What are you doing Charlie? Seriously, it was a stretch. But she was there, feet on the edge as she looked down. Isn't this what superheroes do though? Help people? It was a matter of using her mind and her body, and as a fifteen year old it seemed seriously unlikely that focus could be possible. It was going to have to do, because if her mother was here right now it would be a gripped ear and grounding for a weak. "What the hell are you doing Charlie? You could get killed". But Charlie knew better. She didn't know her limits, but she knew that if she wanted too, she could do this. Her mother thought she was asleep, but she obviously was oblivious to the tendencies of a teenager. Bed time means you go to your room, and go to bed at atleast two or three o'clock, on facebook or shopping on Ebay. But Charlie decided to bounce to Gotham City, like she did most nights and learn the ropes. But 'learning the ropes' it involves watching heroes at action, and she had seen some really crazy stuff. But finally it has come, and it is just down this alleyway.
A mugger. The woman screamed, slapping and scratching like a savage but then he hit her, straight in the abdomen and the girl was lowering to the ground, gasping for air. In the darkness Charlie squinted to see, but she had to do something. Wearing a navy cardigan with a black singlet shirt, her grandmother's necklace and blue jeans and vans, she obviously didn't look like the dark crusader. But it was a start, the casual teen teleporting into an alley to help a woman. What could go wrong? Taking a breath, she drew it out slowly as she closed her eyes, trying to gain some confidence. "I can do this. Yeah, it's cool. I'm - a superhero?". She seemed as unsure as she could and then stepped off of the edge.
The wind turned cold as she fell through it, her blonde hair whipping upwards as she fell through the sky. The buildings were blurred in front of her as she dropped down the side. Her heart was racing and understandably, she was starting to panic. But with bouncing, strength which made her much more energetic and sly and the power to heal cuts in a few bounces, she should feel more better about this. She was gulping down a breath, and closed her eyes. Pink light emulated from her body in an instant as she blew up. Pink smoke mushroomed in the air as Charlie bounced, and found herself appearing next to the man in midair. On instinct, she fetal-shifted her body and bunched her feet up. She just kicked out her feet, stomping on the man from the side as dust clouded off of her shoes and pink smoke swirled around her in mid air. She landed on her side, feeling a graze on her arm from the landing as she heard the guy smash into a pile of trashcans, the banging of stingy metal hitting the ground as he groaned in pain.
It worked! Holy shit she did it! Call her Ms Marvel now, she had this down pat. Yeah, a graze on her arm but whatever, she just smacked a criminal down and done. The woman grabbed her bag and stumbled herself out of the alley as Charlie rose to her feet, glancing back at the woman. Raising both hand in an irritated state, she sighed. "Your welcome lady!". She rolled her eyes as she turned back to the guy, and luckily just in time. A gasp escaped her mouth as she quickly shot back, caving her figure to avoid the trash-can lid that was swung at her and dodged it just by a bit. Landing on her feet again, she was shocked and was jaw-dropped, looking from her figure and up at the criminal.
"What the hell!?". It was a swing and a miss anyway, but it was just - rude. The guy wasn't giving up and swung it again. What, fists weren't enough? He didn't want to touch the freak who bounced in and knocked his daylights out. She wasn't playing anymore, and the guy swung it back at her. She acted on instinct, what every hero needs and as the lid shot back at her, she did what she could. She swung back, feeling the air displacement of the discing lid as she bent her back to dodge it, but followed through. One leg after another after the first time in her life, she did a handspring. The following foot kicked him across the face slightly, stunning him for a second as Charlie flipped up to her feet, and with a smile on her face. How cool!
What she didn't anticipate lower attacks though. He stomped low as she felt his foot hit her stomach, sending the air out of her. She grunted as she bowed and heard the lid hit the ground. He obviously didn't need it, he was going to fight like a man. A thirty-something year old against a fifteen year old girl, almost comedic. Before she could do anything, he basically drop kicked her face. As it hit, a squeal escaped Charlie's mouth as he head swung back, and she staggered sideway and hit the wall's piping, gripping onto it for balance. Yeah, this hero thing was definitely hitting a glitch. But she had to hold on. Raising a leg, she swung it high as she turned to face him and kicked the guy across the face, disorienting him as his head swung to the side and she faced him and at the same time, her hand gripped his throat and his dirty digits gripped around hers. She felt him charge her into the wall as she squeezed in on his Adam's apple, and he tried his best her hurt her as she looked at him with a mixture of fear - and pure hatred!
