[Post order: Selina, Nathaniel, Iris, Jere, Joan]
Is she nervous? No. Not really. Not yet. After drawing up blueprints, plans of action, guidelines, presentations, and the such, and making copies, she's set. But even after she's made the reservations at Tableau, she's still trying to pick the right outfit; something professional, but still her. Something that shows them while she's no Luthor or Wayne, she's a Kyle, and can more than hold her own in case any of them ask why she's heading the revamp, instead of the other two men. She at least will know a familiar face; Iris will be there, but while they have seen each other under such different circumstances, there is that doctor-patient confidentiality agreement. And nothing she is doing with this endeavor would scream theft, so there should be no tie in.
Finally she's able to decide on a dress; a simple grey shift with an exaggerated collar, heels, and delicate, but gorgeous emerald accessories; drop earrings, a ring or two, and several bracelets. Grabbing a jacket, she's able to catch her cab to Tableau hopefully before everyone else.
The room set up was more than she could have asked for. At the fusion restaurant, the circular table is set up with everyone one would possibly need, as well her leather folders set at each place. There is an optional projector if she needs to use it, as well as her laptop; prepped and ready.
Sipping from her own glass of wine, and pulling her long, wavy hair behind her, now all she can do is wait. Then hope that her presentation is taken well enough, the details hammered out, and the project put into motion.

Nathaniel isn’t nervous and if he had been, mediation and then yoga with Iris would have taken care of that. He steps out of the shower, rubbing his short hair with the towel before drying the rest of himself off and wrapping it around his waist. He stepped out of the bathroom and into the bedroom where Iris was already dressing and opened her closet to pull out the casual suit he’d decided to wear to the dinner Ms. Kyle was hosting at Tableau. Something that showed he took Arkham and Gotham City just seriously as anyone else even if he was just the son of Arkham’s owner for the time being. He was just as invested in the future as Jeremiah because Arkham Asylum was to be his legacy as well. His future was what he built out his decisions and the choices he made. He had just as much at stake in Arkham’s future as his father. And this time he was going to have a say. This time he wouldn’t hold his tongue.
He chose a white button-up under a black and black pinstripe blazer as well as matching slacks which were on in very little time. He had tucked the white shirt into the slacks, put on and fastened the belt he was wearing; and pulled on the blazer. He sat on the bed to put on his black socks and his dark Oxfords. During that time his hair had almost dried and all he deemed to do with it was comb it and apply just a bit of product standing beside Iris in the mirror. He smiled at her.
“You look beautiful,” he told her.
He had offered to drive that evening to Tableau as it was too far for walking. He wasn’t itching to get there extremely early and they still had time. So he was able to casually wait for Iris to finish before they could leave and arrive together. It wasn’t as if their relationship was a secret anymore, and if there anyone’s opinion he wanted the most it was hers. He was excited to hear what Ms. Kyle had to offer and interested to see and hear Iris’s own opinions on it. He was looking forward to tonight, in other words.

Of course Nathaniel's compliment prompts an instant smile from Iris, which probably only enhances her appearance further. She's wearing a knee-length white dress with a black floral pattern, a black belt, a black blazer over top, and a pair of black pumps. It can be tricky trying to balance looking professional and feminine at the same time, but she thinks that she's pulling it off well enough. If anything, she was worried that the lack of color would be a bit stark, but if Nathaniel deems it beautiful then it's good enough for her. She rewards his compliment with a kiss and turning it back on him by saying, "I'm just trying to keep up with you." Which has become a bit of a stock phrase for her, though she does mean it each time. And she can't resist helping him straighten his collar before they go.
It used to be that Arkham Asylum was just a step on the road for Iris, but as she's gotten more and more involved with Nathaniel that's changed. After all, the more time she spends with him the further into the future she can picture their relationship going and it's already to the point where the future of the asylum ought to matter to her. She's of the opinion that it would probably be easier to start a new asylum from scratch than to fix up Arkham but, while she has her opinions about his father, she knows that it also means a great deal to Nathaniel and therefore it's something that she cares about too. She's still uncertain about how freely she'll want to speak during this meeting, or if she'll instead simply support whatever Nathaniel says, but she supposes she'll decide that when it happens.
And of course she was quick to agree when he offered to drive - especially since they both had a few hours before the meeting to get ready. More than enough time for them to meditate, do some yoga, shower, and now get ready together without having to rush. She always hates having to rush, especially while she's spending time with Nathaniel. So even though it takes her a bit of time before she's satisfied with her hair and makeup, they still manage to be among the first to arrive. But though she of course knows Selina already, she doesn't do more than cast a friendly smile her way as they enter - given how they met before, Iris is going to follow her lead when it comes to how they interact - she's prepared to go as far as to act as if they've never met if Selina chooses to say so. She takes privacy very seriously, after all.

Jeremiah smiled at Melina as he straightened the shoulders of his black blazer. He pushed a piece of her brown hair behind her ear as she moved to smooth the front.
“You sure you don’t want to come,” he asked, “I know you just married into it, but Arkham is just as much yours as it is mine. Besides, Nathaniel is bringing his girlfriend.” Melina laughed and shook her head.
She stepped back, “You know I wish I could, but someone has to cook for Isaiah and make sure he goes to bed on time. I don’t want you to be late. You’d better get going.” Jeremiah kissed her gently and nodded, making sure his gray button up was completely buttoned before grabbing his wallet and sliding it into his black slacks. Melina followed him to the door and they shared another kiss before he left with his keys dangling from his fingers.
Melina he knew she had been wanting to meet Iris, and he was a bit ashamed at his earlier behavior towards her. A bit. He wasn’t sure how to feel about his son dating someone older. He knew he wasn’t looking for a woman to pay his way while he did whatever he wanted, but it was still strange to him and he was protective of his son. He tried to cast that out of his mind, however, as he drove towards Tableau. Nathaniel and his relationship wasn’t the purpose of this dinner, but instead the future of Arkham Asylum. He was both surprised and happy that finally someone was serious about this. Arkham Asylum needed a lot of help, but he was willing to put in the work in order to see his Asylum returned to glory. He’d tear the whole thing down again if he had to.
He arrived just after Nathaniel and Iris, casting a smile at the both of them as he found his seat. He nodded to Ms. Kyle, “Glad to see you, Ms. Kyle,” he said to her politely. “You have chosen a lovely location for our meeting.”

Joan would really rather be working. It wasn't that she opposed the idea of going out to a fancy place for dinner and technically it was work, she couldn't remember the last time she went somewhere so nice for personal reasons. She wasn't entirely sure she had, the higher classes and their expensive tastes were not something which commonly met with Joan's life. Removing herself from her office and her comfortable routine early in the day to get ready was an uncomfortable break in normality anyway, she still felt there was so much more she needed to get done before the presentation.
Some time was spent considering appropriate wear for such a place and finally a knee length dress she wouldn't have felt inappropriate wearing to work but thought suitably expensive enough to fit in at a high end restaurant was settled on. With how much she was sure she'd have to spend on a gown for the Gala itself she was loath to buy something new just for tonight.
With just a good bye to her cat Joan leaves her apartment alone and drives herself to the restaurant, constantly thinking through how important the meeting could be to the Asylum and everything she could think of that needed changing, deciding which of those things she could actually talk about rather than keeping hidden under the rug for fear of everything going to hell.
She arrives moments after Jere and spots him quickly and their gathering group from there. Clutching her purse she follows him to the table and offers a nod to Selina "Ms. Kyle, thank you for this" Iris and Nathaniel get another nod, though she still disapproves of the pair she doesn't say much on the subject she just thinks it'll all end very badly and then one of them will have to leave the Asylum and it wasn't likely to be Nathaniel. Though she doesn't deny the possibility that Iris may just be trying to advance through the business and she dislikes that about as much. It wasn't the time to think about it, she tries to wrestle her mind back on to the future of Arkham rather than the complications of workplace dating "Jeremiah" she finally greets as she takes her seat and begins to have a curious flick through her folder on the table.

It's not long after she takes a few sips of her wine and people start to trickle in. Nathaniel, she assumes, with Iris, Jeremiah, and Joan. She's relieved they all showed, and the smile on her face is genuine as she stands, welcoming them to the table that already has a flagon of red wine, one of white, and glasses at the ready. "I know it may have been an inconvenience, but a much needed one considering. Albeit, I thank you all for coming. Your input is necessary for us all to move forward." While everyone else takes a seat, she doesn't bother to crack open her own folder, or to sit but instead greets them around the table, one-by-one personally. It seems that Jeremiah and and Joan will be sitting beside her, with Nathaniel and Iris filling in the gaps. Jeremiah is first, whom she's spoken on the phone with a time or two before. "Doctor Arkham, I'm glad this is finally happening. Welcome." With a click of her heel, she offers a hand, and grasps Nathaniel's hand next; "Mr. Arkham, quite lovely to put a face to the name," she greets the younger Arkham with a smile. Then onward to Iris, who she has to agree looks a bit more chipper than when in 'work mode,' despite this being an odd fusion of work, and pleasure. Her hand is offered, and Iris' is grasped with a friendly smile. "Doctor Ledford, quite good to see you again." Next it's Joan, a woman who seems quite familiar, but she can't seem to put her finger to it. "Doctor Leland, thank you for making the time for this. It won't be in vain."
Circling the table completely, Selina sits, poised to speak. "I just want to say thank you all for making time to do this. Just a bit of background, and introduction; my name is Selina Kyle, owner of Black Cat Securities. Call me Selina, Ms. Kyle, but I do prefer Selina, considering not only the breadth, but the depth of this projection. I'm a born and bread Gothamite, save for my university years that were spent abroad. But it's Gotham that tugged at my heartstrings to return." A sip of wine, and she continues. "A few weeks ago I was approached by Lex Luthor with a project he wanted me to lead; a joint Metropolis-Gotham venture to better some of the high-security medical and disciplinary facilities across the two cities. I was chosen from the numerous Gotham companies-and yes, over Wayne Enterprises to do this revamp. Based on my own focused skill on security, Mr. Luthor saw my own company as a clear forerunner to take this on. Jeremiah and I have had prior dialogues about preliminary moves in how to go about this, and gave me your respective names out of his staff to aide me in this tri-fold plan."
"It's not unknown that Gotham is dark. Crime-ridden. Run-over not only by criminals in the much-lacking Blackgate, but those who's motivations run deeper. More psychologically. The villains, rogues, and vigilantes that help, hinder, and hail different consequences on each civilian citizen that lives in Gotham's perimeter. Sadly, so far no one has turned their eye to take in the failing facility that is the asylum. Everyone knows there are issues with people escaping, re-admits, staffing conundrums. But there has been no gumption to make a change. So that is where I come into the picture. BCS, backed by Luthor's funding, is going to roll out a tri-fold plan, that I have included detailed informatics in the folders before you. But before I go more in depth into that, and the plan, and each of your own roles, are there any questions?"
Her introduction goes off with a hitch, thankfully, as her eyes go to each person at the table in turn during her little speech. Once the preliminary questions are addressed, Selina turns to Joan, and hands her a thick-cardstock envelope. "There is wine, water, or alternate beverages if you chose. Order what you wish tonight, as I'll be picking up the tab, but we will be having appetizers in about ten minutes. "But that card you hold there will be the invite to the Metropham Gala. You all will be privy to the information I will be speaking on there, which is the plan for Arkham Asylum, and Blackgate. James Gordon is my pointman so far for discussing Blackgate, as you four are for the asylum."
"Firstly, the outline. Invites will go out for the Gala. I do hope you all present will be able to attend. There will be an auction benefiting the cause. Dinner, drinks, a bit of song and dance explaining Metropham from Lex and I, dancing, and overall it should be a good time. But while that is already 3/4 of the way done with planning, we should go over the actual tri-fold revamp for the asylum. Lex wanted to do a few things, but I gently steered him in a different direction. Three levels, three different foci. And steer I did, illuminating to him that time is not on our side with those who are running a muck on the streets of Gotham. The more 'special' cases. ...but I digress..."
"This plan focuses on manpower, programs, and security. A tri-fold revamp in security personnel and their training; increasing the physical bodies would be one pillar. Security on the grounds and within, which is a pet cause of my own that needs to be updated; that encompasses cameras, protocols, alarms and so forth. The third requires all the minds here tonight. I propose a rehabilitation that would hopefully help those that are already at the asylum, keeping those in that need to stay put, and prevent escapes, but later, in releasing those that are rehabilitated back into society, while reducing re-admissions." It's clearly an intricate plan, but not un-executable."
"With this tri-fold program, I'm hoping that between the four of you, there would be one aspect of the revamp you each would be able to take on, head, and champion it. One would be undertaking the security personnel, second would be the physical surveillance, and thirdly; the psychological rehabilitation program. After discussion and development, we should then be able to roll out and then execute the program, funding not an issue, but not to be overly frivolous, either."
Letting that part sink in, Selina sits back gently in her seat as the waitstaff sets several delightful looking appetizers before the table. There is quite an eclectic mix; olives and tapas, bits of sushi, sweeter items, and cheese. Considering it's now her turn to listen, and respond to the questions lobbed her way, she takes the time to re-fill her wine glass, and take a few items to nibble to fortify herself.

Of course Nathaniel greeted his father and he greeted Joan with a nod, knowing both were less than pleased with his relationship, but fortunately for them it was his and not theirs. Though had he heard some of their opinions he’d have laughed at what they thought of their relationship. That Iris was trying to advance herself? That was laughable, she was already ahead of him and needed no help from him. She had been strong without him and now all he served as was an accomplice to her and vice versa. It was always easier to voice opinions with someone else on your side. You tended to side less with the majority and stick to your own instincts. It was tested and proven.
Speaking of sharing opinions, Nathaniel had spent enough time perusing the menu to know what he wanted, and as Selina finished explaining the openings available, he set his glass of tea down and nodded, “I have had many a discussion with Iris about the rehabilitation programs and as such composes much of both of studies in our fields, with many different types and introductions to coping, cognitive reconstruction, and other such rehabilitation techniques, I’d like to offer that she and I take that aspect.” Yes, they had had long discussions of what could be done to help their patients, not just in returning to life, but in feeling comfortable in their environment. That was important. Without that first step there was no use in completing the others. You needed an environment conducive to therapy and right now, Arkham was lacking in that.
And there were so many areas to address. Nathaniel smiled, both in politeness and in aspiration. He was a man who knew what he wanted and with Iris at his side, someone to bounce ideas off of who wanted the same things he did for the patients which was their own well-beings, why shouldn’t he have been confident offering them for that job?

The relationship between Iris and Dr. Arkham seems to be growing gradually more complicated. Because on one hand, she feels the same as she always has about his competence and fitness as both a psychiatrist and the administrator of the asylum. On the other hand, the fact that he's also the father of the man she's completely crazy about is gradually becoming more and more important. But even though that's somewhat of a complicated spot to be in, the question of how to interact with him is simple: she's very polite but reserved to his face, and very frank and honest when she's not around him - whether or not he's likely to find out about it. It's her way of balancing out being able to work with the man but also not suppressing her honest opinions completely. And punishing him for obtaining information in ways other than talking directly to her. So naturally she returns Dr. Arkham's smile - and it can be assumed to be not entirely sincere even though she gives no sign of that.
Of course, Dr. Arkham isn't the only one who knows about her and Nathaniel now. Though fortunately since they kept their relationship quiet until their relationship was very official, the office gossip has been as minimal as it could possibly be. Which isn't none by any means - naturally people think that their justified in airing their opinion about possible ulterior motives for the relationship, the age difference, and other such things. But at least they've avoided gossip during the stages of the relationship where they were still trying to decide if they were serious or not. And Iris copes with what gossip there is by not giving a rat's ass about any of it. Instead of worrying over what everyone at work thinks, she worries about actually working at work - what a concept!
Giving her supervisor a nod when the woman enters, Iris attempts to lay all of that aside and simply focus on Selina - who gets an even broader smile and a nod when she's greeted personally. Her face turns deeply thoughtful as Selina speaks, though she keeps her more specific reactions privately in her head. Does she think that this will work? Well, maybe - she'd need to hear more specifics before she'll be able to form an opinion on that. But at least the possibility is there, even if she's pessimistic enough to believe that the odds lean towards something going wrong. She may be newer to the facility, but she knows enough of the patient histories to know that when the rogues become involved nothing goes according to plan. Still, that doesn't mean that she's not going to do her part to make it succeed - she's just not going to be totally unsurprised if it doesn't.
Since she doesn't have any initial questions, her attention turns to the menu just long enough to decide what to order and then she's smiling to herself over the invitation to the Gala - oh, that will be fun! But then her attention is pulled away from it and back to Selina as she outlines what she's doing and their part in it. When she's finished, Iris looks somewhat pensive, but then she smiles when Nathaniel speaks up - he's practically read her mind. Nodding quickly in agreement, she comments, "It's true - we've spoken a lot about the rehabilitation programs and, though we're both relatively new to the field, that means that we're also the most up to date on current techniques. On the other hand, we're probably not as familiar with the particular security challenges presented by the asylum, not having worked at the facility as long, so it's probably best for those aspects to be handled by the more experienced members of the staff." She ends by giving a polite nod toward Dr. Arkham and Dr. Leland. Of course, the only reason why she'd put forth that argument is because what little interest she has in being in charge of revamping some part of security is dwarfed by her interest in doing the same for rehabilitation - that Nathaniel wants to do it with her only sweetens the deal.

It was careful attention that Jeremiah listens to Selina’s plans, worrying himself not with Iris’s opinion of him. Perhaps he had been too swift in his test of her, perhaps he had been swift in many things. It was like an illness he felt often, but a fever that seared over every cell of his body. But like his son, like Iris, like all that gathered he wanted Arkham to reclaim the glory it had when he’d first seen to its reconstruction. So if he has qualms with anyone they are set aside for something more productive, giving all his attention and consideration to Selina. He is surprised that Lex himself is not giving this, but he finds himself not only impressed at the man, but Ms. Kyle. She is the best woman for this, she is organized, prepared and he has little questions.
He does not even so much as argue as Nathaniel stakes claim for himself and Iris on Rehabilitation, in fact he nods. “Though I’ve not been privy to these conversations, I know that Nathaniel and Dr. Ledford are correct in their justification. I’ve been out of medical school and my only updating has occurred at the various conferences and continuing classes I have attended. Their fresh views and up-to-date knowledge on the techniques would serve well in the effort of rehabilitation.” He smiles again in approval to the two younger doctors and then focuses back on Selina.
“As for myself, Ms. Kyle,” he continues, “I’m sure being the CEO of such a prodigious security company—I’ve heard many impressive things about it which has me honored of your agreeing to aid us. But being the CEO I imagine you’ll be seeing to security yourself. I offer my services wherever you wish me. I’m more than happy lending a hand where the most help is needed.”
Yet of course he has reservations. He wonders if it will work. He does hope so, but in years and years he too has come to accept that it might not, but desperate times and all. And the measures they are taking? They are desperate indeed. This is a total overhaul of the building. He will not be surprised if this measure does fail, but he’ll be even more disappointed. He can feel weariness seep into his bones, but of course he’s not showing pessimism. He has to be positive for his asylum. He wants to see it shine again.
He wants it so badly.

"I'm certain there will be adequate time to discuss the changes in each area as the process goes on and I'll be interested to see how significant experience within the asylum can be paired up with newer techniques both in relation to patient treatment and with the new security possibilities" Joan replies without looking up from her copy of notes before her attention shifts to the menu long enough to order one of the more reasonably priced wines.
It's a great struggle for her not to try and get involved in all aspects of the changes to happen around Arkham, there's a reason she doesn't have much of a life outside of work anymore after all. At best she can agree to take a back seat and let others do the hard work but it's highly unlikely that Iris has seen the last of her supervision and Joan would like to believe experience is just as important as knowing the latest techniques.
Finally Joan looks back to Selina again, content that she's skimmed over things enough to at least have a vague idea of where the evening will be going "I know some specifics to the asylum that may be of use for the improvement of the security procedures" Most of which she picked up to stay safe or best get out of the way when someone was either breaking out or seeking revenge on doctors "Though naturally on the whole it makes the most sense to defer to the experience of those who create such security systems for a living. I would be happy to provide assistance where it is needed though" She has a keen interest in keeping the patients where they need to be after so long spent with them breaking out to terrorise the city. In addition though the more she knew about the new security the easier it would be to still remain safe the next time something terrible happened.
A small thanks is offered to the waiter as her wine arrives but Joan is only barely distracted and after a moment continues talking to Selina "I believe I shall hold my questions for now, I would hate to waste our time asking about things which end up coming up during the evening anyway"

Thankfully, it's easy enough to tick off each area to work on as staff members pipe up. One by one they speak up about which interests them most, and Selina then hands out a secondary folio to each in turn, their names' embossed on the outside in the leather cover. It's not only that she had studied those she would be working with, but Selina had made an educated guess on which mental health worker would make a bid on each improvement area.
Of course Jeremiah's folio will have additional information in it; the Asylum is his brainchild, so as herself and him will be meeting a bit more frequently, he will have tabs on everything, via updates. It would be in poor form to keep him ill-updated. And as ever, Selina believes in communication.
Turning to both Iris, and Nathaniel, Selina nods. "Those points are correct. You two will be fantastic to head this. I've done my own research into why certain demographics are escaping, where they are, and how they are doing it, as well as what programs they have been in, so hopefully coupled with the knowledge you both posess, this will entirely be able to reform the rehabilitation and programs that are available."
Not letting the welcome smile go unnoticed, there is a slight twinkle in Selina's eye as she speaks more pointedly to Iris. As if she is clearly letting her know she is in approval of her beau, and her expertise as well. It's never easy proving yourself in a more male-dominated work force, or to be dating the boss' son. "Hopefully you've both brought your schedules so we can set up several appointments to meet up and get these ciricullae going and successful. While I am no therapist myself, I know how important rehabilitation is for those that are habitually afflicted by what ails them." Another sip of her wine before she continues, she glances down to her notes before addressing the rest of the table. The slight interplay between father, son, girlfriend, and coworker is not lost on her. There is adoration, nervousness, distain, and aloofness, amongst other emotions that are clearly charged in the air. But from her list, these seemed to be those mostly highly capable in her opinion; to head what she had been hired to do. So relationships aside, Selina is hopefully optimistic everyone at the table can be an adult, pull up their appropriate undergarments, and work together as a team. Playing nice is not an option here.
"I will be heading that aspect, Dr. Arkham. Hopefully with your, as well as Dr. Leland's insight, will allow me what exacting and specific overhauls will need to be met personnel wise, and with their training, as will physical security systems wise as well. I know I may have a few uncouth ideas; trust me in that those methods will benefit your own personal security, as well those of Gotham that are not currently abiding within the asylum's walls." Handing over Jeremiah's folio, within will be several other outlines, blueprints, and thoughts that she has for each area, that will need to be discussed, and gone over as well with his input. "As much as I am ...a working front for Luthor's money, he does have a genuine interest in making sure those that need to stay within the walls; stay there, and those that are, and able to be rehabilitated, are kept from repeat visits, he also sought out my smaller, more concentrated company because that is what I do, and I do it well. Wayne Enterprises was, and is..too diversified. So I am honored in the fact that I will be able to work with you all, individually, and as a council, to improve upon an already solid idea."
Handing over Joan's folio, she nods again, smiling warm to the woman. "As I had mentioned prior, I will need to be coordinated with you both as well, to get ideas rolling. Dr. Ledford, as soon as you would be able to show me those areas, I would appreciate it. I just make one request; I need the tour, and areas pointed out in both night, and daylight conditions. The equipment I am planning on bringing in via a privately contracted company will be updating the prior trappings, but I have noticed in my prior work that some nuances are missed in both daylight, and nighttime hours, so I like to cover both." And it is true. A shadow may obscure a clear path, when the opposite may ring true when daylight is there. And while her method of being locked into the asylum may be odd to some, it's an idea that Selina will be speaking with to Jeremiah specifically, before going more in depth with the others.
"I am hoping, and planning that we will all be meeting frequently to discuss updates, changes, and progress across the three main areas, as well as meeting individually to develope these ideas and procedures, as well as the physical changes that the asylum will be going under. Extra security will be necessary, but I doubt rehousing certain inmates will be of no issue. Segregation of ceratain populations may be an issue, but one to be addressed when the time comes. And once the new camera and security system is in place, I, myself, will be holding inservices for staff and personel on how they work, as well as how they differ from the prior trappings." Another sip of her wine, and she holds up her own folio, tapping it with a manicured fingertip.
"These are personal folios I have put together. They outline the tentative adjustments made to each area, my own research into what needs to be done, a few cases studies, several write-ups of my own on escapes, incidents and so forth, as well as my contact information, as well as a timeline for the physical revamp to be taking. Hopefully tonight we can hammer out a meeting schedule, as well as my own one on one meetings with you all, to get the individual sessions out of the way, so progress can start. But for now, I'd like to invite you all to eat a bit, and fire your questions my way on any topics that come to mind. You four here, at this table, bring to this project a unique, learned viewpoint and set of ideas that will be of value to this endeavor. So we should be on somewhat of more familiar terms, in my own opinion, to make this enjoyable for us all as we will be seeing more, and in some cases, much more of each other than normal," She ends with a smile and a raise of her wineglass.

When Nathaniel receives the folder and sees that his name has been branded on it, he can’t stop a smile from forming on his face. He’s impressed, surprised, and if he had felt a bit suspicious it only warms his gut in the tantalizing fear it brings to him. He simply opens it and takes to looking at the contents as he subtlely takes notice of the folio everyone else is receiving. He does take note that his father’s is a bit thicker, but it doesn’t surprise him. Arkham Asylum is his, he has to be in on the whole process. It’s right to do and he just hopes his father uses the knowledge solely for Arkham’s betterment, not his own.
He closes the folio temporary to nod at Selina. “I’m glad you give us your high confidence in this area. And you’re right with the your studies added with our knowledge should give us clean and clear ways to enhance the programs for both the mental health and rehabilitation for our patients.” He looks to Iris and beneath the table takes her hand and intertwines their fingers. He doesn’t catch Selina’s approval. He’s just happy to be working on an area that he knows he and Iris can make a difference in. Finally they could improve a majority of what has been bothering the both of them about the asylum. Environment was everything. It improved or declined the mental health of patient. They had to feel safe, welcome, and comfortable. As it was now, the asylum made so many patients hopeless. It wasn’t that the asylum was a trap in itself. It was merely outdated in both accommodations and programs.
He takes a sip of his own wine before nodding to Selina. “As requested, I have a copy of mine and can also email it to you so you have a copy.” Nathaniel isn’t one to come unprepared and as such remembered that it was requested they bring a copy of their schedules. “I will look forward to meeting with you about this and getting it all ironed out and begun.” And as for whether he can be adult about it all, he is fully capable and plans to be. His mission and work are not affected by what his father thinks of him and/or his girlfriend. The same is said in regards to Dr. Leland. She has not voiced her opinions upon he and Iris that he knows of and he respects that, but he’s aware that she’s suspicious of them. Yet again, this doesn’t how he feels about Iris nor his ability to get his work done. He’ll do what is best for the Asylum regardless of the personal interplay going between all of them. Besides he and Iris already have a wonderful track record. They are professional when needed and only distracted when they can afford to be.
Nathaniel goes back to perusing what is for their dining pleasure, though he doesn’t take his attention off the rest of the proceedings. He just chooses not to verbally comment on them. Though he thinks some uncouth ideas may be just want Arkham needs and again he hopes this will be a turning point for both Asylum and his father. He’s also taken by her attention to detail. The idea to formulate security for both daylight and nighttime conditions sounds ingenious and he for once is quite interested to see the results of such thorough examination. Yet if anyone knows the problem security areas it will his father and Dr. Leland. So he crosses his fingers.
For now, Nathaniel has no questions and is interested in hearing those of the others. He could be inspired then, but he himself is hoping the meetings will be productive and often. Working on this scale could take a while if not coordinated correctly, but if they are organized he can only imagine what Arkham could become in such a short amount of time.

Accepting the folio that Selina hands her, she smiles a little at her name on the front before she begins to idly thumb through its contents but making sure that it doesn't get so much of her attention that she'd miss what Selina is saying. "I'm sure that when we put our heads together we'll be able to get the rehabilitation programs both modernized and even better suited to our particular facility," she says confidently, "And yes, I brought my schedule." And she'd certainly need to - her schedule varies so widely from day to day that she'd be very lost very quickly without it.
When Nathaniel takes her hand, she can't help but smile - working on this with him will be especially delightful. And also perhaps a bit trickier than it could have been, considering the fact that working on a project of this magnitude together means that they'll have to spend a considerable amount of time together that does not turn into them distracting each other from work, as is their usual habit. Because Nathaniel really is that distracting. And her smile grows even bigger when she catches Selina's look - why, yes, she did somehow manage a truly excellent boyfriend, thanks.
Listening carefully to the rest as Selina's attention shifts more toward Dr. Arkham and Dr. Leland, Iris nods periodically. She's glad that she's not having to tackle the other areas - the more strictly security subjects are simply outside of what she was trained in and, while she's gotten accustomed to the asylum's procedures, she's certainly not to the point where she's prepared to offer up an opinion of how they could be improved when they don't relate to the direct well-being of the patients. And that they'll want to meet often is a given - there is so much overlap in the way that it's been divided up that there would be serious flaws if they tried to work on this more independently.
Even if that means that she'll have to see more of her boss and supervisor than she already does - she's not looking forward to that, but she'll manage. You don't have to like someone to work on a team with them, she has Nathaniel to help her deal with his father if need be, and she can handle working with Dr. Leland without help. It's simply a matter of acting like an adult about it.
When Selina asks for questions, Iris comments, "Honestly, this all seems to be pretty straightforward to me - all the questions that come to my mind are straight dives into the specifics." Which she isn't sure if Selina is ready to tackle here and now, so she simply says that much to see if she'll be encouraged or discouraged from asking them now.

His folio is much bigger than the others, but Jeremiah voices no surprise by that as he takes it from Selina with a grateful smile. He skims through it as she turns her attention to addressing Nathaniel and Iris. He chooses to not comment this time, but that doesn’t subtract his faith in them. Just by scanning his packet it seems he’ll be preoccupied enough as it is. There is an outline of every area in her tri-field system of updates. He’s also already aware that he will be meeting with her much more than the others and the packet makes it clear that he’ll be kept updated and that makes him smile once again as he flips through it.
If he is impressed by anything else than her business sense, it’s her personal sense. He knows she can sense the plethora of emotions and tensions that underlie the environment of the table. It is true that in their midst they had their disagreements, but Jeremiah can work through them. He can be professional and more than that, he is beginning to let go more and more as he sees just how happy his son is. If he had just one weakness it was his children. Nathaniel is now an adult, capable of his own decisions and Jeremiah can accept that. Or he can try. He can try to step back and stop being protective.
“Of course Dr. Leland and I would be happy to give you insight to help you figure out both system and person-wise what needs to be done,” he says looking up from the folio and nodding, “and uncouth ideas may be just want Arkham Asylum needs. After all it was an uncouth idea to even build it when my uncle Amadeus did so in the 1920s, but its services have become more and more in demand and I am ashamed to say it is a demand we have performed poorly. I believe a specialized firm such as yours whose only purpose is security and like is just what Arkham needs; you’re of course that Wayne Enterprises is very diversified.”
He then lets her speak to Joan and is further impressed by her insights. His smile as he continues looking into his folio reveals as much if anyone takes notice, but he doesn’t want to be rude and interrupt so he keeps his mouth shut and eyes on his own task until Selina is again addressing all of them. This he gives his full attention and finds himself pleased and in agreement at the appropriate moments.
He then decides to sample some of the appetizers, whetting his appetite to order something with more substance while he thinks over just what he’d like further explained.
