As Selina and Elvis left the building (“Yes, Elvis has left the building, folks!”), Vicki Vale came running down the sidewalk from the opposite direction. When she entered the nightclub, she looked around and made a beeline straight for Rowdy.
“Rowdy! I’m here!” she exclaimed when she finally reached him. “Hiya, cutie! Love the costume! You missed me so much that you had to call and hear my voice, eh? That was so sweet. I just got home a few minutes ago. I was out with --”
Vicki stopped herself short when she saw tears welling in Rowdy’s eyes.
“Rowdy, what’s wrong?” she asked. “What happened tonight? Are you okay?”

When Rowdy heard and recognized Vicki’s voice, his ears perked up and he turned to see if she was really there -- if it was really true. To hear her in that moment felt like a dream. He removed his cowl and smiled at her.
Suddenly, the emotional wall burst inside him, and his eyes began to tear up. He needed Vicki to be here. And she was.
At that moment, Rowdy couldn’t say anything, and he knew Vicki understood. She always did. She was his best friend.
Meanwhile, Vicki tried to be strong for Rowdy, but her bottom lip started quivering. “Oh, Rowdy . . . Don’t cry . . . Please don’t cry . . . You’re Batman, remember? . . . Shhhh . . . Please don’t cry. Whatever happened tonight, I’m so sorry . . . . Please don’t cry . . . I’m sorry . . . I love you . . . ”
As the two friends began swaying with each other to a slow song, Rowdy held Vicki close. He appreciated Vicki’s sentimental words, but he wished Selina Kyle was the one he was holding in his arms right now.
Yeah. He was Batman? Hell, no.

Harvey escorted her off and out of the club for a moment. He hooked them around in an alleyway behind it.
"So... What's up?"
He lit a cigarette and smirked to her. He just wanted to smoke, but not in there, that place was loud and so was everyone in it. He liked a little peace here and there.
"So... This place could do with a few more bouncers that know what the hell they are doing, but for the most part, it ain't bad. Structurally it could open to a few baddies, but nothing some cameras and what not couldn't do."

As they left the club, Rowdy's cologne still lingering in her nose, Selina was a bit shocked still. "What a night. I just...I dont know what to say." She linked her arm with his, shaking her head to his costume. "You had to go with Elvis. Nice one."
It was a few more steps before she pilfered his cigarette, grateful for the nicotine to help calm her nerves. "I agree. More at the front, and the side doors. Structurally...I need to come back and look at a few things. I didn't have my equipment, and couldn't get where I wanted with patrons there. And..." She shook her head, taking one last long pull on the smoke before handing it back to him.
"Like, he's a sweetheart. We met a few days ago, business meeting. But I haven't been pulled into the spotlight like that...in years. And on a businessy sort of meeting? I just..." She shook her head in disbelief. "He's a fantastic guy. I need to follow up with him about looking over the club. And thank you for pulling security tonight. I appreciate it. And your timing is pretty fantastic." Her elbow hit part of his polyester costume as they continued, and she was glad for the quiet as she took in a deep breath. "You want to go to Lou's, maybe?" She could do for a shot or two, and a quieter dance floor with fewer gawking eyes, and a partner who knew the steps to a dance she loved.
