Victor was at Gotham State University. He was there to get a few pictures of the University and of the Dean. It was to go with the article in the paper about some new plans that the University had. Victor didn't really care about it all that much. He loved universities and colleges and the like. He was just not the biggest fan of the heavily over-used sayings that the paper used so often.
He was standing outside the Dean's office he was having to wait for the Dean to finish what ever it was that he was doing at the time. He didn't know what he was doing all he knew was that he was here to get pictures and a tour.
He started pacing back and forth watching people walk by. He was wearing his usual outfit of a pair of jeans a button up shirt and his WWII era German trench coat. He also had his ever present glasses. He smiled at the fact that no one noticed that his hair was grey despite him being so young. He always enjoyed how ignorant people could be. But he didn't say anything. He just paced back and forth in the hall holding his camera and waiting...... Always waiting.

It had been a long night. And now it was turning into a long day. Nightwing had been down on the streets and took on quite the group of thugs last night. There had to have been about twenty that struck almost at once. Though nothing Nightwing couldn't handle. Even if most of them were the muscle heads of the gang.
But after taking them down, it wasn't the number of men that attacked him that took a lot of energy to take on, it was taking them down at the same time while being fired at. It had been one of those nights. At the least, he had brought down the gang and taken down ten of the ring leaders in on this operation. It had still taken over a good half hour to strike though.
If Batman had been there....he would have had something to say about that. Nightwing had tried to take a surprise attack. And after taking down the muscle, it had been sneaking up on the ring leaders that hadn't gone as planned. But when things don't go to plan, you wing it.
Then Dick had remembered he still had classes to attend to that morning and a meeting with the dean. He had made it tot classes in time. And the meeting with the dean was over nothing important. Dick had kept his grades up and made it on the dean's list. No big deal. It was just kind of checking up on what is going on at the school.
After the meeting was over, Dick was glad to finally be able to have the afternoon off. There was some work he wanted to look into. And he was hoping to maybe catch Kory if he got the chance later in the day.
Dick grabbed the backpack he had been carrying with him that had his motorcycle helmet attached to it. There were very few books he needed that day, but it was easier that trying to find a place to put his helmet for the day. The weather was surprisingly warm for late winter, so he took advantage of this to wear a plan grey t-shirt and a pair of old jeans.
As he walked out into the hall, he spotted what he thought of a journalist. He saw the camera and the impatiences of the man. Dick wasn't overly thrilled at the sight of anyone who worked for the paper. But he was never rood to the people. And he gave them a chance to see what they were like before he decided it was best to avoid those people.
But the dean had asked him to give a message to the man in the hall, and Dick could only figure this was the guy he was talking about. The dean had been running around his office all morning with more appointments to go through. He wondered if he mayor was that busy.
"Um...Are you Victor Grant," Dick asked out to the man pacing the hall to get his attention.
If Dick had a choice, he would have just walked by and left. But he had to pass on the message. The dean was so overwhelmed at that time. And he didn't mind passing along the message. "The Dean wanted to know if you wouldn't mind moving the appointment to later this afternoon about three or so. He's kind of got swamped with a last minute report to file and a few other things," Dick informed him of what he had been told.

Victor stopped pacing and turned to look at who called his name. "Ok thanks. I got enough picture's in my opinion but the paper insists that its not nearly enough." He said offering a kind smile. Then he frowned when he noticed something.
"Do I know you?" He asked. "I swear I've seen your face around." He hoped that he wasn't intruding into his thoughts at all. He just couldn't shake the feeling that he knew this person. Or at least know of him. He had the feeling that the name was just on the tip of his tongue. He always hated that feeling. "See........ Someone-or-another Grayson?" He asked snapping his fingers.

Dick was glad he had been correct on the guy's name. He didn't really care too much for the awkward conversation of trying to get away from someone you thought was the person you were looking for. He figured though that this should be the guy.
After all there weren't too many other people pacing outside the dean's office on a daily bases. Except for the administration that kept hounding him with complaints against the school or something like that. Though reports weren't as often. Only more toward the public events.
Dick watched the man as the smile quickly turned into a frown after his words. He wasn't quite sure why. But he was about to find out with the next question. And then he realized what the man had been puzzling over.
He wasn't too fond of people pulling something like this. But it could be quite often since he lives in Gotham and everyone knows of Bruce Wayne. And if they didn't, they must be living underneath a rock. Dick had been in the spotlight quite a few times when he had been younger and when he had attended more of the charity parties Bruce held.
But now a days, it was seldom that he was in the news along side of any story to do with Wayne. Dick was on his own and preferred it that way. Not having any news reporters hounding him for a story. But it didn't seem to stop the papers from mentioning him every now and again. Dick just preferred to not look at the papers as much.
"You probably have," Dick answered. But he did not let his negative feelings towards running into some reports project at all. He knew how to act around people. And he did give people a chance before they gave him any reason to turn the situation sour.
And he watched as the man tried to figure out his name. With little success beside remembering his last name, Dick decided to at least inform the man of his name, rather than leaving him with the thought of someone-or-another,
"It's Richard 'Dick' Grayson," he said, knowing fully well the papers never mentioned him by his nickname. Only those close to him did, But he did say it in there to invite the man to not call him Richard. Dick wasn't a huge fan of being called by his really name.
Besides, Richard was too formal to go by it seemed. The only people who got away with making up more nicknames for him were his family or closest friends.
"So Mr. Grant, what else exactly does the paper expect you to do if you have enough pictures," Dick asked politely to continue the conversation a bit.

"Oh right that's your name. Sorry if I offended you at all."Victor said after Dick said is name. And then he chuckled. "I don't think you understand. I think I have enough pictures. The PAPER doesn't. And they are apparently having a hard time or something. They didn't really fill me in. But they won't pay me if I don't get enough pictures. I only need three more and I'm not sure if they'll like three more pictures of the buildings." He looked at the camera then around the hall. "Oh I'm a freelance by the way. If that clears anything up."
Victor looked the guy over. 'Richard 'DIck' Grayson. Wasn't he with that Wayne guy......... His protegee or something?' He asked himself but didn't bother to voice that question. He figured that he heard enough about that.
He then thought about where he was going to patrol tonight as Wulfen. He tried not to patrol the same area two nights in a row. He felt it kept anyone he went up against on their toes. So far it worked rather well. He was still alive after all.

"No, it's quite all right," Dick replied waving it off. Everyone wasn't expected to remember his name. He tried to stay out of the spot light. Less attention made it easier for him to go about with his work.
He listened to the man explain a bit more about what the paper wanted. "Ah, I see. Have you gone around to come of the older buildings on campus? I mean there are several place that are over looked, but some of the students still use as a hang out or study at," Dick replied.
Honestly, Dick quite liked the older buildings and small hang outs around the campus. Though he did have little time to actually go there. But he could remember many if times going to meet up with people there. Or when he was younger and he and Bruce had actually spent some time together and this often was more of walk and talk about the history of Gotham. Or of the building. More so to know the area and learn to use what was around to their advantage on patrols.
Dick gave a slight smile at the guys clarification of what his job was. "That's good to know. I was afraid you were one of those journalist out snooping for a story," Dick joked, "Not that I have anything against all journalists, but I don't rather care for their methods of going about and making news for the papers to report on."
Dick looked at the camera the man was holding. It looked like a rather nice quality of gear to be using as a freelancer. "So I take it the dean was going to help you out with that a bit in getting the pictures you needed," he asked.

"No I haven't. I've kinda been in a hurry." Victor said glancing at his camera. "I guess that they would go over well with the paper." He said after a moments thought. He shifted back and forth on his feet trying to think about what the odds were that he would ever get the job he went to school for.
"What's funny is that I actually was gunning for a job here." He said. "That's why I took those history and speech classes." He said with a lopsided grin.
Then he noticed the helmet and trying to make small talk he said. "So you got a motorcycle?" He said pointing at the helmet.

"Can't blame you there. Gotham University isn't exactly a small campus in this town," he commented. He had lived on campus at one point, but didn't care for the living arrangements. That and it didn't work out well when you were a vigilante at night.
He looked at Victor. "Are you still in any of the classes," Dick asked. He felt a bit stupid asking the question, but he was a bit confused as to what the guy meant by. He just wondered if it was current.
"There are probably a few openings now that the FBI are finally gone. And I'm sure some of the staff is leaving after all that," Dick replied.
His attention was then drawn to another subject with a new question subject. Dick saw he was looking at the helmet attacked to his bag. "Uh, yeah. Easier than driving a car around here," Dick replied.

Victor shook his head and said. "I went to college in Seattle. It was on a scholarship. I wanted to get a job teaching here but I had to settle with this." He said lifting the camera.
"I might have to try again since you made it sound like there are openings." He said then he looked at the pictures on his camera making sure that they were still there. He had accidentally deleted pictures in the past and he didn't want to do it again. He came across a picture he took of Kory in the park a few days ago.
Then trying not to be rude he looked back at Dick. "Sorry making sure they were still there. I guess a motorcycle would be easier......... I tend to just walk or use public transportation." He laughed at that comment. "Let me tell you its not fun."

Dick listened to the man all the while watching in start to mess around with the camera in his hands. He noted a few small things about the man here and there. The silver hair, but the guy was guy. He always kept thinking in some what of vigilante mode to keep memory of things. it felt like Batman was starting to rub off on him, but even the best hero still was alert at all times.
"Trust me, there are a few. Especially after that one attack on the school, quite a few felt like Gotham wasn't for them. Word goes quickly around this school," Dick replied to him. He was glad to see someone still wanting to come and stay in Gotham. A change from people running away from it at times.
Dick glanced at the flickering screen on the camera as the man fiddled with it. He could see images of scenery and a few people. Though a few of the photos flicking by caught his eye. "No, no. That's quite alright," Dick said. His eyes still on the camera screen at seeing a young tanned woman on the screen with fiery red hair. He knew that hair any where.
"Yeah, I've tried the city bus before, I prefer my wheels," he said slightly distracted. He then hated to feel like he was prying, but he needed to know. "Where did you take those pictures," he asked as one flicked by. No doubt it was Kory again.

Victor nodded at what Dick had said about public transportation. "its better then nothing though." He said. All the while he was thinking about what the odds were that he could get a job now.
He looked back at the camera when Dick asked him about where he got the pictures. 'Which one am I on?' He thought. Then he saw Kory. 'Oh right.' He thought with a smile.
I got those a few days ago...... The paper wanted pictures for the "park in winter" or something like that. I don't know if its out yet I don't really care to read it." He said. Then he looked back at Dick. "Why do you know her?" He asked. If this guy did know Kory then he figured that there was no harm in trying to get to know him too. Also he wanted to know if things were about to get rough. He didn't like to fight outside of his Wulfen persona. But he was still a fast runner.

"Yeah," Dick agree with him. Not all people were lucky enough to have the money to get a vehicle of their own. Or let alone have a place to keep it in the city as far as parking is concerned.
Dick saw the smile on the guys face over the picture. He listened to him explain the story behind having to get some pictures in the park. He didn't often look at the Gotham paper. Besides, half the time the vigilantes in this town were taking down and making the latest news at times.
Then again, most of it was the work that wouldn't have gotten handled by anyone else in this town. But either way, if he wanted to know what was going on, all he had to do was link to the bat computer main frame.
He looked at the picture again and then hear the guy's question. His eyes jumped from the camera to the man looking at him after the question. He was a bit hesitant at first. "Uh, yeah," he answered the man honestly and a bit withdrawing from the question. "She's a friend of mine, actually."
Dick shifted a bit at saying about knowing Kory. He wasn't too concerned over the thought of it all. And truly he was just trying to find the best word for Kory. She wasn't just a friend. But as far as to the public's eye he many have had something with her at one time. Though it was beyond that with her. She was his best friend. She had been his girlfriend at one time, well maybe a few times. And now they were between that stage of being friends and being friendlier again.
Though it was no surprise this seemed to be an on and off thing between them going on for several years. But this wasn't something he was going to share with a complete stranger. And saying she was a friend of his was the best way to put it.

Victor nodded and looked at the picture one more time. "She is a kind person." He said then looked back at Dick. "She seems to be really good at reading people." He said with a grin referring to how she found out about his little ever present friend.
"So. Is there anything else I should know about the University." Victor asked changing the subject. He could tell by the guy's reaction to his question that he didn't want to talk about their mutual friend.
'It might be personal.' He thought. Normally this is when Lupin. (his little ever present friend) would speak up. But oddly he kept quiet this time. Victor thought about maybe changing the picture that was being displayed to someone else. He figured that maybe it would make Dick feel abit better and more willing to talk.

Dick glanced down the the picture of Kory once again. Her face was always lit up with a smile. One of the many things he loved about her. She was always so open and connected with her emotions. Though sometimes you might have to watch out if you ticked her off.
"She's always been good at that," Dick said as he didn't look away from the picture and a light smile came to his face at the thought of her. He had spend so much time with her that the two of them were better at understanding each other.
But Kory still seemed to have away to be able to read him better than he could himself at times. She wasn't afraid to push him if he didn't want to be pushed. And she was always a challenge at time if he challenged her. She hadn't been afraid to step up to him when others might be at times.
Dick then shook his head as he came back to the new subject being introduced. "It depends on what you want to hear," Dick replied to him. "I'm sure you know the old ways of things like haunted building on campuses or just the history of the buildings on a campus."

"Well I know bits and pieces of the history of this place." He said as he looked around some. "I don't really buy in to haunted houses and the like." He said with a slight grin. "You should hear me when I watch one of those ghost hunting shows on TV."
Victor then looked around again. "Lots of activity at certain areas eh?" He looked at Dick and couldn't help but laugh slightly. "I'm not originally from the city. The on;y city I lived in before hand was Seattle. And I was mostly staying around the college I went to there."
