The night was going by slowly, Jervis was greatly annoyed. he had forced himself to hide in his apartment as that he heard on the news that a few young girls had gone missing in Gotham. Already police had visited him and interrogated him for the hereabout of these missing girls.. but Jervis wasn't behind the kidnappings...
None the less, Jervis was sure that the dark Knight or one of the others would be swooping down on him. he growled at the idea. He tried to calm his nerves by pouring himself some tea, but it wasn't enough to get his mind off the unnerving arrival of the Bat crew.
He then looked down at his leg, the cat he had brought in from the cold was rubbing against his leg. Jervis had no plan on keeping the furry thing, but he had no one he knew off hand to take it in...
"Hmm..." he then raised a brow and picked the cat up, looking at it deeply for a long moment. He was determining if his mad idea was worthy of trying.

Adorned in her signature Batgirl costume, Babs scaled the wall of an apartment building that was housing one of her least favorite people to deal with. With the help of her trusty utility belt and the fire escape, she had her bike parked a great distance away from her down the length of the alley in case she needed to make a quick escape. With her bat communicator on and fully functional, she knew this time she would have no trouble asking for help after the past incident with the Ventriloquist.
Arriving silently, she pursed her lips as she took a moment to observe her surroundings carefully before she moved in. The apartment seemed to be empty of any young blondes, which was slightly disappointing to the young heroine. She would much rather catch the culprit this evening than allow another day to go one with those poor girls missing and away from their families. As each minute passed the less of a chance there was at recovering them, which did not settle well with Babs.
Leaning in the doorway, she stumbled upon a very unsettling scene. There stood the man that she had suspected, deeply concentrating on not a blonde – but a cat. This was sure to be interesting. Keeping her distance, she knew how deceiving he could be despite how he seemed to appear at that very moment. Tossing a file containing pictures that she had generated from the computer systems in the Batcave of the missing girls in front of his feet, she hoped to catch his attention. “Miss me, Hatter?” It’s been a while. Don’t mind me; I just decided to let myself in. We need to talk.”

He raised a brow as he turned his attention to Batgirl, indeed he was somewhat..ok, he wasn't really surprised at all. He put the cat down onto the Dining room table and walked to grab his chess set. He gave a slight sigh as he eyes the costumed woman that had barged into his apartment, really didn't these 'heroes' have any manners?
"I do believe the police have asked all the questions.. so why don't you toddle off?" he grumbled as he set up the game for him and the cat, yes he was going to play chess against a cat. Jervis really didn't take Batgirl for the brains for a game like Chess, so the cat would have to do. Jervis then decided to pick up the file that he had stepped over at least twice before tossing it back at her," These girls aren't MY problem...."

She didn’t move from her spot, leaning casually against the doorframe. In all honesty, Babs didn’t see the Hatter as too much of a threat. Trained in several genres of martial arts and a massive confidence in regards to the situation, she was sure that a majority of this was simply going to be chat where he led her around in absurd circles. “Yeah, but we both know I am not the police.” She watched him as he reached for a chessboard and sat it down in front of the cat. She scoffed, trying to contain her laughter as she spoke to him in a very condescending voice. “You can’t be serious. You think you are going to play chess against a cat? Let me guess, you stole it too?”
Simply trying to get a reaction out of him at this point, she reached for the files and withdrew one of the pictures, harshly shoving the image in his face. “Oh really? This is Alana Rodgers and she was taken yesterday. Sure she doesn’t look familiar at all? I mean, she seems to fit the stereotype that you seem to go after: Blonde, petite, and young. So why don’t you take one more really hard look at these for me, because this one seems to have you written all over it.” She finished with discuss, leaving the rest of the photo’s scattered across the floor.

He sneered at her comment about the cat, how could anyone steal a cat? he growled as he tried to start the game between him and the ginger feline, but twas suddenly face to face with a photo. he blinked as he half listened to Bat-Girl then rolled his eyes and moved aside from the photo," I assure you, as lovely as the young girl may look.. I have nothing to do with her disappearance..I've been here in this open cage"
He huffed at being insulted by this interrogation, he'd already explained himself to the Gotham P.D. and now he was re-explaining himself to ta girl in a costume, what next? Jervis moved a pawn and waited for the cat to make a move.

“So you are trying to tell me that you have not left this crap-hole apartment in a week? I highly doubt that…though based on its condition, I guess it’s highly believable.” She watched his interaction with the cat. God, this was useless. Why was she always assigned to go after the ones that were mental enough to carry on a chess game with a feline? If it weren’t for the mask hiding the upper half of her face she might have seized a handful of her thick, red hair out of frustration.
Doing everything she could to hide her utmost annoyance, she decided that she would make some use of this time. “Well then,” She started again, using a bit of a softer tone of voice at this point. “What have you been up to for the last couple of days then, if I might ask. It seems unusual for you to be so…” Innocent. Quiet. But those were not the words that she wanted to use, knowing it might only anger him and make him even less compliment. “Well behaved.” She decided on finally, still knowing it wasn’t the proper word she was looking for, but it would have to do.

The young girl was becoming rather annoying, how rude of her to call his apartment a ' crap-hole '. He scoffed and snubbed her, his nose held high as he excused himself from the chess game, the cat giving a soft mewl before Jervis approached her. He inhaled and let i out a soft sigh before he glanced at her from behind his wheat colored hair," My dear woman... I have been keeping to myself for the past while due to I am not in the fairest mood to socialize..." His British accent made his comment a bit snobby to say the least.

Hands on her lips, she tiled her head upward as he approached her almost as if she believed it might make her appear a bit taller. Though she did not appear prepared to strike at any moment but her casual stance, she was more than ready to send a painful blow upside the Hatter’s head if he stepped out of line or even got to close. However, there was something peculiar about the man before her that almost led her to believe he was telling the truth. Still, if she learned one thing this past year after being inducted into the Bat family, she knew it would be completely foolish to let her guard down so simply. Instead, she decided to amuse him a bit, forcing herself to refrain from rolling her eyes at his comment. “And why have you suddenly decided to withdraw yourself from society.” She asked, “Bitter because your tea party canceled?” Smirking at her own joke, she wondered what his reasoning would be.

Jervis gave the masked woman a dead pan look and then scoffed, nearly insulted. he then looked down at the ginger cat," A bit mouthy isn't she?". The meowed and then licked it paws as it awaited to continue their chess game. Jervis then looked bat to Batgirl and tilted his head slightly," I've found no reason to venture beyond the comfort of my apartment... Nothing really stirring out on Gotham right now..so..." He then waved his hand at her, shooing her away.

Scowling at his comment toward his newfound feline friend, Batgirl stepped closer to the edge of his board game, nearly minutes from kicking it over in order to grab his attention once and for all. “You know I can hear you, right? If you would just cooperate a bit more and then you won’t have to deal with me or my mouth.” Despite his reasoning’s, she still was not as willing to leave empty-handed. There had to be something, after all the pattern all seemed to replica his typically path of crime.
She rolled her eyes at his comment once again. Goodness, at this rate they were going to get stuck in the back of her head if they kept this up. “If nothing here strikes your interest, why do you stay? Then I won’t have to deal with you anymore.” She smiled at her own little quip, hands on her hips as she waited for his reaction.
