The East Side showed little to no growth through all these years. In some ways, the businesses that still manage to stay afloat even with the crime rate were stuck back in the twenties. They didn’t have money to buy new fancy technology or furniture. Besides, their clientele would be unlikely to notice such remodels.
They also became use to break-ins, so when the old Italian business owner went to open up his worn out diner on 19th street, he paid no mine to the large green spray painted arrow on the window of his restaurant. He opened the door and saw more paint. There next to the boom box that only played a song for sixteen cents was the words painted on his wall.
