FINALLY, freedom to get away from the average everyday life of being Dick Grayson, college student. It felt like years since he had been out on the streets. When it had really only been a few months of being laid up after that unpleasant run in with the Joker so long ago.
Dick was taking full advantage of this chance. Sure his ribs could still use some time off. But hey, they weren't broken any more it was just the tissue that still needed to heal properly yet. But was that going to stop Dick?
It had been way too long. Dick felt like he had been even at time driving Alfred crazy with his boredom and trying to find something to do once all his college work had been done and he did all the digging he could on criminals without being able to actually go out and get more information for himself.
Besides, Bruce had been kind enough to let him crash at Wayne Manor during that time, but had kept Dick to a strict schedule of rehab to keep him in shape and have him ready for when he was able to go back out on the streets. Though to Dick at times some of the sessions had been quite brutal it seemed as time went on. Even with him being in bad shape from the event, some of the training and exercises had been quite the challenge.
Not to mention, Bruce had had a new suit redesign for more protection and restrengthen in parts. But since Alfred was the one that usually worked on the suits, he knew to still keep it lighter than the Bat suits since this was Dick. His style of fighting was a lot more acrobatics than the Batman had in his fighting technique.
Well, anyways, Dick was so glad to be back on the streets again. And he hated to admit it, but all that rehab and hard workout schedule had really done him good. He felt like not much had changed. He had just had a bit more training and had been working hard to perfect his martial arts.
He had practically been doing flips and jumping off tall building for the rush of the fall again. He had missed his night work. It was just a part of him. Something that was a part of Dick. He could never escape the vigilante like style. It's what kept him active and going. He could image his life without this side of it any more.
Though he had still to watch out for the FBI. But other than that, there had been no sign of other heroes of the rest of the Bat-family that night. Sure he hadn't gotten the full ok to start crime fighting again. But Dick didn't need the permission and he could wait another week. Though he knew Bruce wanted to wait a few more days just in case. But he seemed to be fine.
Dick had made his way to East Gotham to try and find some work to keep him busy. He needed this. He had so much energy. He felt like he could run all night if he wanted to. So there he was as Nightwing now standing on a rooftop overlooking part of the city. He had stopped for a moment to enjoy the feeling of being once again the vigilante at night.
