Shawty sighs in exasperation at Dr. Stenet, "Look, I can tell I'm not helping. And you need help. So is there anyone else who knows about this already I could call? Because if there isn't, I'm going to have to tell someone."
Nina frowns. She doesn't want to talk to anyone about this. She just wants to be left alone. But she knows that if she doesn't give Shawty something, her assistant will carry out her threat. Better to just answer. "Selina," she mutters.
"Then how do I call her?" Shawty prompts, feeling that at least this sounds somewhat like progress. Or at least it's going sideways instead of backwards.
Nina sighs quietly - she doesn't want to talk to Selina either, but again she knows that Shawty won't let her refuse. "My cellphone," she replies, her voice cracking.
Shawty knows why - it's the cellphone Mr. Nigma gave her. Anything that reminds Dr. Stenet of the man makes her boss even more upset. But by this point, she just ignores Dr. Stenet's reaction and grabs the cellphone off of the nightstand and takes it into the main room of the apartment so she can call this 'Selina' without Dr. Stenet having to listen in.
Thumbing through the contacts, she finds whoever this 'Selina' is and calls the number. She can only hope that the woman is willing to help and is better at this than she is. Or that the two of them can come up with something, because... seriously...
"Hello, is this Selina?" she asks the woman who picks up the phone, "This is Shannon Morrison, Dr. Nina Stenet's assistant - call me Shawty. I'm calling because... well, it seems that Mr. Nigma and Dr. Stenet have... parted ways. And Dr. Stenet is... Well, I need help with her. She's not taking it very well. At all."

The one time she decided to go out post-China, post-FBI, and her phone doesn't stop buzzing at her. And it was her personal line-not her 'criminal' one. There was no way to put it as a 'business' line, considering..she always did business. But even as she was stalking the late night, or even early morning it was starting to irritate her. Even those that -knew- her, knew she was rarely awake at 8am.
So instead of stopping, and perching to answer her phone she waited. Until she had stretched, showered, and settled down with a cup of tea. It seemed she'd need to extend her hours today. And much to her luck, the phone rang again. Not bothering to glance at the ID, she answered it with no inflection either way. No excessive, mock cheer, no moodiness.
Shannon Morrison? The name rang no bell; and Selina was quite acquainted with most names in Gotham. The next bit rang home, finally. Nina. And Eddie. SHIT. As her forehead hit her palm, Jasper mewed at her almost comically.
Of course Nina wouldn't take it easy. It's Nina. And she was with...Edward. Of all people. Shit. Rubbing at one of her eyes, there is a few seconds pause as Selina takes a sip of her still very hot peppermint tea. She might as well switch to coffee at this point. Or go and grab some with Nina. As her mind is turning over different ideas; she realises she could actually go somewhere than some crap-hole diner with Nina. Not that she doesn't love those sorts of eateries..but..
“Are you comfortable with filling me in on the details, Shawty, or would it be better to meet in person?"
When Selina listens for a minute or two, she gracefully cuts off Nina's assistant, and states she'll be over in a few minutes. Even if Shawty declines to give Selina the address, it doesn't take her long to run a cross check to pinpoint the address. Raising a brow, she shifts the address to her phone, and sets it down on her desk, while continuing to sip at her tea.
“Well, Jasper. I guess I'm off to brunch.” Setting down her cup she punches another number into her phone, and places an order for pickup. Breakfast items, pastry, and a bottle of bubbly. It's a swift change into a pair of fashionable jeans, and a shirt, a relaxed, yet still put together look she has going on. A few baubles, a pair of knee-high boots, and Selina is hailing a cab, off to pick up the food items, and soon to knock on Dr. Stenet's door.
Hopefully, it won't be as bad as she thinks it is.

Shawty's explanation of the situation comes just as haphazardly as her greeting. No, she doesn't really want to explain further over the phone, and she doesn't really know many of the details herself anyway since Dr. Stenet is so reluctant to talk to her about it. And when she says that she needs help it's definitely the sort that would require Selina's presence - she can't even get Dr. Stenet out of bed at this point. She's helped friends through messy break-ups before, but this is... something else. Everything she says seems to just make it worse. So when Selina asks for the address, she doesn't hesitate to give it. Dr. Stenet wouldn't have given her the woman's name if she wasn't someone at least somewhat trustworthy.
The diminutive young woman paces through the front room of the apartment, as the last place she wants to go at the moment is into the bedroom again. So when there's finally a knock on the door, she's quick to open it with a look of intense relief on her face. "Oh, thank god!" she says, quickly waving Selina inside. And she nods quickly to herself when she sees the food that the woman has - not something she thought of, and perhaps that might help. "She's in there," she says, waving a hand in the direction of the open doorway to the bedroom, "And all I know is that yesterday afternoon I took her to the asylum to visit Mr. Nigma - I waited in the car - and when she came back she looked... blank. And she told me that he never wants to see her again. But she didn't want to talk about it, so I just took her home. When I called her this morning she wouldn't answer, so I came here and I found her like that. She hasn't moved since. And honestly I just don't know what to do with her at this point - she'll hardly talk to me." Helplessness is not a feeling that Shawty is accustomed to feeling, but she's definitely feeling it now. She may be able to take down men twice her size, but she can't do a thing with Dr. Stenet.
Nina is laying on the bed, curled into a ball. She'd kicked her shoes off at some point, but otherwise she's still wearing the same clothes that she was when she was talking to Edward yesterday. Her eyes stare blankly at the empty wall in front of her face. And though she's not crying now, she's done plenty of that if the streaks on her face are any indication.
