It was the middle of the night and Dr. Leland left the staff break room to the sound of a scream shortly followed by some maniacal laughter somewhere down the hall. None but the very newest of the staff paid it any attention. It was just part of the background noise to the Asylum and they were thankful it was as quiet as that. No escape attempts had so far been spotted, most of the patients were mercifully at least asleep, the Asylum was as peaceful as it got.
Joan was working a combination of night and early shift for the week to keep an eye on some of the newer patients and handle a small mountain of paperwork that was threatening to take over her desk. Working by night was good for paperwork, less distractions and a small change of pace didn't go amiss. With the general lack of supervisors up to deal with she may have even preferred the hour, if only her regular patients weren't all asleep, which was at least part of the reason she was still doing mornings.
Sipping from her newly acquired coffee Joan offered a vague wave to a couple of guards who were patrolling the hall and carried on past back towards her office. No need for ID this time, the vast majority of the guards already knew who she was.

That was the night he would execute his plan. Jason had been working on that for a while now, and he was sure everything would go smoothly. Still, it was kind of a test-run for future hits on bigger targets, especially since there weren’t many of them being currently held in Arkham, so he’d settle for the smaller ones now. Well, some of his marks for tonight weren’t exactly small, more like less-known. Anyway.
While half-carrying and half-having strapped to himself the unconscious villain, Jason made his way to Arkham’s building, avoiding all of the security with a little loop-inducer, some knowledge of their tech placement and agile use of steel lines. Didn’t take him long. He had prepared a special jammer and installed it in his helmet this time as well, which would blur cameras when the loop wasn’t being used. That was hardly the only extra precaution, as Jason had basically read up on every inmate from the entire block he’d be entering, meaning his current equipment and armor choice was the best possible combination to effectively take out any of them if anything didn’t go as expected. But of course, everything would. Using some of Bruce’s personal techniques, he quickly got in through an office window, keeping to the shadows on the ceiling and corners and silently stalking the guards as they made their way through the halls. The inmates were quite loud - even with most of them asleep - and he had the strange certainty that if for any reason he had to spend too much time in there, he’d kill all of them, plan or no plan.
Finally the vigilante spotted a doctor, whom he obviously didn’t know, analyzing her for a moment. The woman was kind of hot, and that was as good as any other factor since he hadn’t really cared about that part, and Red Hood decided it’d be her. He followed the woman back to her office, waiting until all security had moved elsewhere before dropping behind her without a sound. – “Good night. Brought some trash.” – Maybe that freaked her out, but just once he wanted to see what Batman’s sudden shadowy serious appearances were all about.

Joan startled at the voice behind her and swung round to stare at the vigilante who seemed to have appeared from nowhere. Why was it they all seemed able to do that? One moment you're alone, the next you've got a masked man behind you. Weirdly it was actually comforting to see the unconscious guy with him, it brought memories of Batman to mind. This however was clearly not Batman but the process was very familiar.
She handles it surprisingly well, getting over the initial shock quickly, with no attempt to call the guards back though she gives Red Hood a disapproving look for sneaking up on her before she, somewhat hesitantly leans over to check the unconscious guy is definitely still alive and questions while she's at it "Who are you and who's he?" she doesn't recognise either and it makes her a little wary but still she steps out the way of the door to her office "You'd better bring him in" she was very aware that the guards would be back around in a couple of minutes and they wouldn't be so friendly. Until she knows what's going on she at least sticks by the door and keeps the nice hot cup of scolding coffee to hand though she'd definitely be running rather than fighting.

It was awesome, actually. The way she just turned around on a full-arc like they had rehearsed it, and her cautiousness as she checked the guy he’d brought, he would definitely try this “suddenly showing up behind people” thing more often.
“I don’t bite, don’t worry.” - He didn't finish the already-cliché phrase with an idiotic "unless you want me to" or "...too hard", though. Jason did no sudden movements as the good doctor looked over his unconscious burden, not because he feared the hot coffee, or the security for that matter, but because the plan did not involve any sort of harm coming to her or the rest of the staff. Maybe the security, but those guys had it coming. In any way, he was more than confident in his abilities to make that happen – and why wouldn’t he be? Red Hood was the very best hero Gotham had to offer. – “Name’s Red Hood. And this guy… I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Lester Buchinsky – the Electrocutioner. This is a new one taking up the mantle, and frying people back at beloved East. Haven’t IDed him yet.” – That loser’s powers were exactly what he needed, and the special drug cocktail he’d received – that were not only highly untraceable and related to some illegal substances, but would obviously be long gone when anyone got around to working on his body - would ensure he only used it the way the vigilante needed him to. Jason followed the lady inside, making sure to keep a good amount of distance between them so she wouldn’t worry too much, and dropped his luggage on the floor without a care in the world. He wasn’t pretending not to be the Red Hood, after all, and pretending to give a damn about the guy’s well-being was frankly asking a little too much. – [I’m not made of steel, right?]
“He’s… Dangerous. I’d like to stick around until he’s behind bars. Or glass. And this is my first time, don’t know the procedures we should be going through here…” – There was an apologetic tone in his voice, like he didn’t know if they should make cryptic small talk or trade philosophical one-liners like Gordon and Bruce, or if there was some mandatory flirting or something like that. As he waited, a small light went on inside the “hood”, indicating they had from five to ten minutes before everything started officially. Jason tightened his jaw for a moment, knowing he was ready.
