"And that's how and why the Aztecs did the whole ritual sacrifice thing." Victor was in what was possibly his favorite shop ever. It always had some historical item in it that he would love to buy. Needless to say he had become a regular of the shop and would on occasion share some information with the shop keeper about some item that caught his attention. Today he just happened to buy an Aztec dagger that was reported to have some mystical meaning to the Aztecs. Though Victor didn't put any stock into that hogwash.
He looked over his shoulder and realized that he was holding up the line. "Well I guess I oughta get going." He said before saying his farewells and wrapping the dagger back up in the paper wrap the shop keeper had given him. As he walked to the door he noticed someone was buying a M1 Garand "If you're gonna load that, make sure to get your thumb out quick." He commented in passing.
Victor left the building and started to walk down the street and heading back to his apartment. He had managed to make a deal with his landlord that. Within reason, Victor could keep weapons in his apartment. But they couldn't be weapons such as firearms or the like. But he could buy historical items and what not. But then again it was somewhat expected of him to some extent.

The Aztec civilization was filled with mysticism and folklore that mortals now a days would find to be complete nonsense but James knew other wise and he knew that somewhere in this city there was magical sacrificial dagger that had the power to bring back the souls of the undead.
In the hands of a mortal the knife would not activate unless they had some sort magical power inside of them. James searched a few shops for the knife until he came up to a shop where he heard a sales clerk said how they had finally sold that creepy Aztec Knife.
"Excuse me my good man but may I ask who you sold that knife to?" James said while standing invisibly behind the man. The man jumped a little then he turned over and began to talk "woah scared me there now how can I help...." the man trailed off as he saw no one behind him "Did you hear that?" "Yeah but we're did it come from there is no one here" both men said to each other. James materialized in front of the two men sending a big chill down their spines.
"G..G..GGGHH...GGHHHOOOOST." both men screamed when they saw James. "Now, now no need to be scared now we just need to talk about a certain knife you sold today"

Victor eventually made it back to his apartment and placed his fedora on the counter in the kitchen. Then he made his way over to the coffee table and set the dagger on it and sat down to look at it. It wasn't everyday he saw a real Aztec dagger in person and not on tv or the internet. He picked it up in his hands and turned it over looking it over in greater detail.
He saw it had some writing on it. He couldn't tell what it said, all he could tell was that it was Aztec. He had seen it enough to tell what it was, but not enough to read it, and in all honesty he never thought he would., so far he had been right about that. After spending abit more time looking it over he set it back down on the rag that was used to wrap it and then he made his way to his room so he could grab the new text book the University was making him use for his teaching. So far the textbook had been ok, though he still wasn't going to be using much material out of it, granted he would still stay on topic but he mostly ad libbed. He had no clue that the dagger he had possessed any supernatural traits. After all, there was nothing to prove that there was, so he wasn't inclined to think that.

James began once more to talk about the dagger they had sold "I ask you one more time... Who... Has... My...DAGGER!?!?!" he demanded. "I...I'm so..soor...sorry" said the clerk shaking before getting a little more courage to talk normally "but we can't tell you who bought that dagger, it's against company policy" he said with just a little bit of fright in his tone.
"Oh I am so terribly sorry if it's company policy then I guess I can respect that and leave..." he said sarcastically before switching his tone to a darker note "WHO DO YOU TAKE ME FOR, SOME SORT OFF FOOL?" James angrily said "I don't care about your stupid policy I just want my Dagger" he added calmly when he saw the two men almost began to cry "Now lets have some fun before I get the information out of both off you."
James summoned his cane and pointed it to a little jade dragon statue sitting on the table. His cane began to glow purple as a beam of magical energy went flying out hitting the dragon and bringing it to life. "Now you have exactly two minutes to tell me who has my artifact before I send my little pet here on a wild rampage all over this store."
The tiny dragon which stood almost ten inches high began to circle the two men while letting out tiny embers from the inside of his mouth. "Ok ok I'll talk" said the clerk "We sold it to a guy by the name of Victor Grant, he has the dagger now." "Now isn't that much better" said James "Well gentlemen thank you for your cooperation now I leave you." he said as he bowed and began to float away.
"Oh before I forget" Gentleman Ghost began to say "I can't have any heroes know that I'm here so you guys will have to die." with those words Jim cast a spell on the tiny dragon making him grow until he stood six feet tall "Burn the place Down" Craddock ordered as he passed through the door. Not before long James saw a bright light behind him and heard the sirens of fire engines in the distance. "I don't know who you are, or what you want, but mark my words Victor Grant I will find you and I will get my dagger back. Now come my Pet" Jim said as the Jade Dragon walked out of the burning building "Go and find this Victor Grant and when you do....KILL HIM" the dragon then left James side and wondered off into the night letting off a loud Roar.

Later that night Victor decided to go to his office at the University. He was planning to stay home but decided that it'd be best if he went and checked to see what the school had on the Aztecs. he was planning on using the dagger as a prop in his class when he talked about the rituals. Granted he wasn't going to actually do anything, he was just going to pantomime it all.
He had hopped in his car and drove his way to the University and made his way to his office. When he got in he shuffled through his keys a few times and then opened the door and entered his office. He sat in the chair and placed his fedora on his desk before rummaging through his desk. When he didn't find anything referring to Aztecs in his desk he wasn't all to surprised. This dagger was the first Aztec based item he had ever bought. He picked it up off his lap and unwrapped it to give it a look. Then he sat it down on the desk and moved over to rummage through his bookshelves. He wanted to make sure there was nothing in his office first before he went anywhere else on the campus. Better to just keep his mess in one place then bring it all across the campus.
