A conference run late, and a man left to clean up the files from a long day...not an uncommon event in the business end of Gotham. Any descent business man put many hours of work into his company. To keep it a float and to make sure the marketing is going as planned.
Though this wasn't your typical business man. And Nightwing knew this. And it bothered him. He had been tracking this guys moves for over a few months. The time was coming soon.
The team didn't understand what he had been up too. Pushing him further and further away from wanting to interact with them currently. Even as much so as to trigger a snap reaction from him, which led to a reaction rather than action from him.
Maybe the team was right on some levels. He had been pushing others away. Though his reasons lay so deep and layered. You could figure out on problem and find a solution, but it did not mean it would solve them all. And this case was just the thing to try and keep his mind off of everything. Or maybe not everything.
The words of the team and reactions of them at him all seemed to linger in his mind at times. Even Kory had been concerned for him lately. They tried to get away, but his mind always went back to it standard mode of isolation.
Shaking his mind from his thoughts, Nightwing watched the man below in the office. This company was relatively new to the Gotham and growing fast in the competition field. A little to fast, and it had caught Nightwing attention. He noticed the same pattern with a past company from Bludhaven. In the end, that company was exposed for what it truly was doing. Though the public knew little of this information. The police and some over head political runners of the town decided to cover it up. Something he knew that in Gotham a similar affair was going on.
Alexander Williams, a name well known from the business section. His name was growing in the market as well as the company name. Williams & Frederick, a company that manufactures technology that was used the latest classrooms, labs, and offices. A possible challenge to Wayne Enterprises, but they did not supply as much industry in ways. And the technology they had was limited in some ranges. Then there were was the planning section of the company. Technology not in the line for the public. Something that remained unknown to the public as well as most of the company.
Nightwing had done his homework. He knew of the branch companies that came back to this place. This one making a stand for itself as a pillar office, but not the head. And the intake and sales of the place reflected rather oddly in its records as Nightwing had noticed.
He had been watching from the outside, he had connections to the computer in that office and had bugged it as well. He knew every move that night. And tonight would be the warning. He had planned to do so a week or so earlier, but things had gone south when Arsenal had stepped in. It had taken another while of waiting to get to this point.
Determination was something Nightwing was known for. And he never threw a case to the side. Always keeping the information on file and keeping it up to date. And now he was in the running of the Batman's town again. The patrol time of the Outsiders was a perfect fit that night. Starfire with the Titans, Supergirl in Metropolis, and Arsenal possible out in some undercover work or even just a night out on the town. Luckily nowhere near this location. Nightwing had been planning this for several weeks making sure everything had run as planned.
The late meeting he knew was on the schedule. But there was another one that was scheduled for later and it wasn't on the company's list of meetings. Rather convenient considering there was a trading ship due to come in at the docks the next day.
Whether anyone else was paying this company as much attention as Nightwing was another question. There was a more ties than just his town. There was someone else Nightwing was sure he could pick up a lead on. A familiar face he rather see justice served to. A name not heard in years and still not spoken off on the streets beside of a possible death. Zucco. What that Nightwing's main reason or just one of many others?
And this was the main reason he was now on top of this building, waiting. Waiting for his chance to drop in. The rooftop he had all planned out. He knew where to enter and how to enter to get to where he wanted to be.

The business man, Williams was now taking another phone call. But this time on a personal cell phone. Nightwing played it out as if expected and tapped into that line as well. Listening to every word.
Now was his chance. he show his grapple line toward the roof of the building. Once it was hitched, he swung over toward the building. He released the line to lower him a bit. This made him level with an air-duct he was going to enter through.
It did not take him long before he was within the ducts and heading toward his target. He had a visual map on the one side view of his mask. This helped him get to the office he wanted to over look.
When he got there he could hear Williams voice outside of his ear piece. He climbed over to the duct to over look the office.
Williams looked nervous. And his voice showed it as well. The conversation was slightly coded. But it was easy enough to pick up it was on the safety of the company. And there was one other note Nightwing picked up on. Vigilante talk.
The man on the other line was covering up his voice, that was a given. Nightwing watched as the man paced below in his office. Almost like a lion watching its prey. He was waiting for the right moment.

(OOC: I've seen your posts, sorry If I can't keep up)
Nightwing was not the only one who was interested in this man, you'd have to be a fool not too investigate, or at least not a detective/vigilante, or at least not a vigilante who was lucky enough to catch a guy who worked for Williams, who knew something fishy was going on, taking drugs and got the info from him.
James Hunter was not a good detective, which was usually a necessary skill for a vigilante with no powers, but with a good enough clue he could at least follow common sense. He had snuck in at an earlier point and had planted some devices that would record sound and play them to his radio, he was listening to the conversation himself, he didn't seem to be getting much from it other than that Williams was pissing himself in fear about his company.
He needed to wait for a few minutes, until the time was right. He was holding a sniper rifle and was several hundred feet away, as soon as he had reason to, he would shoot. Hopefully this wouldn't take too long, he had a hot date later, well, by hot date he means feeding that cat that showed up at his house sometimes.

It wasn't much longer from there at it seemed the conversation went silent on Williams' end of the line. The voice on the other end taking full control of the situation. Knowing every detail and plan to come, though not giving much to the man in the office.
Then Williams had taken out a pen and pencil to write something down. And Nightwing didn't need to see the paper to know what was being said. With his tech and a little help from Batgirl, he had something that could hack into the signal of others phones. Something everyone in the Bat-family now had. It made it a lot easier to get both sides of the conversation rather than placing the words on the other end.
Nightwing hit a recording system on his mask to record the location. There was a meeting to take place outside Gotham Bay, and the meet up was with a ship for the Bludhaven Harbor. That would be in Nightwing's neck of the woods.
The conversation was quickly wrapping up after that. Very little said from Williams beside yes sir and agreeing to carry out the plans. But what were the plans? And who was leading this? Nightwing needed to find out more about Zucco's said involvement.
As Williams hung up on hit end of the line, Nightwing took full advantage of the tension dropping in the room. Williams would want to relax after a call like that. Within second, Nightwing busted through the ceiling ventilation. Dropping down onto the desk, Nightwing flipped and landed on his feet.
Remaining in a crocheted position, Nightwing glared at the man before him. "You have information I need. And you better talk fast," Nightwing said in a gritted tone.
"Who the hell are you?" Williams panicked over this intruder.
"I simply want information," Nightwing said as he grabbed Williams by the collar of his button down shirt. "Now tell me who is Kane?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said.
Nightwing then stood on the desk, lifting Williams out of his seat. "I know of your little operations with weapons. I want to know what this Kane has to do with it. You can answer me now, or I have my ways of getting you to talk," Nightwing said. He pulled out his one escrima stick as a threat. Activating the electric current through it, a blue spark came form both ends of it.
"They call him Zane Kane, he had connections to the Joker and some other no namer," Williams squawked.
"What does he have to do with the Joker," Nightwing pressed the subject. This was answering several other questions as to some chemical traces he had gotten from a lab scene in Bludhaven.

Night hunter saw him relax and prepared to shoot Williams, ending his life. But before he could Nightwing jumped down on him making Night Hunter stumble backwards in surprise and accidentally shot a flower vase next to Williams and Nightwing, as opposed to the man he was trying to kill. The sniper rifle made no sound, because of the silencer, but the window and the vase had smashed and made alot of noise, the damage had been done Crap, crap crap! He quickly packed up his rifle and tried to make his escape.

It had only been a matter of moments that Nightwing had been in the office. The questions had been asked. And a lot can happen in a matter of seconds.
During that time, the window shattered and a near by vase blew. That was an easy figuration to Nightwing. And he knew who the target was. Not one else would have known he was here.
And now this sniper had no idea what he had let himself in for. Nightwing didn't care who the person was. When it comes to justice, killing was not the way. Especially from a coward hit-man hired for a job. There were many out there though. Right then and there, Nightwing would not be able to tell who it was. Though could easily rule out Deathstroke.
Nightwing set the man down. "I'll be watching you," Nightwing grumbled over being interrupted in his investigation. He set Williams back in th chair and aimed his grappling line.
He was going to have to go after someone else now. Who would want Williams dead. Enough so to hire a hit-man.
Nightwing came swing out of the building from the broken window. And it didn't take him long to target a figure moving across the roof top. As soon as he shot off another line to get higher, he threw a few wingdings that were set to go off only moment before the figure would reach their location.
It would give him the chance to find out more. Nightwing's night vision was able to trace the figure easily. And his quick actions would play to his benefit.
And now days of work was down the drain.

(OOC: I may have misinterpreted the third to last paragraph, the one where Nightwing throws the Wingdings)
Did Night hunter mention crap? Because if he didn't then Crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap... there was practically one for every step he took. He did not prepare for another vigilante, especially not the goddamn Nightwing! Do people call him that? They should, it's a really coo- His internal monologue was rudely interrupted by a bunch of wingdings exploding behind him and sending him flying. He hit the wall with a thud and slid down it in a comedic fashion, he stood up and took out two handguns, with one he shot the wire Nightwing was using, with the other he tried to shoot Nightwing himself, but not to kill him, only to injure him so he could get away.

Nightwing had used his line-gun to grapple across to the next highest building. He'd get the drop on the assassin the best he could. Though by the looks of it the man had figured rather quickly that the vigilante would came after him right away.
There was no way the assassin would have known the vigilante had been on Williams' tail. It had been all leads he was going on. And on this case, it was harder to tie in why Nightwing would be following them.
Nightwing could see the guy pulling out the guns. That was an easy factor for protection. It was rather funny that the crooks thought they could take out such heavy duty cabling with just a bullet. This was the same stuff that Batman had upgraded to. Which meant there was really only one known substance that would cut through the cable. That was another advantage to being in the bat-family.
Though the other shots were aimed at him. Nightwing pulled on the line to add tension. This gave him the tension he needed to react and get the chance to twist out of the way. Acrobatics in the air were Nightwing's specialty.
This caused him to go out of sight for a moment.
Nightwing had managed in that time to land overhead on the wall above where the assassin crashed into. This would work to his advantage. Throwing two wingdings to knock the guns out of the assassins hands.
As soon as they were down, he dropped down from the rooftop and landed several feet away. This would prevent any chance of getting knocked down by the assassin. Though Nightwing wasn't going to give him that chance.
He made a quick move to grab the assassin by the collar and pin him up to the wall. "Who are you working for," Nightwing growled.
Nightwing was definitely in a fowl mood now because of the lose of work he had to face tonight. He'd be lucky if he didn't end up back at square one for this interruption in his work.

James knew a bad situation when he saw one, he was more used to causing bad situations for other people, like a bullet in the head, but he still could recognize one when he himself was in one and you'd have to be pretty strong or pretty arrogant to not count facing down Nightwing as a bad situation. His guns were knocked out of his hands by two wingdings that caught him by surprise, although Night Hunter knew well what followed weapons only used by certain vigilantes, the vigilantes who used those weapons, he braced himself for Nightwing to drop down from above, only for said vigilante to land several feet away ...oh, never mind. James was pinned against the wall and asked who he worked for. Who he worked for? That was hilarious! Work for somebody? I didn't think you where a comedian, you trying to be the next Joker? I only work for three people: me, myself and I! he looked at the Vigilante with amusement in his eyes as if this was a game for him, he wasn't even trying to break free,

"Then what reason do you have trying to take out one of the heads of that corporation over there," Nightwing said in a stern tone.
It wasn't likely he'd get a straight answer. Unless that really was the way this guy played. Taking this as some kind of sick game.
A price could be set on a lot of heads out there. And Williams wasn't exactly a top runner out there in this town. Sure he was mentions in a few towns to be concerned over. But that was for business men, not scum.
And this was not the time to joke around with Nightwing, not when he had been getting more information. Info. he needed toward his case.

James Hunter chuckled, this guy was funny "Why were you hacking his phone? Why were you questioning him? Was it because you thought something was dodgy about him? Now I could be helpful but I need to leave now" he swiftly raised his arms and tore off his collar, he then slid under Nightwing's legs and swiftly turned around, taking out an AK47 and firing it, aimed at Nightwing's kneecaps in the hope of stopping him from giving chase, without killing him though. If he succeeded he would blow Nightwing a kiss and dissapear over the rooftop. If he failed he would probably still try to run.

This guy was quickly becoming a pain in the neck over turning his questions back at him. And taking this all as a joke.
It was then that the guy slide away, slightly with easy. Then again, he should rethink the matters of the case. This was Nightwing an experienced vigilante. Someone who had taken down more dangerous than this assassin.
The wise cracks and response to his actions, was giving Nightwing all the more reason to keep on his tail. You don't just try to take out a vigilante thinking you would be the one to end the conversation.
Nightwing moved quicker than the assassin had in response. Not a slick move to pull out a gun. Nightwing dodged off to the side. His acrobatic abilities taking his natural line as he seemed to vanish from sight for a moment. A wingding came flying in the assassin's direction before he had gotten out of the way. Aimed to knock the gun out of the man's hands.
Nightwing was off to the far side neath the rooftop water tower. He shot off a cable that with two balls attached at different ends. This would wrap around the man's legs if he was still within the same frame. And Nightwing was going to give chase.
You don't distract the hunter from his prey, otherwise you would become the new target.

Night Hunter was in serious trouble, he had been disarmed and a cord flew at his legs. He quickly jumped over the cord with amazing speed and came down in a roll, taking out a smoke bomb and setting it off. He jumped off the side of the building under the cover of the smoke and landed on a fire escape, he then jumped off the side to the wall of the opposite building, he bounced off this and grabbed a window sill to stop his fall. He was now close enough to the ground to just jump down and he broke in a run, his motorcycle was parked in an alley just a few buildings away and if he got to it he would be able to escape.

Ok, correction...this guy was becoming more than just a pain! Nightwing watched this guy squirm more than a worm does. Go figure, considering he didn't want to get caught.
At this time, he had gained Nightwing's undivided attention. Definitely not a good thing for this assassin. Nightwing wasn't an easy one to shake off your trail.
So, the guy had managed to avoid the cables. Though Nightwing has already disarmed the suspect several times. His aim accurate and this worked to his advantage.
Ok, so now was the time to step it up maybe. The man jumped off the building landing on a fire escape. The smoke bomb had done little to distract him as he went around the area of the building using his line gun cable to swing off the main building they had been on.
Alright, now the guy was on the ground and running. Nightwing had the advantage as he stayed to the rooftops. Using his line gun to swing and stay out of sight.
Just like that...it had gone silent. No movement could be traced over head or tailing the guy. This would allow the allusion that he had gone off else where. Nightwing was tailing him now. Stay a step ahead. Planning and watching. Knowing the first move a crook would make would be for an escape, more than likely a get away vehicle.

Night Hunter knew the instincts of a hunter well, so well that he had named himself as one, so he knew that when he arrived at the motorcycle that Nightwing would strike so when James arrived at his motorcycle rather than getting on it he took out his sniper rifle and waited, pointing it at where Nightwing should be and waiting for him to try and strike so he could strike him while he is striking, a strike strike if you will. But what if Nightwing tried a strike strike strike? All Night Hunter knew is that his head hurt now.
