scoffing at his comment. “Don’t be silly. That’s ridiculous. Tell me what is really going on or I swear I will just leave you here! Don’t think I won’t.” In fact, she was majorly considering doing so at the moment as she struggled with the knots of these tight ropes.
As the door shuts, a scream flies from the blonde’s lips. “What was that?” She looked at the door and noticed it was rendered shut. “Oh hell no.” She said quietly, finally freeing one of his wrists. “Untie your other wrist yourself; I am getting the fuck out of here.” The blonde hurried toward the door, attempting to run in her six-inch heels as she approached the large, elaborate ballroom doors. She gave a forceful shove, attempting to leave only to find it was locked.
Another scream flies from the blonde’s lips as she hears the voice of a woman behind her. Whirling around, Piper pressed her back to the door to come face to face to the woman that was the suspected ghost. At first, the young heiress was completely speechless, attempting to find her words as she looked up at the almost translucent woman. “Excuse you!” She finally managed, taking the virgin comment as an insult “I am not a virgin! What’s that have to do with anything! Don't say that in front of people!”
Piper’s much older boyfriend at the age of fourteen was one of the key reasons she chose the path of sexuality she was currently heading down. His forceful tendencies in pair with her comforting female best friend only managed to turn into something much more than it seemed. So technically, she had never fully been with a male, though her list of women managed to outweigh the average males. Technically, she was a virgin. She wrinkled her nose at the thought of it clearly not fond of the ring it had too it.
Realizing she cannot back up anymore, she is forced to look the woman in the eye. Her skin crawled at the reappearance, causing goosebumps to race across her skin and a series of shivers to race down her spine. “L-look I am not trying to interfere, but you know you can’t do this. I mean, it’s totally illegal.” Piper stammered almost stupidly in a pathetic attempt to shed light on the situation as well as save her own skin.

That the girl takes it as an insult amuses Dionisia. "No sense denying it, sweetheart - it's magic that's called you out, not me. It knows what you... haven't done," she responds with a laugh, though on the inside it's frustrating - she certainly doesn't see why what she can and can't do should be dictated to her by such outdated rules that predate both of them by millenia. But if anything, the girl should be glad that she's a virgin - it makes trying to hurt her way more complicated than Dionisia wants to deal with at the moment. Otherwise she wouldn't have much reason to refrain from doing so.
The next thing that the girl says also causes a laugh. "Since when does the law apply to ghosts?" she asks. The rules never apply to her at night. "Now, go stand in that corner," she says, her expression suddenly very serious as she gestures at the nearest corner - which conveniently isn't very close to any doors, windows or other potential exit points, "And stay there until I'm finished, and I promise that absolutely no harm will come to you." Well, except for perhaps some psychological trauma, but that doesn't count. "Otherwise, I'm going to have to interrupt my little chat with Mr. Daniels to play a quick game of 'kill the virgin'," she threatens quite easily.
Meanwhile, Mr. Daniels is making the most of the ghost's distraction by doing trying to free his other wrist, keeping as quiet as possible as he does so in an attempt to avoid getting any of the ghost's attention. But in his panic he first manages to pull the wrong cord and makes it even tighter, so he's just now figured out where he went wrong and almost has his second hand loose.

“This is so fake. I’m on one of those shows aren’t I?” Piper let out a laugh in complete disbelief. “One of those hidden camera shows! I totally knew it. This isn’t real. Oh my god, you totally had me going for a while though.” She said matter-of-factly to the supposed ghosts face. “I mean, really you had me going for a bit. Come on, where are the camera – let me guess, you are a hired actor right?” She asked the man who still was attempting to free his bound hand from the arm of the chair. Piper let out a very exaggerated sigh, hoping to flee from the ‘virgin’ topic. That was still a little unusual that the actress would have known that – whoever hosted this show was really good, in fact, it was scary good.
“We can edit that last bit about the virgin part, right? I don’t want anyone to think I am inexperienced. Oh! Can I give a shout out to some of my friends?” She asked, looking around the room in search of some kind of camera. A pout forms on her lip when she is instructed to go stand in the corner. “Is that were the camera is?” She asked, only to have a look of utmost annoyance at the ‘ghosts’ reply. “Look, it’s not funny anymore! I know this is all totally fake. Now give it up! Cut it out with the virgin stuff!”
Piper didn’t take to kindly to the threat, though the foolish blonde was oblivious to the dangers that the ghost posed. She continued to insist that this was simply a set-up, which in her mind explained why she couldn’t remember what event the Hill family was supposed to attend. In all actuality, she had been told a number of times that they were to have dinner with the Senator and his wife this evening on the roof-top restaurant sector or the hotel and failed to recall.

As the girl starts off on hidden cameras, Dionisia is first surprised then annoyed. And then really annoyed - she doesn't have time for this! Which the girl herself underlines when she talks to Mr. Daniels and brings him back to Dionisia's attention. Hmm, he's almost loose - that won't do at all. Unfortunately, for all the power she has as a ghost, being in two places at once is not one of them.
Which means that she needs to do something to occupy the girl while she resecures Mr. Daniels. So, ignoring the girl's further protests about her virginity, she suddenly thrusts her dagger at the girl's shoulder. Though instead of stabbing the girl - which she, irritatingly enough, can't do no matter how much she wants to - she neatly snags the fabric of the dress's single shoulder strap and plunges the sharp blade deeply into the wood of the door. "Stay," she says, as if giving the order to a dog, knowing that while the dagger probably won't hold the girl forever, it will give her at least a bit of time. It should be pretty awkward trying to pull the dagger out of the door at that angle, and the other option would be to rip the dress to get free.
Leaving the girl with that problem to deal with, she disappears again, but this time she instantly reappears right in front of Mr. Daniels. "And where do you think you're going?" she asks, another dagger - identical to the first - appearing in her hand as she floats toward him. Mr. Daniels screams in surprise, removing his hand from the bond on his wrist like a child caught with their hand in a cookie jar. "We're not done talking..." she informs him as she uses the threatening dagger to make him sit up straight as her other hand tightens cord that he almost had undone. And when she's done that, she disappears again - once more prompting a shocked cry from Mr. Daniels - and the cord that had been holding his other hand suddenly seems to spring to life. "No! Please! Don't! I haven't done anything!" he pleads as the cord lassos his free wrist, pulls it to the arm of the chair, and ties itself around - once again securely binding him to the chair.

Piper continued to insist the presence of hidden cameras, with how much attention she was getting as a local celebrity of Gotham, it was only a matter of time before something as outlandish at this happened. Piper was doing everything she could to keep a false smile on her pretty face, especially seeing as there was the high suspicion of cameras being present. Her father’s last assistant had rudely informed her a few days prior that she had a sour look on her face when the media was present, making Gotham only assume she was a sour person. With the incentive to change this supposed perception of her, she attempted to smile as her heartbeat began to regulate.
“Really, this is getting a little old. Everyone can come out of their hiding places now” She shouted, her voice bouncing off the high ceilings of the ballroom. Just as she finished her sentence, a sharp knife came flying in her direction. Defenseless, a scream flew from Piper’s lips as it hurtled in her direction. Moving to shield her face, the sharp blade didn’t scathe her, but made a loud ‘thud’ as it made contact with the door behind her. Okay, so maybe this wasn’t a joke after all.
Looking back up, her eyes filled with fear as the ghost of a woman commands her like a dog. Piper realizes that she’s stuck, the blade had snagged the fabric of her dress and was pinning it between the handle of the blade and the door. “Are you crazy? This dress is designer! It costs a fortune!” She shrieked, struggling to grab onto the handle of the knife and attempt to remove it from the woodwork. Unfortunately for her, it seemed to be lodged securely and she was having a difficulty removing it from her current position. Forced to simply stay pinned to the door, Piper looks up and watched the scene unfold before her, finally convincing the blonde that this was far from a practically joke.
Almost like magic, the woman vanishes once more; reappears and the ropes seem to tighten the man to the chair by themselves within the matter of moments. Her jaw falls open and Piper’s chest rises and falls rapidly as she attempts to catch her breath. Fear rises inside her at an alarming rate as she presses her body to the door – which is not that difficult seeing as she is practically attached to it. Piper begins to pound her fists against the wood, calling over her shoulder at the top of her lungs, hoping that someone passing in the hall might result in her freedom.” SOMEONE! HELP! PLEASE HELP ME!”

Though she can hear the girl's shouting - far too easily - Dionisia isn't too concerned that she'll be overheard. When she'd initially disappeared and while the girl untied Mr. Daniels most of the way she'd quickly checked the halls and corridors for any signs of more unexpected visitors. But with most of the guests and staff fully occupied elsewhere, the odds of that are low. And the very nice banquet hall they're in has some very nice sound-proofing - it just wouldn't do for any guests trying to sleep in their rooms to be kept up by a party going late into the night, after all. And the guard who is supposed to be keeping an eye on things isn't worth worrying about - the dead can't do a thing.
Still, the girl slowed her down and, though the odds are in her favor the longer she delays the more likely it is that something will go terribly wrong. So the girl's screams encourage her to finish this with greater haste. Now that both of his wrists are secure she reappears in front of him. "And that's exactly the problem, Mr. Daniels - you haven't done anything. Like your job, for instance. I'm not getting anything done because you're not getting anything done except your mistress..." she accuses with a scowl.
And having that accusation flung at him by a ghost, of all things, causes the man to sputter in surprise, "What! I don't-"
"Spare me the lies! Do you have any idea how easy it is for me to see these things for myself?" she asks with a roll of her eyes. In her free hand - the one not holding the dagger - a pen suddenly appears and she shoves it into his hand. Then a piece of printed paper appears in her hand and she holds it up to his hand. "Sign it! On the blank line, if you please..." she orders him.
Squinting at the page, he says, "Oh, I don't have my glasses..."
"I didn't ask you to read it - sign it!" she insists, suddenly lifting her dagger in the direction of his throat, "You're in no position to refuse anyway."

Continuing to pound on the door, Piper planted a round of hateful kicks into the woodwork as well, hoping that maybe someone would hear her. “PLEASE! ANYONE! Where the hell is everyone in this damn hotel!” The blonde screamed at the top of her lungs until her voice was completely hoarse. Attempting one more time to get some kind of attention from the other side of the hall, she finds herself defeated and once again tries to awkwardly pull out the knife that is keeping her secured to the door. Watching the scene unfold before her, she tried to catch onto what the discussion between the pair consisted of, but only ended up scrunching her face in confusion.
They seemed to have almost forgotten she was even present, or were simply attempting to ignore her random cries for help and relentless pounding on the tall wooden double doors. When the ghostly woman orders her apparent hostage to sign some sort of form, Piper decided to speak up and address the situation. “I wouldn’t sign it!” She began, her voice a bit raspy from her previous screaming. “Not without a lawyer, of course! My daddy says that you shouldn't sign anything without a lawyer present.” The young blonde insists, still struggling to pull the knife from the door, unsure if the two would even acknowledge that she was speaking.
With the odd positioning, she tries to use both hands to give the knife another mighty tug, only to release a cry of annoyance when she only confirmed that she was still trapped. “Look- just let me go and you guys can keep doing this whole….whatever it is that is going on. I promise I won’t tell anyone. I am really good at keeping secrets.”

In her attempts to get attention from outside of the room, Piper is fortunate that she's also failing to get the attention of those in the room. Or at least, enough of Dionisia's attention to make her want to do something about the screaming. But she can certainly hear it - it's very irritating! If only it was easy to just kill the girl... Oh well.
In spite of that annoyance, she keeps her attention on Mr. Daniels. Who knows full well that you're not supposed to just sign anything - especially since it's bound to be important if the woman is so keen on having his signature. And even more especially since his signature has some weight in more than a few matters. On the other hand, he's being asked to do it by a ghost with a dagger. One that had no trouble dragging him in here, tying him up, and apparently has information about him that he'd really rather his wife didn't know... Clearly his refusal would have some rather awful consequences!
So though he sputters again for a moment - the sounds making it clear that he's absolutely not happy to be in this position, but what else can he do? - he moves the pen against the page in his distinctive scrawl. Whatever the paper says, by now he's certain that it can't be as bad as continuing to be tormented by this ghost woman!
And as he does so, Dionisia can't help but grin - she knew that he'd do the sensible thing when properly pushed into it. Though now her attention turns a bit toward the girl attached to the door. She's somewhat amused to see the girl is still there - she knows that she really stuck the dagger in there, but if the young woman really wanted to escape she could have torn the dress. Aw, but the poor little princess doesn't want to further damage her pretty dress, does she? "Oh, trust me - the worst way to keep a secret is to listen to people's promises. The best way is to leave no witnesses. Though in your case, I'll go the second best - don't give the witnesses a chance to tell until it's too late. So hang tight - we're almost done," she comments, sounding amused.
Looking down at the paper, she takes it away from Mr. Daniels and inspects it to make sure that he really did sign it - she knows what his signature is supposed to look like, and she needs to make sure that there isn't any funny business. Fortunately, he's far too terrified to try that. "I did it - now let me go!" he says now, trying to save at least some self-respect by making that a demand.

Losing her balance in her six-inch heels with the limits motion she was allowed being trapped to the door, the blonde fell forward. With nothing to grab onto to catch her fall, Piper went tumbling to the ballroom floor. There was a horrible ripping sound as the sleeve of her dress detached from her dress, the glimmer fabric still pinned between the dagger and the door. Thankfully, her ample chest held the now strapless and sleeveless dress up, but it was clear that the designer item was completely ruined. The blonde looked up at the pair on the other side of the room with her eyes wide, wondering if they would even notice.
Piper hastily got to her feet, examining the material that was clearly ruined. She wasn’t sure what her next move would be. The doors were stuck shut, leaving her unable to do anything but watch the scene before her. The transparent woman had gotten her way, and he had signed the contract before him. “What is that anyway?” Piper asked in regards to the document, remaining close to the door in case the woman might have the sudden mercy to release her.
As the man whined to be released, Piper looked over her shoulder. She swore she could hear the heavy fall of footsteps from the outside of the door. She looked to it hopefully, wondering if maybe some would have noticed she was missing and were coming to find her. However, the excessive pounding earlier had made her palms hurt, as well as her voice hoarse. “Yeah, that was the deal, Casper. At least let me go.”

The sound of ripping fabric causes Dionisia to glance the girl's way, but with the signed document in her hand that hardly concerns her. She has what she came here for, so whatever else happens her goal has been accomplished. Though she does click her tongue and comment, "That's a nice dress - such a pity!" Satisfied and ignoring the girl's question about it, the document disappears from her hands and she turns her attention once again to Mr. Daniels.
His words seem to amuse her, though when the girl echos it with a similar statement, she turns her amused grin toward the little lady and says, "What an incredibly unselfish thing to say!" But then her attention is back on Mr. Daniels, who she suddenly grabs rather roughly by the hair on the back of his head. "I said that I'd let her go. Not you..." she says rather coldly, and with that she suddenly plunges her dagger into his throat just below the jaw - forcing it upward in a path that she knows will be directed by the bones it encounters right into the base of the brain stem. Compared to what she could have done, it's a merciful blow - he'll die almost instantly. Which is much better than he would have gotten if she weren't otherwise pressed for time.
"You have been more trouble than you're worth," she adds as she removes the dagger and lets his head slump forward. With the dagger out of the wound, he starts to bleed quite freely. Fortunately, she's done this many times before, expected that, and has the ability to make herself as intangible as she likes, so none of it gets on her. She does pause to wipe the blade of the dagger on the man's suit, though - it's never good to let your weapon be dirty.
That done, she suddenly disappears, only to reappear at the door by the no-doubt terrified girl. But she only retrieves her other dagger with a hard pull - extracting a dagger deeply embedded in wood is something else she's done before. Having done that, she cast a truly wicked grin at the girl as she says, "Have a good evening." And with that, she disappears again - though this time if she's reappeared anywhere then it's nowhere in sight.

A terrified squeal flew from the blonde’s lips as she watched the woman plunge a dagger into the man’s thick neck. Her voice cracked and she was suddenly rendered silent and trembling, watching the thick, crimson blood spill from the newfound wound. She stood there, so terrified that she was unable to speak and unable to move. Feeling suddenly light headed, she propped her slender frame against the thick wooden door, unable to grasp onto reality. She had seen her share of messed up things, choosing to spend most of her life under the influence of one substance or other. This however, was so undeniably real that it practically petrified her.
Though she didn’t admit it, she was a fairly sheltered young woman, often whisked away from the world of crime unless she took the initiative to involve herself. This instance however, was purely involuntary. In fact, she had been attempting to escape for the past half an hour, only to fall helpless to what could only be described as a spirit. Her troubled little mind already had a great difficulty grasping reality, but with this she couldn’t even know where to think. She blinked, feeling undeniably numb as she fixed her gaze on the large man’s body, watching him basically choke on his own blood within seconds. Or was it seconds? Time seemed to freeze as she tried to catch her own breath. She clutched her chest, jaw still wide open.
She felt like she was drowning, her vision starting to blur as the ghostly woman approached her. Piper couldn’t move even if she wanted too, practically frozen in fear. After seizing her knife with ease and wishing her a pleasant evening, the blonde was left alone in the room with the corpse. The light-headed feeling only intensified. Tunnel vision quickly began to kick in as the room around her began to fade to black. With no one to catch her, the blonde fainted, landing in an unceremonious pile on the hotel ballroom floor.
